The Need for Islamic Counseling Services for Couples with Marital Problems

Every couple hopes for eternal married life until the end of life. However, various challenges faced them. The divorce rate in Indonesia is increasing. Based on an interview with the counselor of the Advisory Board for the Development and Preservation of Marriage (BP4), one of the leading causes is the lack of religious internalizing. So that couples need help to build family relationships that are blessed by Allah SWT, one of which is through counseling services with an Islamic psychology perspective. This study wants to empirically examine the description of the needs of married couples who have marital problems in obtaining Islamic counseling services. This study using a mixed method with an explanatory sequential design type. The data collection tool is a questionnaire which uses descriptive quantitative analysis. Survey was carried out using a google form to 205 married respondents with accidental sampling. Then, in-depth interviews were added to the three of them. The results showed that when facing problems in their marriage, more than 50% of respondents stated that they tried to think positively that they were able to face the problem, then looked for the best information and solutions, made self-introspection and increased worship. This explains the importance of focusing on individual strengths, from a spiritual aspect. Meanwhile, for responses related to seeking assistance from external source, only less than 50% of respondents. For this external source, most of the respondents prefer to discuss with their close person compared to professionals. When talking to external parties, they are also more likely to come to ustaz to obtain suggestions from the spiritual side compared to professionals such as counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists. It describes that the religious perspective serves as one of the important factors needed in solving any problems faced by married couples.

The Work: An Islamic Psychospiritual Study

Objectives: Discover the meaning of the work in psychology and Islamic psychology, the main problem of this study is: what is the meaning of the work in psychology and Islamic perspective?. Methods: The researcher used the qualitative method (content analysis). And to find the meaning of work the researcher will study the theoretical literature about the work in psychology and the Qur'anic verses which include the word work. Results: The result show that there is big difference between the meaning of work in Psychology and Islamic psychology, researcher found that the meaning of work in psychology, it refers to an individual's explanations of his/her real live experiences and interactions at work, also it is about need of self-actualization. Also, the work is consistency between oneself and one's work, similar to the work is the harmony between one's self and one's work, similar to a evenness in one's personal relationship with work. But in Islam there is a big difference; Islam define work as worship (Ebadah). Conclusions: The implication of the result of this research is lead to develop scale of the meaning of work from Islamic psychology perspective.

Post-Traumatic Growth Pada Wanita Yang Mengalami Toxic Relationship Menurut Perspektif Psikologi Islam

This research aims to investigate the phenomenon of Post-traumatic growth (PTG) in women who experience toxic relationships according to an Islamic Psychology perspective. PTG refers to the positive changes and growth that emerge after a traumatic experience, and this research focuses on how women who have been involved in toxic relationships experience positive growth in accordance with the teachings and principles of Islamic Psychology. This research will use a qualitative approach with in-depth interview methods with a number of women who have experienced toxic relationships. Additionally, text and content analysis will be used to identify patterns of positive growth that emerge from these traumatic experiences. The collected data will be analyzed by referring to Islamic psychological concepts such as patience, trust, and muhasabah. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide a deeper understanding of how women experience positive growth after experiencing a toxic relationship, as well as how the principles of Islamic Psychology, such as trust and patience, play an important role in this process. The implications of this research can contribute to the development of a more holistic psychotherapy approach based on Islamic values to help someone overcome traumatic experiences and achieve positive growth.

Khushoo In Salah: An Overview of Nafs (Islamic Psychological Perspective)

Worship practices have been found to contribute to mental health. Salah is an obligatory act of worship and has priority in Islam. The benefits of salah services are also studied about the movements carried out in salah. Even though the movements of salah can be seen, not all Muslims can do it well because of the lack of humility or solemnity in salah. This research aims to explain the dynamics of khushoo from the perspective of nafs from an Islamic psychology perspective and how to achieve a state of khushoo in salah. This research uses a literature review method from various scientific articles and books about khushoo. The research results show that khushoo is related to the mental stages of nafs al ammarah, nafs al lawwamah, and nafs al mutmainah. Further discussion regarding the dynamics of khushoo in the review salah of the three nafs is also discussed in this article. Several strategies for achieving khushoo in salah are briefly reviewed.

Personality Moderation in the Perspective of Islamic Psychology: A Study of the Works and Teachings of Ibn Miskawaih

This study aims to look at the various virtues of the soul that become the midpoint in behavior, these virtues are the virtues between the two vices of extreme excess and neglect. Because moderation is the midpoint between these two attitudes. Departing from the above statement, the attitude that contradicts the moderate attitude certainly cannot be used as a reference to create a conducive atmosphere, both in terms ofsociety and individual life. Moreover, doctrines that suggest a liberal way of thinking and individualism cannot be used as a reference and view to create harmony and balance in life. Ibn Miskawaih in the book Tahdhib Alakhlaq wa Tathir al-A'raq excessive and defi ciency is a bad thing while moderation is a virtue and even a virtue in the psychological system. Excessive extremes are characterized by behavioral recklessness, arbitrary and free to do according to their own wishes regardless of the prevailing norms. This is not a gentle attitude from religious teachings that always echo the values of al-rahmat al-alamin which should be the attitude of a Muslim. This research is a literature review, exploring relevant sources such as articles, journals, books, and other documents that describe theories and information both past and present organizing the literature into the topics and documents needed. By sourcing the works and teachings of Ibn Miskawaih, namely Tahdib al-Akhlaq wa Tathir al-A'raq The approach used in this research is a psychological approach. The findings of this study produce a statement that the attitude of moderation when implemented specifically for individuals will make a moderate person towardssociety, mental and spiritual values.
 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat berbagai macam kebajikan jiwa yang menjadi titik tengah dalam bersikap, kebajikan tersebut merupakan keutamaan antara dua keburukan yakni ekstrem berlebihan dan terlalu mengabaikan. Oleh sebab moderasi merupakan titik tengah diantara dua sikap tersebut. Berangkat dari pernyataan diatas, maka sikap yang bertolak belakang dengan sikap moderat tentunya tidak dapat dijadikan sebuah acuan untuk menciptakan suasana kondusif, baik ditilik dari segi kehidupan sosial maupun individual. Terlebih lagi doktrin yang mengemukakan cara berfikir yang liberal dan individualisme tidak dapat dijadikan sebuah acuan dan pandangan untuk menciptakan keselarasan dan keseimbangan dalam kehidupan. Ibn Miskawaih dalam kitab Tahdhib Alakhlaq wa Tathir al-A’raq berlebihan dan kekurangan merupakan suatu keburukan sedangkan sifat moderat (moderasi) adalah suatu kebajikan bahkan merupakan suatu keutamaan dalam sistem kejiwaan. Sikap ekstrem berlebihan ditandai dengan kegarangan perilaku, semena-mena, dan bebas berbuat sesuai dengan keinginan sendiri tanpa memandang norma yang berlaku. Hal tersebut bukanlah sikap lembut dari ajaran agama yang selalu menggabungkan nilai-nilai ke al-rahmat al-alamin yang seharusnya menjadi sikap sebagai seorang muslim. Penelitian ini bersifat kajian literatur, menggali sumber yang relevan seperti artikel, jurnal, buku, dan dokumen lain yang mendeskripsikan teori serta informasi baik masa lalu maupun saat ini mengorganisasikan pustaka ke dalam topik dan dokumen yang dibutuhkan. Dengan bersumber pada karya dan ajaran Ibnu Miskawaih yakni Tahdib al-Akhlaq wa Tathir al-A’raq Adapun pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan psikologis. Adapun temuan dari penelitian ini menghasilkan pernyataan, bahwa sikap moderasi apabila diimplementasikan secara khusus bagi individu akan menjadikan pribadi yang moderat terhadap nilai-nilai sosial, mental dan spiritual.

CITRA DAN KEPRIBADIAN MANUSIA DALAM PERSPEKTIF PSIKOLOGI ISLAM

This paper aims to examine the image and personality of human beings in the perspective of Western psychology and Islamic psychology. The writing method used is a qualitative method (qualitative research). As for the process of analyzing the data, the author uses the descriptive-analytical analysis method. This paper proves that the study of human image in the review of Western psychology and Islamic psychology has similarities. Similarly, in the humanistic school of psychology the image of the human being is seen as a good being and has unlimited potential (homo ludens). This view is consistent with the teachings of Islam as well as the Eastern people's view of man. However, in understanding human personality, Western psychology and Islamic psychology have differences. First, in the perspective of Western psychology, the study of human personality is ethically neutral, that is, it only displays the personality that appears as it is.In the perspective of Islamic psychology, the study of human personality is ethically laden, that is, it displays the personality that should be. Second, in the perspective of Western psychology, the study of personality only looks at the empirical (environmental) aspect, without looking at the mental (spiritual) aspects behind the human personality.In the perspective of Islamic psychology, the study of personality not only looks at the empirical (environmental) aspects, but also looks at the mental (spiritual) aspects that underlie the human personality. Third, in the perspective of Western psychology the study of personality is anthropocentrically oriented, which means that the human personality is influenced by human potential alone, and negates the existence of interference or will from God Almighty. Meanwhile, the study of human personality in the perspective of Islamic psychology is anthropo-religiouscentric oriented, which means that human personality is not only influenced by human potential, but also there is interference or will from God Almighty.

BULLYING BEHAVIOR IN SCHOOLS IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF ISLAMIC PSYCHOLOGY

Bullying behavior in schools has been going on for a long time and is still growing today. The purpose of writing this article is to discuss bullying behavior in schools in the perspective of Islamic Psychology. The method used in this writing is the study of libraries by taking literature from the Quran and Hadith, journals through google scholar and scopus, news and related books. The results of this study show that bullying behavior in schools in the perspective of Islamic Psychology is abusive behavior that a person does to others in verbal or physical form according to an Islamic point of view. This behavior can result in mental disorders even to suicide. Efforts to overcome bullying are to instill awareness as early as possible about the bullying virus and give love to children. For victims of bullying who experience mental disorders are given guidance and forgiveness techniques, al-Tasywiq and al-Tadzkir, Tsawab and Iqab, tazkiyah and ta'lim al-hikmah.

The Role of Islamic Boarding School Education in Character Formation (Perspective of Islamic Psychology)

Islamic boarding school is a traditional school that focuses on Islamic education and is usually founded by a kyai or cleric. At the Islamic boarding school, students study Islam, Arabic, interpretation of the Qur'an, hadith, jurisprudence, morals, and various other sciences. In this study, researchers used literature research methods. A literature research method is an approach used to collect and analyze information from published related sources, such as journals, books, reports, and other documents. The aim is to obtain an overview of the topic under study and obtain the required information. CUTTING BEHAVIOR IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF ISLAMIC PSYCHOLOGY

The purpose of this paper was to find out how Islamic psychology views cutting behavior and how to overcome cutting behavior according to Islamic Psychology. This research was a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection technique was done by searching for sources of books and journal articles with the theme of mental health on Google Scholar and Scopus. The data analysis was carried out by collecting data, breaking them down into units, synthesizing, compiling patterns and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that cutting behavior is a form of human reaction that experiences problems, anxiety, or bad experiences from someone so that they feel guilty or disappointed with themselves. Cutting means clawing, cutting, or slashing limbs. Cutting behavior seen from the perspective of Islamic Psychology is an act that is forbidden because the impact can kill lives. The touching heart method with Islamic counseling, Qalbun Healing with a Sufism approach, namely dhikr accompanied by prayer readings can be alternatives in healing from cutting behavior.

SEX EDUCATION DALAM PEMBENTUKKAN KARAKTER ANAK PERSEKTIF PSIKOLOGI ISLAM

Sex education is something that needs to be implemented in schools and in the family environment. For this research, qualitative research methods are used that emphasize values. Qualitative method is a research procedure that produces qualitative descriptive data in the form of words and in writing or verbally from the people and actors who are observed. This method is used to try to answer as a whole about Sex Education in the Character Building of Islamic Psychology Perspective Children, besides this research uses a qualitative descriptive method. This cannot be separated from the role of teachers at school and parents at home. Character formation is carried out by teaching children such as the Koran, playing educational games at school and in the family environment, teaching children to sing according to their abilities, teaching children to distinguish colors, good and bad traits when playing at school or at home and teaching children about organs. reproductions that can be seen and that cannot be seen that can be touched and that cannot be touched and improve the ability or train the mind not to think about pornographic things. Dinamika Kepribadian dalam Perspektif Sigmund Freud dan Psikologi Islami

Humans are very complex creatures so that psychological scientists want to reveal the secrets that exist in humans, because each individual certainly has a different character. Personality is an understanding of behavior, thoughts, feelings, and parts of the soul that build human existence into a unity that is not separated in carrying out its functions. Therefore, personality is defined as understanding the I, the self, the self, or understanding the whole human being. In Islam, the term personality (syakhshiyah) is used to describe a person's behavior and try to assess its good and bad. Sigmund Freud concluded that the human self in forming his personality consists of 3 main components namely id, ego and superego. human personality according to Islamic psychology has three components, lust (Al-Nafs), reason (Al-Aql) and heart (Al-Qalb). Personality is actually a product of the interaction between the three components, it's just that there is one that dominates over the other components. The dynamics of human personality in the perspective of Islamic Psychology include: First, mutma'innah personality (serene principle). Second, lawwamah personality (awareness principle). Third, ammarah personality (pleasure principle). The typology of personality in Islam, which comes from the Qur'an and Sunnah, is divided into: First, the believer type. Second, the disbeliever type. Third, the hypocrite type.

The Meaning of Khashyah in Al-Qur'an: Critical Analysis of Basic Emotions in Islamic Psychology Fear is something that is human nature. Fear that is processed properly will be able to affect human psychic growth. The feeling of fear in Islam is called al-khashyah which has been mentioned many times in the Qur'an and by previous scholars. This paper aims to discuss the meaning of k hasyah in the Qur'an and its analysis in the perspective of Islamic psychology. This paper is in the type of literature review with the main reference source being the Holy Qur'an and its interpretations and books related to Khasyah. This paper is a qualitative research with semantic method used by the author to find the meaning of the Khashyah in the Qur'an, and then it will be analysed critically based on the frame of Islamic psychology. The results of this study indicate that the Qur'an explains a lot about the Khasyah in various derivations of its form, so that the Khasyah itself has various meanings. However, the essence of the meaning of Khashyah is the fear of Allah as a symbol of the perfection of one's faith. Knowledge is an important factor that can direct fear in the right path and direction. Fear that is guided by knowledge will be able to grow the mental health of its owner, in the form of good ethics, the spirit of worship, doing good deeds, and being far from lust. There are still many people who think that sex education is taboo, forbidden, and even something that is disgusting to talk about, especially in children and adolescents. In general, the purpose of sex education should be able to prevent the occurrence of sexsual criminal acts. Such as sexsual harassment, pregnancy outside of marriage and even abortion. It is the same with the purpose of sex education in islam is to maintain the safety and honor and sanctity of our children in the midst of society. According to psychology introduce sex education as early as possible for the child is better. Islam actually had to explain about sex education in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Where explained that sex education is not something that is taboo and should start from young children. The important thing to remember when giving sex education is to be in accordance with the child’s age and level of intelligence. Al-Haya’ Dalam Perspektif Psikologi Islam: Kajian Konsep Dan Empiris

The phenomenon of the character of shame (al-haya’) is now very factual. The culture of shame slowly began to disappear with the global process of assimilation, the shameless character of the eastern culture began to adopt the character of western culture which resulted in the loss of shame. The impact of the loss of shame in a person is that all of his behavior is difficult to control and will commit a variety of dishonorable acts such as corruption, cheating, cheating, displaying the genitals with sexy and mini clothes, adultery, drunkenness, piracy, sexual harassment, murder and others. While Islam strongly emphasizes the character of shame as a good moral. This study aims to see how the concept of al-haya 'in the perspective of Islamic psychology through conceptual and empirical studies. The study in this study was carried out with two events namely, the first with a literature review and the second an empirical study. Literature studies include the study of the verses of the Koran, Hadith and opinions of Islamic leaders who discuss al-haya '. The second study is through an empirical way by conducting interviews with 2 Ustadz and 3 students majoring in Sufism and Psychotherapy who have successfully applied al-haya 'in their daily lives. This research is included in qualitative research with a grounded theory design. The results showed that al-haya 'which is interpreted by the research subjects is almost the same as what is contained in Islamic studies. Al-haya ’is a shame that is driven by respect and aversion to something that is seen as insulting or violating the principles of sharia. People who have the character of al-haya 'are those who want to do something deed but then undo their intentions because there are bad consequences that can reduce the dignity of himself in the eyes of respected people

Honesty Education For Children From a Very Early Age: An Islamic Perspective On Psychology

The phenomena of corruption, collusion, and nepotism in Indonesia that are increasingly prevalent have made deep works for us as a nation. We can see the bad behavior of corruption, starting from the suboptimal quality of development results to the increasingly visible impact between the rich and the poor. People's dissatisfaction with the spectacle of corruption trials and terrible examples set by the nation's leaders has a psychological effect on the next generation. According to (Suud & Subandi, 2017), one of the repercussions of dishonesty is corruption. From the perspective of Islamic psychology, this study tries to answer research issues concerning what and how to undertake moral education for children. A library research or literature review is used in this study, as well as a non-interactive method called document analysis. Researchers consult a variety of sources, including documents, books, websites, study findings, and expert opinions, that are relevant to the research issue. The findings of this study show that, according to Islamic psychology, honesty education for children is a type of moral character education that teaches children aged 0 to 6 years how to coordinate their hearts and brains through words and actions. They always say that the Qur'an and Hadith are the most reliable guides. Furthermore, the stages of children's integrity character education discovered in Islamic psychology are the conception period, the first three years, and the 46th year, which are key moments in integrity character education. That will be in 46 years. The basic foundations for this performance are Surah an-Nahl: 78 and Surah an-Nisa: 5.

MENELAAH SAFAR DALAM PSIKOLOGI ISLAM

This article discusses the concept of safar in the perspective of Islamic psychology which has not been widely studied scientifically. Safar is usually more interpreted as a mere physical journey, without any attempt to cultivate psychological values cum spiritual. For this reason, the author explores safar based on the sufi point of view of Imam Al-Ghazali. The method in this research uses two approaches: literature study written by Imam al-Ghazali and empirical data mining by interviewing doctoral students of Islamic psychology study program at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. Some of the findings in this research include: safar is very beneficial for the psyche of a person who is a traveler, even when the traveler is experiencing obstacles in his safar.

Character Strength and virtues in The Perspective Of Islamic Education Psychology and Implication in Guidance and Counseling Services

The main objective of this study is to identify and formulate the strengths of character and virtue, according to Ibn Miskawaih and Imam Al-Ghazali. The study was carried out with a qualitative approach with the type of literature review, by tracing both books, especially journals related to the strength of character and virtues formulated by positive psychology. The data analysis was carried out in a descriptive-reflective-introspective way with the perspective of Islamic psychology. The results of the study show that in terms of the number and composition of the strengths of character and values of virtue developed by positive psychology and the psychology of Islamic education, which in this case is represented by the thoughts of Ibn Miskawaih and Imam Al-Ghazali, are not significantly different. There is little difference between the strength of the character of positive psychology and the psychology of Islamic education. The difference is that there is a middle point or middle way in the thoughts of Ibn Miskawaih and Imam Al-Ghazali. The shari'ah commands this midpoint or middle path; the goal is to achieve an intermediate path to all the qualities and qualities of virtue; if it deviates towards one of the two extremes, then it must be corrected. These findings can provide a valuable contribution to guidance and counseling services through strengthening character and virtue in the current era of global communication.

Criticizing Montessori’s Method of Early Childhood Education using Islamic Psychology Perspective

This study examined critically Montessori’s concepts on early childhood education through Islamic Psychology perspective. This research used qualitative methodology with a literature approach. The results showed that (1) Montessori’s method pays more attention to the cognitive aspect of children development while children potential doesn’t only consist of cognitive, affective, and psycho-motoric aspects, but also spiritual one; (2) Reinforcement are not needed in Montessori’s method, while in Islamic Psychology, rewards can increase children's learning and punishment is needed to make children become disciplined in carrying out the rules; (3) Learning environment should be structured, in order, realistic and natural. This concept is suitable for upper class educational institutions but it would be difficult for middle-low income groups since the materials required by Montessori’s method is expensive enough. (4) Parents and teachers are required to become observers and interpreters. This role may pose problem on the part of parents and teachers since not all parents and teachers have criteria to act as is it expected by Montessori’s method.

Source of Crime in Islamic Psychological Perspective

Crime is a problem that has long occurred, even since the beginning of the fall of the prophet Adam and Eve. So far, the problem of crime is only involved in information that comes from binding laws and regulations. Crimes that have been considered crimes are only limited to individuals who are trapped in the context of mistakes without explaining the origin of the source of the crime committed. About crime also tends to be discussed in the science of criminology. In the field of criminology, W Boger himself is divided into two, namely pure criminology that breeds criminal science in criminal anthropology, criminal sociology, criminal psychology, criminal psychopathology and neuropathology and phenology while applied criminology is criminal hygiene, criminal politics and criminalism. This writing is sharpened at the source of crime in the perspective of Islamic psychology. In Islamic psychology itself, crime is basically not much different from the psychological outlook developed by Freud's psychoanalysts such as explaining between Id, Ego and Super Ego, if in Islamic psychology the source of crime can be found in Nafs explanations such as Vegetable Nafs, Animal Nafs, and Human Insights . This crime has an explicit explanation in the Animal Nafs.
