This study addresses the theme of Permanent Health Education from the perspective of critical research, seeking to understand its importance and impact in the context of a hospital. The investigation revealed the inherent complexity of PHE, highlighting the need to transce0nd merely bureaucratic and formative approaches to embrace its true essence. Through the analysis of healthcare professionals' perceptions, both weaknesses and strengths of PHE were identified, emphasizing the importance of a dialogue that considers its multidimensionality. Furthermore, the relationship between access and professionals' participation was discussed, highlighting its nuances and the need for a differentiated approach. As a practical result, an interactive guide was developed as a tool to disseminate the principles and practices of PHE, aligned with the data and reflections derived from the research. Finally, the relevance of PHE as a fundamental strategy in health promotion is recognized, especially in times of crisis such as the COVID-19 pandemic, reinforcing the importance of its integration into social policies to effectively address contemporary challenges.
