Immigration Causes: Threats And Implication for Europe

EU immigration has therefore caused the formation of a complex and controversial social and political process as a result of interrelated factors that are economic, political and social. Immigration in the European environment is discussed in this thesis through the identification of causes, impacts and challenges. For these reason, comers have arrived in Europe through several reasons like conflicts, poverty, and search for other better opportunities that have impacted societies in Europe, especially in the change of demography which can be seen as opportunities by some and challenges by others. Therefore, the goals of the present study are confined to the social, political, and economic consequences of Immigration in Europe. This paper considers the problem, challenges faced to services, social integration problems, and national security problems on the other side, it also considers the positive face of the immigrants in terms of diversification of culture, as being the economic boosters, and the solution of demography issues. As it turns out analyzing once again the discourses of populism and nationalism that came to the fore with the focus on immigration, the thesis measures the trends thrown up by the above discourses and their impact on shaping the desirable and non-discriminatory immigration policies at both European and national levels. In its economic part, it compares the supplanting of skills, the possibility of immigrants as innovators, and the role of an immigrant in pension schemes on the one hand, and immigrants competing for a job and taking the social welfare of society, on the other. To strengthen the criticism of grassroots utilization, the research emphasizes the need for integrating a hitherto juxtaposition of immigration, namely causes and domestic consequences. In this regard, this paper highlights the need to pursue conscious policies on integration and harmonization for purposes of fostering the development of social solidarity and proper management of implied diversity and inclusion.

ПРОБЛЕМЫ СОЦИАЛЬНОЙ ИНТЕГРАЦИИ ИНОСТРАННЫХ СТУДЕНТОВ В ВУЗАХ КАЗАХСТАНА

This work examines the problem of social integration of international students. The work analyzes scientific sources, as well as psychological and pedagogical literature, and assesses the level of social integration of students, which should be taken into account in the process of their communication and study. The definitions of "social adaptation" are disclosed in the article. The author conducts an anonymous survey using an online platform to identify the problems that foreign students face in the process of social adaptation, and draws conclusions about the factors that have an exact impact on the integration of students in domestic universities.The article notes the positive effect that co-education of foreign students with domestic students has on the development of the status of a higher educational institution, as well as on a deeper understanding by foreign students of the values of the environment in which they have immersed themselves. It should be noted that the author of the article emphasizes that the involvement of foreign students in the educational and educational process develops their personalities as full-fledged members of the society of the country in which they study at a higher educational institution.

VALUE BASES OF FORMATION AND STRENGTHENING OF THE ALL-RUSSIAN IDENTITY IN THE PERCEPTIONS OF YOUNG PEOPLE

The article presents some results of the author's sociological research on the problems of determining the value bases for the formation and strengthening of the all-Russian identity in the perceptions of young people, conducted within the framework of the project "Youth in Interethnic Communications: Intolerance, Tolerance, Dialogue" in 2020, 2021 and 2022. The focus of this paper is the analysis of the axiological foundations of the national idea as the basis of all-Russian identity in the assessments of young people aged 16-21. It has been substantiated that young people's ideas about national goals reflect both interests directly related to the life of young people themselves (education, living conditions, etc.) and national interests (ecology, health, eradication of corruption, friendship of the country's peoples, etc.). It was revealed that the majority of young people, regardless of gender and age, place (urban/rural) and region of residence, realize the need for the existence of national ideas that integrate Russians, and in general positively assess the possibility of social integration. The leading ideas-integrators were analyzed, including terminal values: health, decent and comfortable life, as well as values symbolizing the most important social problems of Russian society: property stratification and inequality, poverty, education, corruption. Gender and regional differences in young people's assessments of the importance of integrative values for strengthening the all-Russian identity were characterized. The integrative potential of young people was assessed. The article reveals the peculiarities of young people's attitude to the national goals broadcast by the state, as well as the prospects and the degree of social subjectivity of young people in the context of solving the problems of social integration.

THE SELECTIVE IMMIGRATION POLICY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION IN THE LABOUR MARKET FOR THE NON-EU NATIONALS

Migration is an indispensable option for people to sustain their life cycle and improve their quality of life. In the 20th century and beyond, we have seen immigration policies among the common policies of the European Union, mainly due to the rise in immigration and the need for workers. The EU's Common Immigration Policy is a set of social and economic policies in which a balanced approach is adopted and measures are taken to promote orderly and irregular migration practices are applied. The paper will highlight the EU's aim for a qualified immigration policy. The study's research question is to question why the EU is setting up an immigration policy that balances economic prosperity with the labour market. The study examined the situation of EU and non-EU migrant workers in terms of EU selective immigration policy, wage inequalities, social integration problems and discrimination in the labour market. The study is covered in three sections. In section one, international migration and labour migration are studied in a theoretical framework. The second section examines the EU's selective immigration policy and its impact on the labour market. The third section focuses on the integration problems faced by immigrants from EU and non-EU countries in the labour market.

In the case of social integration between the two Koreas, as mentioned earlier, it should be defined whether to be social integration in the sense of institutionalizing conflict or social integration in the sense of social ties. This is because the two Koreas should not only integrate at the physical level, but also integrate internally between the members of the two Koreas. Therefore, this study selected and explored papers on the subject of North Korean defectors and social integration. This study would like to collect papers for social integration for four and a half years from 2019 to June 2023 and analyze the contents according to research methods and topics to suggest directions for social integration of North Korean defectors in the future. Congenital malformations registered in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2019-2021

Abstract Congenital malformations are defined as structural or functional anomalies that occur in utero or at birth and can be detected at an early age. They are also known as birth defects, disabilities or congenital malformations. Congenital malformations are accompanied by hereditary or developmental disabilities or disease. From the establishment of the registry in early 2019 until the end of 2021, the total number of reported congenital malformations is 449. According to available data from EUROCAT (European network of population-based registries for the epidemiological surveillance of congenital anomalies), the average rate of congenital malformations in the countries of the European Union (EU) is 262/per 10,000 live births, while the registered rate of congenital malformations in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 261/per 10,000 live births. In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the highest incidence rate was registered in Sarajevo Canton (175 cases with a rate of 416/10,000 live births) and Tuzla Canton (122 cases with a rate of 356/10,000 live births). The most common congenital malformations are heart defects, cleft lip and palate, musculoskeletal deformities and Down syndrome. In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) in 2020, 135 children under the age of 5 died, among which 18 children (13.3%) died from congenital malformations, deformations and chromosomal abnormalities (Q00-Q99). Congenital malformations can lead to chronic diseases and disabilities, death of infants and children up to five years of age. Congenital malformations represent a significant public health problem, given that they lead to disability, incapacity and pressure on the health system, as well as the problem of social integration of patients. Key messages • The registered rate of congenital malformations in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 261/per 10,000 live births. • Congenital malformations can lead to chronic diseases and disabilities, death of infants and children up to five years of age.

Applicability of Possible Models to Ensure Easy Access to Employment For RA Students

In this article, a number of issues of student employment are considered, related to solving the problems of interaction between universities and the labor market, ensuring unhindered access of students to the labor market, and also determining ways to prevent the negative impact of student employment on the quality of education. Thus, the informational model of interaction between the university and the labor market, the motivational model of student behavior, as well as the organization of employment of students according to their future profession or related professions are of great importance for increasing the level of professional training of students, professional adaptation and solving problems of social integration in the industrial environment.

Traumatic brain injury and suicidality among military veterans: The mediating role of social integration

Suicide is a widespread public health concern, including among military Veterans. Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and lack of social integration have both been shown to increase risk for suicidality, an outcome that includes, among other suicide-related variables, suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, and suicide death. Interestingly, TBIs have also been identified as a risk factor for social integration problems. In this cross-sectional study we investigated associations between TBI, social integration, and suicidality. Additionally, mediation analysis was used to test whether social integration mediated the association between TBI and suicidality. A sample of 1469 military Veterans (male, n = 1004, 67.2 %; female, n = 457, 32.3 %; transgender/non-binary/prefer not to say, n = 8, 0.5 %) completed an online survey as part of the Military Health and Well-Being Project. TBI was negatively associated with social integration (r = −0.084, p < .001) and positively with suicidality (r = 0.205, p < .001). Social integration was negatively associated with suicidality (r = −0.161, p < .001). Finally, social integration partially mediated the relationship between TBI and social integration (B = 0.121, 95 % CI [0.031–0.23]). This work shows that in the context of TBI, lack of social integration may promote suicidality. It provides support for many theories of suicide which propose social problems as a risk factor of suicide-related outcomes. It further highlights social integration as potential fodder for novel interventions for suicidality, an approach that would have transtheoretical support.

The Processes and Problems of Social Integration of Refugees in Greece in the 21st Century

Abstract Refugee populations constitute a new reality for Greek society. These moving populations contribute to a process of redefining social and cultural status in the countries of reception. The following article was written as part of the author’s PhD thesis. The research method used is that of qualitative research through semi-structured in-depth interviews with refugees and asylum seekers. The article refers to part of field research results that focus on the forms of social integration adopted by refugees and asylum seekers in Greece, as well as how integration or exclusion is perceived by the latter. The aim of this research is to portray the experiences of the refugees on the process of their social integration into Greece.

SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT AND HIGHER EDUCATION: NORTH EAST INDIAN TRIBAL STUDENTS IN NON-NATIVE URBAN ENVIRONMENT

This paper attempts to elucidate various social adjustment problems faced by tribal students while migrating to cities away from their native state for the first time for higher education. Through this study, the researchers envisage comprehending the social adjustment problems of tribal students while being confronted by the changes due to a non-native urban environment. The adjustment problems range from adapting to non-native culture to acquiring workable knowledge in the vernacular. Indeed, it is time-consuming and can be strenuous for many. Here, an attempt is made to assess the social integration problems among tribal educational migrants qualitatively. The researchers have adopted a case study approach in this social investigation. Tribal students enrolled in Pondicherry University from states other than Puducherry were chosen for this study. Twelve cases were selected through purposive sampling. Data collection involved in-depth interviews based on an expressly designed interview guide. Thematic analysis of the transcripts yielded a catalogue of highlighted themes that helped arrive at a few conclusions. The researchers made recommendations based on the knowledge generated and recognized the scope for further investigation.

When (Non)Differences Make a Difference: The Roles of Demographic Diversity and Ideological Homogeneity in Overcoming Ideologically Biased Decision Making

Increasing demographic diversity is undoubtedly important and can aid in debiasing decision makers. Yet, the promises of demographic diversity are not always realized due to social integration problems. We consider why and for whom differences combined with homogeneity make a difference for groups in terms of integratively complex thinking and ideological decision making. Although research has shown that decision makers often rely on political biases, that work has not addressed when and why decision-making groups are able to overcome these biases—a pervasive concern in today’s politically polarized social milieu. Drawing on the common in-group identity model and research on integrative complexity, we theorize that demographic diversity ultimately yields less ideological decision making because it prompts integrative complexity; however, demographic diversity only accrues this benefit in the presence of ideological homogeneity. We also reason that the relationship between integrative complexity and reduced ideological decision making emerges for more conservative (versus more liberal) groups. We find support for our expectations using a natural experiment of judges on the U.S. Courts of Appeals. Supplemental analyses indicate that working within a demographically diverse and ideologically homogeneous group also positively predicts integrative complexity in future decision-making groups. Finally, we find that demographic and ideological diversity can substitute for one another, but no additional integrative complexity benefits accrue when both are present. We discuss implications of this research in light of the ongoing conversation about the value of diversity and today’s polarized political climate. Demographic change is one of the major social changes in recent years. And the core trend of these demographic changes is the declining birthrate and aging population. As for the current demographic structure, the number of young people is decreasing due to the falling fertility rate and the proportion of the elderly is increasing, and this trend is expected to continue for the time being. This reality we are now facing causes the need for a systematic response through paradigm shift rather than recognizing the low birth rate and aging population as a unique population phenomenon.&#x0D; The low fertility and aging population is a social phenomenon that appears as a relatively large number of people choose not to conceive and have children. And since these backgrounds and causes have limitations that are difficult to overcome by individual strength, not only the basic view of 'the right of pregnancy and childbirth', but also the problem of social integration through national identity, issues of sustainability and intergenerational justice, etc. It is necessary to discuss public law from the point of view of national tasks.&#x0D; In conclusion, in response to the low birth rate and aging population, national policies should not only maintain national sustainability, but also create a fertility and parenting-friendly environment so that individuals can respect their choices and happiness. In addition, in order to improve the social and economic structure, which is the cause of the low birth rate and aging population, it is of utmost importance to set the legislative direction considering the stabilization of the working environment and the sharing of the burden of childrearing through work-family balance. Now is the time to sympathize with the seriousness of the low fertility and aging problem and to focus on solving the direct cause of the problem.

КАЧЕСТВО ЖИЗНИ СЕМЕЙ С ДЕТЬМИ С РАССТРОЙСТВАМИ АУТИСТИЧЕСКОГО СПЕКТРА В СРАВНЕНИИ С КАЧЕСТВОМ ЖИЗНИ СЕМЕЙ С НЕЙРОТИПИЧНЫМИ ДЕТЬМИ: РЕЗУЛЬТАТЫ ОПРОСА И ИНТЕРВЬЮ

Introduction. The significant increase in the number of people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) today makes it relevant to study the quality of life of families raising children with ASD compared to families of neurotypical children. Aim. The aim of the study was to identify the quality of life of families with children with ASD and to compare it with the quality of life of families with neurotypical children to determine the level of deprivation. Material and Methods. The study involved: 1. А survey of parents of neurotypical children and children with autism, based on The Beach Center on Disability at the University of Kansas «Concepts and Methods for Measuring Family Quality of Life» questionnaire. Verification of this instrument was ensured by double translating the questionnaire (English-Russian-English), and a pilot survey of parents (N=112) was conducted. One hundred and nine parents of neurotypical children in 19 Russian cities were interviewed. 2. Semi-structured interviews with parents of children with ASD (N=40). We performed a standardization procedure in which the responses of the participants were converted into scores for each subscale by calculating the average score. Results and discussion. The survey showed a set of problems in the accessibility of social and medical care, education, and safety concerns that were significantly lower compared to the results of the survey of parents of neurotypical children. Comparison of the survey data with the results of parent interviews revealed detailed experiences of daily life for families with children with ASD. There were significant differences in seeking medical care: 82.5% of parents with neurotypical children are satisfied with the medical care they receive, while for parents of children with ASD, this figure is much lower - 64.3%. Slightly more than half are satisfied with home, work, school and neighborhood safety (42.9% satisfied, 9.8% completely satisfied). The proportion of parents of neurotypical children who are completely satisfied with safety is 28.4% and 42.2% who are satisfied. Most parents support inclusive or integrative education (they could choose more than one answer). 72.3% considered the most effective education for children with autism in classes with children without disabilities, a little more than half (54.5%) supported inclusive education. They also consider education in special classes in general schools to be effective. 8.9% of parents support home schooling. Conclusion. The findings reveal dangerous trends in the marginalization of families with children with ASD compared to families with neurotypical children. The solution to the problems of social integration must consider the indicators of these inequalities, both in terms of the quality of life of both the child and his/her immediate family.

치매 대상자 및 가족 케어를 위한 캡스톤 디자인 기반 보건 ․ 복지 융복합 교과목 개발*

The purpose of this study is to develop the captone design based- multidisciplinary curriculum, for the cooperative intervention and management of nursing and social welfare would be effective for helping people with dementia and their families in the community and solving their problems. To accomplish the above-mentioned purpose, the hybrid model was partially applied. The characteristics of dementia were discovered through the literature research and analysis, and the datum about the problems of people with dementia and their caregivers were gathered and analysed through the interview with a professional worker in a nursing home. As a result, the main purposes of the capstone design curriculum and the core competencies which the multidisciplinary professionals in dementia areas should have were derived, and based on this, the multidisciplinary capstone design curriculum for people with dementia and their families was developed. This curriculum would be helpful to vitalize the field-based lesson, to link actively classes with the community agencies, and to serve families with dementia patients in the community. In addition, the outputs which students will produce by this curriculum would help with students’ portfolio for their employment. Finnish case will be a positive model for solving the social integration problems facing Korean society.

The Digital Educational Environment: The Problem of Its Accessibility for Visually Impaired Students

The changes taking place in recent decades in the humanitarian sphere of the life of Russian society are manifested in the increased attention to problems of social integration of people with disabilities. The social state policy concerning such people is increasingly focused on creating equal opportunities so as to participate in the life of society and get involved in socially useful activities. One of the most important aspects of equal opportunities for the visually impaired is ensuring the access to information and opportunity to participate in public information exchange. The process of society informatization makes the solution of these problems even more urgent. In this regard, the wide distribution of digital electronic resources is of particular importance, taking into account the requirements for the visually impaired and computer technology. In the given research there substantiated possibilities of using digital educational resources, computer typhlotechnologies when interacting with the information public. Such results can be implemented in the organization of both academic and corporate education. The developed approaches can be used by various groups of developers to create their own digital educational environment

The negative impact of bullying victimization on academic literacy and social integration: Evidence from 51 countries in PISA

Abstract Exploiting data of 210,523 students in 51 countries from the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), we estimate the causal effect of bullying victimization on adolescents’ academic literacy and social integration by using Logistic model, coarsened exact matching (CEM), and structural equation model (SEM). This article reviews risk and influencing factors associated with bullying victimization within the context of Bronfenbrenner’s ecological framework. The results indicate that: (1) boys, middle school students, repeaters, and truancy report significantly higher bullying victimization; (2) bullying victimization is associated with poor academic achievement and social integration problems such as bad classmate relations, lack of school belonging, and sense of loneliness; (3) study time, academic engagement, and online socialization are identified as the mediators between bully victimization and academic literacy and social integration. The findings highlight the importance of creating a safe and positive school environment to fight against negative outcomes associated with bullying victimization.

Роль международного права как особой системы права в преодолении проблем межкультурного взаимодействия и социальной интеграции, связанных с миграционными процессами в современном мире

The article is devoted to the functional potential of international law as an ideological form of law in overcoming the problems associated with migration processes. Currently, migration is an unavoidable objective (and generally positive) phenomenon. However, it gives rise to a number of problems, among which the main problem is the problem of intercultural interaction and the integration of migrants in the recipient society. This process is often a painful process for both the migrant and his new social environment. It is the problem of social integration that often gives rise to the problem of a conflict between the migrant’s legal consciousness and the external legal requirements of a politically organized society. Using the socio-axiological approach, the author considers the conventional mechanism for synthesizing legal values, which are understood as a kind of super cultural meta-values, and comes to the conclusion that many of them are being formed today at the supranational — international level. The author comes to the conclusion that it is in the space of international legal discourse in the framework of international law as a special ideological form of law that basic, minimal, and therefore universal legal values can be formed. These values, as international law develops as an ideological form of law and its influence on national and international integration legal systems grows, people around the world can rely on in developing strategies of behavior, regardless of their habitat. In this, the author sees the solution to a number of important problems related to intercultural interaction, which is caused by the activation of migration processes in the modern world.

“Retribution for betrayal”: Attempts of social integration of former employees of the local police of the Gebitskommissariat “Bila Tserkva” at the Reichskommissariat Ukraine into post-war Soviet society

The purpose of the article is to identify the forms and means of social integration of former police officers of the Bila Tserkva Commissariat in the post-war Soviet society. Methods of research: analytical-synthetic, historical-chronological, comparative-historical, logical. Scientific novelty. Forms and methods of social integration of the former police commissioner of Bila Tserkva in the Soviet society for the first time are analyzed in detail. Practical importance. The study identifies typical models of social integration of people who, in the context of occupation from different circumstances, embarked on a betrayal path, but failed and tried to return to a peaceful life. The originality of the study is based on the identification and analytical and synthetic processing of previously unknown archival sources of the Soviet special services. Main results. The problem of social integration of former local police officers into post-war Soviet society is considered as an example of a separate administrative district of the Ukraine Reichskommissariat. At the system level, the forms and methods of social integration of people who, during the war, followed the instructions of the German authorities and carried out the main directions of the Nazi occupation policy are clarified. The typical behavior models of former police officers in the post-war period are highlighted. Examples of criminal proceedings against people who served in local law enforcement agencies of the Bila Tserkva gebitskommissariat are given. The facts of mistakes of the investigative Soviet special services of the NKDB and the KGB system are established. On the example of specific life destinies, the conclusion is drawn about the selectivity of the repressive measures against former police officers by Soviet law enforcement agencies. Social Integration and Right-Wing Populist Voting in Germany

Abstract Electoral support for right-wing populist parties is typically explained either by economic deprivation or cultural grievances. Attempting to bring economic and cultural explanations together, recent approaches have suggested to conceptualize right-wing populist support as a problem of social integration. Applying this perspective to the German case, this article investigates whether weak subjective social integration-or subjective social marginalization, respectively-is associated with the intention to vote for the AfD. Furthermore, it asks whether the strength of this association varies across income groups. Based on original survey data from 2017, the results show that indicators of weak subjective social integration-feeling socially excluded, being anxious about one’s status, and distrusting others-increase the likelihood of voting for the AfD. Moreover, weak subjective social integration increases right-wing party support particularly among the middle-class. Thus, next to fears of downward mobility, feelings of subjective social marginalization emerge as a pathway to right-wing populism for the middle-class.
