Enhancing the perovskite solar cell performance by the treatment with mixed anti-solvent

At present, the surface modification of perovskites by solvent treatment has become the most effective way to improve the performance of planar perovskite solar cells. Here, phthalocyanine nickel as an additive was introduced into the anti-solvent chlorobenzene to form a mixed anti-solvent. Prior to completion of the perovskite crystals, a mixed anti-solvent was infiltrated into the perovskite surface to improve the interfacial contact of the perovskite with the hole-transporting layer. This method improved the crystal quality of the perovskite film, thus enhanced the charge transfer efficiency, and suppressed the recombination of carriers effectively. The perovskite solar cell constructed with this perovskite films treated by the optimal concentration of nickel phthalocyanine in the anti-solvent solution yielded a power conversion efficiency of 19.18% and the filling factor of 74.38% under 100 mW cm−2 illuminations.

Phenylsulfanyl(fluoro)-substituted phthalocyanine nickel complexes: Synthesis and self-association

By cross-condensation of 4,5-bis(phenylsulfanyl)phthalonitrile (A) with tetrafluorophthalo-nitrile (B) in the presence of nickel acetate nickel phthalocyanines of the type A4, A3B, ABAB, AABB were synthesized. Their spectral properties were studied and the propensity to association in benzene solutions was revealed. The concentration of complexes where the association becomes notable decreases with the increased dipole moment of the phthalocyanine.

Synthesis and characterization of new metal-free and phthalocyanine nickel(II) complex containing macrocyclic moieties

A new metal-free and metallophthalocyanine carrying four 1,1′-biphenyl crown ether units on peripheral positions have been synthesized. Metal-free phthalocyanine was prepared by the reaction of 2,3-(4′,5′-dicyanobenzo)-11,12:13,14-di(1′,2′-biphenyl)-1,4,7,10,15,18-hexaoxacycloeicosa-2,11,13-triene with dry 2-( N, N-dimethylamino)ethanol under reflux. Metal derivative of phthalocyanine was also synthesized by the anhydrous NiCl 2 and metal-free phthalocyanine in dry quinoline under reflux. The target symmetrical phthalocyanines were separated by column chromatography and characterized by elemental analysis, 1H, 13C NMR, IR, UV–visible and FAB mass spectroscopies.

Photoconductive properties of TiO2 films prepared by the sol–gel method and its application

The Photoconductive characteristics of TiO2 films prepared by the sol-gel method, and the photovoltaic characteristics fabricated with the resulting TiO2 film and phthalocyanine nickel (NiPc) are investigated. For a TiO2 film with hydroxypropyl cellulose (Hpc) heat treated at 500°C for 10 min, the relative sensitivity is about ten times higher than that without Hpc. A space-charge-limited current is observed in the dark current–voltage characteristic of the TiO2 film with Hpc. It is found that the TiO2 film with Hpc has a photosensitizing effect. The photovoltaic characteristics of TiO2(Hpc)/NiPc are as follows: the short-circuit current density, Jsc is 5.6×10-7 A cm-2, the open-circuit voltage, Voc is 0.24 V, the fill factor (F.F) is 0.64 and the power conversion efficiency, η is 0.73. Furthermore, the carrier transport mechanisms of the TiO2(Hpc)/NiPc photovoltaic cell are discussed.
