Purpose The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), its clinical features, and comorbidities in patients applying for plastic and reconstructive surgery. Method Five-hundred and seventy nine participants who applied to the plastic and reconstructive surgery outpatient clinic completed a sociodemographic data form, and were subjected to the Body Perception Scale (seventy-nineBPS), Social Appearance Anxiety Scale (SAAS), TEMPS-A Temperament Scale, and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Participants who scored 135 or more on the BPS were included in a psychiatric interview. Next, the participants diagnosed with BDD were compared with participants with a high BPS scores but without a BDD diagnosis, along with a control group. Results The prevalence of BDD among all patients attending the plastic surgery outpatient clinic was found to be 4.7%, whereas the prevalence was 8.6% among those specifically seeking cosmetic procedures. The mean SAAS, BDI, TEMPS-A depressive, and anxious scores were higher in the BDD group compared to the controls (p < 0.001). The difference in the mean SAAS, BDI, TEMPS-A depressive, and anxious scores of the patients with a high BPS scores and the control group was comparable to the difference observed between the BDD and control groups. A regression analysis revealed that the SAAS and depressive temperament scores have an effect on the BPS score. Conclusion The significantly high comorbidity of BDD in patients seeking plastic and reconstructive surgery underscores the importance of identifying these patients to prevent unnecessary surgical procedures.

Prevalence and Impact of Psychiatric Co-Morbidity in Patients with Spinal Pathology in Basrah, Iraq

Background and objective: to minimize complications by proper selection of patients for surgery and to evaluate what is the impact of psychiatric co-morbidity in patients admitted to a spinal surgical unit in Basrah, Iraq. Patients and Methods: A multi-center cross-sectional prospective cohort study was conducted on 247 patients. In Basrah province. During admission complete history was taken in form of identity, complaint, past medical and surgical history, drug history, type of previous and the coming surgery and lastly special emphasis on the questioner to assess patient psychological status using the Patient Health Questioner. Somatic Anxiety Depressive Symptoms (PHQ.SADS) After one week and one-month the same questions were addressed to the patient to check the general condition,and any complications or readmission. Results: Out of the 247 patients: Eight patients refuse to be part of this study, thirty-one patients lost follow up, three patients excluded from the study due to exclusion criteria, five patients their surgery postponded because they were psychologically unstable and advised for psychiatrist consultation. 111 patients (55.5%) of the sample size were male patients. A 90 (45%) patients were at age of 38-57 years, 111 (55.5%) of the sample were male 82 patients (41%) were of moderate degree using the PHQ.SADS. 62 patients (31%) were within the severe scale PHQ.SADS.132 patients (66%) complained from radiculopathy with or without backache,192 (96%) patients discharged safely postoperatively. 41(39.4%) patients were diagnosed with lumber canal stenosis belongs to the severe group. Psychological break down occurs in 10 (5%) patients, 9 (90%) of those patients belong to severe grade category of PHQ.SADS. Conclusion: There was a strong association between pre-operative psychological conditions and post-operative complications in form of repeated visit after surgery and persistence of pain and disability.

Elevated Psychiatric Comorbidities in Patients with Low-risk Chest Pain Presenting in The Emergency Department

Background/Objective: Low-risk chest pain (LRCP), i.e. chest pain that does not pose an imminent risk or have a cardiovascular cause, constitutes the majority (80%) of cases of chest pain presenting to the emergency department (ED). Past research shows that in patients withLRCP without a history of cardiovascular disease, many will meet criteria for panic or generalized anxiety disorder. The purpose of this project is to examine the psychiatric comorbidities of patients with LRCP including differences by severity of anxiety.&#x0D; Methods: Baseline data collected in the Patient-Centered Treatment of Anxiety after Low-Risk Chest Pain in the Emergency Room (PACER) study were analyzed to determine: the rates of depression, somatization, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), disability, and low self-efficacyin relation to increasing levels of anxiety (low anxiety but positive for panic disorder vs moderate vs severe anxiety). Also, anxiety severity groups are compared for demographic and other patient characteristics to identify potential predictors of anxiety severity.&#x0D; Results: In 265 patients with LRCP who screened positive for panic disorder and/or generalized anxiety disorder, the proportion with low, moderate and severe anxiety symptoms was 9%, 44% and 47%, respectively. Overall, 57% (n=150) also screened positive for depression, 54%(n=144) for somatization syndrome, and 56% (n=149) for PTSD. Rates of depression, somatization, PTSD, and disability increased as the level of anxiety increased. Compared to patients with low to moderate anxiety, patients with severe anxiety were more likely to have depression (odds ratio = 3.0), somatization (OR = 2.7), PTSD (OR = 2.6), disability (OR = 2.4), and low self-efficacy (OR = 3.5).&#x0D; Conclusion and Potential Implications: Patients with LRCP and anxiety are likely to have other psychiatric comorbidities. Additionally, as rates of comorbidities increase with the anxiety severity, detection and management of anxiety is essential to provide optimal care for low-riskchest pain.

The bidirectional association between epilepsy and psychiatric conditions complicates treatment, with psychiatric symptoms preceding or following seizure onset. The review discusses the seizure risks associated with antidepressants, CNS stimulants, and antipsychotics, shedding light on both historical perspectives and recent empirical evidence. Antidepressants, particularly tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), are known to pose seizure risks, while newer agents like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) exhibit lower incidences and even potential anticonvulsant effects. Diagnostic concordance in consultation liaison psychiatry – Referring physicians to psychiatrists

Psychiatric co-morbidity in patients with physical illness is known to influence the course and outcome of both conditions. Consultation liaison psychiatry [CLP] can be regarded as an essential service between psychiatry and other medical specialties. Efficient communication between different levels of care is known to have an impact on the quality of health care. To study the patterns of referrals to the department of psychiatry and diagnostic concordance between referring physicians to CL-Psychiatrist.The present study was a cross-sectional study conducted in the Department of Psychiatry of a tertiary care hospital. All the patients referred to the Psychiatry department for 4 months were taken after excluding referrals sent for disability assessment. Socio-demographic details, source of referral, reason for referral, and the psychiatric diagnosis by both the referring doctor and CL-psychiatrist were recorded. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS 25.0 software and kappa value was used to estimate the diagnostic concordance.In the sample of 100 referrals studied, the mean age of the sample was 40.96±13.42 years. The majority of the cases referred were inpatients (61%), from the department of general medicine and allied branches (85%), (General medicine -55, Neurology- 21). The most common diagnosis was alcohol dependence syndrome 24 (24%), followed by depression (18%) and phobic anxiety (18%).The concordance of the diagnosis between the referral and the psychiatry team was in perfect agreement (κ=0.81- 1.00) for paranoid schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, delirium, dissociative disorder, delusional disorder, and alcohol dependence syndrome. Very low concordance was observed in diagnosing obsessive-compulsive disorder (k=0) and adjustment disorder (k=0).The overall diagnostic concordance was poor for adjustment disorder, OCD, and vascular dementia, and good for paranoid schizophrenia, delirium, dissociative disorder, delusional disorder, and BPAD.

Depression as comorbidity in Sundanese epilepsy patients

Background: Depressive disorder is a common psychiatric comorbidity in patients with epilepsy (PWE). This health condition is prevalent among the Sundanese who have a calm and polite character, with a tendency to hide their feelings, which is associated with an increased risk of depression. Methods: This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the prevalence of major depressive disorder (MDD) and the associated factors among Sundanese PWE. The study was carried out in the neurology outpatient clinic at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung, consisting of the Sunda ethnic group as the majority of patients. Self-stigma degree was measured using the Indonesian version of Internalized Stigma of Epilepsy (ISEP) questionnaire, while depression symptom was screened through the Indonesian version of Neurological Disorders Depression Inventory for Epilepsy (NDDI-E). Subsequently, patients who had depression symptoms were referred to a psychiatrist to confirm whether their conditions matched the criteria of MDD according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder-5. Results: The prevalence of depressive symptoms in Sundanese epilepsy patients was found to be 18.4%, and MDD was 6.8% among 103 patients included in this study. Many PWE with MDD were not married, had uncontrolled seizures, used polytherapy anti-seizure medication, and exhibited a higher degree of self-stigma. Conclusion: In this study, the prevalence of MDD was found to be 6.8% among a cohort of Sundanese PWE. A significant relationship was also observed between MDD and several factors, including single status, uncontrolled seizure, polytherapy, and a higher degree of self-stigma.

Psychiatric Comorbidities and Schizophrenia in Youths With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

The association between attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and schizophrenia has received increased attention; however, evidence on the association between psychiatric comorbidities and subsequent schizophrenia in patients with ADHD is limited. To investigate the risk of being diagnosed with schizophrenia in children and adolescents with ADHD considering the presence of psychiatric comorbidity. This was a population-based, retrospective cohort study using the Health Insurance Review and Assessment claims database from January 1, 2007, to December 31, 2019. Participants were children and adolescents aged 5 to 19 years who received an ADHD diagnosis between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2018, in the nationwide claims data of Korea. Data were analyzed from January 2010 to December 2019. The presence of psychiatric comorbidity was assessed from diagnosis records within 1 year before ADHD diagnosis. Comorbidities were further categorized according to the number of comorbidities and specific comorbid disorders. Cox proportional hazard models were used to estimate hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% CIs, examining the association between psychiatric comorbidities and the risk of being diagnosed with schizophrenia. Furthermore, the occurrence of psychiatric comorbidity during the follow-up period was explored among patients without psychiatric comorbidity at baseline. A total of 211 705 patients with newly diagnosed ADHD were included. A total of 157 272 patients (74.3%) were male, and the age of 5 to 9 years showed the highest distribution (115 081 patients [54.4%]). Patients with psychiatric comorbidity had a significantly higher risk of being diagnosed with schizophrenia than those without (adjusted HR, 2.14; 95% CI, 2.05-2.23). The association between schizophrenia and psychiatric comorbidity became progressively greater with the increasing number of comorbidities. Several individual psychiatric disorders showed an association with development of schizophrenia, with ASD, intellectual disability, tic disorder, depression, and bipolar disorder being the top 5 disorders most associated. Furthermore, 3244 patients (73.8%) without psychiatric comorbidities experienced the emergence of other psychiatric disorders before schizophrenia occurrence. In this retrospective cohort study involving children and adolescents with ADHD, the presence of psychiatric comorbidity in patients with ADHD was associated with an increased risk of being diagnosed with schizophrenia, with an increased risk observed in multiple comorbidities and a wide variety of comorbidities. These findings highlight the significance of assessing and managing psychiatric comorbidities in patients with ADHD to decrease subsequent schizophrenia risk and allow for early intervention.

Biopsychosocial Determinants of Quality of Life in Patients with Hepatitis B and C

Hepatitis B and C are highly contagious viral diseases that impact the liver. Past research findings have identified that in addition to the physical burden of disease, there are numerous psychopathological consequences of these diseases including depression, anxiety, stress and other psychiatric comorbidities. Objectives: To assess the prevalence of psychiatric comorbidities in patients, perceived immune status, social support, resilience, health and physical lifestyle and the predictive role of these factors in impacting quality of life in patients with Hepatitis B and C. Methods: a correlational research design was used with an independently drawn sample of 400 participants (196 with chronic HBV and 204 with chronic HCV) with the mean age of 40.8 years and a balanced gender distribution. The sample size was finalized using G power analysis with 95 % confidence intervals. Normality checks were also performed on the data through assessing skewness, kurtosis and shape of the distribution. Cross Cutting Symptoms Measure, Essential Resilience Scale, Immune Status Questionnaire, Health and Life Style Scale and WHO Qol BREF scale were used. Results: The findings showed that cross cutting symptoms (depression, anger, anxiety, somatic symptoms, suicidal ideation, psychosis, sleep problems, memory, repetitive thoughts and behaviors, dissociation, personality functioning, substance abuse) had a significant negative predictive association with health and lifestyle, perceived immune status, resilience. Conclusions: It has been assessed that cross cutting symptoms, perceived immune status, health and lifestyle factors, social support and resilience significantly impact quality of life.

Plasma Lysophosphatidic Acid Concentrations in Sex Differences and Psychiatric Comorbidity in Patients with Cocaine Use Disorder.

We have recently reported sex differences in the plasma concentrations of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) and alterations in LPA species in patients with alcohol and cocaine use disorders. Preclinical evidence suggests a main role of lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) signaling in anxiogenic responses and drug addiction. To further explore the potential role of the LPA signaling system in sex differences and psychiatric comorbidity in cocaine use disorder (CUD), we conducted a cross-sectional study with 88 patients diagnosed with CUD in outpatient treatment and 60 healthy controls. Plasma concentrations of total LPA and LPA species (16:0, 18:0, 18:1, 18:2 and 20:4) were quantified and correlated with cortisol and tryptophan metabolites [tryptophan (TRP), serotonin (5-HT), kynurenine (KYN), quinolinic acid (QUIN) and kynurenic acid (KYNA)]. We found sexual dimorphism for the total LPA and most LPA species in the control and CUD groups. The total LPA and LPA species were not altered in CUD patients compared to the controls. There was a significant correlation between 18:2 LPA and age at CUD diagnosis (years) in the total sample, but total LPA, 16:0 LPA and 18:2 LPA correlated with age at onset of CUD in male patients. Women with CUD had more comorbid anxiety and eating disorders, whereas men had more cannabis use disorders. Total LPA, 18:0 LPA and 20:4 LPA were significantly decreased in CUD patients with anxiety disorders. Both 20:4 LPA and total LPA were significantly higher in women without anxiety disorders compared to men with and without anxiety disorders. Total LPA and 16:0 LPA were significantly decreased in CUD patients with childhood ADHD. Both 18:1 LPA and 20:4 LPA were significantly augmented in CUD patients with personality disorders. KYNA significantly correlated with total LPA, 16:0 LPA and 18:2 LPA species, while TRP correlated with the 18:1 LPA species. Our results demonstrate that LPA signaling is affected by sex and psychiatric comorbidity in CUD patients, playing an essential role in mediating their anxiety symptoms.

Are Psychiatric Comorbidities in the Radiation Oncology Patient Population Under-Recognized by Providers?

Under-recognition of psychiatric comorbidities may be directly tied to potential for poorer patient outcomes. However, there is a paucity of data in radiation oncology settings. This study hypothesized that a disparity exists between the perceived prevalence of psychiatric comorbidities in patients receiving radiotherapy and the rate at which radiation oncologists screen patients for anxiety and depression. From April-July 2021 an online survey was conducted of radiation oncologist members of ASTRO with self-identified practice specializations. Randomly selected invitations were electronically sent to providers from diverse practice backgrounds and geographic locations within the United States and Canada and was conducted using an IRB-reviewed, institutionally approved Microsoft Forms platform. The questionnaire consisted of 20 items examining a broad range of factors that involved general practice demographics, patient screening practice patterns, treatment details and preferred options, and availability and referral data for specialist care for possible psychiatric comorbidities. Statistical analysis was performed using Fisher's exact test. For questions with Yes/No responses, exact binomial test was used. A total of 500online invitations were emailed with 55 responses. Of the responders, 3 did not provide consent. Therefore, 52 (10.4%) responses were included in the analysis and are the subject of this report. This response rate is consistent with other published studies of this type. 85% (p<0.001) of respondents identified the need to screen for psychiatric comorbidities in radiation oncology settings. However, 71% (p = 0.003) did not perform formal screening for psychiatric comorbidities, and of those who did screen, there was no uniformity in the screening tool utilized. Likewise, 79% (p<0.001) did not initiate treatment for psychiatric condition(s). Of providers that did initiate treatment, 91% (p = 0.012) felt that psychiatric comorbidities were under-diagnosed in their patient population. No association was made between providers who specialize in CNS malignancies as being more likely to recognize psychiatric comorbidities in their patient population versus those who do not. Importantly, 75% self-reported that they would benefit from additional training to assess psychiatric comorbidities (p<0.001). A need to screen for psychiatric comorbidities in radiation oncology settings was identified despite very little formal screening performed. Responses revealed adequate community resources exist for referral in most instances. However, providers did not routinely refer patients for treatment of psychiatric comorbidities, even when recognized. This survey identified an unmet need for improved education among providers to engage in screening and referral for psychiatric comorbidities, and to develop a care system that supports standardization of screening practices and tools in this patient population.

Nationwide, Multioperator Self-Exclusion and Psychiatric Comorbidity in Patients with Gambling Disorder: A Retrospective Chart Review Study from a Regional Treatment Unit.

Gambling disorder is an addictive disorder that has been shown to have a detrimental effect on an individual's health, social, and financial situations. Voluntary self-exclusion is one way for patients to reduce harm in gambling disorder, but breaching one's self-exclusion appears to be common. In January 2019, Sweden launched a nationwide, multioperator self-exclusion instrument called Spelpaus (literally "game break"). Spelpaus is unique to Sweden, and there is limited research on the use of this type of nationwide, multioperator self-exclusion services, also in relation to gambling disorder and mental health. There is a reason to follow the clinical picture of treatment seeking for gambling disorder over time, and this study aims to explore clinical characteristics of patients seeking clinical gambling disorder treatment, including sex distribution and mental health comorbidity, as well as the use of Spelpaus amongst patients with gambling disorder and how frequently users gambled despite ongoing self-exclusion, in relation to sex and psychiatric comorbidities. A retrospective chart study was carried out on patients presenting to a regional gambling disorder treatment unit. Information regarding self-exclusions using Spelpaus, gambling despite self-exclusion, and the method of gambling despite self-exclusion as well as psychiatric comorbidities were extracted from medical records. Females were markedly more likely to report overall psychiatric comorbidities (48% vs. 25% among males, p < 0.001), affective, neurotic/anxiety-related (p < 0.001), and behavioral/emotional (p = 0.028) diagnoses and more likely to have two or more diagnoses excluding gambling disorder (p = 0.001). From 120 patients from whom information regarding self-exclusion was present, 114 (95%) had chosen to self-exclude. From the 114 self-excluders, 67 reported to have gambled despite self-exclusion, with unregistered websites being the most common method. Self-exclusion was not significantly related to sex (p = 0.146) or to psychiatric comorbidities (p = 0.178). In conclusion, psychiatric comorbidity was particularly common in female gambling disorder patients and gambling despite self-exclusion was common. Gambling regulations should be improved to help self-excluders avoid being able to gamble on unlicensed gambling operators. Further research should focus on sex differences and the association with psychiatric comorbidities.

Psychiatric comorbidity in patients with migraine

ABSTRACT Background: Comorbidity of various psychiatric conditions with migraine is common and important. A thorough analysis of mental conditions in migraine is essential to encourage the holistic care of such patients. Aim: To assess psychiatric comorbidity in patients with migraine using a well-standardized clinical diagnostic tool. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the outpatient department of a tertiary care hospital in North India. Persons with migraine attending the facility were enrolled as per the inclusion and exclusion criteria set for this study. The ICD-10 mental disorder symptom checklist was the principal tool to assess the psychiatric comorbidity in the patients. Results: Total Patients recruited were 146 out of which 70.5% had a psychiatric comorbidity. Depressive disorder (17.1%) was the most common while delusional disorder (4.1%) was the least common psychiatric disorder comorbid with migraine. Other comorbid psychiatric diagnoses were recurrent depressive episodes (6.8%), dysthymia (10.3%), bipolar affective disorder (7.5%), panic disorder (5.5%), generalized anxiety disorder (8.2%), mixed and other anxiety disorders (6.2%), obsessive-compulsive disorder (6.2%), post-traumatic stress disorder (4.8%), adjustment disorders (5.5%), dissociative (conversion) disorders (6.8%), and somatoform disorders (6.2%). Lower socioeconomic status and the presence of aura with migraine are two important patient-related factors linked with the occurrence of any psychiatric comorbidity in migraine. Conclusion: The prevalence of comorbid psychiatric disorders in migraine patients is very high. The relationship between demographic and medical information of people with migraine with individual psychiatric comorbidities is complex.

Depression and anxiety in people with hemophilia A and B.

This study described the prevalence of and correlates of depression and anxiety in adult patients with hemophilia A and B. In this cross-sectional study, we investigated patients with hemophilia who were being seen at an adult hemophilia center. Participants were screened for depression and anxiety during their annual clinic visit, which included administration of the Beck Depression Inventory and State-Trait Anxiety Scale. Of the 90 patients, 22 (24.4%) met criteria for significant depressive symptoms and and 67 (74.4%) met criteria for significant anxiety symptoms. There were no significant associations between depression and any psychosocial or clinical characteristics or adherence to hemophilia prophylaxis, except for educational status. No association was found between state and trait anxiety scores and psychosocial and clinical characteristics other than hemophilia type. After adjusting for confounding factors, multivariable analysis showed that high school education level was associated with depression (OR: 1.872, CI: 1.312-2.356, P = .010) and type B hemophilia was associated with anxiety (OR: 1.319, CI: 1.089-1.745, P = .042). Depression and anxiety are major psychiatric comorbidities in patients with hemophilia in Turkey. Psychiatric comorbidities in patients suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus admitted to a tertiary care hospital in Northern India.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease with multiorgan involvement presenting with a myriad of symptoms, including neuropsychiatric symptoms. Although many studies have evaluated screening questionnaires based psychiatric morbidity, very few studies have used contemporary diagnostic criteria. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of psychiatric disorders in patients with SLE admitted to a tertiary care hospital. A total of 79 patients diagnosed with SLE for at least for 1year, who were not in delirium were assessed by a qualified psychiatrist for psychiatric morbidity as per the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10) criteria. Additionally, these patients were assessed on Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) item version, Patient Health Questionnaire-15 (PHQ-15) item version, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 item scale and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). 51% (n = 40) of the participants were diagnosed with a psychiatric diagnosis, with depressive disorders being the most common, seen in 36.7% (n = 29) of the participants. Additionally, 10% (n = 8) participants were diagnosed with adjustment disorder and 2.5% (n = 2) were diagnosed with anxiety (not otherwise specified). Only one patient was diagnosed with organic psychosis. On PHQ-9, 39.8% (n = 33) were diagnosed with depression. 44.3% (n = 35) expressed death wishes and/or suicidal ideations. On PHQ-15, 17.7% (n = 14) of the participants scored for severe somatic distress (score >15). On GAD-7, 55.7% (n = 44) screened positive for anxiety symptoms, but only 7.6% (n = ) had a score of 15 or more to indicate severe anxiety. Nearly half (n = 43; 52%) of the participants also had cognitive impairment as assessed on MoCA, with 13.3% (n = 11) of the participants having scores indicating severe dementia. Patients with SLE have a high prevalence of psychiatric comorbidities and should be routinely screened for psychiatric morbidity. They should be appropriately treated, to improve the overall treatment outcomes.

A Study On The Quality Of Life And Psychiatric Comorbidities In Patients Of Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy In A Tertiary Care Center In North India (P1-1.007)

<h3>Objective:</h3> To assess quality of life in patients with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy with special emphasis on social, psychological, relationships and vocational aspects of life To screen and classify psychiatric co morbidities in patients with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy <h3>Background:</h3> Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (JME) is exemplary of a well-defined age-related genetic epilepsy syndrome representing 5–11 % of all epilepsy cases &amp; 3–11 % of all adolescent epilepsy cases. 74% of JME patients have at least one major marker of unfavorable social outcome. One of the contributing factors maybe the distinct personality profile such as unsteadiness, lack of discipline and an indifference to their disease. JME though usually well controlled, may adversely impact the Quality of Life. <h3>Design/Methods:</h3> This was an observational cross – sectional study carried out over a period of 18 months in a tertiary center at Delhi. Sample size was 50. Patients fulfilling the diagnostic criteria of Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy according to ILAE criteria 2001 were included in the study. They underwent a structured questionnaire to assess for the impact of JME on the Quality of Life. QOLIE-48 AD and QOLIE 31 P was used for adolescent and adult population respectively. Then they underwent M.I.N.I 7.0.2. Those testing positive for psychiatric disorders underwent DSM-5 categorization. <h3>Results:</h3> We found two important determinants of reduced Quality of Life in the adolescent patients – Physical Functioning [Mean score :57.36 ± 18.94] &amp; Health perception [Mean score: 57.36 ± 18.94] respectively. Quality of Life −31 P score [Mean score: 62.29 ± 25.02] was fair in (37.21 %) of adults. Academic underachievement was seen in 1(2%), 1(2%) public gatherings, 2 (4%) expressed fear of breaking marriage . Anxiety was found in (10%) and depression in (6%). <h3>Conclusions:</h3> Anxiety and depression were the comorbid psychiatric disorders in the study population The concurrent presence of these comorbid conditions must be addressed to improve the quality of life. <b>Disclosure:</b> Dr. Choudhury has nothing to disclose.
