Ultrasonic cavitation strengthening and generation of superhydrophobicity for the surface of in situ (ZrB2 + Al2O3)/AA6016 matrix composite

To enhance the operating stability and durability of the aluminum matrix composite, the superhydrophobic surface is constructed on the substrate of in situ ZrB2 and Al2O3 nano-particle reinforced AA6016 matrix composite. The method incorporating ultrasonic cavitation treatment and low surface energy modification is applied. The performance of the obtained superhydrophobic surface is investigated through comprehensively analyzing micro and nano surface structures, roughness, water contact angle, chemical composition, and mechanical property. The results indicate that the water contact angle and water sliding angle of the specimen treated with cavitation for 9 min and then modified with fluorosilane attain 163.8° and 7.3°, respectively. High superhydrophobicity is accomplished. Long exposure to ultrasonic cavitation treatment results in the shift from hydrophobicity to hydrophilicity. The presence of particle-reinforced phases induces a pinning effect, causing the accumulation and entanglement of dislocations beneath the surface. This phenomenon leads to a 64.7 % increase in surface hardness, and the thickness of the work hardening layer reaches about 300 μm. The obtained conclusions shed light on the preparation of superhydrophobic surface for the aluminum matrix composite, and the application of aluminum matrix composites in harsh environment is expected to be broadened.

Preparation of robust superhydrophobic surface on PET substrate using Box-Behnken design and facile sanding method with PTFE powder

Superhydrophobic surfaces have attracted increasing interests due to their excellent features, while achieving facile preparation of superhydrophobic surface with good mechanical stability is still a challenging work. In this paper, we prepared a superhydrophobic surface by sanding polytetrafluoroethylene powder directly onto the surface of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film by means of a simple sanding method with sandpaper. The fabrication parameters were firstly optimized using response surface methodology. Surface morphology and chemical composition of the fabricated surface were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The mechanical performance of the superhydrophobic PET surfaces was evaluated by tape peeling test, and potential applications of this surface in self-cleaning and anti-icing were finally carried out. The results showed that the water contact angle up to 153.5° and sliding angle less than ∼3° on PET surface could be prepared under the optimum conditions, and its superhydrophobicity of surfaces was attributed to the synergistically effect of low surface energy and surface roughness. The fabricated superhydrophobic surfaces also exhibited good resistance to abrasion, and they have great potential for application in the fields of self-cleaning and anti-icing.

Construction of wear resistant superhydrophobic structure without degrading the surface mechanical properties of alloy layer

The vulnerability of superhydrophobic surface structures frequently leads to a loss of their superhydrophobicity under friction, significantly restricting their broad-scale applicability. The preparation of alloy layers emerges as an effective strategy to enhance the mechanical properties of metal surfaces. The construction of superhydrophobic structures without loss of mechanical properties of alloy layer is expected to lead to the preparation of superhydrophobic surface with excellent wear resistance. In this study, a superhydrophobic surface with excellent hardness and wear resistance was successfully prepared by a two-step process of electrospark deposition and anodization. The superhydrophobic surface maintained superhydrophobicity under long distance friction. Firstly, alloy layer with micron bulges and excellent mechanical properties was constructed on the metal surface by electrospark deposition, which was then slightly anodized to create hierarchical micro-nano bulges rather favourable to superhydrophobicity, and anodization did not degrade mechanical properties of the surface. The surface is provided with excellent superhydrophobicity after modification with fluorosilane. SEM, 3D profilometer and roughness tester were adopted to explore microscopic morphology of the sample surfaces. XPS and FTIR were used to explore chemical components of the sample surfaces. The element distribution of the sample surfaces was analysed through EDS, and wettability of the sample surfaces was explored through the contact angle test. The hardness test and wear test were applied to explore mechanical properties of the sample surfaces. It was proved through linear friction, droplet impact, hammering and knife scratch that the superhydrophobic surface could maintain good superhydrophobicity under multiple forms of mechanical destruction, while the neutral salt spray test, electrochemical tests and acid and alkali soaking test proved the excellent property of corrosion resistance of the superhydrophobic surface. In addition, the prepared superhydrophobic surface also features an excellent self-cleaning property.

Preparation and Self-Cleaning Properties of a Superhydrophobic Composite Coating on a Stainless Steel Substrate

In order to improve the anti-fouling of stainless steel surfaces in outdoor or humid environments, a superhydrophobic modification is often used to improve its self-cleaning performance. However, the mechanical stability of superhydrophobic surfaces remains a challenge. In this paper, a two-step preparation method was adopted to prepare the micro–nanocomposite coating, which innovatively combined “top-down” and “bottom-up” approaches, and also coupled together two key factors that affect superhydrophobicity: a rough microstructure, and low surface energy. The silver mirror, adhesion, and pollution-resistance results show that the composite coating samples, which were obtained by optimizing the preparation process, have excellent water repellency and self-cleaning properties. Meanwhile, the samples demonstrate outstanding mechanical stability, and can resist damage from sandpaper and tape. The two-step preparation method was simple, fast, and efficient. This method could be popularized and applied to the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces on metal substrates.

A two-step laser-jet electrodeposition for the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces on SUS304

A laser-jet electrodeposition step-by-step processing was used to fabricate a superhydrophobic surface with excellent performance on the SUS304 substrate. Firstly, different micro structures were obtained by laser texturing on the surface of the SUS304 substrate. Secondly, Ni-MoS2 composite coating was deposited on the SUS304 substrate with microstructure by jet electrodeposition. Previous research has shown that different sizes of microstructures can be processed on the substrate surface and exhibit different wettability if changing the scanning pitch of laser textures. Superhydrophobic surfaces with contact angles up to 156 ° and 151.5 ° were obtained when jet electrodeposited on the basis of laser scanning pitches with 1 and 1.5 times the laser spot diameter. Compared with hydrophobic surfaces only by the laser, the superhydrophobic surfaces have shown superior corrosion resistance and self-cleaning properties. In addition, the superhydrophobic surface produced by the two-step laser-jet electrodeposition still exhibits good superhydrophobicity after undergoing friction, which indicates that the superhydrophobic surface has excellent mechanical stability by two-step laser-jet electrodeposition.

Research Progress on Superhydrophobic Surface Preparation Methods and Mechanical Durability

Abstract: Superhydrophobic surfaces have great application prospects due to their unique surface- wetting characteristics. However, superhydrophobic surfaces' micro-nano binary rough structure and low surface energy components are easily damaged or lost by wear and grease, which affects their durability and limits their practical application, so it is of great significance to study the durability of superhydrophobic surfaces. The review first introduces the preparation methods and application fields of superhydrophobic surfaces, then sorts out the test methods for the durability performance of superhydrophobic surfaces, methods to improve the durability of superhydrophobic surfaces are summarized， and finally points out some problems in the current research on the durability of superhydrophobic surfaces, aiming to have a comprehensive understanding of the research progress of durable superhydrophobic surfaces, provide some theoretical guidance for the development of durable superhydrophobic surfaces, and look forward to the development direction and trend of durable superhydrophobic surface research in the future. There have been substantial improvements achieved in the preparation techniques to increase the mechanical durability of superhydrophobic surfaces and widen their applications. This review examines pertinent patents and articles on the fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces from both domestic and foreign sources. The paper introduces the fundamental preparation methods for superhydrophobic surfaces and examines three common techniques: the template method, the spraying method, and the etching method. Additionally, the study discusses these preparation methods and presents future development trends based on the latest research findings. Aiming at the mechanical durability of superhydrophobic surfaces, the test methods for the durability performance of superhydrophobic surfaces under mechanical action are reviewed. The paper also suggests four key methods for enhancing the durability of superhydrophobic surfaces. The refinement of superhydrophobic surface preparation techniques plays a crucial role in enhancing durability and broadening the applications of these surfaces. Additionally, it holds the potential to unlock new possibilities across various domains. The future holds promising prospects for the invention of additional patents and papers focused on superhydrophobic surfaces.

Comparative study of the anti-corrosive properties of thiols induced superhydrophobic surfaces

Fluoroalkyl thiols and alkyl thiols are widely used as low surface energy reagents for the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces and corrosion resistant surfaces. Although the corrosion resistance of thiol-induced superhydrophobic surfaces has been well addressed previously, few studies have devoted to revealing the difference of fluoroalkyl thiol and alkyl thiol modified surfaces towards anti-corrosion. In this work, two types of superhydrophobic surfaces were prepared by respectively coating self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of 1 H,1 H,2 H,2 H-perfluorodecanethiol (PFDT) and 1-dodecanethiol (DDT) on femtosecond laser engineered copper substrates. The formation mechanism of the SAMs was explained by analyzing the surface chemical composition. The water contact angle of the PFDT and DDT modified surfaces were measured to be 157.7° and 154.6°, respectively. Electrochemical tests showed that both SAMs significantly reduced the corrosion current density (Icorr) and corrosion rate of the copper surfaces, while simultaneously increased the charge transfer resistance (Rct) value by an order of magnitude compared to the pristine copper surface. The surface with PFDT SAM had the smallest Icorr and its Rct value was about 1.5 times larger than that with the DDT SAM. These results confirmed that both the SAMs enhanced the anti-corrosion properties of the copper surfaces, and the PFDT SAM was proved to be more effective. Furthermore, the anti-corrosion durability of the PFDT and DDT modified surfaces were compared after exposing them to salt, acid, and alkali solutions for 12 h, and the results showed that the surfaces maintained to be hydrophobic and anti-corrosive, and the PFDT induced superhydrophobic surface indicated better durability. Our results demonstrated that thiols SAMs could significantly improve the anti-corrosion property of structured metal surfaces, and that fluoroalkyl thiol was more desired for long-term anti-corrosive applications in comparison with alkyl thiol.

Study on Nonfluorinated Preparation and Properties of Superhydrophobic Surface

The preparation of a superhydrophobic surface on metal can improve the self-cleaning, anti-fouling, and anti-bacterial properties of the surface. At present, the superhydrophobicity of the sample surface is mostly obtained by modifying the rough surface with fluorine-containing modifiers, which is unfavorable to the environment. Therefore, developing superhydrophobic surfaces without environmental pollution has become a research hotspot. Based on laser etching technology, the rough surface with a micro-nano dual-scale structure was prepared on aluminum alloy, and then a green and natural saturated fatty acid — myristic acid was used to modify the rough surface. Contact angle measuring instrument, depth of field microscope, scanning electron microscope and Fourier transform infrared spectrometer were used to characterize the wettability, surface morphology, and chemical composition of the modified rough surface (S1). Self-cleaning, anti-contamination, antibacterial, mechanical durability, and thermal stability of the S1 surface were tested experimentally. The wetting of droplets on hydrophobic surface was simulated by using COMSOL Multiphysics software, and a computational model was established to compare different functional structures, so as to understand the influence of parameters on the enhancement of hydrophobic properties of material surface. The results showed that the static contact angle (WCA) of the surface modified by myristic acid reached 152.3[Formula: see text], and the hydrophobic index was −0.808, and the WCA value first increased and then decreased with the change of modification time and concentration. With the increase of myristic acid concentration, the peak value of the contact angle WCA of S1 was negatively correlated with modification time. The self-cleaning rate, anti-stain rate, and antibacterial rate of S1 were 91.4%, 83.6% and 88.4%, respectively, showing excellent self-cleaning, anti-stain, and antibacterial ability. In the mechanical durability test, the S1 surface can resist at least 50 times tape peeling, 30 times steel wool friction and wear, the and 180[Formula: see text]g sand falling impact test still keeps superhydrophobic. In the thermal stability test, the S1 surface remains superhydrophobic after heat treatment at 100–200[Formula: see text]C for 30[Formula: see text]h. In this study, the multifunctional superhydrophobic surface was obtained on aluminum alloy by laser etching technology combined with a green fluorine-free modifier, which provided some meaningful ideas and references for the green preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces and the application and development of superhydrophobic surfaces in biomedical metals.

Review on condensation frosting and defrosting experiments for superhydrophobic surfaces

Frosting is a natural phase change phenomenon which happens frequently in nature and industry and has negative effects on a variety of applications. As a passive anti-frosting strategy, superhydrophobic surfaces have been paid more and more attention. To shed light on the process and space–time characteristics of frosting on superhydrophobic surfaces, the preparation methods of superhydrophobic surfaces were introduced first. Then, the internal mechanisms of anti-frosting for superhydrophobic surfaces were revealed from two perspectives of condensation frosting and defrosting. For the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces, previous studies have shown that laser etching could obtain ideal surface parameters, but there is still a lack of a preparation scheme with low cost and good reliability. For the condensation frosting on superhydrophobic surfaces, the surface with regular surface morphology could realize the spontaneous wettability transformation of the droplets and maintain the size of the condensed droplets within 10–20 μm. The freezing time of droplets on the surface with a regular micro-nano structure is about 4.42 times longer than that on the surface without a regular micro-nano structure. The condensation stage and droplet freezing stage are the keys to preventing frost on superhydrophobic surfaces. For the defrosting on superhydrophobic surfaces, the photothermal defrosting method using metal nanowires, graphene, and carbon nanotubes has a broad application prospect. The results of this study summarized the achievements, problems, and challenges of the current research, so as to provide a reference for the anti-frosting technology of superhydrophobic surfaces in practical applications.

Laser belt processed micropillars with microporous structure and nanoparticles to control the surface wettability of superhydrophobic Inconel 718 alloy

The superhydrophobic surface features such as self-cleaning, keeping dry and low adhesion have wide application prospects in biotechnology, medicine, and engineering. As a superhydrophobic surface machining method, pulsed laser ablation has attracted wide attention due to its high precision. However, due to the efficiency, pulsed laser composite processing technology has gradually developed into the main preparation method for superhydrophobic surfaces. A effective machining method (laser belt collaborative processing) for superhydrophobic surface preparation was proposed in this paper. The microgroove surface could be prepared by using a pyramid abrasive belt with regular consistency of abrasive height and a high precision picosecond laser. After rotating the workpiece 90°, the micropillar surface could be formed by machining again. The height of micropillars increases significantly with the increase of the laser power. There are multiscale structures on the micropillar surface, including micropores, microaggregates, and nanoparticles. With the design spacing of the micropillar increasing to 80 μm, the contact angle reaches a maximum value of 153.8° The adsorption of carbon elements and the low solid-liquid contact fraction are beneficial to the enhancement of surface hydrophobicity. The superhydrophobic micropillar surface is extremely stable, which can withstand various harsh treatments/environments, such as sandpaper abrasion, tape peeling. A new processing method for superhydrophobic micropillar surface preparation was proved, which is conducive to the application of superhydrophobic surfaces.

background: Superhydrophobic surfaces have broad application prospects in several fields due to their excellent hydrophobic properties, but the traditional methods of manufacturing superhydrophobic surfaces are time-consuming and laborious, the surface wear resistance is poor, and the chemical reagents contain toxic substances, making it difficult to promote the use of superhydrophobicity inexpensively. objective: To solve the problems of high cost, instability, and poor mechanical properties of superhydrophobic structures, we explore the preparation methods of superhydrophobic surface structures to improve the surface superhydrophobicity and reduce manufacturing and usage costs. methods: This paper provides an overview of the literature on preparing superhydrophobic structures and improving superhydrophobic properties. Based on the summary of the research results of other scholars, this paper focuses on the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces by carbine-co-polymerization covalent grafting chemical reactions and the improvement of superhydrophobic properties by durable opaque coatings with vacuum-deposited layers. results: These two methods are simple to operate and circumvent the problem of oxidative degradation of compounds in the natural environment to produce environmental pollutants. The method I produces a low surface energy stratified micro-nano composite structure on the fiber surface of the fabric by carbon copolymerization covalent grafting reaction. The method II prepares a durable opaque coating with a vacuum-deposited layer, particularly useful on mechanical components or for any other applications not requiring an optically clear coating. conclusion: This paper provides an important basis for optimizing the preparation process of superhydrophobic structures, synthesizing and developing environmentally friendly superhydrophobic materials, extending the service life of superhydrophobic materials, and provides specific guidance for improving the superhydrophobic properties and durability and enhancing the combination of superhydrophobic surfaces with additional functions.

Preparation of 2024-T351 aluminum alloy superhydrophobic surface by laser peening without absorption layer and without confinement layer

The purpose of this study was to investigate the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces on 2024-T351 aluminum alloy by laser peening without absorption layer and without confinement layer (LPwAC). The wettability, residual stress and microhardness of the treated specimens were measured. The surface morphology of the specimen was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, and the surface elements and crystal orientation were analyzed. The experimental results showed that the micro-nanoporous structure appeared on specimen surface after LPwAC treatment. The superhydrophobic state was observed after chemical modification reduced the surface energy. Additionally, the crystallinity of the surface was increased, the hardness was improved, and residual compressive stress was generated inside the material. LPwAC is an effective process for the preparation of stable 2024-T351 aluminum alloy superhydrophobic surfaces.

Rapid transition from superhydrophilic to superhydrophobic of hierarchical Ni-CeO2 coating via vacuum heating on steel substrate for anti-scaling property

Preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces on steel substrate usually required the low-energy material modification. Although some reportedly hierarchically structured coatings achieved superhydrophobicity after only storage in air without low-energy modification, the storage time usually required more than seven days. Herein, the hierarchical Ni-CeO2 coating were prepared on the steel substrate by one-step electrodeposition, and this coating transformed from superhydrophilic to superhydrophobic with the water contact angle of 153° and the roll-off angle of 4.3° by heating treatment under a low vacuum for 12 h. For comparation, we also prepared an electrodeposited Ni coating on the steel substrate. However, it only achieved hydrophobicity with the water contact angle of 129.2° after heating treatment under a low vacuum for 12 h. In this study, the microstructure and addition of cerium dioxide on the adsorption behavior of two coatings were investigated. The transformation process of wettability was analyzed utilizing adsorption theory. The results showed that the Ni-CeO2 coating demonstrated excellent anti-scaling performance under static and dynamic conditions, with a corrosion inhibition rate of greater than 95%. The stability of the coating was also demonstrated to be strong. This research presents a shortened preparation method for the creation of no-modification superhydrophobic surfaces and provides technical and theoretical support for the development of such surfaces. Moreover, the treatment significantly reduced the transition time for wettability without modification.

Facile Preparation of Durable Superhydrophobic Coating by Liquid-Phase Deposition for Versatile Oil/Water Separation

Serious damage caused by oily wastewater makes the development of efficient superhydrophobic and superoleophilic materials for oil/water separation processes critical and urgent. Herein, durable superhydrophobic nanometer-scale TiO2 grains with low-surface-energy substance composite-modified materials were fabricated by using a cost-effective and facile synthesis method for the gravity-driven separation of oil/water mixtures under harsh conditions. Different substrates, such as sawdust, wheat straw, cotton, sponge and fabric, were applied for superhydrophobic surface preparation, and various low-surface-energy reagents could interact with deposited TiO2 nanoparticles, including cetylamine, dodecanethiol, stearic acid and HDTMS. The resultant materials showed superhydrophobic properties with a water contact angle (WCA) higher than 150.8°. The separation of various oil/water mixtures with high efficiency and purity was acquired by using the as-prepared sponge. More importantly, the coated sponge exhibited good resistance to various harsh environmental solutions. Moreover, its superhydrophobicity also remained even after 12 months of storage in air or 10 cycles of abrasion. The durable superhydrophobic coating prepared in this work could be practically used for the highly efficient separation of oil/water mixtures under various harsh conditions.

Facile fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces via spraying with silicone-urea copolymers

The microphase separation method is recognized as one of the most promising approaches to fabricate superhydrophobic surfaces (SHS), but it is still subjected to confined polymer materials, expensive instruments, and complicated techniques. Here we innovatively proposed a solvent evaporation-induced self-assembly method to produce SHS with facile prepared, environmentally friendly, ultrafast ambient temperature curable properties. In this study, a new category of silicone-urea copolymers was synthesized via step-growth polymerization of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and different diisocyanates. The SHS induced by the microphase separation and solvent evaporation was then fabricated by spraying these copolymer solutions onto various substrates. It was discovered that the surface superhydrophobicity and morphology can be readily tuned by varying the spraying concentrations, diisocyantes, solvents, spraying heights, and molecular weight of PDMS. And those synthesized copolymers were assembled into micrometer-size fibers or spheres consisting of hierarchical microstructure using tetrahydrofuran as spraying solvent and 10–15 cm spraying height, and the contact angles of surfaces reached 119° and 153°, respectively. To further explore the possible formation mechanism of the SHS, small-angle scattering, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were carried out to investigate the effects of the microphase separation and solvent evaporation. With the induced microscopic roughness caused by the copolymers, these prepared super-anti-wetting surfaces have been demonstrated for potential utilization in the field of waterproofing, self-cleaning, and antifouling aspects. This work provides an effective way for the potential large-scale preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces with environmentally friendly materials and straightforward techniques.

Preparation and properties of polytetrafluoroethylene superhydrophobic surface

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), as a typical hydrophobic material, has a very wide range of applications in various industries. However, the surface contact angle cannot reach the superhydrophobic effect, increasing cleaning costs. Here, we successfully prepared PTFE superhydrophobic surface by ball milling and spraying. The results show that the low surface energy is an important reason why the droplets remain spherical on the surface of the material and do not spread. The micro-nano secondary structure can support the droplets, and the air cushion formed helps the material surface to have a higher contact angle. The surface contact angle of the PTFE plate sprayed with 3% graphene/hydrophobic nano-SiO2 composite powder is 161.05°. After 10 times of tape stripping, the contact area between droplets and air remains above 85.00%. After 10 times of friction and wear, the contact angle remains above 150°. The wettability of the material is not significantly affected due to structural similarity and material consistency. This approach may carve a feasible way for the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces and reduces the cleaning cost of PTFE surfaces.

Sustainable and Practical Superhydrophobic Surfaces via Mechanochemical Grafting

AbstractThe broad adoption of superhydrophobic surfaces in practical applications is hindered by limitations of existing methods in terms of excessive usage of solvents, the need for tedious and lengthy chemical processes, insufficient biocompatibility, and the high cost of materials. Herein, a mechanochemical approach for practical and solvent‐free manufacturing of superhydrophobic surfaces is reported. This approach enables solvent‐free and ultra‐rapid preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces in a single‐step without the need for any washing, separation, and drying steps. The hydrolytic rupture of siloxane bonds and generation of free radicals induced by mechanochemical pathways play a key role in covalent grafting of silicone to the surface of nanoparticles that leads to superhydrophobic surfaces with a water contact angle of >165° and a sliding angle of <2°. The direct use of industrially available and non‐functional silicone materials together with demonstrated applicability to inorganic nanoparticles of varied composition greatly contribute to the scalability of the presented approach. The resulting superhydrophobic surfaces are highly biocompatible as demonstrated by fibroblast cells using two different assays. Monolith materials fabricated from silicone‐grafted nanoparticles exhibit bulk and durable superhydrophobicity. The presented approach offers tremendous potential with sustainability, scalability, cost‐effectiveness, simplicity, biocompatibility, and universality.

Preparation of superhydrophobic surface from raspberry like particles of bifunctional polyssesquioxane

AbstractIn this article, we selected MTMS and ETMS as mixed precursors to generate polysiloxane particles on the surface of styrene copolymer microspheres, forming raspberry‐like particles. The best experimental formula was obtained by orthogonal test. When the ratio of MTMS and ETMS was 3:1, the hydrophobic properties of composite particles reached the best, with a water contact angle (WCA) of 163° and a WSA of 3°. The hydrophobic models of raspberry particles were established. And the influence of gas–liquid contact components, surface roughness and precursor ratio on hydrophobic properties was clarified by theoretical calculation, Fourier transform infrared and X‐ray diffraction analysis. The prepared superhydrophobic surface shows great application potential in self‐cleaning, antifouling and other fields.

However, the release of nickel ions into human liquid during corrosion process would cause great harm to human body. It has been found that super-hydrophobic surface with superior anti-corrosion performance could greatly solve this issue. Therefore, the preparation of green and healthy super-hydrophobic layer on nickel-titanium alloy surface has significant medical value. In this work, we explored a newly method of fabricating healthy super-hydrophobic surface with contact angle (WCA) of 153.2° ± 1.5°, and roll angle (RA) of 6° ± 0.5°by combination of nitinol alloy laser irradiation. Particularly, high temperature annealing was firstly adopted in the fabrication procession of super-hydrophobic surface, which can bring great reference value to the research in this filed. Besides, the formation mechanism was also revealed via the analysis of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Furthermore, corrosion behavior was also investigated by electrochemical impedance (EIS) analysis to illustrate preventing nickel ions release performance. Unlike the traditional super-hydrophobic surface preparation methods, this method does not introduce any toxic substances, which has great application prospects in the medical field.
