Perineal wound is a trauma experienced by 75% of laboring women and can cause morbidity if the wound healing process is disturbed. One of the factors that influence the healing process of perineal wounds is tissue oxygenation and nutrition which is related to hemoglobin levels in the blood. The purpose of this research to determine the relationship between hemoglobin levels and perineal wound healing in postpartum women. This type of research is correlational analytic with prospective approach. Samples in this study were collected using purposive sampling technique with a total sample of 37 postpartum women with perineal wounds. The independent variable in this research is hemoglobin level and the dependent variable is perineal wound healing of postpartum women. To analyze the relationship between two variables using chi-square analysis test. The results showed that 21 (56.8%) of 37 postpartum mothers experienced postpartum anemia. While perineal wound healing in the good category was experienced by 23 (62.2%) of 37 postpartum mothers. From the results of the chi-square analysis test of the two variables, a p-value of 0.006 was calculated. Because the p value <0.05, there is a significant relationship between hemoglobin levels and perineal wound healing in postpartum women. Hemoglobin levels are related to the distribution of oxygen and nutrients to peripheral tissues. Therefore, the relationship between hemoglobin levels and perineal wound healing shows that if hemoglobin levels are above normal limits, then the better the condition of the perineal wound on day-7. Key words: hemoglobin level, perineal wound healing, postpartum period
