Abstract. As a matter of fact, in the emerging field of distributed generation, micro turbines (MT) are seen as having significant potential in power generation especially in recent years. In reality, it can provide flexibility as well as robustness for PV generation system with great performances. Therefore, with this in mind, this paper proposes a hybrid power system integrating MT into PV generation system. To be specific, this study investigates as well as discusses the operating principles of MT. On this basis, a coordinated PQ control strategy for the hybrid PVMT power generation system is proposed. At the same time, the inertia enhancement brought by the MT is analyzed validating the potential and feasibility of the proposed strategy. According to the analysis, the current limitations as well as future improvements are discussed in the meantime. Overall, these results shed light on guiding further exploration of MT integrating PV generation systems and pave a novel path for designs.
