Psychological state, self-assessment y emotional stability of a severely wounded combatant

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the peculiarities of the psychological state, self-esteem and emotional stability of severely wounded combatants who returned from combat. The research is based on the study of the psychological well-being of this category of victims, their adaptation and rehabilitation after severe physical injuries. The main focus is on identifying the manifestations of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depressive and anxiety symptoms in severely wounded combatants. It was found that severe combat trauma significantly increases the risk of developing mental disorders in victims, significantly complicating their recovery and return to a full-fledged peaceful life.The main factors that affect the emotional stability and general psychological state of severely wounded combatants are analyzed. These factors include physical pain and limitations, loss of functional capabilities, psychological trauma, social isolation, feelings of loss and helplessness, as well as problems with employment and financial stability. The role and importance of family care in supporting the psychological well-being of severely wounded combatants is considered. It is noted that effective rehabilitation requires close cooperation between medical professionals, psychologists, social workers and families of the victims. An important aspect is raising public awareness of the problems faced by severely wounded combatants and developing social support and adaptation programs for this category of people. Based on the results obtained, the article outlines the main areas of psychological assistance to severely wounded combatants. The author emphasizes the need for a comprehensive psychological rehabilitation program aimed at processing traumatic experiences and restoring self-esteem.

Long-term Impact of Psychological Rehabilitation on Isolated Hospitalization Patients with COVID-19: A Longitudinal Study.

This study aimed to investigate the long-term effects of a psychological rehabilitation program that was effective on anxiety, depression, and quality of sleep in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. This is longitudinal study. 13 patients in the experimental group who received a psychological rehabilitation program during hospitalization and 16 patients in the control group who received conservative treatment completed the questionnaire 6 months after discharge. Questionnaires are the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), Visual Analysis Scale (VAS), and the Korean version of the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI-K). The VAS for depression significantly improved in the experimental group compared with control group at discharge (E = -2.40, p < 0.001) and follow-up (E = -3.36, p < 0.001). The SDS and PHQ-9 scores significantly improved at discharge (E = -4.05, p = 0.01 and E = -2.29, p = 0.01) but not at follow-up (E = -4.64, p = 0.12 and E = -1.81, p = 0.22). There are no significant interactions for VAS for anxiety (E = -0.27, p = 0.79), SAS scores (E = -1.48, p = 0.51), and insomnia (E = -0.69, p = 0.63) scores during the follow-up. Psychological rehabilitation showed a significant long-term reduction in depression, but not in anxiety. Therefore, continuous intervention and management of mental health are required after discharge.

Problems of rehabilitation and recovery of military servicemen under special conditions

The problem of this study is the lack of a detailed study of physical rehabilitation (help) and recovery, which is necessary for all military personnel who took and participate in combat operations. The purpose of the study is to analyze and reveal the physical rehabilitation of servicemen in Ukraine during martial law. Research methods were used in the article such as: deduction method (from general to basic in the field of physical rehabilitation research in Ukraine), analysis method (to establish existing and effective physical rehabilitation for servicemen during martial law in Ukraine), generalization method (for writing conclusions and proposals), etc. The main results of the study: the types of physical rehabilitation that military personnel undergo to restore physical health are considered.(Physical rehabilitation for military personnel during martial law includes: therapeutic physical culture, natural physical factors, hardening, therapeutic massage, manual therapy, physical therapy, mechanotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesitherapy, occupational therapy, reflexology. Conducting rehabilitation activities for military personnel has its own characteristics due to participation in combat actions that were accompanied by excessive physical and psychological stress, generating powerful combat stress, demobilized fighters, returning home, note that their psyche is not adapted to peaceful civilian lifeThe scientific novelty of the research results is due to a detailed study of the problem of rehabilitation and recovery of servicemen during martial law in Ukraine. Conclusions and suggestions: the lack of rehabilitation doctors, the lack of clear packages of services for the rehabilitation and recovery of servicemen during martial law, the lack of quick communication between military units, medical institutions and the military medical commission regarding the rehabilitation and recovery of servicemen - these are all the gaps of today. To solve existing problems, it is necessary to: stimulate doctors to study in the field of rehabilitation; legislatively regulate the possibility of releasing disabled persons who have acquired a disability or those who were already disabled and went to the front as volunteers; to create a physical and psychological rehabilitation program for each serviceman who needs rehabilitation and recovery; creation of the concept of rehabilitation of soldiers released from captivity, etc.

Integrated Psychological Rehabilitation Program on Neurocognition, Social Skill, and Functional Disability in Persons with Schizophrenia: A Pilot Study

Abstract Introduction: Schizophrenia, a chronic and severe mental disorder, is characterized by disruptions in thinking, perception, emotions, and behavior. These disturbances are accompanied by significant cognitive and social skill deficits that affect their functional outcomes encompassing employment, independent living, social interactions, and community integration. To address these issues, the development of psychological rehabilitation programs addressing cognitive and social skill deficits becomes pivotal in schizophrenia care. Objective: The study was designed to develop modules for the integrated psychological rehabilitation program (IPRP) that focus on neurocognitive functions, social skills, and functional disability and evaluate its feasibility among schizophrenia patients. Materials and Methods: The present study made use of a pre- and posttest research design and used purposive sampling to recruit patients diagnosed with schizophrenia. Twelve participants completed the 1-month IPRP along with the pre- and posttest evaluations encompassing cognitive functions, social skills, and disability using the Bender Gestalt Test, Social Skills Assessment Screening Scale, NIMHANS neuropsychology battery, Postgraduate Institute Memory Scale, and WHO Disability Assessment Schedule II. IPRP consisted of psychoeducation, cognitive retraining, and social skills training. Results: The majority of the participants were college educated (91.7%), unemployed (83.3%), single (75%), males (75%), residing in urban areas (66.7%), and living in joint family (66.7%). Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to compare pre- and posttest means. The results found significant improvements in various cognitive domains, including visuospatial ability (Z = 2.43, P = 0.015), remote (Z = 2.12, P = 0.034) and immediate memory (Z = 2.04, P = 0.042), verbal retention for similar (Z = 2.26, P = 0.024) and dissimilar pairs (Z = 2.82, P = 0.005), recognition (Z = 2.14, P = 0.032), total memory (Z = 3.06, P = 0.002), mental speed in terms of time taken (Z = 2.98, P = 0.003) and errors made (Z = 2.26, P = 0.024) on the digit symbol substitution test, comprehension (Z = 2.84, P = 0.004), social skills (Z = 2.807, P = 0.005), and overall disability (Z = 2.94, P = 0.003). Conclusion: The findings from the study underscore the potential of the IPRP in mitigating cognitive deficits, enhancing social skills, and reducing overall disability among schizophrenia patients.

ОЦЕНКА ЭФФЕКТИВНОСТИ «ПАНТОГЕМАТОГЕНА-С» В КОМПЛЕКСНОЙ МЕДИКО-ПСИХОЛОГИЧЕСКОЙ РЕАБИЛИТАЦИИ ВОЕННОСЛУЖАЩИХ С АСТЕНИЧЕСКИМ СИНДРОМОМ В УСЛОВИЯХ САНАТОРИЯ

Introduction. The utilization of the dietary supplement "Pantohematogen-C" within the medical and psychological rehabilitation program for military personnel with secondary asthenic syndrome in a sanatorium-resort setting has demonstrated its positive impact on normalizing key asthenia symptoms, including physical and mental exhaustion, vegetative disorders, and sleep disturbances. Aim. This study aimed to enhance the effectiveness of comprehensive medical and psychological sanatorium-resort rehabilitation for military personnel with asthenic syndrome using the dietary supplement "Pantohematogen-C". Materials and Methods. The study involved 39 male military personnel aged 24 to 59 years (average age 39.2±4.18 years), with 20 patients in the main group and 19 in the comparison group. The patients underwent a 21-day sanatorium rehabilitation program at the Military Sanatorium "Yeltsovka" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The rehabilitation program included various interventions such as diet therapy, gentle-training motor regime, physical therapy methods, daily dosed walking, exercise equipment, transcranial electrical stimulation (TES), iodine-bromine baths, and psychological correction. Additionally, the main group received the dietary supplement "Pantohematogen-C" three times a day, while the comparison group underwent only the procedures of the basic complex. The effectiveness of the rehabilitation measures was evaluated using several assessment tools. Results. Following the comprehensive sanatorium rehabilitation program, including "Pantohematogen-C", a significant decrease in physical and mental components of asthenia, an increase in activity on the MFI-20 scale, normalization of vegetative status, and improved sleep quality were observed. Patients also reported enhanced well-being, mood, and activity. Moreover, the program led to a statistically significant decrease in situational anxiety. Conclusions. The study has explored the potential and suitability of using Pantohematogen-C to enhance the effectiveness of the sanatorium-resort program for medical and psychological rehabilitation of military personnel with secondary asthenic syndrome. This intervention has shown promise in normalizing vegetative and psycho-emotional status, improving sleep quality, and increasing patient activity in sanatorium-resort organizations catering to these patient categories.

Internet technologies in the psychological rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases: literature review

The review includes an analysis of the literature sources PubMed (MEDLINE), Embase, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, and eLibrary databases for the last 5 years (20182022) and the current year 2023 concerning Internet technologies used in the psychological rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases. Several options for using the Internet in the psychological rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases are considered, including online resources for interactive information exchange and psychological support, Internet-based psychoeducation, online programs for improving psychological state, and remote psychocorrection. Modern Internet technologies are becoming increasingly important in patients with cardiovascular diseases, opening up new avenues for implementing psychological rehabilitation programs in cardiorehabilitation. Because of its accessibility and effectiveness in lowering anxiety and depressive symptoms, Internet programs based on cognitive behavioral psychotherapy are increasingly being used to improve the psychological state of patients with cardiovascular diseases. The use of Internet technologies in the psychological rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases helps patients adhere to cardiac rehabilitation. The results show the importance of incorporating Internet technologies into the psychological rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases and the need for further research to comprehensively study existing and developing new options for using the Internet in psychological rehabilitation.

Effect of Trait and State Anxiety on Overhead Defensive Clear Shot Skill Performance Regarding Some Kinematic Variables for Badminton Players

Background: Anxiety is a psychological state of mind that affects skillful performance negatively or positively according to the type of anxiety and the way it is interpreted by the player, especially in individual games, such as badminton. On the other hand, the kinematic variables can better determine if players’ skill performance is successful. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the effect of anxiety (if any) (including anxiety types trait and state) on overhead clear skill performance regarding some kinematic variables for badminton players. Methods: The study sample consisted of 61 beginner badminton players (with mean scores of age: 14.3 ± 1.2 years, mass: 51.20 ± 1.31 kg, height: 1.66 ± 0.10 m, training period: 3.9 ± 1.3 years), distributed to 3 groups based on the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory Form Y questionnaire. The equivalence of these groups was calculated based on pre-test results, which were no anxiety, trait anxiety, and state anxiety. Results: The results showed that trait and state anxiety had negative effects on badminton players’ performance of overhead defensive clear shot skill in terms of some kinematic variables. The results also showed that the effect of trait anxiety was more negative than the effect of state anxiety. Conclusions: The researchers recommend having knowledge of the level, type, and extent of anxiety, including relevant effects on the performance of beginner badminton players in all physiological, motor, and biomechanical aspects, to develop psychological rehabilitation programs that deal with anxiety according to the type, which the player can overcome.

Dimensions of the Malaysian Experience in Rehabilitating those Who are About to Get Married and the Implications

In this paper, we reviewed the dimensions of the Malaysian experience in preparing and rehabilitating those who are about to get married, which is called (the marriage license). The success achieved by that experience within the Malaysian society, in which the divorce rate - at one time - reached nearly 32%. After applying this experience in Malaysia, the divorce rate decreased to 7%. This confirms the importance of preparing and qualifying those who are about to get married of both sexes (male and female); achieves stability within the family, which is one of the building blocks of society. It included the Malaysian experience, which came after an extensive scientific study that includes many scientific programs that would achieve a happy family climate. These programs included a package of psychological rehabilitation programs, social preparation, religious preparation, in addition to economic preparation. This package of rehabilitation programs came in order to advance the Malaysian family and seek to eliminate and reduce the phenomenon of divorce within Malaysian society. In this study, we relied on the inductive approach as well as the analytical approach to reach a statement of the dimensions of this unique experience and the success achieved in the Malaysian society, and how to benefit from it globally, with the aim of achieving stability within the family in general. This is done through two chapters and a conclusion.

Mechanisms of the formation of psychological disadaptation in combatants with a distinction based on the signs of adjustment disorders and PTSD

IntroductionContemporary for combatants with signs of adjustment disorders (AD) consists of “distorted” thoughts about the displacement of the value of one’s role, the loss of a certain significant position. This can be seen from the analysis of complaints about the feeling of anxiety, tension, asthenia, mood swings, lack of emotional regulation and the assessment of well-being criteria.It is important to understand what is a preventer of maladjustment, and what is a predictor of the formation of psychological adaptation disturbances in combatants with a distinction based on the signs of AD and PTSD.ObjectivesBased on the analysis of violations of the psycho-emotional sphere, peculiarities of perception of the social environment, understanding of one’s role in traumatic events, and personal adaptation potential, predictors and preventers of violation of psychological adaptation among combatants are determined.MethodsThe clinical investigation based on psychiatric examination with the narrative motivation interview,psychological examination by Mississippi Scale for Combat-Related Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.ResultsThe predictors of impaired psychological adaptation in combatants withAD: Low indicators of moral normativity, which structure thoughts and help in the interpretation and analysis of negative experienced events of a stressogenic level.Preventers of violation of psychological adaptation in combatants with AD:Communicative potential, which lies in the structure of personal adaptation potential. This indicator indicates the presence of a need in the social environment and opportunities for realization, that is, as a resource of the individual. The ability to receive from the social environment a sense of support, reinforcement of self-esteem, motivation for activity, determination of the goals of future projects. Predictors of impaired psychological adaptation in combatants with PTSD: Low communicative potential, which, under the significant influence of stressogenic factors, isolates from close social interaction and does not allow family members to influence the emotional state. Family support is diminished and perceived as a trigger for anger. Fixation on the intensity of emotional experiences, maintaining the tone of negative manifestations, as a form of receiving punishment. Keeping under control one’s values in the life system and an attempt to reorient oneself to the future.ConclusionsRelying on preventers as the resource base of the personality of combatants and predictors as targets of psychocorrective intervention in the tasks of the medical and psychological rehabilitation program, algorithms for further psychocorrective intervention were determined.Disclosure of InterestNone Declared

The results of the developed methodology "Assessment of negative mental reactions and conditions in military personnel" are presented. The methodology consists of 16 statements, the results of which determine the presence of negative psychological symptoms in military personnel associated with participation in combat operations, and is a convenient tool for assessing the dynamics of the state in the conditions of short-term psychological rehabilitation programs. In contrast to the existing methods of diagnosing negative mental reactions and personality states that arose after participation in hostilities, the developed psychodiagnostic toolkit is able to take into account the physical and mental fatigue of the interviewees, the deterioration of their attention and other cognitive dysfunctions associated with experiencing a stressful experience; able to visually demonstrate changes in mental state that occurred during the psychological rehabilitation program. In addition to the information useful for the psychologist, during individual counseling, the visual form has a therapeutic effect for the serviceman himself, who is convinced of the effectiveness and usefulness of these measures; it is convenient for summarizing data and receiving feedback from the psychologist about the effectiveness of introducing new measures into psychological recovery programs; useful for obtaining information about the effectiveness of individual counseling work, providing the psychologist with a reflection on his professional activity. With the existing workload on psychologists, there is a need for supervision and their rotation in institutions that carry out psychological rehabilitation. The developed method was tested on a sample of more than 1,300 servicemen who took part in the psychological rehabilitation program.

Тhe efficiency of the integrated social and psychological rehabilitation program of extreme stress factors

У статті розкрито особливості інтегрованої соціально-психологічної програми реабілітації постраждалих внаслідок дії екстремальних стрес-факторів та проведено оцінку її ефективності. У запропонованій програмі, яка містила методологічний, змістовий та технологічний компоненти, психологічний вплив спрямовувався у напрямку підтримки постраждалих (емоційної, екзистенційної, смислової), подолання психоемоційних травмуючих станів і переживань (тривожності, самотності, почуття провини, образи, агресивності), внутрішьоособистісних конфліктів (мотиваційних, рольових, ціннісних), негативного «Я-образу» (неадекватної самооцінки та рівня домагань, невпевненості у собі), кризи ідентичності (персональної та соціальної) та на підвищення соціально-психологічної адаптації, налагодження конструктивної комунікації, міжособистісної взаємодії і успішної інтеграції постраждалих у соціум. Серед формувальних заходів, задіяних в інтегрованій програмі реабілітації, дієвими виявилися: соціально-психологічний тренінг корекції емоційних станів із використанням музикотерапії та тренінг соціальної адаптованості з задіянням психокорекційних тілесно-орієнтованих вправ; арт-терапія, психологічний дебрифінг й індивідуальна терапія, з задіянням технік експозиційної гіпнотерапії та методу десенсибілізації (EMDR) та ін. Ефективність програми доведена зниженням проявів симптомів емоційної травми, тривожності, депресії, поряд із підвищенням тенденції до оптимальних копінг-стратегій переживання дії стрес-фактору, а також зростанням показників самоорганізації та розвитку стресостійкості, стабільності психічної організації, усталеності до складних ситуацій та обставин; показників психодинамічних властивостей (сенситивності, нейротизму, саморегуляції тощо); інтелектуальної та мисленнєвої діяльності; особистісних властивостей (впевненості у собі, ціннісного ставлення до себе, інших, світу тощо). CBT-based psychological rehabilitation program for oncological patients

IntroductionAlthough the survival rate of cancer patients show an increasing trend due to more effective treatments plans, cancer mortality rates are still the highest in Hungary among EU countries. From a psychological perspective, undiagnosed psychological disorders, insufficient treatment, and also poor adherence to treatment are recognized factors behind the saddening mortality data.ObjectivesThis translational research study aims to measure adherence rates and the extent of different psychological factors (including well-being and shame), in order to shed light on the relationship of these factors, among the population of patients with breast cancer. The secondary objective of the study is to develop a cognitive behavioral therapy -based psychological rehabilitation program for oncological patients (CBT-OP).MethodsA total of 372 participants took part in our study, consisting of patients with breast cancer (n=70), clinical control subjects (n=200) and healthy controls (n=102). Data collection was conducted with convenience sampling and in an online questionnaire format. Data was analyzed with the IBM SPSS 22.0 software package, using analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation analysis and moderation analysis.ResultsThere was a significant difference between physical health, mental well-being, stigmatization and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder in the three groups. The association between adherence and mental well-being was moderated by the extent of experienced shame.ConclusionsOur results draw attention to the effects of shame and well-being on adherence to cancer treatment plans. Based on these findings we developed CBT-OP program, based on evidence-based CBT methods, focusing on reducing the experience of shame and on strengthening self-compassion skills.DisclosureNo significant relationships.

Impact of the Post Deployment Assessment and Treatment Residential Rehabilitation Program on Quality of Life in Veterans with Multiple Medical and Psychiatric Comorbidities

<h3>Research Objectives</h3> To evaluate the impact of a residential psychological rehabilitation program on quality of life of veterans with comorbid mental health, substance use, and neurological conditions (e.g. traumatic brain injury). <h3>Design</h3> Before-and-after trial of a novel neurorehabilitation program for Veterans with complex postdeployment needs. <h3>Setting</h3> Interdisciplinary residential inpatient rehabilitation program in a Veteran's Administration hospital. <h3>Participants</h3> Participants were 48 male residents (24 to 61 years of age, M = 36.85 (SD = 9.50)), 68.8% were non-Hispanic Caucasian, 8.3% Asian/Pacific Islander, 4.2% African-American, 8.3% Hispanic, 10.4% Native-American/Alaskan Native, mean education was 13.00 years (SD = 1.39, range = 9 to 19). Mean months deployed was 14.61 (SD = 8.80, range = 0 to 42). The three most common mental health diagnoses were sleep-wake disorder, trauma and stress-related disorder, and anxiety disorders. A total of 43.8%, n = 21, of participants experienced problems with alcohol abuse. Assessment was completed immediately prior to and up to two weeks after discharge. <h3>Interventions</h3> Participants received intensive individual and group therapies from an interdisciplinary team with an emphasis on community re-integration. The length of treatment varied from two weeks to sixty weeks. <h3>Main Outcome Measures</h3> World Health Organization Quality of Life-Brief (WHOQOL-BREF), a well-validated 26-item measure of quality of life within four domains (physical health, psychological well-being, social relationships, and environment). <h3>Results</h3> Results showed significant change on all four WHOQOL-BREF domains after program participation, t's = 4.15 to 6.20, all p's <.001. Number of military deployments was marginally negatively associated with degree of improvement on the physical health domain (r = -.28, p < .10). Nondeployment during military service was marginally positively associated with increases on the social relationship domain (p < .10, t = -1.83). <h3>Conclusions</h3> Findings support the benefit of the Post Deployment Assessment and Treatment residential rehabilitation intervention for improvement of quality of life. Breast cancer: role of psychological support and the effectiveness of treatment

Background. Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed and life-threatening cancer in women worldwide. Since the disease diagnosis and treatment have improved greatly over time, quality of life has become an important outcome measure in breast cancer clinical investigations. The goal of the study was to analyze quality of life in women with breast cancer and to conduct a meta-analysis of data indicating the need for psychological support aimed at improving the quality of life in breast cancer patients. Material and methods. The study involved 186 women who were diagnosed with breast cancer no earlier than 6 months from the date of the survey. All patients had a luminal type of tumor. To study the quality of life of women with breast cancer, the sf-36 (36-item short-Form Health survey) questionnaire recommended by the international protocol was used. Results. Comparative analysis of standardized indicators of the quality of life indicats that the quality of life of women with breast cancer is significantly lower than that of women from the population (p&lt;0.05). This result requires attention from both social/psychological services and physicians, due to the fact that the general indicator of the quality of life is associated with the prognosis of survival. The essence of providing psychological support to women with breast cancer is not only to alleviate their moral and psychological suffering, but also to enhance the effect of treatment and, as a result, increase survival. The authors come to the conclusion that it is necessary to include psychological rehabilitation programs in the protocol for treating women with breast cancer to enhance the effect of treatment, improve the quality of life.

ВЛИЯНИЕ НЕКОНВЕНЦИОННЫХ ФАКТОРОВ НА ПРИВЕРЖЕННОСТЬ К ТЕРАПИИ, УРОВЕНЬ КОНТРОЛЯ И КАЧЕСТВО ЖИЗНИ ПРИ БРОНХИАЛЬНОЙ АСТМЕ У ДЕТЕЙ

Assessment of the level of adherence to treatment and anxiety of patients and the mother of the child allows us to determine a personalized approach to their psychological rehabilitation program. The implementation of these programs makes it possible to optimize the interaction of sick children and their parents, the attending physician and the patient, and thereby increase the effectiveness of disease therapy and quality of life of the sick child.

ПЕРСПЕКТИВИ НАДАННЯ ЛІКУВАЛЬНО-ОЗДОРОВЧИХ ПОСЛУГ У КИЇВСЬКІЙ ОБЛАСТІ У ПІСЛЯВОЄННИЙ ПЕРІОД

The natural resources, including recreational and medical, the available infrastructure of the Dzvinkove village of Kyiv region (Boyarska territorial community) were explored. The possibility of creating a medical and recreational area on the basis of this village and its adjacent territory is substantiated. This area has favorable natural resources for a comfortable person’s staying and a source of drinking mineral water which can be used to improve and clean the human body. Forest areas and air ^mbined with terrenkur and hiking, have a powerful health-improving effect. These natural conditions are favorable for treatment and rehabilitation. The activity and infrastructural features of the eco-complex “Perlyna Dzvinkova ” (Dzvinkove village) were analyzed. It has been established that at this stage the complex provides the need for rest, health improvement and restoration of human strength after work. The main services of the health center “Perlyna Life” on the territory of the eco-complex are a 7-day course of treatment for post-covid syndrome, health programs, complex diagnostics of the body, probing of the body, therapy with detoxification and antioxidant solutions based on activated water from the source of the Dzvinkove village. The proposed range of medical and health services is suitable for different categories of visitors. In the post-war period, it is planned to introduce the following medical and rehabilitation services: a special program of psychological rehabilitation and adaptation of patients (for the psycho-emotional and strength recovery of soldiers), cooperation with a full-time psychologist, special types of therapeutic massages are being selected for the rehabilitation of the wounded. It was found that the eco-complex “Perlyna Dzvinkova” with the existing infrastructure and health-improving complex can serve as the core of the formation and further development of the health-improving area. The obtained results allow asserting that the eco-complex “Perlyna Dzvinkova” and its health center will make it possible to provide medical and health-improving services in the post-war period for various categories of the population, primarily for people who suffered from military aggression on the territory of Ukraine.

COVID-19 and chronic fatigue syndrome: An endocrine perspective

Patients recovering from COVID-19 may have persistent debilitating symptoms requiring long term support through individually tailored cardiopulmonary and psychological rehabilitation programs. Clinicians need to be aware about the likely long-term complications and their diagnostic assessments to help identify any occult problems requiring additional help. Endocrinological evaluations should be considered as part of the armamentarium in the management of such individuals with diligent cognizance about the involvement of the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, adrenal and thyroid function. We here review the literature and potential pathophysiological mechanisms involved in and related to post COVID-19 symptoms with an emphasis on endocrine function.

Diagnostic of psychoemotional and cognitive impairments in acute ischemic stroke

Background. Early rehabilitation of patients with stroke is an important aspect of modern healthcare. The leading factor in disability is polymorphism of movement disorders, which is associated with dysfunction of various parts of the movement regulation system. Disorders of higher mental functions are another group of functional disorders widely represented among stroke patient. Aims: To assess the severity of cognitive, psychoemotional, behavioral disorders, the level of self-control and prevalence of certain coping strategies in patients with lesions of the right and left cerebral hemispheres after acute ischemic stroke. Material and methods. The study included 60 patients with a diagnosis of ischemic stroke. Depending on the location of the stroke, patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 30 patients with lesions of the right hemisphere, Group 2 30 patients with lesions of the left hemisphere. The study was conducted on the 7th day of treatment and included: assessment of the cognitive status according to the Montreal scale (with additional scales for assessing the functions of the right hemisphere); assessment of the level of distress, depression, anxiety and somatization using the Four Dimensional Symptom Questionnaire; assessment of mental and physical asthenia according to the MFI-20 scale, level of self-control using the Rotter's Locus of Control Scale and coping strategies modality using E. Heim coping questionnaire. Results. The study established the prevalence of depression, a tendency towards non-adaptive coping strategies, ideational praxis related disorders understanding of metaphors and low level of self-control in relation to health in patients with lesions of the right hemisphere. Patients with ischemic stroke localized in the left hemisphere are characterized by a high level of mental asthenia, a choice of adaptive and relatively adaptive coping strategies, and a low level of self-control in respect to interpersonal relationships. Conclusions. The results of the study show that in the acute period of stroke there are qualitative and quantitative differences in neuropsychiatric symptoms of patients with lesions of the right and left cerebral hemispheres. The predominance of depression, cognitive impairments, and non-adaptive coping strategies in patients with lesions of the right hemisphere even with minimal or moderate motor deficits justifies early examination of the patient's behavioral, neuropsychiatric, and cognitive syndromes. The results of the study indicate the need to develop individual psychological rehabilitation programs for patients with lesions of the right and left cerebral hemispheres during the acute period of stroke.
