Exploration of Entrepreneurship Education Model and Practice in Five-Year Integrated Vocational Education Stage

Against the backdrop of the “20 Articles of Vocational Education,” how to promote high-quality vocational development, build a comprehensive, adaptive, and targeted entrepreneurship education model, promote student employment and entrepreneurship, and improve the quality of talent cultivation has become an important issue in the talent cultivation of five-year vocational colleges. This article takes students in the five-year integrated vocational education stage as the research object, starting from the development of the industrial economy, talent employment competitiveness, and students’ innovation ability, to expound on the practical significance of entrepreneurship education. Combining top-level design, curriculum setting, faculty strength, and practical bases, it analyzes the problems existing in and explores the entrepreneurship education model and practical strategies in the five-year integrated vocational education stage from four aspects: transforming vocational education concepts, classifying and constructing curriculum systems, attaching importance to the construction of entrepreneurial and entrepreneurial faculty, and relying on multi-party collaborative platforms.

Entrepreneurship Educators in an Age of Climate and Ecological Breakdown

It is stated, with increasing frequency and urgency, that Entrepreneurship Education should help society move past Business as Usual, the unsustainable development pathway which depletes communities and is driving climate and ecological breakdown. We agree with this ideal, but our lived experience suggests that the everyday philosophy and practice of mainstream Entrepreneurship Education means this shift will be challenging for many educators. Mainstream narratives of economic growth and tools such as Business Model Canvas erase social and ecological concerns, compromising the Entrepreneurship Educator in the way they prioritize economic concerns over un/sustainability. Our question is, given the demand for transformation in Entrepreneurship Education, how do we—educators—change ourselves and our practice? In this paper we blend action-based accounts of change with interpretations from a dialogic perspective to elaborate how Entrepreneurship Educators can, and already are, taking action in light of climate and ecological breakdown. We provide a way of thinking about how change happens—in and through relations and dialogue between people—and new conceptual directions—the metacrisis and time between worlds—which aim to contribute a source of agency for educators.

Practical Problems and Innovative Strategies of Higher Vocational Dual-Creation Education in the New Era

The implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship education practice is the direction of in-depth research and reform of higher vocational education in China. This paper discusses the problems and innovation strategies of higher vocational “dual-creation” education practice in the new period, objectively analyzes the problems existing in the innovation and entrepreneurship education of higher vocational colleges, and puts forward the innovation path with the core concepts of “four-fold integration,” “five-step progression,” and “six-dimensional support,” aiming to provide a reference value for China’s higher vocational colleges.

Entrepreneurship Education: Fostering the Entrepreneurial Spirit of Higher Education Tarbiyah Faculty Students in Aceh

Entrepreneurship education is oriented towards offering concepts to develop interest, train, and form business actors. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify the concept of entrepreneurship education developed in the Tarbiyah faculty of higher education in Aceh, to describe the process of implementing entrepreneurship education in fostering the entrepreneurial spirit of higher education Tarbiyah faculty students at Aceh. This research uses a qualitative method where the researcher thoroughly examines the facts at the research location according to the focus of the problem, by researching directly at the research location, then the data from the analysis is presented and a discussion of data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation is given. The results of this study indicate that the concept of entrepreneurship education developed in Tarbiyah faculty colleges in Aceh is by providing entrepreneurship education materials and practices so that students have the spirit and additional skills needed after students graduate so that they are able to become entrepreneurs independently. The implementation of entrepreneurship education in lectures to foster an entrepreneurial spirit for Tarbiyah faculty students is carried out through a learning process of direction and example. Entrepreneurship learning is carried out by providing practical material so that students can have more experience and have a good entrepreneurial mentality. Practices include thinking about what to sell, making business products directly, selling and marketing products online or offline. The obstacle is the lack of funds and facilities available to support student practical activities.

The relationship between VET teachers’ entrepreneurship education teaching practices and students’ learning needs

ABSTRACT This article contributes to the field of entrepreneurship education (EE) research by raising the question of vocational teachers’ ability to respond to the students’ need for entrepreneurial guidance. The main research question in this article is: How do VET teachers’ EE teaching practices match with the learning needs of the students. Two types of quantitative data and the theory of guided preparation are used to answer this question. The first part of the data was collected from Finnish VET teachers and the second part from Finnish ninth graders applying for VET. Based on these two datasets, a four-field matrix was formed and how teachers are successfully able to boost students’ entrepreneurial preparedness was analysed. The research findings have implications for guidance within VET, both for the students and the teachers. The results combining the teachers’ EE practices with students’ learning needs open a wide range of new possibilities to understand the relevance and timeliness of EE.

Performance Evaluation of School Enterprise Collaborative Innovation and Practice of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Based on the Improved AHP Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method

Under the influence of the COVID-19, great changes have taken place in China’s economic structure and market subjects and college students are facing difficulties in employment. By carrying out collaborative innovation between schools and enterprises, cultivating high-quality talents to meet social needs has become an important way to solve difficulties. Based on the input-process-output principle, a performance evaluation index system for collaborative innovation is constructed, which includes 3 primary indicators and 22 secondary indicators. The weights of each indicator are determined using improved AHP. A mathematical model for evaluating the performance of school enterprise collaborative innovation is established using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. The evaluation value of the innovation and entrepreneurship education case project is 0.82, indicating that the overall operation is in good condition. The cooperation between schools and enterprises has created a favorable atmosphere and accumulated rich experience for carrying out innovation and entrepreneurship education. Good results have been achieved in talent cultivation and scientific and technological output, but there are also problems such as low conversion rates of scientific and technological achievements. Based on the evaluation results, the article proposes suggestions to improve the performance of collaborative innovation between schools and enterprises. The research results provide theoretical reference for the performance evaluation of school enterprise collaborative innovation and the practice of innovation and entrepreneurship education.

The new situation of social and economic development has brought new challenges and opportunities for college students' employment. Under the background of "mass innovation and entrepreneurship", more and more college graduates choose to start their own business to realize their life ideals and values. This paper analyzes the focus of entrepreneurship education for college students under the background of double creation and builds a "five-in-one" education system from the five aspects of education concept, education content, education method, education platform and education practice of entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities, with a view to providing references for entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities.

This research presents a bibliometric exploration of publication development in entrepreneurship education, aiming to elucidate trends, research focuses, and emerging opportunities within the field. Entrepreneurship education has gained prominence as a crucial discipline in academia and practice, reflecting the growing recognition of entrepreneurship's role in economic and societal advancement. Through bibliometric analysis techniques, including citation analysis, keyword analysis, and visualization methods, a comprehensive examination of scholarly publications related to entrepreneurship education from 1977 to 2023 was conducted. The findings offer insights into publication metrics, such as citation counts, author productivity, and impact indices, providing a nuanced understanding of the scholarly landscape. Visualization of term networks and trends revealed dominant research themes, evolving concepts, and potential research directions within entrepreneurship education. Practical implications derived from this study inform educators, policymakers, practitioners, and other stakeholders about curriculum design, policy formulation, and program implementation strategies to foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence in entrepreneurship education research and practice.

A Study of Innovative Entrepreneurial Behavior of College Students under Algorithmic Recommendation

Abstract In this paper, for a large amount of text content such as college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship education practice, considering the problem of directionality, based on the idea of a recommendation algorithm, we use word similarity and TextRank algorithm to extract the keywords of innovation and entrepreneurship behaviors as the first-knowledge labels of the textual resources, and introduce complex labeling network based on this. On the premise of semantic-based TextRank keywords and tag network, the fusion-gated graph attention group recommendation algorithm is used to construct college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform, and the simulation analysis of college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform is carried out. The results show that the survival rate of virtual startups can be calculated as 5.37% by using the college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship practice platform, which can accurately analyze that college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship behaviors are stronger, but the survival rate of the enterprises founded by college students for the first time needs to be improved. This study can provide theoretical knowledge guidance for the study of college students’ innovative entrepreneurial behavior and has a facilitating effect on the development of innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities.

The Path to Entrepreneurship: The Role of Social Networks in Driving Entrepreneurial Learning and Education

This research aims to examine the extent to which the way entrepreneurs learn is reflected in entrepreneurship education, highlighting the existing gap between the literature on entrepreneurial learning and the practice of entrepreneurship education. To explore entrepreneurial learning in-depth, we adopted an interpretivist-constructivist approach that involves participant observation at coworking spaces and semi-structured interviews with entrepreneurs. Data were subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis. Major findings indicate that social networks play a vital role in facilitating entrepreneurial learning, with context and network serving as essential learning mechanisms. However, these elements are often disregarded in traditional entrepreneurship education approaches. This study highlights a gap in the literature where the focus of entrepreneurial learning is primarily on entrepreneurs, while entrepreneurship education primarily focuses on students and educators. The study’s contribution is its emphasis on the importance of social networks in entrepreneurial learning and its potential for redesigning entrepreneurship education. By bridging the gap between entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurship education, it is possible to create educational approaches that more closely mimic how entrepreneurs learn in real life, potentially leading to more impactful entrepreneurial activity.

Developing the entrepreneurial skills of Nigerian business education students for sustainability: Policy and practice imperatives

Despite the innumerable natural resources available in Nigeria for innovative job creation in green entrepreneurship, the rate of youth unemployment continues to escalate uncontrollably. This unpleasant situation stirred up the concern and commitment of the world leaders to embark on policy and practice of innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship education for proper empowerment of youth towards sustainability of the world economy. Business Education, as a vocational program, has not adequately aligned its curriculum policy and practice with the teaching and learning of green entrepreneurship in Nigeria. The study aims to analyze the entrepreneurial skills of Nigerian business education students for sustainability. The study focuses mainly on the ideal policy and innovative instructional practices, such as management and recycling of wastes, commercialization of green products, and engagement in agribusinesses, among others, that can be explored to adequately empower students of Business Education undergraduate programs for the realization of optimum social, economic and environmental sustainability in Nigeria. Objectives This study focused on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education, which are emerging as new educational alternatives in our society that demands change and innovation in a rapidly changing social environment. Methods To this end, it was intended to derive what entrepreneurship is found among young start-ups in their 20s in Busan and the complementary direction of start-up education that can be actively developed and realized. Results Therefore, from in-depth interviews with 8 young entrepreneurs in their 20s and 2 experts in Busan, in-terview contents related to ‘start-up and operation’, ‘theory and practice of entrepreneurship education’, and ‘complementary direction of entrepreneurship education’ of young entrepreneurs in their 20s were extracted and analyzed by coding the concepts in the form of statements. Conclusions (Startup and Operation) Most of the difficulties encountered in the early stages of entrepreneurship had something in common that occurred due to a lack of understanding of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and failure to prepare for the problems. (Theory and Practice of Entrepreneurship Education) There was a clear differ-ence in perception between entrepreneurship education that young entrepreneurs in their 20s think and en-trepreneurship education that takes place in the field. This gap of difference was revealed as a problem of current entrepreneurship education. (Complementary Direction of Entrepreneurship Education) The ultimate purpose of entrepreneurship education is to enable those who do not have foresight or sense to reduce risks based on a sense of social responsibility, and jump into business with the possibility of success.

Advancing Methods in Entrepreneurship Education Impact Research: The Benefits and Limitations of Register Data

With the increasing introduction of entrepreneurship education, supported by governments and policymakers, questions on their effect have occurred. Thus, several studies on their impact have also emerged over the years. However, many of these studies have issues related to control groups, students’ self-selection into the education, unclear objectives and vague descriptions of the education, or no contextual considerations in the studies’ design. In addition, although there have been many calls for studies investigating behavioural outcomes over a longer timeframe, few studies have answered the calls. As a continuous evaluation of graduates in many instances would be costly and time-consuming, not to mention the difficulty of obtaining a sufficient response rate over time, a potential source for evidence is register data, for instance, from public records. In this conceptual paper, I discuss the issues of the current evaluation practices of entrepreneurship education before the use of register data is introduced in consideration of long-term evaluation and common methodological issues. I present potential evaluation examples using register data on a particular program in entrepreneurship. The potential benefits and limitations of using such data are addressed, along with potential avenues for future research using register data in entrepreneurship education impact research.

Educators' conceptualization of entrepreneurship in Omani entrepreneurship education practice

The delivery of entrepreneurship education can present a challenge for educators unfamiliar with entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial process in practice. It is not uncommon for educators to be pushed toward teaching entrepreneurship, despite having limited or no personal experience of entrepreneurship. This is commonly the case in Oman, which has introduced mandatory entrepreneurship classes for all higher education students as a part of the Oman 2040 vision, which seeks to increase the level of entrepreneurship within the country. Arising from this, there is the potential for a disconnect between educators’ discourse and conceptualization of entrepreneurship in their teaching practice and the actual practice of entrepreneurship. This research explores how Omani educators conceptualize entrepreneurship in their delivery of entrepreneurship education, through 80 hours of ethnographic observation of two mandatory online entrepreneurship education classes in Oman, delivered during the COVID-19 pandemic. The findings highlight that the educators conceptualized entrepreneurship as the process of business creation, a central pillar of economic growth, a linear process, and as a career. These conceptualizations underpin a classical and narrow view of entrepreneurship. Identifying educators’ conceptualization and understanding of entrepreneurship within their teaching practice can highlight potential misalignment between entrepreneurship as it is taught, and how it is practiced.

Innovation and entrepreneurship education practice curriculum reform on college students with anxiety

Background Psychological construction has always been a key challenge in guiding innovation and entrepreneurship among college students. The reform of practical courses for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students aims to improve their recognition and satisfaction with innovation and entrepreneurship courses, thereby alleviating the impact of anxiety.Subjects and MethodsTaking senior college students as the research object, this study aims to involve them in the reform of practical courses for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students. A symptom self-evaluation scale was used to conduct a follow-up survey to explore the impact of the reform of practical courses for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students on their anxiety psychology.Results The reform of the innovation and entrepreneurship education practice course for college students has a positive impact on their anxiety psychology in all aspects, and there is a positive correlation between this course reform and alleviating their mental health. The anxiety rate of students participating in the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education practical courses for college students is only 6.3%, and the distribution trend of these students’ innovation ability scores is 5.79 ± 1.78. The anxiety level of students who did not participate was 55.4%.ConclusionsThrough the reform of practical courses for innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students, we guide them to actively start businesses, regulate tense emotions, alleviate psychological pressure, reduce anxiety factors, and alleviate anxiety symptoms, thereby achieving psychological balance and forming a stable psychological state.
