Analysis of Mathematical Literacy Ability Given Students' Mathematical Disposition

The results of the Mathematical Literacy Research discuss Indonesia's involvement in PISA since 2000, which has never experienced a significant increase in ranking until 2018. Even the 2018 PISA results showed that Indonesia was ranked in the bottom 10 in the world with an average score of Indonesian students mathematical literacy of 359, while the average was 489. This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy skills of grade X students in solving PISA questions in terms of mathematical disposition abilities. This study uses a descriptive type of research with a qualitative approach with three instruments to be used in this study, namely a mathematical disposition scale questionnaire, a mathematical literacy test, and interview guidelines. The research instrument was first consulted with the collaborating lecturer. The results of the disposition test from 33 grade X.1 students were then analyzed to determine the grouping of students' mathematical disposition abilities. The mathematical disposition scale is given to students in three groups: high, medium, and low. The subjects of this study were four students in the class with different levels of mathematical disposition abilities. Based on the results of this study, the literacy abilities of students reviewed in mathematical disposition tend to vary. Students with a high level of disposition have better literacy and problem-solving skills than those with a medium or low level of disposition

Analysis Of Students' Mathematical Literacy Ability In Solving Pisa-Oriented Questions Content Change And Relationship Judging From Self-Efficacy

Study This aims to analyze the connections between the ability of literacy mathematical students to finish questions on PISA Change and relationships, which are oriented on content and levels of efficiency. Study This uses design study descriptive qualitative. The sample for this research consisted of three class VIII B students at SMPN 3 Colomadu, Karanganyar Regency. The three subjects were selected based on the results of responses to the questionnaire and PISA questions, taking into account their level of self-efficacy, which was divided into low, medium, and high. The research instrument consisted of a questionnaire regarding student self-efficacy and PISA questions related to Change and Relationship content. After analyzing the questionnaire and students' answers, they interviewed the three subjects. The research results show that students' mathematical literacy skills in solving questions oriented towards changes in PISA content and their interrelationships require improvement. The level of students' self-efficacy in solving mathematics literacy problems is classified as moderate, and there is a significant positive relationship between mathematics literacy abilities and students' self-efficacy.

Students' Proportional Reasoning in Solving PISA Problems on Quantity Content: An Analysis from the Perspective of Mathematical Self-Efficacy

One of the abilities that students need to develop is proportional thinking. Mathematical problems and real-world situations involving the connection between numbers and comparisons need students to use their reasoning skills to reach conclusions. The purpose of this study is to characterize, in terms of self-efficacy, students' proportional reasoning skills when addressing quantity content PISA questions. The self-efficacy questionnaire, PISA questions on quantitative content, interview instructions, and documentation are among the instruments used in this descriptive qualitative study. The study's findings demonstrate that students with low self-efficacy struggle to meet proportional reasoning requirements, contemplate difficulties, and give up quickly out of fear of failing, Pupils rely on guesswork to solve issues instead than attempting to come up with novel solutions. Students with moderate self-efficacy can identify proportional quantities in problems and understand them, but they are not yet able to convert quantities into other forms. They can also use the appropriate strategy but are still hesitant and make mistakes when calculating. Students with moderate self-efficacy are eager to work on problems, but they give up easily when faced with challenging ones. However, despite their continued self-doubt, students continue to look for answers. Despite their restricted talents, students who possess strong self-efficacy are able to meet proportional reasoning markers. Students who have high self efficacy tend to have motivation, high enthusiasm and have confidence in their abilities, students will try to find new ideas to solve problems.

ANALYSIS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS’ LITERACY USING THE PISA FRAMEWORK

The aim of this research is to describe the literacy profiles, including science literacy, mathematical literacy, and reading literacy, among 9th-grade junior high school students and 10th-grade high school students. This study utilizes a descriptive method involving 104 respondents, with data collected through literacy tests based on PISA questions. The results of the research indicate that the average score for overall student literacy achievement is 56.2%. The average score for science literacy is 46.4%, for mathematical literacy is 40.6%, and for reading literacy is 67.9%. The students' science and mathematical literacy abilities are categorized as moderate, while their reading literacy ability is categorized as high. Based on the data obtained, students' overall literacy achievement in science, mathematics, and language is still within the moderate category. The low literacy abilities are caused by students' difficulty in interpreting graphs and tables in science literacy, as well as students' struggles with formulation skills in mathematical literacy. In reading literacy, students lack the ability to read and explore reading materials. Another factor is that students are not accustomed to working on literacy test questions, and evaluation tools have not led to literacy development.

The Effect of Student Adversity Quotient on Mathematics Test Scores Using PISA Questions

This research aimed to determine the effect of student adversity quotient (AQ) on mathematic test scores of 12th-grade students in Pademawu High School, Pamekasan for geometry material. The questions used in the mathematic tests were PISA questions. The type of research was quasi-experimental research applying a quantitative method, and the populations selected were all students of class XII MIPA, as many as 115 people. By using a purposive sampling technique, the sample members were 90 people. Data was collected using questionnaires and tests. The questionnaire used contained 30 daily events, where each event had 2 questions. The math test contained 2 geometry questions. Furthermore, data collected was analysed using descriptive statistical and simple linear regression analysis. It was obtained that the regression model Y=24,328+0,373X with Y was math test scores and X was AQ scores. From the model, the result showed that there was a significant positive interaction of AQ on the results of mathematic tests at 12th-grade students in Pademawu High School.

Soal Matematika Model Programme For International Student Assesment (PISA) Pada Pembelajaran Matematika Sekolah Menengah

Abstrak Pisa (Programme For International Student Assessment) Is one of the things that is set as an indicator of current learning success. Many studies to discuss PISA have been carried out in Indonesia so that various literatures are needed. This research methodology uses a liberature review system (SLR) where as a library that contains studies, evaluations of all research related to PISA. This study retrieves data via Google with the PISA syntax, PISA Questions, PISA Mathematics whit a range of 2018-2022 taking 35 articles to be studied and analysed.

Mathematical Literacy of Junior High School Students in Solving Problems PISA Content Quantity

<p style="text-align: justify;">Mathematical literacy is defined as students’ capacity to formulate, employ and interpret mathematics in a variety of contexts. It includes reasoning mathematically and using mathematical concepts, procedures, facts and tools to describe, explain and predict phenomena. It assists individuals in recognising the role that mathematics plays in the world and to make the well-founded judgements and decisions needed by constructive, engaged and reflective citizens. Quantity content includes the ability in reasoning quantitatively, representing something into numbers, understanding mathematical steps, counting by heart and making assessments. The questions on quantity content are mostly implemented in everyday life, such as in exchanging currency exchange rates, determining bank interest, shopping, calculating taxes, measuring time, measuring distance and others. The purpose of this article is to describe the level of mathematical literacy ability of junior high school students in solving Quantity content PISA questions. The data from this study were taken from the results of the PISA test questions on quantity content and interviews. Subject taking is based on the test results of students who have the highest scores, as it is expected to get the results of the analysis of students’ high literacy skills. In this research, the researcher is using indicators of mathematical literacy level according to PISA. Based on the results of research and discussion, it is concluded that there are students who have high mathematical literacy skills equivalent to level 5.</p>

Strenghthening Numeracy Literacy and Critical Thinking Mathematics Students at SMK Ma’arif NU Martapura

Students' lack of ability to answer questions that do not match the examples is the background for carrying out community service activities in addition to students' lack of motivation in learning. Students' fixation on examples causes students to have difficulty when given questions that are slightly different. There are several causes of students' difficulties in answering questions based on the results of analysis with the teacher, namely students' critical thinking abilities and students' numeracy literacy. These two abilities are the basis for students to solve problems using the information provided from the questions and concepts they have studied. This community service activity is carried out with the aim of providing stimulus to students to strengthen students' critical thinking and numeracy literacy skills. The stimulus is provided in the form of simple and non-routine questions using Pisa questions and questions related to third-dimensional material in the form of essays. Apart from that, it is also interspersed with math games to motivate students to learn.This activity was carried out at SMK Ma'arif NU Martapura.The results of the service show that there are five indicators of critical thinking skills and three indicators of numeracy literacy that are met. Apart from that, students also begin to have the courage to speak and show a positive attitude in learning. This can be a recommendation for teachers to provide more stimulus for non-routine questions so that students' critical thinking skills and numeracy literacy are further honed.

Analisis Kemampuan Literasi Sains Peserta Didik SMA Kelas X IPA di Kota Makassar dalam Menyelesaikan Soal PISA

One of the skills that is important for students to have in the 21st century is scientific literacy. However, the scientific literacy scores of Indonesian students are still far below international standard scores. This study was to determine the scientific literacy skills of class X IPA high school students in Makassar City in solving PISA questions. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The population includes all students of class X IPA in Makassar City. A sample of 254 people from SMA Negeri 6 Makassar, SMA Negeri 21 Makassar, SMA Negeri 5 Makassar, SMA Negeri 9 Makassar, SMA Negeri 16 Makassar, SMA Negeri 4 Makassar, SMA Negeri 20 Makassar, and SMA Negeri 14 Makassar. The technique of determining the sample by cluster random sampling and simple random sampling. The data collection technique is in the form of multiple-choice questions of 25 numbers. The results of the data analysis showed that the percentage of students' scientific literacy skills was in the moderate category of 50% for 127 people. Furthermore, 12.2% in the high category were 31 people, 5.91% in the very high category were 15 people, 31.89% in the low category were 81 people, and 0% in the very low category were 0 people. The highest average score of scientific literacy skills from the three aspects of scientific literacy competence is found in the item evaluating and designing scientific questions, namely 33.92 in the moderate category.

Didactical Analysis of Mathematical Literacy Skills to Identify Learning Obstacles on Space and Shape Content

Mathematical literacy can be defined as the ability to understand and use mathematics in various contexts to solve problems, geometry is a lesson that can still make students experience learning obstacles or called learning obstacles. The purpose of the study was to identify learning obstacles and didactically analyze students' mathematical literacy on space and shape content. This research uses a qualitative method, incorporating the dedactical design model (Didactical Design Research). The qualitative method consists of interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The instruments used were interview guidelines and observation guidelines. Meanwhile, the dedactical design consists of: 1) prospective analysis (before learning) 2) metapedactic analysis and 3) retrospective analysis (combined results of prospective and metapedactic analysis). The research subjects were 6 students who were selected by purposive sampling. Based on the dedactical design, the researcher only reached the prospective stage. Based on the results of research on students' mathematical literacy skills in solving PISA questions on space and shape content, namely on the three subjects showing different results. Based on the written test results, AD and AL subjects have high mathematical literacy skills. then JU subjects have moderate literacy skills. And subjects NF, RI and MA have low mathematical literacy skills. So that from these three subjects it can be said that the students' mathematical literacy skills are still low. Efforts that can be made based on learning obstacles are that students are guided and familiarized when given problems to solve by starting to write what is known and what is asked in the given problem, linking to real-world concepts, expressing arguments in solving problems, developing strategies, using symbols, mathematical tools, and making conclusions of mathematical solutions.

Pengembangan Soal Matematika Mode PISA Konten Statistika Untuk Melatih Kemampuan Literasi Statistik Siswa di SMP

The purpose of this study was to determine the development and results of the development of mathematical problems of the Pisa model of statistical content to train students' statistical literacy at SMP Negeri 5 Kupang. The research method used is the research and development method. This research uses a four-D development model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. Validation of the PISA question trial resulted in 5 questions tested being declared valid. Reliability is generally stated to be reliable, with a test probability score of 0.62 with high interpretation, the distinguishing power produces 3 questions with sufficient criteria (1, 2 and 5), 1 question with good criteria (4) and 1 question with bad criteria (5) while the difficulty level of the questions produces 1 question with easy criteria (1), 3 questions with medium criteria (2, 3 and 4) and 1 question with difficult criteria. Overall it has been declared good. The difficulty level of PISA model math problems can be seen from the difficulty index of each question item. In accordance with the quality criteria of the test questions, it is known that the 5 questions are worthy of being tested on the field test. The results of the Field Test trial were obtained from 30 students, there were 24 students who had statistical literacy skills with very good categories, 5 students had statistical literacy skills with good categories, and 1 student had statistical literacy skills with sufficient categories so that they had an average of 84,666 with very good categories.

ANALYSIS OF STUDENT NUMERACY LITERACY IN SOLVING PISA QUESTIONS

This study aims to describe the process of student numeracy literacy in solving PISA questions. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects in the study were two people from 34 students of 9th grade B MTs N Ambon as participants, with data acquisition including observations, interviews, and numeracy literacy ability tests from PISA questions. Data analysis techniques use data classification, data reduction, data presentation, data interpretation, and conclusions. The results of this study show that: 1) both students have the ability of the main competencies in numeracy literacy, namely capable; of communicating problems, making mathematical models, making representations, arguing and giving appropriate reasons in accountability for their work, making good and correct solving strategies, use formal language, symbol language and technical language and use mathematical tools to facilitate their work. 2) There are differences in the solution of the two students, namely in solving problem number one, there are students who make mathematical modeling with the basic formula of comparison and there are students who make mathematical modeling with the opposite of the basic formula of comparison, namely multiplication.

ANALISIS PROSES PEMECAHAN MASALAH PESERTA DIDIK DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL BERORIENTASI PISA

Based on the results of PISA data since 2000 in the last 7 periods, Indonesia is still ranked low, while if you refer to the objectives of education to produce students who have the ability to think critically, and reason so that they have the ability of Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). So it is hoped that students can often practice working on PISA-oriented questions, resulting in an increase in the level of Indonesian students to a higher level. The purpose of this study was to describe the problem-solving process of students in solving PISA-oriented problems. The subjects used in this study were three VIII-grade students at MTs Algebra Sorong, with qualitative methods. The research approach used descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques using test results and interviews. The results of this study are at the stage of understanding the problem, students often fail to understand because they are in a hurry or because of the rarity of PISA questions used for problem practice at school. While at the stage of making a problem-solving plan, students neglect to write it in the answer sheet because they are in a hurry. Then at the stage of implementing the plan, students still have miscalculations due to calculation errors. At the stage of looking back at the results obtained, students often consider it unimportant or are written casually.

Mathematics PISA Problems Using Local Context for Elementary School Students

Referring to the results of an international survey, one of which is PISA, the achievements of Indonesian students are still below the global average score. The main problem that is the causative factor is that students need to be used to solving similar problems. The issues used in PISA questions are familiar to only some students in Indonesia. This study aimed to develop PISA model mathematical problems with valid and reliable local contexts and potential impacts. The type of research conducted is development research using the ADDIE model with the stages of analysis, design, development, and evaluation. The test subjects were fifth-grade elementary school students in Bengkulu and South Sumatra provinces. The research instruments were product development validity sheets, legibility sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis consisted of validity analysis using the Aiken Index and reliability with Cronbach Alpha. The study results show that PISA model mathematical questions with the regional context meet the validity, reliability, and potential impact criteria. The results of the implementation test showed that 11 students (27.50%) were in the low category, 32 students (55.00%), and 7 students (17.50%) were in the high category.

Project Based Learning (PjBL) Models with Folklore Nuance to Enhance Students' Writing Skills and Self-Confidence

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the PjBL model with folklore nuances to improve students' writing skills and self-confidence and to analyze the effect of self-confidence on students' writing skills in grade V. Currently, PISA shows that the ability of Indonesian students to solve PISA questions is still far above average value. For example, in PISA 2015, the performance of Indonesian students was still relatively low. Successively the average achievement scores of Indonesian students for reading, mathematics, and science are ranked 61st, 63rd, and 62nd out of 69 countries. The method used is a comparative method with a quantitative approach. The population of this study consisted of grade 5 elementary school students from the Ahmad Yani cluster in Adiwerna District, Tegal Regency, in the 2022/2023 school year, consisting of 10 elementary schools with a total of 375 students. The research sample consisted of 30 students from SDN Kaliwadas 01 and SDN Kaliwadas 02. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling. The two schools are located side by side. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The data sources used were primary and secondary. Primary data was obtained from the results of questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Secondary data was obtained through official releases or publications, including data used as literature such as books and reports. For data analysis techniques used are prerequisite analysis tests, namely normality test and homogeneity test, while hypothesis testing with t-test and simple regression test. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an increase in the writing skills of fifth-grade students of SDN Kaliwadas 01 and SDN Kaliwadas 02 after using the folklore-based Project Base Learning (PjBL) method. In addition, PjBL, with the theme of folklore, also increases students' self-confidence, where folklore has high character education values, one of which is the character of self-confidence. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there is an increase in writing skills of 5th-grade students of SDN Kaliwadas 01 and SDN Kaliwadas 02 after the use of the Project Base Learning (PjBL) method based on folklore. Learning the Discovery Learning Model How to Blended Learning in Practicum Using a Simple Volumetric Gasometer to Support Scientific Literacy

Education in the 21st century requires innovation and creativity as well as skills including scientific literacy skills and numeracy literacy, one of which is experimental learning. Often experiments are constrained by insufficient learning time so that learning becomes less meaningful. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the discovery model using the blended learning method using a simple volumetric gasometer in supporting scientific literacy. This research is an experimental research conducted in February 2023 at a Bandung high school. The research population was 432 students of class X at a senior high school in Bandung, which were divided into 12 classes. The sampling technique used simple random sampling so that 70 students were obtained consisting of 35 people from one control class and 35 people from one experimental class. The instrument used is a PISA question with the theme of innovation in alcoholic fermentation technology. Instruments were in the form of multiple choice questions and true wrong choice questions to measure scientific literacy profiles. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the learning outcomes of the discovery model by means of blended learning with practical methods using a simple volumetric gasometer can support scientific literacy.

STUDENTS’ MATHEMATICAL REPRESENTATION ABILITY IN SOLVING PISA PROBLEM

This study aims at describing students’ mathematical representation ability in solving PISA problem. Qualitative research was used in this study. Participants of the research were 28 students of IX A at junior high school 01 North Bengkulu. Data collected through representation ability skill test, questionnaire and interview. Data analysis revealed that students were able to solve PISA problems but still face some difficulties in presenting mathematical representations related to the solutions of PISA problem. Many students are able to solve the PISA questions having been given with the correct calculations and reasonable logic. Unfortunately, they have a low verbal representation ability. It is showed when students face difficulty writing down what is on their minds precisely. Furthermore, very few students solve the problem using symbol representation. In addition, very few students are able to present visual representations correctly. Most of the graphs made by students are still imprecise or totally incorrect.

Kemampuan Literasi Matematika Peserta Didik dalam Menyelesaikan Soal PISA Konten Space and Shape Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif

Students need to have mathematical literacy skills because it can help in making the right decisions and understanding the application or role of mathematics in real life. The results of the PISA survey, in Indonesia, the ability of mathematical literacy shows that it is still not optimal and similar incidents continue to occur, indicating that mathematical literacy skills are still low. The purpose of this research is to analyze the mathematical literacy skills of students in solving PISA questions on space and shape content in terms of cognitive style. This research method uses a descriptive with qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 2 students of class IX C of Muhammadiyah Junior High School in Surakarta. The instruments used were Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), mathematical literacy test, and interview guidelines. Data analysis used the Milles and Hubberman model, namely: data reduction and presentation, and conclusions. The results showed the ability of mathematical literacy in terms of cognitive style and concluded that FI learners can master all indicators of mathematical literacy in the three questions well. FD learners can master all indicators of mathematical literacy skills on questions number one and two whereas, on question number three FD learners have not mastered the indicators of reasoning and giving reasons because they are less careful in understanding the problems given.

Modelleme Uygulamalarının Matematik Okuryazarlığı Üzerindeki Rolünün İncelenmesi

The mathematical literacy or competence notion in PISA deals with the capacity of students to analyze, reason and communicate efficiently as they pose, formulate, solve and interpret mathematical problems in a variety of situations. The best way to improve mathematics literacy is that students have the necessary mathematical knowledge and different problem solving strategies, know when and how to use these strategies, and work with activities that involve different contexts of interest. When considered in this respect, teachers have an important role in the development of students' mathematical literacy. The aim of this study was to investigate the mathematics literacy status of Mathematics Teacher Candidates through PISA questions. The mathematical literacy status of pre-service teachers was examined within the scope of conceptual, operational and contextual questions and in terms of gender, academic grade point average and mathematical modeling. At the same time, semi-structured interviews have examined the difficulties that pre-service teachers experienced. Fully mixed concurrent equal status design was used. The participants were 113 pre-service mathematics teachers. Independent samples t-test and covariance analysis was used for the comparisons. Qualitative data analysis was conducted with content analysis. The research results, together with the suggestions, reveal important points for future studies.

The Effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning Model in Improving Higher Order Thinking Skills and Character of Elementary School Students

Achievement of science learning competence for children in Indonesia is still low. This low achievement is strongly suspected because Indonesian students are not used to dealing with TIMSS and PISA questions. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the problem-based learning model to improve higher order thinking skills (HOTS) and the characteristics of elementary students. This study was a quasi-experimental using a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest experimental design. The experimental class is a class with problem-based learning, while the control class is a class with direct learning. The research population was fifth grade elementary school students. The research sample consisted of 71 students from 5 schools, all of which were public schools. The school sample was determined by stratified random sampling and the class of each school was determined randomly. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively, both descriptively and inferentially. The results of the study show that problem-based learning is better than direct learning to improve HOTS; and problem-based learning is effective for increasing perseverance, responsibility, hard work, cooperation, caring, and tolerance.
