Kajian Reflektif Pelaksanaan Program Kampung Deret di Jakarta

Slums are one of the phenomena of urban poverty problems caused by the lack of resources for the urban poor to access livable housing. The purpose of this research is to describe government policies in tackling slums in Jakarta through the Kampung Deret Program and analyze the application of social capital in the implementation of the Kampung Deret Program in Jakarta. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with the type of literature review. This method collects relevant data from various reference sources including previous research, books, media coverage, laws, and regulations. The results showed that the Kampung Deret program is one of the policies of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in tackling slum problems. In addition, there are differences in the description of community participation in the implementation of the Kampung Deret program caused by unequal responses from the community. The conclusion is that community participation is determined by the existence of reciprocal social relations between residents, as well as between residents and the government, in which there are elements of trust, values, and social norms. This study recommends that future researchers conduct studies on community involvement in the formulation of slum program policies in Jakarta.Keywords : slums, kampung deret program, social capital

The Relationship Between Government Welfare Policies and Employment Rates: An In-Depth Analysis

This study examined the effects of social programs implemented by governments in China, the US, and Norway on employment rates. Welfare policies are essential for mitigating the problems of unemployment, poverty, and social inequality that the government faces and for fostering social stability. Using case studies and empirical data, this study uses a comparative analytical approach to investigate how various welfare regimes impact job results. According to the study’s findings, employment has decreased in China even while social spending has increased steadily. This might be because of a lag between the country’s economic transformation and the execution of its policies. Although welfare spending has expanded dramatically in the United States, employment growth has been modest, implying that welfare dependency may worsen rather than provide work prospects. Conversely, Norway’s welfare system is distinguished by substantial worker support and high social spending, both of which are positively connected with growth and stability in employment. The study concludes that, although welfare policies are essential to social security, their formulation and execution need to be carefully considered in order to encourage employment and prevent unforeseen outcomes like dependency or decreased labor force participation. The significance of welfare system optimization in promoting social justice and economic stability while attending to the needs of disadvantaged populations is emphasized by this study

Impact of the macroeconomic factors on the level of energy poverty-case of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia

Energy poverty is a socio-economic topic that is not only related to the sustainability problem of natural resource extraction but also human activities. It reflects a situation in which households are unable to fully meet their energy needs. It mainly affects countries with a lower level of development, as well as those whose energy mix is largely based on non-renewable sources (such as coal). These undoubtedly include the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. Investigations are still being conducted to explain the causes of the problem of energy poverty. The paper’s main aim is to assess the impact of selected macroeconomic factors on the level of energy poverty. A backward stepwise regression procedure was used to achieve this aim. Models have been developed for each of the three countries: the Czech Republic, Poland, and Slovakia separately and for all of them together. These models are intended to identify the most prominent macroeconomic factors across all three countries. Results from all four models have highlighted two prominent variables which may impact the level of energy poverty in selected countries. They are following: electricity prices for household consumers with all taxes and net electricity imports. In three of the four developed models, they explained the level of energy poverty in a statistically significant manner. In conclusion, it can be suggested that the governments of these countries take action on these variables, which can help manage energy poverty. Their identification and subsequent impact may help to reduce this problem in the analysed post-coal economies.

The Effectiveness of Community Poverty Reduction Programmes In the Province of Papua. Indonesia

Qualitative research through a phenomenological approach, while the results showed that the problem of poverty is a problem that must be handled holistically, involving various components that must support each other, both from the aspects of economic policy, education policy, legal policies and others, besides that the mindset of the community also needs to be addressed, this condition can occur if forman and informal education patterns can be applied holistically.

ANALISIS PENGARUH IPM, UPAH MINIMUM, TPT DAN BANTUAN SOSIAL TERHADAP TINGKAT KEMISKINAN DI PROVINSI JAWA TIMUR TAHUN 2017-2022

Poverty is a social problem that arises in economic development and can cause other problems. Therefore, there is a need for solutions to overcome the problem of poverty. This study aims to determine the role of Human Development Index (HDI), Open Unemployment Rate, minimum wage and social assistance spending on poverty rate in East Java. The sample of this study is 34 regencies and cities in East Java Province during 2017-2022. In this study, only 34 districts and cities were used because there were two cities that did not have the realization of social assistance spending. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from BPS and DJPK of the Ministry of Finance. The method used is panel data regression with FEM (Fixed Effect Model). The results of this study show that each HDI has a significant negative effect and TPT has a significant positive effect on the poverty rate in East Java Province in 2017-2022. Meanwhile, the Minimum Wage and Social Assistance respectively have no significant effect on the poverty rate in East Java Province in 2017-2022.

Water and energy deprivation: Addressing the problem of essential utility services poverty in Mayotte

Among the 17 sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015 are ensuring “availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation” and “access to modern energy sources”. One problem for Mahorais households is access to safe, clean and affordable essential utility services, such as electricity, water and sewerage. Moreover, Mayotte, a French oversea department, is experiencing an unprecedented drought. The island, which is sinking into a severe water crisis, has been depriving its inhabitants of running water two days out of three since the beginning of September 2023. We define a new concept of utility services poverty (basic utility services deprivation) based on the theoretical capabilities framework of Sen and Nussbaum. Using a latent class model, we identify households that are poor in utility services and characterize four household profiles. One main advantage of this methodology is replicability in many Low and Middle Income Countries’ (LMICs). We demonstrate that access to water is more discriminatory than access to electricity in Mayotte. The top priority in fighting utility services poverty should be access to water and sanitary facilities. Public policies should be implemented not according to income but to facilitate water and energy access and improve basic hygiene conditions notably through social housing.

Effect of Rural Banditry on Food Security and Poverty Reduction in Nigeria

This research investigates how rural banditry hinders sustainable food security and poverty reductions in Nigeria. The Food and Agricultural Organisation, the International Monetary Fund, the National Bureau of Statistics, the United Nations Development Programme, scholarly journals, and field surveys were the sources from which the data were gathered. Three hundred questionnaires were administered to farmers in six states via Plateau, Nassarawa, Kaduna, Benue, Oyo and Niger, in addition to a focused group discussion with selected farmers in each of the study areas. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings show that unemployment, poverty, poor governance, inadequate infrastructure, insufficient security measures and lack of effective institutional coordination, create a network of individuals who support or engage in banditry; farmers experienced disruptions in farming activities, psychological distresses and loss of livestock. Among the socio-economic impacts of banditry include: loss of income and economic opportunities, displacement and migration of the rural population, reduced productivity and infrastructural degradation. These led to food shortages, hikes in food prices, malnutrition and increased poverty level in Nigeria. This study emphasizes the urgent need by the federal and state governments to tackle the problems of unemployment and poverty; develop infrastructure; increase security expenditure; and implement targeted rural development policies. These solutions will curb rural banditry, ensure food security and reduce poverty in Nigeria. Sustainable Development Program: Synergism Integrated Farming System Implementation in Tambrauw, West Papua with A Holistic Approach

Indonesia, as an agricultural country with abundant natural resources, still faces the problem of poverty in various regions, especially in West Papua. The high poverty rate in this area is related to the low access to education, food security, and proper economic resources. In an effort to address these issues, the Integrated Farming System (IFS) is considered a potential solution to improve community welfare and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets. This study aims to identify the benefits, challenges and opportunities of IFS implementation in Tambrauw Regency, West Papua, with a focus on its contribution to the achievement of the five SDGs targets, including poverty and hunger alleviation, and improvement of quality of life and environment. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative study through literature review and secondary data analysis. Data were taken from various sources such as scientific journals, books, and official documents relevant to the research topic. The results show that the implementation of IFS in Tambrauw has the potential to increase agricultural and livestock productivity, create new jobs, and promote sustainable food production. In addition, the use of organic fertilizers and a holistic approach can have a positive impact on the environment and local communities. IFS is an effective program in supporting the achievement of SDGs through empowerment of local communities and sustainable use of existing resources. However, further support in the form of technological innovation and sustainable government policies are needed to ensure the long-term success of this program.

Peningkatan Potensi Sektor Ekonomi Melalui Pemberdayaan Lembaga Masyarakat di Desa Betet Melalui KKN-T`K Universitas Bojonegoro

The Bojonegoro University KKN-TK program implemented in Betet Village, Kepohbaru District, Bojonegoro Regency aims to help the village community in overcoming poverty problems in order to achieve prosperity. The preparation of the work program is adjusted to the potential of the village which is focused on empowering community institutions. Based on the results of the village potential analysis, the main work programs were formulated, including (1) Socialization and assistance in financial management and administration of GAPOKTAN; (2) Empowerment of village youth through training in making briquettes from tobacco stem waste; (3) Socialization and training in making liquid organic fertilizer (POC); (4) Empowerment of village women through training in making fried onions. The results of this work program were that GAPOKTAN began to implement good administration and financial management, village youth understood the utilization of tobacco waste, farmers began to apply the use of POC and village women had knowledge about entrepreneurship. By utilizing the potential of the village, this work program can have a sustainable impact.

Locked-in to Dirty Fuel for Cooking: A Micro-Ethnographic Study in a Rural Area in Nusa Tenggara Timur, Indonesia

Ensuring sufficient access to clean and safe energy is a pre-requisite for enhancing the quality of human life. However, in some regions, such as Pitai village in Nusa Tenggara Timur, East Indonesia, people face challenges in accessing safe and clean energy, leading to the problem of energy poverty. Despite the government’s introduction of LPG in 2007, many households in Pitai continue to rely on firewood for cooking fuel. This article aims to investigate why most rural households in Pitai, Kupang and Nusa Tenggara Timur are still trapped in using dirty fuels like firewood, and how they perceived and accepted LPG after the national transition programme. To achieve this, a micro-ethnography study was conducted in Pitai village. The study’s results reveal that most of the community still prefers using firewood, which is more comfortable than LPG. Additionally, an inadequate supply of LPG, coupled with the abandonment of the firewood supply, has led to a lack of interest in adopting LPG. Consequently, the price of LPG remains higher than that of firewood, further discouraging its adoption. Addressing the issue of energy poverty in Pitai requires a comprehensive approach by the government involving providing adequate LPG supply and initiatives to raise awareness and change perceptions about LPG usage. By overcoming these challenges, the community can transition towards cleaner and safer energy sources, improving their overall quality of life. On the other hand, the government must address the accessibility and affordability of the LPG supply chain to inland areas, taking into account the challenges posed by the archipelagic nature of the country.

Women and Poverty: Case Study of Female Labor (TKW) in Indramayu Regency

Women are often paired with poverty problems, structural and cultural obstacles seem to never stop entangling them. The choice to become a migrant worker has become a dream of a decent and prosperous life that for him cannot be relied on by anyone, including the government. With a more dominant economic background and low human resources, women are often powerless to get out of the problems that come to them. Even though it is widely depicted in the media about the grim portrait of migrant workers in various cases, the number of migrant workers continues to increase from year to year. Some of the underlying points are that the employment opportunities available at home are limited and labour wages abroad are much higher than those at home. As the second largest contributor of foreign exchange after oil and gas, TKW should receive more attention, including its rights to obtain protection as a citizen

Medical Costs of Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Pulmonary Disease, South Korea, 2015-2019.

Nontuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) prevalence is a rising public health concern. We assessed the long-term healthcare systems perspective of costs incurred by 147 NTM-PD patients at a tertiary hospital in South Korea. Median cumulative total medical cost in managing NTM-PD patients was US $5,044 (interquartile range US $3,586-$9,680) over 49.7 months (interquartile range 33.0-68.2 months) of follow-up. The major cost drivers were diagnostic testing and medication, accounting for 59.6% of total costs. Higher costs were associated with hospitalization for Mycobacterium abscessus infection and pulmonary comorbidities. Of the total medical care costs, 50.2% were patient co-payments resulting from limited national health insurance coverage. As South Korea faces significant problems of poverty during old age and increasing NTM-PD prevalence, the financial and socio-economic burden of NTM-PD may become a major public health concern that should be considered with regard to adequate strategies for NTM-PD patients.

Relación entre desarrollo sostenible, economía y pobreza

Throughout this document, the opportunity is provided to show the relationship between sustainable development and economic growth, focusing on their definitions, their disparity and their consequences, at the same time that it gives us a vision on the evolution of the importance of economic development and of their inability to solve the problem of poverty. The satisfaction of the needs of the human being, would go through seeking a balance between economic growth, care for the environment and social welfare, a breakdown of this balance has put into question the traditional model of economic development, in which they raise fundamental questions where the very accumulation of wealth creates poverty. The bibliographic search carried out has led us to obtain a series of conclusions on the proposed terms,in which a robust social solidarity economy would lead us to the eradication of poverty. This work takes us to a reflection on the sustainability of natural resources, the viability of the economic development model and its rate of growth in a context of globalization in which localities are left behind, but without being forgotten, although they have no involvement in models that meet their development needs.

ANALYSIS OF POVERTY AS A MAIN PROBLEM OF THE INDONESIAN ECONOMY AND ITS OVERCOME

Poverty is a phenomenon that occurs in almost every developing country. Poverty stems from the inability of some people to organize their lives at a level that is considered humane. The problem of poverty is an unresolved problem in almost every country, including Indonesia. The research method used in this study was a literature study by examining various literature related to the topics discussed. The purpose of this research is to analyze poverty in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that poverty in Indonesia can be caused by declining standards of global per capita income development, declining work ethic and people's productivity, low levels of education, and limited capital, these conditions reduce the quality of human resources, which leads to decreased productivity. and income. The reason is that the problem of poverty remains a major problem that needs attention and concrete action through the implementation of programs that are both recovery, empowering and facilitative. Therefore, the author wants to analyze poverty in Indonesia along with overcoming economic problems in Indonesia.

POVERTY AS A CONCERN FOR HUMAN SECURITY: VIETNAM’S POLICIES ON MULTI-DIMENSIONAL POVERTY

Although different countries may set various strategies for economic development, the problem of poverty continues to be a serious concern in both the developed and developing economies. In fact, many policy makers, administrators, academics, politicians, also see poverty as a fundamental threat to humanity. Some even consider it to be the root of practically all global issues. This is established due to the intimate relationship between poverty and human security- a paradigm that attaches security to human focus, rather than to the traditional understanding of security. This relationship is illustrated more thoroughly as attention is paid to multidimensional poverty. This approach to poverty is used more widely nowadays by governments due to its encompassing effects, and the Vietnamese government is not an exception. This study, via qualitative and secondary method, investigates different perspectives of poverty to reveal an intellectual history of how poverty has been defined and how poverty reduction orientation may have been influenced. A case study of Vietnam also examines how its government views multidimensional poverty and develops their poverty reduction policies accordingly. A constructivist approach is also sought to explain the link between poverty and human security.

Behind the Protein Battle Lines in the 1970s: Nutritional Turmoil in the Postwar World.

This study examines the development of international debates about the perception of nutrients, particularly protein, with a focus on the "Protein Debate" of the late 20th century. The nutritional obsession with protein has been ongoing since the early 19th century, when scientific nutrition was established, and has been at the center of debates surrounding food, agriculture, healthcare, and the environment, changing in shape and form over time. In addition to being a nutrient necessary for optimal physical and mental performance, protein has been a marker of poverty and discrimination at the international level and explains differences in individual living standards. Kwashiorkor, also known as protein calorie disorder, medicalized the problem of poverty in the Third World or underdeveloped countries. By the 1970s, the nutritional discussion of protein had undergone a radical transformation, with implications for the entire development discourse, including poverty and human rights. This study of the historical discourse on protein deficiency goes beyond the scientific focus on nutritional status, food, and dietary health to identify the social, economic, and cultural implications of nutrition.

Gospel, Liberation and Pluralism in Latin America

Seeing the world through the eyes of the marginalised has been a consistent theme in modern Latin American theology. When Latin American Liberation Theology first emerged, evangelical theologian René Padilla expressed a shared concern over the problem of poverty, but also warned that certain elements therein clashed with evangelical hermeneutics. Consequently, he called for a circular approach that would maintain a tension between the crisis of the moment and the authority of biblical revelation. In the twenty-first century, liberation discourse has expanded into postcolonial critique on indigenous culture and identity, including a stream known as Liberation Pluralism. Evangelicals share many of the same concerns. But as they engage with the discourse, there is an ongoing need to heed Padilla's warning. This article argues that evangelicals today can engage in postcolonial and liberation discourses, but that this should be carried out with that same circular hermeneutic which Padilla first proposed.

The contribution of macroeconomic indicators to the attainment of economic development objectives in some western ASIAN countries

This study looks at how macroeconomic variables affect poverty, unemployment, and economic growth in seven Western Asian nations. We used 18 years of data (2003-2020) using a generalized moment analysis method, although experience has varied significantly in different countries as well as between different regions. The development and effective implementation of policies to accelerate employment growth are essential to success on a continent that still has an exceptionally high rate of poverty. These policies will allow us to address the persistent problems of unemployment and poverty. In developing an appropriate policy, countries need to take into account the universal acceleration of trends towards closer integration of the world economy and the rapid pace of liberalization as national economies move increasingly towards a market economy. According to our findings, poverty, unemployment, and economic growth are all significantly impacted by sustainable development indices. During the study period, investment and the activity rate were two of the primary factors influencing economic growth. Western Asian countries should improve the quality of their institutions and their capacity to adapt and acquire new skills. Trade and globalization should not be considered in isolation. Additional policies are needed to reinforce its impact on economic growth.

Intralingual Understanding of Zakat, Infaq, alms, and Gifts in Islamic Economics In Aceh

The implementation of Islamic economics in Aceh has a positive impact on society. Aceh Province is a region in Indonesia that has an influence on poverty issues because it has been hit by social conflict that has been going on for a very long time so that access to work is not conducive for the people of Aceh. ). Aceh Province with the implementation of Islamic law has a role to play in resolving and minimizing poverty problems. The method used by Aceh Province is to foster the management of zakat, infaq and alms because they are sources of eternal funds. Supporting the importance of previous research on zakat, infaq and alms, this study wants to determine the ability to understand interlingual terminology about zakat, alms and infaq plus one other terminology, namely gifts. This research was a descriptive-qualitative research. The data used are 4 terminologies in Islamic economics, namely alms, zakat, infaq and gifts to be translated interlingually. The four terms to be translated were analyzed using the intralingual equivalence method. The sample is 50 students from the Faculty of Economics who have studied science related to Islamic economics courses. The findings obtained that related to the terminology of zakat, all participants as many as 50 students or 100% of participants managed to answer intralingually. Then, there were the same results between the terminology of infak, sedekah, and hadiah, namely 47 students managed to answer correctly but insignificantly there were only 3 students who answered incorrectly.

Kritik Sosial dalam Lirik Lagu Album Akibat Pergaulan Blues Karya Musisi Jason Ranti

Jason Ranti, in the lyrics of his album entitled The Effects of Blues Association, conveys a lot of criticism and satire on social problems which are considered problems by society depending on the social value system of that society, however there are the same problems faced by society in general, for example the problem of poverty and crime. , family disorganization, the younger generation in modern society, war, violations of societal norms, population, the environment, and bureaucracy. This type of research is qualitative. According to Semi (1993:23), qualitative research is carried out without prioritizing numbers, but prioritizing the depth of appreciation of the interactions between concepts that are being studied empirically. This research using qualitative methods cannot be measured, because its nature emphasizes socially constructed reality. Data from the results of this research found social criticism in the song lyrics in Jason Ranti's album Akun Pergaulan Blues as many as 24 data in the form of several fragments of song lyrics which include 3 types of social criticism, namely (1) social criticism about violations of societal norms (2) social criticism about religious behavior and beliefs (3) social criticism about politics and bureaucracy. It can be concluded that the social criticism contained in the lyrics of the song Album "Results of Promiscuity" by Jason Ranti is social criticism of violations of societal norms, social criticism of religious behavior and beliefs, and social criticism of politics and bureaucracy.
