DEVELOPMENT OF PRIVATE ENTERPRISES OF VIETNAM IN CURRENT CONTEXT

<p>With the efforts of businesses themselves and the government's supportive policies, in recent times, the private business force in our country has clearly demonstrated its dynamism, creativity and role as an essential catalyst for economic growth, creating jobs, improving people's life quality, etc. However, reality shows that this type of economy still has many limitations, difficulties and challenges. Internal Structures, Foreign Economic Policies and Global Economic Order: Implications from the Rise of Large Emerging Economies

The development of critical arising economies like Brazil, India, and China addresses a huge present-day shift in the worldwide political and monetary field. This article investigates whether these nations have a typical institutional structure for running their economies and investigates the potential impacts of these similitudes on global monetary establishments. The procedure is separated into three fundamental stages: initially, a complete ideal model called the "state-penetrated market economy" is made to address private enterprise in these significant arising economies; second, an exact examination of these nations is done, contrasting them with different types of private enterprise and in light of the highlights framed in the best model; and third, long haul suggestions are anticipated for the worldwide financial request, expecting that unfamiliar monetary strategies will reflect homegrown institutional designs. Given these stages, it is reasoned that there is minimal possibility of a critical fortifying of the liberal global request.

The inverted-U model of employee happiness: examining overdose happiness in context of personal characteristics, job-relationship dependency, benign stress, and various theories.

In recent years, the management literature has begun to deal with individual and organizational results after happiness rather than the pursuit of happiness in business life and finally reaching happiness. After the fact that everything in an overdose is harmful, it has become the subject of even more research with paradoxical results that happiness that evokes positive emotions is not as innocent as it seems. In this study, which aims to reveal the harmful effects of overdose of employee happiness, the reasons for the manager's fear - or anxiety - about the happiness of his employees are interpreted. The Inverted-U Model of Employee Happiness (IUMEH) has been developed and individual work outputs have been evaluated in three areas that (1) support happiness, (2) reflect balanced happiness, and (3) turn negative with an overdose of happiness intoxication. It has been suggested that IUMEH, which is thought to contribute to the literature as it is the first descriptive model to emerge, should be supported by applied studies, and it has been reminded that the curvilinear aspect of the model may include differences in terms of culture, type and characteristics of job, private, public or non-profit enterprises, generations of managers and the level of managers (front-line, middle level and senior level etc.).

The influence of service strategies and business relations on the growth of starup businesses in medium digital marketing

The lack of business land to foster the growth of new firms is the issue facing South Sulawesi's startup community. Getting funding is one of the biggest problems that companies have. Even with the abundance of public and private financing initiatives, getting funding is frequently a challenging and drawn-out procedure. There are still a number of places in South Sulawesi with restricted access to digital technology and the internet, despite the country's ongoing technical growth. This could be a barrier for new business, particularly those are in the technology industry. An industrial ecology is therefore required. The purpose of this study is to examine how digital marketing, business partnerships, and service initiatives affect the expansion of startup companies. additionally, to examine the ways in which digital marketing-related service tactics adopted by startups can impact the expansion of their enterprises. This may entail evaluating the ways in which service personalization, speed, and quality may affect client happiness and, eventually, company expansion. A sample of 225 startups was used in this study, and questionnaires and focus group discussions were used to collect data. To evaluate the data, the Smart-PLS application was used. The study's findings demonstrate the importance of service plans and commercial partnerships for both digital marketing in startup companies and digital marketing itself. Digital marketing, meanwhile, is powerless to mitigate the impact of commercial partnerships and service plans on fledgling companies.

Scrap Steel Recycling: A Carbon Emission Reduction Index for China

Accurately assessing carbon emissions from recycling scrap steel is essential for reducing emissions in the steel industry, especially in China, the world’s largest crude steel producer. In this study, a carbon emission reduction index was introduced to evaluate the effectiveness of recycling scrap steel in reducing emissions. The index considers the three processes used in scrap steel recycling: blast furnace ironmaking, converter steelmaking, and electric arc furnace steelmaking. This study developed an evaluation model using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and iterative cluster analysis to determine the reduction of carbon emission. From a life cycle perspective, this study identified primary factors contributing to emissions, including fuel, raw materials, electric energy, and auxiliary materials. Then, the carbon emission reduction index for scrap recycling was developed by examining the production of one ton of steel and each additional ton of scrap steel, which can provide valuable insights into the environmental impact of scrap recycling. Finally, the study forecasts the future Carbon Emission Reduction Index for steel scrap recycling. The study indicates an increase in the carbon emission reduction index for scrap recycling prior to 2017, followed by a decrease about 11.8% from 2017 to 2018 and increases from 2018 to 2021. Finally, it dropped by 8.7% per cent in 2022. Similarly, the carbon emission reduction index for electric furnace steelmaking increased prior to 2019, then subsequently decreased. It is changing by ten per cent a year. Additionally, the scrap recycling index experienced a significant decrease of 90% in 2015, followed by a gradual increase until 2017 and then a consistent decrease every year thereafter. The index suddenly rose in 2021 and then decreased change for policy reasons. The forecast results suggest a gradual increase in the carbon emission reduction index per ton of steel scrap in the future. In conclusion, the practicable modeling methodology has the ability to assist government organizations and private enterprises in devising efficient green and low-carbon development tactics.

Confucian culture and analysts' earnings forecast accuracy

This article's findings reveal that Confucian culture enhances the precision of analysts' earnings forecasts. Tests for heterogeneity demonstrate that in private enterprises and more marketized samples, Confucian culture's governance impact is more significant. This study offers empirical support for the notion that Confucian culture serves as a vital external oversight mechanism for businesses.

Symbiosis between Private Sector and Politics amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

In this study, symbiosis is denoted as the cooperation that manifested between parties in an event or setting. Thus, through collective private and government actions that transcends borders, the next phase of combating Covid-19 requires a change of mind on the supposed role of the local government and the private sector. Hence, the study assessed the symbiosis between the local barangay unit and the private sectors that occurred in the respondent-towns in the City of Meycauayan, Bulacan during ECQ. Given the combined efforts from the local barangay units and the different individuals and private enterprises to help the residents, it was determined that there was indeed a positive effect on the community. Residents were aware of the contributions of the private individuals and enterprises which help them to go through the hardships of unemployment, being able to eat and survive the ordeal of the ECQ and Covid-19. In essence, the residents of the respondent-towns benefited form the symbiosis between the private and public sector amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

The impact of population aging on SME digital transformation: Evidence from China.

Many societies around the world are rapidly aging and this has implications for social and economic development. We collect data on NEEQ-listed enterprises from 2010 to 2021 in China and empirically test the effect of population aging on the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The findings show that population aging has a significant positive impact on SME digital transformation, and private enterprises and enterprises in eastern regions of China tend to benefit more than other regions. The mechanism studies find that population aging positively impacts SME digital transformation by increasing labor costs, facilitating human capital accumulation, and raising savings rates. Furthermore, the threshold effect analyses find that the marginal promotion effect of population aging will weaken with greater aging and will strengthen with a higher level of marketization. Finally, we provide policy recommendations for promoting digital transformation in SMEs against the background of population aging.

CORPORATE FINANCIALIZATION AND GREEN TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION: EVIDENCE FROM CHINESE-LISTED MANUFACTURING COMPANIES

We examine the relationship between corporate financialization and green technological innovation using data on manufacturing companies during 2007–2020. We find that corporate financialization reduces the level of green technology innovation. Heterogeneity analysis demonstrates that financialization’s impact on green technological innovation varies across different enterprise types, especially for private enterprises, high-tech enterprises, and enterprises in eastern and western regions. Moreover, financial constraints will strengthen the influence of financialization on green technological innovation while managerial myopia will weaken the influence of financialization. The empirical insights advance our understanding of the relationship and mechanisms between financial asset investment behavior and green technological innovation in manufacturing enterprises.

Can Digital Economy Development Facilitate Corporate ESG Performance?

As ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) is consistent with the spirit of sustainable development, it is useful to elevate ESG performance to realize the sustainable development of enterprise and society. Using the data of Chinese A-share listed firms in the period of 2011 to 2019, this paper takes the National Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone policy as a quasi-natural experiment and uses the difference-in-differences method to assess the effect of digital economy development on ESG performance. This paper reveals the following: (1) the digital economy can facilitate ESG performance; (2) digitalization of the economy helps enterprises to propel digital transformation, which in turn lifts ESG performance; (3) digital economy development has a deeper impact on private enterprises, especially for those in China’s capital cities; and (4) digital economy development moderates the inhibiting effect of ESG performance on corporate financial constraints. The findings of this paper indicate that digitalization of the economy can help to achieve sustainable development.

Soft skills unveiled: a comprehensive exploration of employer preferences and employability essentials

Soft skills have become a critical factor in enhancing individual employability. A deeper understanding of the specific soft skills valued by employers in various types of enterprises enables higher education institutions to more precisely cultivate these qualities in students. This study focuses on 15 essential soft skill indicators categorized into three key facets: personal, social, and methodological skills. Through the analysis of 366,077 job advertisements, we establish keyword libraries for different indicators, facilitating the identification of the types of soft skills emphasized in each advertisement. Our findings reveal that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) prioritize a range of soft skills, except for creativity/innovation skills, analytical skills, and continuous improvement skills. On the other hand, state-owned enterprises (SOEs) exhibit a demand for as many as 14 out of 15 soft skill indicators, surpassing private enterprises, except for creativity/innovation skills. However, this emphasis on different soft skills does not necessarily result in salary differentials. Soft skill requirements linked to personal traits, such as professional ethics, commitment to work, stress resistance, and self-learning abilities, do not correlate with higher salaries. Conversely, soft skills related to socialization, like teamwork, leadership, and social networking, are associated with higher salaries. The results of this study reveal employers’ demand for various soft skills. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that this demand is not adequately reflected in salary levels. Employers should carefully consider and strive for a more equitable representation of soft skills in the determination of salaries.

Piercing the corporate veil system and creditors protection: Based on the investigation of debt paying ability--Empirical evidence from the 2005 Company Law amendment.

This paper uses the difference-in-differences model to research how the "piercing the corporate veil" system marked by the 2005 Company Law amendment affects the level of corporate creditor protection. The research results show that private enterprises and local state-owned enterprises are sensitive and significant to this legal amendment. In contrast, local state-owned enterprises are more sensitive and have a stronger motivation to protect the interests of creditors. The motivation of companies with weaker profitability for creditor protection lasts not only for the year of law revision but also extends to the year of implementation. With the law's implementation, the growth effect of creditor protection for local state-owned enterprises has become more significant. Further analysis shows that the main findings of this article are more significant in companies with larger debt scales, companies with a higher year-on-year growth rate of operating income, companies with controlling shareholders, and companies with higher stock market capitalization. From an empirical research view, this paper explains the economic effect and mechanism of the whole corporate personality under the complete system and adds economic evidence for how the law acts on the capital market.

Land price regulation and firms' global value chain position: Evidence from China

Exorbitant land prices have been a significant constraint on firm growth; however, few studies have explored their effect on firms' global value chain (GVC) positions. By treating the 2007 minimum price policy for industrial land as a quasi-natural experiment, this study estimates the impact of land price regulations on firms' GVC positions. Using a difference-in-differences method with continuous treatment intensity, we find that industrial land price regulation has a remarkably negative effect on firms' GVC positions. This effect is primarily observed in small- and medium-sized enterprises and private enterprises. The mechanism analysis suggests that industrial land price regulation has significantly increased the cost of land purchases by firms, squeezing their investment in innovation and reducing the quality of intermediate inputs, thereby degrading their position in GVCs.

‘Accounting for the Music’. Institutional logics in the Regio Teatro Carolino of Palermo at the beginning of the nineteenth century

ABSTRACT We analyse the foundation and organisation of the Regio Teatro Carolino (RTC) in Palermo in the mid-eighteenth century, and its development at the beginning of the nineteenth century. In particular, we examine the accounting system to determine how it was influenced by competing and often conflicting institutional logics. The RTC originated from a private initiative of the Palermo nobility, but soon had to resort to public funding to maintain its artistic performances. Following this process, the Bourbon monarchy implemented control over the RTC and more generally, over all theatrical activities. The research emphasises the different institutional logics that shaped the RTC's management system, highlighting the hybrid characteristics of this institution.

Effect of senior executives' overseas experience on corporate green innovation.

Against the background of increasingly severe environmental problems, green development has gained widespread attention, and green innovation has thus become crucial for enterprises. This study used 2007-2019 data from listed A-share companies in China to evaluate the effect of senior executives' overseas experience on corporate green innovation. The results showed that senior executives' overseas experience could promote green innovation in companies. This positive effect was more significant for private enterprises and high-tech enterprises, especially in eastern China. The CEO pay regulation have a significant negative moderating effect on this positive effect. This study enriches upper echelons theory and provides theoretical support for government agencies to accelerate innovative green development strategies. The results can also provide a decision-making basis for governments to formulate policies to promote enterprises' green development.

Evaluation of water use impacts caused by real estate development with gentrification traits in the metropolitan area of San Luis Potosí

Water resource management is a technical, social, and political issue worldwide. Water, being a public good, is characterized as follows: “Unlike private goods, public goods are indivisible and cannot be satisfactorily met by the market or other private initiatives. The provision of public goods requires cooperation or coercion, either through collective action or effective government.” In this sense, water is a human right, as stated by the UN in its sixth sustainable development goal, which aims to “ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.” Gradually, housing in the city of San Luis Potosí has shifted from being affordable for the entire population to becoming increasingly unattainable. Due to the growing demand for housing driven by common population growth and urban development, in recent years, vertical construction-both residential and commercial-has been implemented as a potential solution to this phenomenon, now accounting for 10% of constructions in this area in the capital city, according to the Registro Único de la Vivienda as of 2023. However, such constructions have brought new challenges to urbanization in San Luis Potosí city. As noted by Lozano Niño Y., areas, where high-socioeconomic-status apartment buildings with gentrification features proliferate, were not planned to support high population densities. Eventually, one of the possible consequences of high densification in these areas will be the inadequacy of basic services such as water. While vertical housing offers an alternative to maximize land use within the urban sprawl and could address housing demands, there is also a need to improve public services and urban infrastructure in the surrounding areas where these constructions are planned to prevent social inequality in terms of public service distribution. This study aims to analyze the relationship between case studies—buildings with gentrification features-and their impact on the use and distribution of potable water among the inhabitants of the urban sprawl of San Luis Potosí, by using geospatial methods and technologies.

SITUACIÓN ACTUAL, DESAFÍOS Y PERSPECTIVAS DE LA FUSIÓN NUCLEAR CONTROLADA: LA TECNOLOGÍA

This article objectively discusses the potential of development of nuclear fusion as a profitable energy source for the society of the future. After a brief exposition treating the physical foundations on which nuclear fusion is based – that are known for a century -, attention is drawn to the formidable difficulties that have been encountered when trying its practical implementation in a controlled device, and to the different proposals for reactors which have been conceived with the aim of overcoming them and demonstrate its scientific-technical feasibility. Information is provided regarding the most relevant (public and private) projects that are currently being developed in this field, which exhibits a situation characterized by the strong irruption of private initiative in recent years, and by diversification in terms of concepts and reactor designs, without it being clear at the moment which solution will prevail in the commercial stage, or whether the path to that goal will be completed by several models that will coexist. It is estimated that, in the most optimistic case and thanks to the impetus given by private initiative, the first commercial fusion energy plants could be available in the 2040s, making it plausible that public-private collaboration mechanisms will proliferate. The enormous advantages that this resource would bring to society are pointed, taking account of its virtues as a clean, safe, almost unlimited and cheap energy. This article will be continued by another devoted to exploring the economic viability of fusion technology, assuming the high level of uncertainty associated with both the vagueness of the details in the design and operation of the plants, as well as the lack of knowledge in the energy environment, economic and social in the coming years. Analysis of the Current Situation of the Development of Digital Inclusive Finance and the R&amp;D Expenditure of Private Enterprises

With the rapid development of science and technology, digital finance, as an emerging financial service model, is rapidly emerging around the world. With the support of the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies, it has not only changed the traditional way of financial services, but also brought far-reaching impact on economic and social development. However, the coverage of digital finance is also becoming increasingly prominent, especially in some developing countries and regions, and the popularization and application of digital finance still face many challenges. There is a mutually reinforcing relationship between the development of digital inclusive finance and R&amp;D expenditures of private enterprises. By strengthening guidance and support, promoting the deep integration of financial technology and the real economy, and establishing sound risk prevention and control mechanisms, the interaction and common development between the two can be further promoted. It is crucial to promote the sustainability of digital finance and improve the inclusiveness of financial services by collecting and analyzing relevant data, conducting field visits and interviews, conducting in-depth analysis of the current development status of inclusive digital finance, research and development expenditures of private companies, and analyzing current challenges and appropriate remedial measures.
