The plant growth regulator floroxan, 3,3,3-trifluoro-2-hydroxy-2-[4-(methylamino)phenyl]propionic acid ethyl ester hydrochloride, is the development of the Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INEOS RAS) and has been studied for many years. To improve the physicochemical properties of floroxan, many research efforts have been aimed at developing its application forms. Having high efficiency at a dose of 100 mg/L, floroxan has great prospects for the use as a component in compositions with the known preparations for pre-sowing treatment of seeds of cultivated plants. The recent joint studies of researchers from Russia and Uzbekistan allowed for developing and offering for agriculture the promising preparations such as protectants for cereal crops, herbicide antidotes, and compositions for cotton and a number of vegetable crops.
