Implementation of a Contact Center with Interactive Voice Response Using Cisco Unified Communications

A popular voice-based communication service used to receive calls automatically is Interactive Voice Response (IVR). Generally, IVR is widely used by institutions to provide services to the public in consulting, offering, or providing information about a particular matter. One of the uses of IVR, among others, is the Contact Center. By using Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology and using the SIP Trunk service from the service provider, institutions can take advantage of the existing network infrastructure to save on telephone usage. VoIP technology also allows it to be integrated with Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) using Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). While the IVR system uses Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX). In this study, the implemented contact center serves to receive calls from external parties. Perancangan Infrastruktur VoIP Menggunakan Trixbox Open Source dengan Lapisan Keamanan VPN Antar Klien

PT Batam Bintan Telekomunikasi has several employees scattered across various rooms, and effective communication among them is crucial. Previously, the company relied on a Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) phone system, which proved suboptimal as each room had only one PABX line while accommodating eight employees. Consequently, there was a need to optimize the communication system for PT Batam Bintan Telecommunication employees. The communication system was enhanced by implementing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) as a replacement for the PABX system. VoIP was deployed using a Trixbox server, SIP phones, Zoiper, and MicroSIP applications for making calls on client computers, with VPN (Virtual Private Network) ensuring security between clients. Each employee was provided with a VoIP account registered on the Trixbox server, complete with a telephone number and password. Based on the research findings, the implementation of VoIP on computers within PT Batam Bintan Telekomunikasi's environment, connected through the Trixbox server, significantly facilitated communication among employees, ultimately supporting their performance. This VoIP solution is expected to replace the previous communication system utilized at PT Batam Bintan Telekomunikasi, thus leveraging internet resources to enhance communication efficiency.

Performance of VoIP Using Routing Open Shortest Path First with Multi-Protocol Label Switching

Voice over internet protocol is a communication technology in the world of computer network that can be used for sending voice or video and data transmission over Internet Protocol in real time. VoIP network can be implemented with Asterisk applications as a server to a Private Automatic Branch eXchange applied in a Graphical Network Simulator 3. In this study, VoIP communication using routing OSPF within MPLS will be calculated, the QoS value collected based on impact performance under normal condition and not normal condition (link failure) different varian bandwidth in the network. The results from the simulation show that in normal condition and not normal condition there is average delay value with routing OSPF 4 ms and routing OSPF with MPLS 5 ms, the value of jitter max which same of 6 ms using varian bandwidth from 256 kbps and 512 kbps. All of the QoS parameters, such as delay, jitter and packet loss will be compare to standard ITU-T G.114. This research can be extended with addition of another measurement or another protocol.

The implementation of voice over internet protocol on private automatic branch exchange using analog telephone adapter

Voice over internet protocol is a technology that has offer to the telephone by Internet Protocol and has developed to be VoIP IP PBX which can be connected between VoIP and Private Automatic Branch eXchange, the use of technology VoIP IP PBX would be being easy more and emphasizing of the cost to the increasing extension telephone analog which is on the private automatic branch exchange without added Central Private Automatic Branch eXchange. To implemented that idea, so we make server VoIP by using elastix as IP PBX server which is installed to the PC, and then using analog telephone adapter as signal conversion analog to the digital to be connected to the private automatic branch exchange. Measuring is done by calling between client as much as 12 times in 5 minutes. And the value of quality of service Jitter is 2,004 ms, Delay is 91,562 ms, and Packet Loss is 3%, so it can be categorized that quality of internet telephone is well done, it is based on ITU-T G. 114.

Bidirectional Communication With EPABX for Hotel Management Software (HMS) using Handshaking Protocol

AWireless Local Area Network Soft Cell Phone (SCP) System with Multimedia and Data Services

Most organizations concurrently maintain private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX) and Local Area Network (LAN) for information interchange within their organization. This is obviously a waste of resources and avoidable duplication of communication systems. The existing LAN can be used as a communication backbone for the in house telephone operations with no extra cost and resources. In view of this, a portable and a platform independent Software-Based Cell Phone (SCP) was proposed for the existing LANs infrastructure in the organizations. The SPC is a telephony application with a user friendly interface which is capable of handling voice, video and text messages without compromising the Quality of Service (QoS) of the existing LAN.

An integrated system for data backup and supervision of activities (with management of the natural language) in e-learning contexts

This article describes an integrated system managed by an artificial agent (ChatBot) whose knowledge base has been realised in Artificial Intelligence Markup Languange (AIML). The system is able to constantly supervise the activities of the servers and, at the same time, realise backup distribution to safeguard the data in e-learning contexts. It also interacts with a Private Automatic Branch eXchange (PABX) for the management of the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone system. This system has been conceived as support for the management of web sections and, in particular, web-learning (w-learning) platforms. The purpose is to be able to watch the platform's activity all the time to immediately 'warn' when there are problems deriving from the platform contents and warn the technical area in case of failures in the server system that contains the w-learning platform. In addition, the backup system guarantees having a frequently updated file of the data present on the various servers on which the e-learning platform leans so that safety can be guaranteed in case of the permanent loss of the data present on the servers.

Techniques for the integration of packet voice and data on IEEE 802.3 LANs

The effect of tuning a number of transmission parameters on the capacity of 802.3 Local Area Networks for carrying packetized voice and mixed voice and data traffic is described. The parameter variations considered do not affect packet structure, and can thus be implemented on existing LAN systems using standard Very Large Scale Integration LAN parts. A primary problem with speech packets is the irreducible packetization delay. This can be brought to acceptable limits using multiplexing techniques, which leads to a design strategy for a distributed Private Automatic Branch Exchange capable of switching combined voice and data services.

Experimental VLSI techniques and an architectural concept are described which permit the realization of an experimental single-chip private automatic branch exchange (PABX) for switching voice and data. Analysis indicates that up to 40 telephones and 40 data terminals could be interconnected with a single chip. The architecture makes it possible to interconnect multiple PABX chips to form a larger system. The single-chip concept is made possible by distributed switching near the subscriber, digital interface, a new `orthogonal' RAM, and a low-power line-driving technique, all of which are included in this investigation.

Problems encountered in the design of a multimicroprocessor-controlled private automatic branch exchange (PABX) using space division analogue switching concepts are discussed. The design organization includes pairs of groups of subscribers. Each group is controlled by a microprocessor with a private memory; the system also includes a common memory accessible by all the microprocessors. The maximum number of subscribers is 256 in each pair of groups; this is governed by the 8-bit word length of the microprocessors used. If the word length of the processor is doubled, the maximum number may reach 6000 subscribers per pair of groups; this is limited by the available addressing space because memory-mapped I/O control is used. A further increase in the number of subscribers per pair of groups may be achieved if memory space is not an obstacle, since the processor speed does not pose any limitation on the organization used for up to 110 000 subscribers per pair of groups. Expansion of such an organization scheme by adding more group pairs is possible; however, this makes hardware interfacing in the system slightly more complex. A complete design for a pair of groups controlled by two microprocessors and servicing 256 subscribers is described. The implementation of this design in the laboratory is discussed. The main requirements of multiprocessing were applied to the proposed PABX with regard to the logic, software and hardware design. The design of all the microprocessor circuits is given. All external circuits responsible for counting and storing dialled digits, generating telephone tones and interfacing are described in detail. The main programs and accompanying subroutines are discussed and their flowcharts are given. The complete design provided a satisfactory telephone service when realized in the laboratory. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the system are discussed.

Traditionally the private telephone exchange functions as a switch to connect a group of extension users in an organisation to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and to connect these extension users to each other — and that's all. Organizations, and particularly their information services departments, are facing more difficult problems as society inexorably moves into the information age. The ability of organizations to survive in the future may very well depend upon their capacity to satisfactorily cope with the pace of technological change. With the rate at which technologies such as word processors, electronic mail, personal computing, facsimile devices, private automatic branch exchanges (PABXs), voice recognition systems, intelligent copiers, to name but a few, are being introduced in organizations, well thought out information management strategies are needed. The purpose of this paper is to propose a stage theory of growth which could help organizations develop appropriate information management strategies dealing with electronic office information systems; and additionally, to underline the key role that electronic information systems may play as organizations face the problems of moving into the information age.

A continuously variable slope adaptive delta modulation codec system

The author describes a CMOS single-chip monolithic adaptive delta modulation coder/decoder (codec). The codec uses a 56 kHz sample rate and is implemented with novel switched-capacitor circuits. The simplicity and efficiency of the encoding/decoding scheme allows the inclusion of several other functions on the chip, including a dual-tone multifrequency generator and and an 8-step programmable attenuator. These features make it especially suitable for private automatic branch exchange (PABX) applications. Experimental results are presented that show the circuit meets the necessary systems requirement for all usual applications.

Establishment communication systems

In the sixties and early seventies, major activities in networking were focused on private and public data networks using either circuit and packet-switching technology or integrating both switching methods into a single network. In this time frame, manufacturers of main frames defined and implemented network architectures, ISO started work on the reference model of the Open-System Interconnect Architecture, and CCITT recommended the X-series of interfaces. Local-area communication networks (LAN's) represent a comparatively new field of activity which can be viewed as an extension to data networks for making high-speed packet-switching services available to the in-house domain. Currently, much research and development work is being pursued in this field, both at universities and in industry. The term local refers to communication on the users' premises, i.e., within a building or among a cluster of buildings. Local data and voice communication are not new. A typical example of a system widely used today for local data communication between hosts and display terminals is a star configuration where the terminals are attached to control units tightly coupled to a processor via I/O channels. The necessary terminal control functions are provided in the control unit and shared among a set of terminals. The most widely used local communication system is the Private Automatic Branch Exchange (PABX). Most PABX's installed today are optimised for real-time voice, and use analog technology.

Digital private branch exchanges

A digital private automatic branch exchange provides a plurality of ports which may comprise line trunks or operator circuits, the ports being grouped with each group being controlled by an individual microprocessor circuit which performs all real time control over the ports. Voice communication between ports is effected by time division multiplex in connection with a digital switch system forming part of a common control which is controlled by a central processing unit responsive to the microprocessors in each port group for assigning time slots to each interconnection channel. Isolation between the central processing unit and the rest of the system is provided by a peripheral bus to which the common control units and port groups are connected, which peripheral bus is connected to the CPU bus by way of an interface circuit, permitting the system to operate with various types of central processing units without redesign of the peripheral units. A conference circuit is also provided for making available a range of conference sizes by combining the available lines to the conference circuit into groups of a predetermined size which may be expanded by combining groups to form conferences of larger or intermediate size.
