The Relationship Between Knowledge Sharing on WeChat Platform and Consumer Purchasing Behavior

The communication and sharing between consumers on the WeChat platform have greatly affected consumers' purchasing behavior. This paper takes WeChat as the research platform, collects valid questionnaires through questionnaire survey, and uses SPSS 19.0 and AMOS20.0 statistical software to conduct descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis on the data respectively, and discusses the WeChat platform. The influence of knowledge sharing (independent variable) on consumer purchase behavior (dependent variable), and using perceived value as an intermediary variable, to study the effect of perceived value on WeChat platform knowledge sharing on consumer purchase behavior .This paper divides WeChat knowledge sharing into three dimensions, which are knowledge sharing subject, knowledge sharing behavior and shared knowledge quality, and finds through empirical research: First, enterprises should use WeChat correctly as a platform to promote product and service information. Enterprises should pay attention to the subject of knowledge sharing and the quality of shared information when sharing product or service information, to improve consumers' perceived value and promote consumer purchase behavior. Second, enterprises should strengthen communication with consumers, encourage consumers to share their own experience, improve consumers' perceived value, and enhance consumer purchase behavior. Third, enterprises should strengthen the relationship with consumers and cultivate consumers' loyalty to enterprises. Moreover, they should make full use of the consumer relationship network for relationship marketing to improve the marketing effect of the enterprise.

Foreign Product Preference among Indian Consumers: The Role of Product Reviews, Word of Mouth and Quality of Shared Information

Decades post 1990 have seen rapid globalisation and technological advancement in the field of e-commerce, exposing consumers in emerging economies to an earlier unavailable wider range of foreign products and brands. Although the preference for both foreign and domestic products largely depends on consumer biases, studies show that shared information can influence consumer decision-making. This study aims to investigate the Indian consumers’ intentions towards foreign brands for apparel products. Using the theoretical foundation of the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and Social Exchange Theory (SET), the collected primary survey of 204 Indian consumers across a single product category (apparel) was analysed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The study determined that both “product reviews” and “informal word-of-mouth” discussions have a positive and significant impact on consumer’s preference towards foreign brands. Further, the quality of information shared also plays a significant role in foreign brand preference. We also found evidence that an increase in income positively influences behaviour, however, the level of education has a negative influence. The findings of the study might serve as a roadmap for any foreign apparel brand looking to establish itself in an emerging market like India.

Impact of commitment, information sharing, and information usage on supplier performance: a Bayesian belief network approach

Due to the proliferation of information systems and technology, supply chains have the capability of acquiring an enormous amount of supplier data in their databases. However, much of the useful supplier-specific insights in terms of supplier performance metrics are mostly hidden and untouched. The current emphasis on supplier performance makes relationship commitment and information management functions an ideal application area to benefit from the use of data-mining tools for the decision-making process and improving supplier performance. By employing Bayesian belief networks, this study investigates the role of the major variables of commitment, information sharing, quality of shared information, and information usage in relation to supplier performance in the U.S. aircraft manufacturing supply chain. The results provide insightful guidance to managers on how to enhance performance.

The Power of Family Engagement in Rounds: An Exemplar With Global Outcomes.

Family engagement in rounds has been recommended to improve communication, but its impact on patient outcomes is unknown. At the authors' institution, nurses encouraged family presence at rounds as part of a larger project to enhance communication during rounding. In the case reported here, family engagement resulted in a critical care patient's wife suggesting bacteriophage therapy, which led to her husband's survival. The wife's involvement provided unique insight into the patient's response to treatments and valuable suggestions regarding the treatment plan. Real-time communication among the nurse, family, and physician improved the accuracy and quality of shared information as well as the plan of care. This exemplar demonstrates how family engagement in rounds can not only optimize the outcomes of individual patients but also lead to medical and scientific advances. More research is needed to further elucidate the impact of families on treatment plans and outcomes.

The impact of IT implementation on quality of shared information and its effect on firm performance: evidence from China

Issues relating to quality of shared information have received increasing attention from scholars and practitioners in recent years. However, our knowledge of the antecedents and consequences of quality of shared information is still limited. This study extends the organisational information processing theory, social exchange theory and knowledge-based view established in Western information management literature through examining the impact of IT implementation on quality of shared information with customers and suppliers, and the mediating effect of operational performance on the relationship between quality of shared information and financial performance. We propose and empirically test a model using data collected from 176 manufacturing companies in China. The results indicate that IT implementation is important in improving the quality of shared information with customers and suppliers. Furthermore, both quality of shared information with customers and quality of shared information with suppliers positively impact operational performance, which, in turn, leads to improvements in firms' financial performance. These findings provide a new perspective for information sharing and highlight the importance of high quality of shared information.

Exploring the differences between accountants and marketers in terms of information sharing

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to explore the nature of information sharing, rewards and selected performance measures based on the dyadic relationship between accountants and marketers.Design/methodology/approachMail survey administered to senior executives of larger Canadian firms. MANOVA followed by univariate analyses are used to identify significant dimensions. Variables that are important to distinguish between the two groups are identified using logistic regression.FindingsAccountants are more satisfied with the quality of shared information and rate its impact on performance higher than marketers. Marketers view accountants as a more important source of information.Research limitations/implicationsLongitudinal studies, in‐depth surveys within a single firm and employing respondents at different hierarchical levels would provide important insights and reduce common‐method bias.Practical implicationsAccountants should recognize marketing as an important source of information since resource complementarity is crucial to collaborative success. Using market‐based reward systems and establishing quality as an important goal would have a bigger impact on marketers in enhancing information sharing between the two functions.Originality/valueContributes to filling the gap regarding the nature of information sharing between marketing and accounting as well as its relationship to market‐based rewards and selected performance measures.
