Modelling the determinants for sustainable smart city through interpretive structure modelling and analytic hierarchy process

Rapid increasing urbanization and resource scarcity are global phenomena nowadays, leading to the urban transformation of cities into smart cities. This article explores sustainability by using the lens of the spirit of place (SOP) for smart city development by proposing a model for the transformation of the cities into smart cities and attainment of the sustainable development simultaneously based on Interpretive Structure Modelling (ISM) and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This study followed a systematic approach by utilizing an analytical framework that included an extensive literature review and urban experts' opinions for the identification of a pool of indicators and its evaluation for validity, pilot testing, and administration of a questionnaire to a population sample. The study utilizes a sample of 142 participants who have witnessed the transformation of their city over the years. The research showed that every place has its own identity known to be the ‘spirit of place’ that helps in assessing the sustainable characteristics and utilizing that in the path of planning and development for the attainment of sustainable development. It also showed that urban developers should consider local populations’ views and important aspects in designing and planning development projects to achieve sustainable development with resilient infrastructure. This study will help facilitate sustainability at a local level for urban developers, planners, and decision-makers while crafting strategic plans.

Concept for enhanced intuition in development management through exploratory data analysis using an extended factor analysis of mixed data

AbstractWith the shift from mechanical value delivery to mechatronic value delivery, development environments are becoming more complex. Intuitive decision-making in development management is becoming increasingly challenging. Meanwhile, the use project management software is spreading, bringing about a new level of project data for development projects, holding to potential to enhance human decision making. To this end, the paper presents an extension to factor analysis of mixed data, which can facilitate usage of exploratory data analysis to improve decision-making in development project planning.

Landslide Susceptibility Analysis of Jugal Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchok

Hilly and mountainous areas of Nepal, with challenging terrain, young geology, and heavy monsoon rainfall, are susceptible to landslides and slope instability. To analyze and prepare landslide susceptibility maps, this study selects a typical hilly area, the Jugal Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchok district. Twelve factors contributing to landslides were considered, including slope, aspect, elevation, geology, land use, proximity to roads and drainage, plan curvature, profile curvature, NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), soil type and rainfall. Moreover, 286 landslides were identified using high-resolution satellite imagery and field verification as the landslide inventory. These landslides were then randomly divided into two sets: 70% for training and 30\% for validation. Bivariate statistical analysis was performed using factor maps and the landslide inventory map. Notably, the analysis revealed a Prediction Rate (PR) of 9.35 for 'Land use', the highest among all factors considered. Since land use is a dynamic factor, we recommend conducting an analysis of land use changes and their impact on landslide susceptibility. Such an assessment would be invaluable during the planning and execution phases of development projects in Nepal's disaster-prone regions.

Convergence of Noise, Climate, Air and Energy actions for an efficient planning: how to act on urban and architectural forms?

While the nature of road traffic and weather conditions remain the main determinants of air pollution and noise in cities, urban design and architectural forms are parameters that planners can play with to combine protection against noise, adaptation to climate change, air quality and energy management. But optimizing urban and architectural forms is not an easy task, because multiple factors are at work, particularly three-dimensional ones, which are sometimes contradictory. Orientation and height of buildings, continuity (or discontinuity) of the built front, layout and distance of buildings from the source of nuisance, urban vegetation, internal design of housing and architectural details, are all levers that can be used to reduce the impacts on the resident population. In order to establish a hierarchy between the different problems, we propose a structuring method to help objectify the priorities. It consists, for each of these influential parameters, in making an inventory of the potential gains and the points of vigilance with regard to noise, air pollution, urban overheating and energy savings and sufficiency. A number of French cities, including the city of Bordeaux, have experimented this approach to plan development projects for highly environmentally ambitious neighborhoods.

A calculator for local peatland volume and carbon stock to support area planners and decision makers

Conserving soil carbon is one of many actions to take in limiting global warming. However, carbon dense peatlands are still being drained or excavated. Infrastructure development is one of the major current threats to boral peatlands in Fennoscandia, but few tools are available for calculations of carbon stocks in peatland areas, necessary for decision makers planning development projects. Thus, we compiled a reference database of key peat characteristics from main boreal peatland types sampled in Norway and tested “best practice” peat depth sampling methods and peat volume interpolations. We implemented our findings in CarbonViewer, a tool and easy-to-use app that reliably calculates carbon stocks of delimited peatlands. Tool and method presented, estimates carbon stocks to assess potential soil carbon loss in planned infrastructure development on peatlands and will give decision makers the necessary knowledge base to limit emissions from soil carbon.

The research focuses on evaluating the project time planning to know exactly when the project will be completed, the estimated budget to be spent, using the CPM and PERT methods to carry out an analysis of the SDS X Development Project Planning Evaluation. The results are with the CPM and PERT methods, the project's critical path is found in activities A – D – E – F – G – H – I – L – M – N with a project completion time using the CPM method is 52 days, while for the PERT method the project completion time is 54 days with a great chance of completing project work of 99, 94%. As for the results of the evaluation of cost planning using the crashing project method, it was found that there was an increase in costs of Rp. 6,902,000. So that the normal cost of a development project which is IDR 372,126.00 becomes IDR 379,028,000

From “Putting the Last First” to “Working with People” in Rural Development Planning: A Bibliometric Analysis of 50 Years of Research

The contribution of academics and researchers to the discussion around sustainable rural development planning and its impact on rural communities has grown exponentially in recent years. Understanding trends in sustainable rural development research requires considering the different factors involved and affecting people from a holistic approach. This review examines, through bibliometric studies, the scientific knowledge generated on sustainable rural development planning in the last 50 years, analysing 6895 articles published in journals between 1970 and 2020. The results reveal the existence of three clusters, and important growth is observed to respond to the continuous needs in relation to sustainable rural development. This research shows the evolution of a new approach for the planning of sustainable rural development projects in postmodernity: Working with People (WWP). This WWP model, as a conceptual framework from social learning, has been validated as a novel proposal in numerous contexts. The bibliometric analysis shows an evolution in “From Putting the Last First” to “Working with People in Rural Development” research and the contributions of influential teachers, such as Chambers and Cernea. These bibliometric analyses demonstrate the correct approach of the WWP model and open new fields of research in the planning of sustainable rural development projects.

Towards data-driven project design: Providing optimal treatment rules for development projects

It is increasingly commonplace among development practitioners to employ impact evaluations to measure the performance and effectiveness of their activities and investments. However, there remains a substantial gap between the evidence generated by these assessments and its use for prospective planning and design of future development projects. Specifically, the retrospective data generated in counterfactual-based evaluations on what worked, how, and for whom, is not routinely or easily applied by policymakers for decision-making after an evaluation's closure. We address this gap through the development of an optimal policy learning (OPL) tool for rural development projects that leverages observational data to drive data-driven project design through identification of welfare-maximizing targeting and selection rules that can maximize project impacts. In so doing, we solve the policymaker's policy assignment problem, i.e. deciding who to treat and where. Further, we define distinct roles for the policymaker and the analyst in which the latter is tasked with generating a menu of potential selection rules while the former weighs each rule's costs and benefits against their objective function, addressing the practical constraints poised by optimal policy learning's use for project design. To illustrate the utility of our approach we apply OPL to two projects funded and evaluated by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). We show that OPL and this division of labor not only identifies the welfare-maximizing policy assignment but also allows policymakers to gain deeper insights into the trade-offs, costs, and benefits of different objectives, policies, and demands facilitating more informed decision-making and more effective policies and development interventions.

Spatial Reflections on Muslims’ Segregation in Britain

The diversity of multicultural, multi-religious, and multi-ethnic groups and communities within Britain has created cohesion and integration challenges for different community groups and authorities to adapt to the current diverse society. More recently, there has been an increased focus on Muslim segregation in Britain in official reports and reviews. Those documents mentioned the Muslims’ segregation (directly or indirectly) for various reasons, and some recommendations have aimed to improve “community cohesion” in general and Muslims’ “integration” in particular. However, community participation in the design or planning of regeneration and development projects has yet to be focused on, although these documents recommended promoting community cohesion and integration through these projects. Community participation in architecture—in its broader sense—is a crucial aspect that contributes towards fulfilling the tasks of serving communities with different religious and ethnic backgrounds. Muslims’ religious and cultural practices have been problematised in urban spaces and perceived as leading to social and spatial segregation. This paper intends to explore how secular urban spaces are used and perceived by Muslims through their religious and cultural practices. Therefore, the article aspires to inform the community participation in urban projects and demonstrates the role that Muslims’ inclusion in designing urban projects has in promoting cohesion and integration. The Ellesmere Green project in Burngreave, Sheffield, UK, is an empirical example of exploring this locally through semi-structured interviews with community members, leaders, and local authorities’ officials. The findings demonstrate that sacred and secular spaces are interconnected in Muslims’ everyday lives, and the boundaries between them are blurry. The data also show that having the ability to manifest their religious and cultural practices in secular urban spaces does not suggest the desire for segregation, nor does it reduce Muslims’ willingness to have social and spatial interactions with non-Muslims.

Assessment of the Impacts of Proposed Water Resources Development Projects in Baro-Akobo-Sobat Basin on Nile Inflows at High Aswan Dam

Study focusThe Baro-Akobo-Sobat (BAS) is one of the four sub-basins in the Eastern Nile Basin (ENB). The Machar Marshes swamp, a wetland in the BAS basin, has significant water losses, which have an impact on the BAS's regional hydrology. Future development initiatives, such as irrigated agriculture and hydropower, are expected to concentrate on the BAS. These initiatives will make a huge contribution to the BAS development, but they may also have a negative impact on the flow of the Nile into downstream countries, which is assessed in this paper. New hydrological insights for the regionThe HEC Reservoir Simulation Model (HEC-ResSim) and the Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model are coupled offline. The BAS modelling system was used to produce the baseline scenario (no anticipated planned development projects) and three additional scenarios (hydropower scenario, irrigation scenario, and integrated scenario between hydropower and irrigation). According to the results, the hydropower scenario increased the flow arriving at Aswan by an average of 1.3 km3/year by reducing losses in marshes due to the controlled flow pattern. The irrigation scenario decreased the flow arriving at Aswan by an average of 4.4 km3/year. The combined hydropower and irrigation development scenario decreased the flow arriving at Aswan by an average of 3.6 km3/year.

Light pollution impact assessment in Hong Kong: Multi-dimensional measurement and spatial numerical modelling on integrated light sources in the neighbourhood level

Light pollution in recent years has drawn surging public concerns in Hong Kong. The improper management of the light sources causes pollution, particularly light trespass on the community level, which obstructs the residents. Yet more studies are expected to quantitatively and systematically assess the severity of the artificial light trespass problem, and to offer practical solutions for mitigation and urban management. This study was conducted on a typical high-density, mixed-use neighbourhood in Tsim Sha Tsui district. The study consists of on-site measurement and model simulation. Three illuminance measurements were conducted to evaluate the impact of light pollution on the streets and light trespass on the nearby buildings. It was found that the impacts on the buildings (mean illuminance of 3 lx) are less significant than on the streets (mean illuminance of 188 lx) for the target study area. Indoor measurement at various height levels showed a mean illuminance level of 0.6 lx, which is much lower than the international limit of 25 lx. Meanwhile, the modelling work, consisting of correlation, verification and regression analysis, was carried to bridge luminous flux from light sources and illuminance received at the target. A three-dimensional (3D) model was developed to mimic the actual situation and was used to identify the primary light sources causing impacts. While a growing number of research is found on measuring and modelling the intricate light pollution in such a micro scale that elevates explicitly the importance of extrapolating the light pollution effect vertically from street level to building level, direct simulation is still lacking. This study also refined and summarised the research methodology to serve as a feasible and organised protocol for setting up the measurement and modelling work. This can be adapted in future assessments on light trespass issues under similar circumstances elsewhere, like scientific research, urban planning, or property development projects.

The article discusses the essence of the category of «stakeholder» and the development of approaches to determining the influence of stakeholders on the implementation of regional development projects. The process of organizing regional development with the involvement of stakeholders, the development of the interpretation of the category of «stakeholder» and their role, as well as approaches to determining the degree of their influence on the implementation of regional development projects are analyzed. It is defined that regional development projects have separate characteristics that vary depending on their directedness, direction, implementation period and level, and are designed to address a number of issues related to the development of a particular territory. It is defined that stakeholders are a dynamic category and, according to their role in the process of implementing regional development projects, can change over time or depending on various factors. According to the role and interests of stakeholders in the processes of formation, planning and implementation of development projects, they can be divided into separate groups, namely: local, economic, social, environmental, and international groups. Each individual group of regional development stakeholders performs a certain unique function in the process of implementing regional development projects, which is aimed at their implementation and achievement of the set goals, as well as the realization of the stakeholders’ own interests. Taking into account the specifics of different groups of stakeholders, a scheme of roles of specific groups of stakeholders in the context of regional development was built, which in the future will allow to provide a more open and comprehensive approach to planning and implementing regional development projects. The influence of stakeholders on the process of implementing a regional development project is constantly changing and is measured by three main attributes, namely: power, interest, and dynamics. The role of stakeholders in the regional development process is to ensure a broader and more diverse approach to the planning and implementation of regional development projects. This is an important aspect, as taking into account the different voices, proposals and needs of stakeholders contributes to the successful achievement of the set goal. Thus, it will allow adapting the entire process of implementing regional development projects in accordance with new circumstances and challenges, which will contribute to the achievement of the goal.

Sustainable development of historical areas: study of one of the global experiences

This research included some concepts of historical areas that were exposed to the concepts of sustainable development to deal with historical areas, to derive from them the benefit that we are trying to apply to historical areas in our Iraqi cities. By reviewing the concepts of sustainable development in the field of historical areas, we find alternative solutions or policies that have already been applied, and they aim to develop historical areas, especially those located in city centres and also aim to achieve various concepts of urban and environmental development in these areas (such as preservation, restoration and rehabilitation). This is in addition to realizing the concepts of economic and social development (such as Al-Aziz, social cohesion, economic growth, and others). Accordingly, the research problem is the lack of knowledge regarding the application of the concepts of sustainability in projects and programs for historical areas locally. While the hypothesis was that sustainable development provides the basic capabilities to solve projects and programs for historical areas that have been exposed to the concepts of sustainability to deal with them for some experiences through which we can benefit and try to apply them in our cities and line with the Iraqi nature. The research aims to review some of the Arab and international experiences of dealing with historical areas in light of the concepts of sustainability. The methodology was following the functional, analytical approach to know the most important indicators related to reaching the objectives of the research. The research found that the best mechanisms or policies in dealing with historical areas are those that deal with the concepts of urban sustainability. It was found through sustainable global experiences that the most important results are the general planning of sustainable development projects, the financing needed to complete sustainable projects, the role of popular participation in this project, institutional thought factors to complete sustainable environmental projects, technical and urban factors necessary for these projects, and the most important tools used in the research is a descriptive analysis by analysing the results of sustainable global experiences.

The Kabul River Basin - the source of the Naglu and other reservoirs

The article is devoted to the assessment and study of the Kabul river basin fed by 7 existing (Jabal-Saraj, Karga, Mahipar, Naglu, Sarubi, and Darunta) and numerous planned (including Gulbahor, Baghdara, Sarubi II, Kunar I, Kunar II, Shatut) reservoirs. The article discusses the Kabul basin's annual precipitation, land cover, and runoff. In addition, it sheds light on soil erosion and the concentration of river and reservoir sedimentation in the Kabul River Basin. Recommendations are also given for solving the problem of soil erosion and the siltation of reservoirs. There is very little data on the Kabul River and its basin due to the lack of detailed hydrological data. Most of the hydrological and meteorological posts did not function or were destroyed during the crisis in the country for about two decades, which led to little or no information on the river's hydrology during this period. Because of this problem, many organizations working in basin water management and designing new hydraulic structures face difficulties in properly planning and designing new hydraulic structures and reservoirs. As a result, most researchers, planners, and designers use old data with a limited observation period, which is insufficient for adequate design and planning of hydraulic structures and other basin development projects. Due to four decades of unrest in the country, the watersheds of the Kabul Basin have been used without any rules or management, resulting in land degradation and watershed erosion. Three main problems, namely overgrazing in rangelands, rain-fed fields, and deforestation, have caused land degradation in the basin. In addition, the situation has been aggravated by the cutting of bushes for fuel in hilly and semi-hilly areas. The basin is overpopulated, and there are many industries in the major cities of the basin, which contributes to water pollution in the Kabul river. Despite water availability, due to a lack of proper planning, the major cities in the basin cannot use the basin's water for domestic needs. In cities like Kabul and Jalalabad, people mainly use groundwater, resulting in the continuous sinking of the groundwater level. For the proper management and development of the Kabul river basin, much work needs to be done, which may yield promising results for developing the country's economy and improving the environment in the Kabul basin region.

Abstract B065: First year results of a cancer disparities curriculum to address mistrust and misunderstanding between basic science researchers and community members

Abstract In Black, Hispanic, and Native American communities, historical and current systemic inequities result in medical mistrust limiting participation in biomedical studies. At the same time, many researchers misunderstand the context of communities experiencing the highest disparities, which may produce incomplete or inapplicable research questions. These conditions constrain the development of new and relevant biomedical research questions and hampers understanding of biological, clinical, and social factors holding disparities in place. With the goal of reducing misunderstanding and mistrust between researchers and community members, a team led by a senior basic science researcher at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and a retired community college faculty member launched a pilot 9-month bi-weekly Cancer Disparities Curriculum for Research and Community Scholars in Fall 2021. This curriculum is a project of the Community and Cancer Science Network (CCSN) which promotes transdisciplinary collaboration with equitable engagement of non-academic audiences as full partners and emphasizing co-learning and co-developing of solutions. Designed for early career basic scientists (“research scholars”) and Milwaukee community members (“community scholars”), the curriculum included topics such as cancer disparities, social determinants of health, bias, racism, communicating with different audiences, and bridging diverse perspectives. Respected experts from the Milwaukee community and MCW facilitated the sessions. Additionally, dyad pairs of one research and one community scholar worked throughout the 9-months to develop project plans to address cancer disparities incorporating both perspectives. At the end of the program, the scholars presented these plans to MCW faculty and staff, and community leaders and members. To assess the impact of the curriculum and to continuously improve its delivery, the team used quantitative and qualitative methods of data collection throughout the pilot curriculum. These methods included attendance data, scholar surveys, facilitator surveys, and observations and debriefs of each session, all of which have informed adjustments to the curriculum. Following the conclusion of the first cohort in May 2022, the evaluation team began its preliminary review and found that scholars reported an increase in understanding of the scientific, environmental, and social factors that influence cancer disparities but wanted to have more opportunities to connect learning to action. Research Scholars specifically reported that engagement with community led them to begin to think differently about their work. To fully address cancer disparities, biomedical researchers and community members must collectively address issues of mistrust and misunderstanding. This can be achieved by increased understanding and empathy, shared vocabulary, and opportunities to explore different ways to partner. Industry 4.0 technologies as enablers of sustainability risk management

Motivation: Companies operate in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) business environment, as evidenced by massive collapses in commodity prices, acts of terrorism, cyber security threats, natural disasters, technological failures, and pandemics. Numerous reports indicate that the top risks with the highest probability of occurrence in the next decade include extreme weather events, failure of climate protection measures, and man-made environmental damage (The Global Risk Report 2021 of the World Economic Forum, The World Business Council for Sustainable Development report and many others). The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) cover the above challenges and define the agenda for solving them to 2030. The intensification of environmental and social risks reinforces the need to deepen research and explore new ways of managing sustainability risks (SRs). At the same time, businesses are undergoing the technology transformation (Industry 4.0) accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. It became necessary to shift some investment to this business area, which also needs to be supported by additional capital. The technology-driven transformation can significantly support companies in managing SRs. Aim: The aim of the study is to diagnose the importance of investments in Industry 4.0 technologies (T4.0) as potential enablers supporting sustainability risk management from the perspective of supply chains. Results: SRs represent one of the critical risk areas of the 21st century. Despite the well-recognized potential of the T4.0 implementation for sustainable supply chain management, the research studies concentrated on their potential role within SR management in international supply chains are limited and fragmented. The diagnosis of the growing importance of T4.0 supporting risk management at strategic and operational levels of business activities implies the recommendation to integrate their use in this area into the technological transformation, and then consistently into planning and financing of development and implementation projects. Companies may attempt to address these challenges through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

TOURISM POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION IN THE EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE, SOUTH AFRICA: DOES LOCAL STAKEHOLDER INVOLVEMENT COUNT?

Municipalities are at the lowest level of Government, and it is where the actual implementation of tourism policies takes place. District municipalities and communities globally often face poorly planned development projects resulting from inefficient and ineffective policy and planning implementation. One of the reasons for this is that there is, at times, a lack of participation by key stakeholders. The success of tourism development policies and their implementation rests on the involvement of all relevant stakeholders. This study adopted a qualitative research approach whereby purposive and snowball sampling methods were used to identify the research sample from the research population. The research population included the district municipality staff, regional and local tourism organisations, also known as tourism forums, tourism development agencies, and the rural planning and economic development departments. Consequently, fourteen (14) semi-structured interviews were conducted with key stakeholders from the district municipality, local municipalities, tourism organisations and Eastern Cape Parks Tourism Agency. A thematic analysis technique was used to analyse the data. This study focused on stakeholder involvement in the development and implementation of tourism policies in the O.R Tambo District Municipality (ORTDM). The key findings from the study revealed that there is a lack of stakeholder collaboration in development and the implementation of tourism-related policies in ORTDM.

Analysis of the Use of the Implementation Tool of Development Projects in the Czech Armed Forces

The article describes the reasons that led to the development of the implementation tool for development projects used by the Czech Ministry of Defence to simplify the planning processes and the experience of its users with the tool. Modernization of the army is one of the basic building blocks needed to achieve the goals set by the state's security strategies. A comprehensive approach is necessary to perform many consecutive activities, such as project management, risk management, and others. To streamline the processes needed for the preparation and planning of development projects, the Czech Armed Forces issued a methodology to create an implementation plan for the acquisition of new military equipment in 2021. The purpose of this article is to present the results of the analysis of experience with its annual use in practice.

Assessment of Fault Sealing in the Gabo Field, Niger Delta, Nigeria

This research assesses the sealing of the fault bounded stratigraphy of the Gabo Field, Niger Delta, Nigeria. Materials used comprises of 3D seismic volume in seg-y, ditch cuttings and well logs. The methods applied are standard fault plane evaluation techniques and they include seismic interpretation, well correlation, XRD analysis, and application of the Yielding et al., (1997) shale gouge ratio (SGR) algorithm for fault seal analysis. The tectonic framework was interpreted in terms of deformational, depositional and post-depositional structures. The order of magnitude of stress is SHmax > σv > Shmin. The juxtaposed strata relationships were analyzed by taking cross sections A-A1 and B-B1 and this showed the structural framework across the field. Cross section A-A1 showed that the depositional and post depositional structures are pinchouts (channel abandonment or switching) and shale smears respectively. The cross section B-B1, showed that the deformational structures are faults F1 and F2 – recognized as closely spaced normal faults and F3 is a syn-depoitional growth fault. The well correlation showed the vertical stratigraphy of the wells are comprised of cyclic succession of sands and shales and the shale thickness increased in intermediate sections. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of the shales showed that the predominant minerals are kaolinite, rutile, gypsum, albite, microcline and quartz. The rock property analysis showed that the net to gross ranges from 26.28 – 82.0% with an average of 73.7%. The volume of shale ranges from 18 – 73.72% with an average of 63.59%. The bulk density of the shales ranges from 2.379 – 2.692g/cc with an average of 2.46g/cc. The total porosity ranges from 0.159 – 0.317 with an average of 0.167 in the shales and 0.272 in the sand. The effective porosity range from 3.58 – 22.71 with an average of 6.028 in the shale and 20.13 in the reservoir. The drawdown mobility and temperature range is 2.2 – 4124.4mD/cP and 63.3 – 80.1oF respectively, while the average is 569mD/cP and 70.63oF respectively. The estimated pore pressure ranges from 0.4213 – 0.4762psi/ft with an average of 0.47psi/ft in the shales and 0.428 psi/ft in the sand. The fault seal analysis showed that the shale gouge ratio range from 0.2 – 0.7 and the stratigraphic juxtapositions are predominantly sand to sand, sand to shale and shale to shale. The results of this research reduces the fault seal uncertainty in the planning of oilfield development projects and enhanced pressure support for the recovery of bypassed hydrocarbons, most especially in compartmentalized reservoirs. In addition, the results of this research can be applied to similar deltaic successions around the world.
