Characterizations of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of Sasakian manifold

A warped product submanifold, whose tangent bundle can be decomposed to two orthogonal distributions; invariant and pointwise slant, is called a warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold. The objective of this paper is to classify warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds, isometrically immersed into a Sasakian manifold. Park [25] provided the (non)-existence of a warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold in a Sasakian manifold such that the structure vector field is tangential to fibers. In contrast, we provide intriguing theorems on warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds in a Sasakian manifold in terms of the shape operator and tensor fields such that the structure vector field is tangential to a base manifold and each fiber is a pointwise slant submanifold.

Warped Product Pointwise Semi-slant Submanifolds of Almost Contact Manifolds

B.-Y. Chen and O. J. Garay studied pointwise slant submanifolds of almost Hermitian manifolds. By using the notion of pointwise slant submanifolds, we investigate the geometry of pointwise semi-slant submanifolds and their warped products in Sasakian and cosymplectic manifolds. We prove that there exist no proper pointwise semi-slant warped product submanifold other than contact CR-warped products in Sasakian manifolds. We give non-trivial examples of such submanifolds in cosymplectic manifolds and obtain several fundamental results, including a characterization for warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds.

Impact of Semi-Symmetric Metric Connection on Homology of Warped Product Pointwise Semi-Slant Submanifolds of an Odd-Dimensional Sphere

Our paper explores warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds with a semi-symmetric metric connection in an odd-dimensional sphere and uncovers fundamental results. We also demonstrate how our findings can be applied to the homology of these submanifolds. Notably, we prove that under a specific condition, there are no stable currents for these submanifolds. This work adds valuable insights into the stability and behavior of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds and sets the foundation for further research in this field.

Inequalities for the Class of Warped Product Submanifold of Para-Cosymplectic Manifolds

The aim of this paper is to study the warped product pointwise semislant submanifolds in the para-cosymplectic manifold with the semi-Riemannian metric. For which, firstly we provide the more generalized definition of pointwise slant submanifolds and related characterization results followed by the definition of pointwise slant distributions and pointwise semislant submanifolds. We also derive some results for different foliations on distribution, and lastly, we defined pointwise semislant warped product submanifold, given existence and nonexistence results, basic lemmas, theorems, and optimal inequalities for the ambient manifold.

New Obstructions to Warped Product Immersions in Complex Space Forms

In this paper, we obtain a geometric inequality for warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of complex space forms endowed with a semi-symmetric metric connection and discuss the equality case of this inequality. We provide some applications concerning the minimality and compactness of such submanifolds.

Geometric Classification of Warped Products Isometrically Immersed into Conformal Sasakian Space Froms

Warped products play important roles in differential geometry, general relativity, and symmetry science. In this paper, we study the warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds that are isometrically immersed into conformal Sasakian space form. We show that there does not exist any proper warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds in conformal Sasakian manifolds. We derived some geometric inequalities for squared norm of second fundamental form from a warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold into a conformal Sasakian manifolds.

On the Topology of Warped Product Pointwise Semi-Slant Submanifolds with Positive Curvature

In this paper, we obtain some topological characterizations for the warping function of a warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold of the form Ωn=NTl×fNϕk in a complex projective space CP2m(4). Additionally, we will find certain restrictions on the warping function f, Dirichlet energy function E(f), and first non-zero eigenvalue λ1 to prove that stable l-currents do not exist and also that the homology groups have vanished in Ωn. As an application of the non-existence of the stable currents in Ωn, we show that the fundamental group π1(Ωn) is trivial and Ωn is simply connected under the same extrinsic conditions. Further, some similar conclusions are provided for CR-warped product submanifolds.

Warped Product Submanifolds in Locally Golden Riemannian Manifolds with a Slant Factor

In the present paper, we study some properties of warped product pointwise semi-slant and hemi-slant submanifolds in Golden Riemannian manifolds, and we construct examples in Euclidean spaces. Additionally, we study some properties of proper warped product pointwise semi-slant (and, respectively, hemi-slant) submanifolds in a locally Golden Riemannian manifold.

Some remarks on a family of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of Kaehler manifold

The purpose of this paper is to provide the complete classifications of the second fundamental form inequality for a warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold in a Kaehler manifold which was obtained by Şahin [Th. 5.2, Warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold of Kaehler manifold, Port. Math. 2013] in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic invariants. In this paper, we give some conditions that are not addressed or considered in the cited paper mentioned above. Finally, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions that satisfy inequalities' equalities.

Pointwise Slant and Pointwise Semi-Slant Submanifolds in Almost Contact Metric Manifolds

In almost contact metric manifolds, we consider two kinds of submanifolds: pointwise slant, pointwise semi-slant. On these submanifolds of cosymplectic, Sasakian and Kenmotsu manifolds, we obtain characterizations and study their topological properties and distributions. We also give their examples. In particular, we obtain some inequalities consisting of a second fundamental form, a warping function and a semi-slant function.

An inequality for the squared norm of the second fundamental form in terms of the warping function is established. The equality case of the inequality is considered.

Warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of cosymplectic space forms and their applications

In this paper some characterizations for the existence of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of cosymplectic space forms are obtained. Moreover, a sharp estimate for the squared norm of the second fundamental form is investigated, the equality case is also discussed. By the application of derived inequality, we compute an expression for Dirichlet energy of the involved warping function. Finally, we also proved some classifications for these warped product submanifolds in terms of Ricci solitons and Ricci curvature. A non-trivial example of these warped product submanifolds is provided.

Warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of the complex space forms

The pointwise semi-slant warped product submanifolds are the natural generalization of the semi-slant, slant, and CR-submanifolds. Recently, Sahin (Port Math, 2013. https://doi.org/10.4171/PM/1934) studied the warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of the Kaehler manifolds and proved the existence of the warped product of the types $$N_T\times _\psi N_\theta $$ with the warping function $$\psi $$, where $$N_T,$$$$N_\theta $$ are the holomorphic, pointwise slant submanifolds respectively and obtained some basic results. In this paper, the warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of the types $$N_T\times _\psi N_\theta $$ in the setting of the complex space forms are considered and some characterizing inequalities for the existence of these types of warped products are derived. Moreover, we obtain another inequality for the squared norm of second fundamental form in terms of the warping function and the slant function. This inequality generalizes the inequality that have obtained in Chen (Monatsh Math. 133:177–195, 2001).

Classification of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds in complex space forms

The main principle of this paper is to show that, a warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold of type Mn = Nn1 T xf Nn2? in a complex space form ?M2m (C) admitting shrinking or steady gradient Ricci soliton, whose potential function is a well-define warped function, is an Einstein warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold under extrinsic restrictions on the second fundamental form inequality attaining the equality in [4]. Moreover, under some geometric assumption, the connected and compactness with nonempty boundary are treated. In this case, we propose a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of Dirichlet energy function which show that a connected, compact warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold of complex space forms must be a Riemannian product. As more applications, for the first one, we prove that Mn is a trivial compact warped product, when the warping function exist the solution of PDE such as Euler-Lagrange equation. In the second one, by imposing boundary conditions, we derive a necessary and sufficient condition in terms of Ricci curvature, and prove that, a compact warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold Mn of a complex space form, is either a CR warped product or just a usual Riemannian product manifold. We also discuss some obstructions to these constructions in more details.

Geometry of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of cosymplectic manifolds and its applications

It is known from [K. Yano and M. Kon, Structures on Manifolds (World Scientific, 1984)] that the integration of the Laplacian of a smooth function defined on a compact orientable Riemannian manifold without boundary vanishes with respect to the volume element. In this paper, we find out the some potential applications of this notion, and study the concept of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds in cosymplectic manifolds as a generalization of contact CR-warped product submanifolds. Then, we prove the existence of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds by their characterizations, and give an example supporting to this idea. Further, we obtain an interesting inequality in terms of the second fundamental form and the scalar curvature using Gauss equation and then, derive some applications of it with considering the equality case. We provide many trivial results for the warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds in cosymplectic space forms in various mathematical and physical terms such as Hessian, Hamiltonian and kinetic energy, and generalize the triviality results for contact CR-warped products as well.

Geometry of warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of Kaehler manifolds

In this paper, we study warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifolds of a Kaehler manifold. First, we prove some characterizations results in terms of the tensor fields T and F and then, we obtain a geometric inequality for the second fundamental form in terms of intrinsic invariants. Furthermore, the equality case is also discussed. Moreover, we give some applications for Riemannian and compact Remannian submanifolds as well, i.e., we construct necessary and sufficient conditions for the non-existence of compact warped product pointwise semi-slant submanifold in complex space forms.

Pointwise almost h-semi-slant submanifolds

We introduce the notions of pointwise almost h-slant submanifolds and pointwise almost h-semi-slant submanifolds as a generalization of slant submanifolds, pointwise slant submanifolds, semi-slant submanifolds, and pointwise semi-slant submanifolds. We obtain a characterization and investigate the following: the integrability of distributions, the conditions for such distributions to be totally geodesic foliations, the properties of h-slant functions and h-semi-slant functions, the properties of nontrivial warped product proper pointwise h-semi-slant submanifolds. We also obtain the topological properties of proper pointwise almost h-slant submanifolds and give an inequality for the squared norm of the second fundamental form in terms of a warping function and a h-semi-slant function for a warped product submanifold of a hyperkähler manifold. Finally, we give some examples of such submanifolds.
