Design of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) on Smart Fertilizer Distribution System

The control system in agriculture is an important study to regulate the application of fertilizers to plants. The control system can use PLC control system which has good system robustness and easy program language. The purpose of this research is to design a simulated fertilizer irrigation system based on a programmable logic controller (PLC) system. The PLC program used is CX-program and the simulator circuit uses Fluidsim simulator. The system components used are the main reservoir, pump, solenoid valve, valve, level sensor, and light indicator. The system is organized by dividing inputs and outputs that are directly integrated into the PLC system. The components are arranged using fluidsim and the PLC control system using CX-Programmer using ladder logic language. The control system integration and system circuitry are connected using KeepServerEX. The output of this system is a successful operation function and a digital system response to the time of the system. From the results of the system response provides a fairly good timeliness so that this irrigation system can be considered in the implementation of fertilizer delivery system

Design and simulation of PLC and HMI-Based control and monitoring system of compressed air application in a pineapple cannery industry

Energy Conservation or ENERCON is the main concern of every industry today. With the advent of new technology installed in the process line, the need to address the conservation of applied energy such as steam, water, electricity, and compressed air are still the core to run an industrial plant. The use of compressed air as a blower is widely used now a day for several benefit compared to running the blowing system with the motor. The system presented in this study is used to automatically switch off the compressed air that serves as a can top blower before printing whenever there are no can detected in the conveyors in a pineapple cannery industry. The cutting off of the compressed air used will result in significant saving in the plant-wide drive on conserving energy. The hardware composition, control system design, software application and simulation of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) - based monitoring and control system of compressed air are present in this work. The system’s main components are PLC, HMI, Inductive sensors and Directional valves. This paper focuses on the application for a pineapple manufacturing plant but not limited to the compressed air application but for all the industrial utilities mention above.

Design Robot Hand Pneumatic System Simulation Using PLC Control for Mechatronics Learning Applications

The Pneumatic System is a power transfer system utilizing compressed air as an intermediate medium. In conventional operation it is operated fully pneumatically or in combination with electricity (electropneumatic). In recent years it can be combined and controlled with a programmable logic controller (PLC). The operation of the pneumatic system with the PLC control system is carried out by desaign a program with a program language, one of which is the Ladder Diagram accompanied by I/O addressing, then the result design program must be transferred to the PLC as the controller of the pneumatic system in this case the controller. robot hand.
 This study aims to obtain a pneumatic robot hand circuit and a series of ladder diagram programs to control the PLC system in the robot's hand. The results of this research can be used as a reference in designing a pneumatic system with PLC control in the future.

Application of PLC in Variable Frequency Constant Pressure Control System for Mine Emulsion Pump Station

Programmable logic controller (PLC) is an automatic control device made of microcomputer technology. It is based on sequential control, supplemented by loop adaptive, can complete logical judgment, timing, memory and numerical functions. The application of PLC in the variable frequency and constant pressure control system of mine emulsion pump station is studied. The emulsion pump station for mine is introduced. Based on the practice of energy saving, safety and protection equipment, the application of variable frequency speed regulation and constant pressure technology in emulsion pump is described. The working principle and PLC control system of emulsion pump control system are introduced by means of PLC circuit control. The experimental results show that the design of variable frequency and constant pressure control system based on PLC can greatly save energy consumption. In the variable frequency state, the average temperature of the pump body does not exceed 45°, indicating that the variable frequency constant voltage control system can improve the service life of the equipment.

Design and Implementation of an over Current Protection Laboratory for Electrical Power Transmission Systems Based on PLC Techniques

This paper describes a modern approach for the protection of transmission lines to ensure theirsafety against the faults occurred in power systems. Our approach uses a Programmable LogicController (PLC) to realize a transmission line as an over current protection relay. A conditioningcircuit was designed, implemented and tested to collect data obtained from Hall Effect sensors which convert them to suitable analog values compatible with PLC's inputs. Results obtained by our PLC control system are very similar to those obtained by the conventional relays but more efficient. An Automatic Reclosing System (ARS) for remote faults is also included in this approach. Our PLC control system and its algorithm are illustrated in this paper also. This approach is designed to be used in electrical networks laboratories as an educational unit in electrical departments of engineering collages and technical institutes; it can be used also in real power systems through suitable interfacing facilities.

Smart Diesel Generator Control System

This paper introduces a user-friendly PLC (programmable logic controller) monitoring and control system of heavy machinery using Android based smartphone. The proposed system will control diesel generator and many such like machine without a dedicated PC with respect to similar system and offers a new communication protocol for handling it. The smartphone controls the generator via Wi-Fi, through which it connects to the Raspberry pi which will be installed in the PLC panel to setup the communication between them. Furthermore, Raspberry pi connects to two devices, one is PLC which gives the status and current information of the machine and to ON/OFF the machine. This proposed system used RS485 as a key mediator for data exchanging between Raspberry PI(master) and PLC(slave). RS485 allows multiple devices (up to 32) to communicate at half duplex on single pair of wires and provides a long connectivity area (up to 1200 meters) as compared to another device. This proposed system specially focused on accurate data flow between smartphone and PLC panel.

Automation of Soda Ash Handling System using PLC and SCADA in Glass Production Line

Automation is a one of the most popular technology. Now a day’s all production based industries need automation, because it gives more advantages over manual control system such as it reduce the man power, it reduces the operational errors, it reduce the failure rates, Easy to trouble shoot the system, it reduce the maintenance cost, it eliminate the hard wiring, it gives less rejection etc. The main aim of the paper is to automate the soda ash handling system in glass production line at leading glass production industry. The glass production line all systems are controlled by DCS (Distributed control system) but some sub systems are controlled by electromechanical relay system (Hard wired control system). The relay control system looks toward many issues. To limit that issues the system change from relay control system to PLC (Programmable logic controller) control system, because it gives more advantages over relay control system. In this proposed system all parameters are controlled, processed and monitored with help of Allen Bradley PLC and Wonderware intouch SCADA software.

The detection of empty resist bottles or air in the resist lines of a photolithography coating tool

The process of photolithography uses light to imprint an image onto a wafer coated with photoresist in order to create integrated circuits or other technology such as read/write heads for hard drives. During this process, reservoir switching units can fail to detect resist on the photolithography tool or the Millipore pump, thus introducing air into the resist lines and ultimately causing scrap due to poor dispenses. This is difficult to detect via operator inspection. It is important to improve the dispense system of a photolithography coating tool because with the increasing cost of photoresist there is a need for less waste. There are more read/write heads on a wafer and larger wafers are being used; therefore, if the photolithography coating tool has a poor dispense which is not detected and a wafer is scrapped, this will increase manufacturing costs. By reducing the amount of scrap and reworks there will be a reduction in the time to produce a single wafer, thus reducing the overall production costs of making a single read/write head and staying more competitive in the hard drive market. This paper outlines a method for detecting empty resist bottles or air in the resist lines using programmable logic controller (PLC) technology in conjunction with a relay dispense system to monitor the dispense system from a remote station, thereby improving the process and reducing the cost of manufacturing read/write heads. Overall there are less dispense errors and thus less rework and scrap, meaning that the wafer yield has improved and therefore the cost of manufacturing a read/write head has reduced and the time to market has improved. Due to the success of the PLC control system, it will be implemented across other coating tools in the factory.

PLC Control System of Cutting Fixed-Length Plates and Simulation Debugging

PLC (programmable logic controller) is one type of general industrial control platforms. Based on the PLC of SIMENS S7-200 series, this paper introduces a control scheme of cutting metal plates control system in the flame cutting machine. The hardware design and PLC program are given in details, which achieve accurate position and fixed-length cutting by the stepper motor through the control of PLC. In addition, the configuration simulation of the system is performed by the application of King view software. The control system has multiple operating modes, high reliability, stability and is able to meet the variety of different work requirements. The automatic control of cutting metal plates is achieved. The control system is applied to actual projects and can greatly enhance productivity.

Coal-Conveying Control System for the Pressure of Coal Waste Heat Power Generation Based on PLC

This paper constructs a coal-conveying control system based on programmable logic controller (PLC), which is applied to the residual heat and pressure integrated energy-saving technological transformation projects, and realizes the performance of security, reliable and efficient operation. This control system consists of the PLC control system, computer control system and industrial television monitoring system. After more than one year of actual operation shows that the system structure is reasonable, reliable operation, at the same time, reduce labor intensity, improve the utilization rate of equipment, the stable operation also provides a practical reference for other similar projects.

The Study of PLC Control Technology Application in Motor VVVF System

This paper studies the PLC control technology application in motor VVVF system, firstly we introduce the basic working principle and features of the PLC, then supply some technical guidance for the PLC control technology applications combined with DC motors and AC induction motors in PLC control system.

Design and Implement of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for Classical Control Laboratory

The design and implementation of a classical control system laboratory based on PLC control system is introduced in this paper. To design and implement the system, two parts must be produced. The first is software for PLC and the second is hardware for experiments related to the programs. The PLC control system used in the design is LS industrial system company GM7-DR40A 24/16 Digital I/O and single Analog I/O module, two photoelectric sensors from Atonic company’: the first with the model BR100-DDT-P, and the second BEN10M-TFR. An approximate sensor with 5-sides is detected, four of CMOS BCD-7-Segment driven by CD4511B, two relays: 2-poles and 3-poles, six voltages and an ammeter measurement, DC motor and 24 VDC power supply and many connecters and pinions. Satisfactory results are obtained by executing twenty four experiments for classical control theory that fulfill the requirements of control theory in undergraduate stage and replace the old experiments executed by PID controller where the practice system is implemented by PLC control now.

Design of Alternating Impact Machine with High Temperature and Pressure Resistance

The alternating impact machine with high temperature and pressure resistance is a kind of equipment to make the fatigue experiment for rubber pipe in the auto industry. This article mainly introduces the work principle and the design of hydraulic pressure system and temperature control system of the alternating impact machine. This system uses Siemens S7-200 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) control the temperature, impact of water or oil pulse and the impact control of test-bed. The master machine is monitored by the King View. The combination of PLC with the soft of King View is propitious to design and examine the PLC control system and possesses good practical value.
