This article analyzes femicide, understood as violent action against women due to their gender, a situation that has become in recent years a problem of a legal and social nature of the first magnitude; The present investigation identified the presence of risk of violence against the couple and describes the factors that have had the greatest involvement, in order to establish the different variables that arise in the study. The instrument used was the risk assessment guide against the couple called protocol (S.A.R.A), which assesses the risk of serious physical, sexual violence and threats within the couple or former partner. The sample consisted of 22 cases of subjects sentenced for crimes of femicide and attempted femicide of the Turi Social Rehabilitation Center, of the canton Cuenca, Azuay Province, period 2018. The research design was descriptive, correlational, non-experimental, transversal with quantitative approach. The results obtained show that (54.5%) of persons deprived of liberty (PPL) are at risk of recidivism in committing violent acts against the couple; The risk factors associated with it are the serious problems they experienced with their partner in the last year with (59.1%) and (45%) related to substance use. It is evident that 50% of people manifest episodes of previous physical violence in the context of their relationship, which makes it a predictor of future violence.
