Representasi Perempuan dalam Pariwisata di Pantai Toronipa Desa Toronipa Kecamatan Soropia Kabupaten Konawe Sulawesi Tenggara

Gender inequality can often hinder the development of tourism, especially in Toronipa Beach, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The objective of research is to be an alternative to reduce gender inequality in tourism development that has not been intended to women. The theory used in this research is tourism theory with ethnographic method proposed by Spradley (2006) that the analysis of women's representation must be in accordance with field data. The results shows that women's participation in tourism activities at Toronipa Beach has several impacts: positive impacts including land utilization, increasing income, and making business run more easily, and negative impacts including less time for children, and competition between traders, and social conflict. The representation of women in tourism activities is expected to increase the vocabularies of tourism science.

Residents’ Perceptions and Outcomes of Community-Based Tourism in Andro Village of Manipur

Community-based Tourism (CBT) has various impacts on local communities in terms of socio-economic conditions, cultural heritage, environmental safeguards, and overall sustainable development of tourism in the long run. Sustainable development in tourism can be achieved through the independence of local communities and their active participation in tourism activities. Aiming to examine if there is any role of CBT in reaching sustainable goals for tourism, a case study that focuses on the social, economic, environmental and quality of life of the local community of Andro village in Manipur has been taken for study.
 The result of the present study was able to indicate the occurrence of Community-Based Tourism in Andro village and it has been able to contribute to the overall sustainable development of the people and tourism activities. There have been diverse benefits to the local residents, which include job creation, local economic development, helping eco-friendly tourism development, community empowerment and preserving the unique cultural and traditional identity of the local community.

Chinese Rural Elderly Tourism Motivation Regulation, Trigger and Feedback in the Context to Acquaintance Society

ABSTRACT Chinese society is a local “Acquaintance Society.” This paper takes the rural elderly aged above 60 years old in China as the research object, collects data through in-depth interviews, and adopts the Grounded Theory method, finally the structural dimension and internal mechanism model of rural elderly’s travel motivation were constructed. The results show that: Rural elderly tourism motivated by Local perception motivation, Conventional motivation, “Poor family rich road” consumption motivation, Leisure motivation for travel enjoyment, Emotional motivation of reference groups, Healthy longevity motivation, Conspicuous feedback motivation, Experience motivation after participation, which are composed of eight dimensions. Based on research, the article constructs the mechanism model of rural elderly travel motivation, eight dimensions follow the path: Before Travel Rural Statute →During Travel Experiential Trigger →After Travel Conspicuous Reward, the whole process of elderly participation in tourism activities is analyzed through the action path of Social Influence Theory (SIT). This paper not only gives suggestions for tourism enterprises and Chinese government departments to promote the development of elderly tourism market, but also provides references for the fairness and common prosperity of rural areas under the “Acquaintance Society.”

Eko-Agro Turizm ile Kırsal Yeşil Ekonomiye Geçişi Sağlamak: Kızıklı Aromatik Köy Örneği (Türkiye)

In the 21st century, where urban life and urban population continue to increase, the longing for green and the desire to return to nature attract people to destinations where nature-based activities is carried out. Eco-agro tourism, which is a type of tourism where eco-tourism and agro-tourism intersect, creates positive effects on the socio-cultural, economic and natural environment. Similarly, in the green economy approach, attention is drawn to the positive effects it creates in terms of economic welfare, quality of life and environmental protection. In addition, today the idea of destinations developing an economy based on environmentally friendly production is increasingly important. The study focused on eco-agro tourism, where the natural environment is placed at the center of the economic system in developing rural areas and sustainability in production and consumption can be achieved. It is thought that it is important to reveal the eco-agro tourism potential of the countryside from the perspective of the local people who know the region best. In addition, local people's ideas on eco-agro tourism for a sustainable "green economy" and "green-oriented development" should be known as it will show both the support they will give to tourism development and their participation in tourism activities. From this point of view, Kızıklı Village, which is connected to the Burhaniye district of Balıkesir, was chosen as the research sample. In the study, in which the qualitative research method was adopted, data were collected from 42 participants. The obtained data were subjected to content analysis, thematic groupings were made and their frequencies and percentages were presented to the reader. According to the data obtained from the field; it has been determined that Kızıklı village has eco-agro tourism potential, that the residents of the village will support eco-agro tourism development at a high level, and that eco-agro tourism can be the locomotive in strengthening the existing economic environment and making the green economy applicable in Kızıklı. Among the other results obtained from the research are that eco-agro tourism development and sustainability will be supported by the local people due to their positive contributions to the economic, natural and socio-cultural environment and that the local people will assume responsibilities as stakeholders.

THE PARTICIPATION OF BLACK HA NHI PEOPLE IN Y TY, LAO CAI PROVINCE FOR LOCAL SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT

From the application of theoretical issues about the local community in sustainable tourism development, the article analyzes and evaluates the role, level and form of participation of the local community – Black Ha Nhi people Y Ty in local sustainable tourism development. The studies show that at the Y Ty destination, the Black Ha Nhi have actively participated in the development of tourism in the locality. It can be said that they are the people who laid the foundation, pioneered and are an indispensable core component for local tourism activities. However, due to many different reasons (the economic conditions of the local community are still difficult, the level of awareness, especially awareness of knowledge, experience, and skills in tourism, etc.) is still limited. Their participation in tourism activities has not been highly effective. From there, the article proposes some recommendations to promote strengths and take advantage of opportunities; to limit weaknesses and challenges to promote more effectively the role of the Black Ha Nhi in particular, the local community in general, in the sustainable development of tourism in Y Ty.

ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS POTENTIAL THAT AFFECT TOURIST SATISFACTION IN CREATIVE TOURISM COMMUNITIES.

This article aims to examine the relationship between the potential of tourist attractions and their impact on the satisfaction of creative tourism communities. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 400 tourists who had previously visited creative tourism communities in Khon Kaen, Province. Regression analysis was conducted to analyze the relationship between variables. The study found that increasing tourist skills leads to increased satisfaction; access to tourist attractions enhances satisfaction with local identity; increased support capacity for tourism results in greater satisfaction with skill and experience products, as well as intangible tourism resources; and increased carrying capacity affects tourist satisfaction and participation in tourism activities.

Needs, motivations, constraints and benefits of people with disabilities participating in tourism activities: the view of formal caregivers

ABSTRACT Although access to leisure is a right for all, people with disabilities (PwD) face great constraints in exercising this right. Using a qualitative approach, this study examines the view of a group of Portuguese social organizations (PSO) that support PwD concerning the needs, motivations and constraints that they face when participating in tourism activities, as well as the benefits obtained through the participation in these activities. The results highlight that PwD are strongly motivated to participate in tourism activities, but they face a great number of constraints (intrapersonal, interpersonal and structural). Moreover, according to the view of PSO, PwD feel the benefits obtained from their participation in tourism activities intensely, which contributes to enhancing their well-being. The paper ends with strategies that should be implemented in tourism destinations to overcome the travel constraints faced by PwD to increase their participation in tourism activities.

Comparing Tourism Activity Patterns Influenced by a Tourism Information Source: A Case of the Gyeonggi Province, South Korea

With the development of the internet and mobile devices, tourists have been able to obtain information and then travel to various places or participate in diverse tourism activities in one travel excursion. This study investigates the patterns of tourist participation in tourism activities according to a tourism information source used through a relational approach using a social network analysis (SNA). This study utilizes raw data from 2021 Gyeonggi tourist survey data distributed by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization. Our results indicate different patterns of participation in tourism activities between tourists using online sources and those using offline sources. In addition, the tourism activity distribution patterns of the centralities were hierarchically structured and differentiated depending on the tourism information source. The present study then offers theoretical implications and future study avenues, as well as practical implications, focused on developing tourism marketing strategies and content for the Gyeonggi province, South Korea.

Promoting Geotourism in Dunhuang UNESCO Global Geopark

Geoparks in China have always overlapped with many other tourism branding schemes. It is unclear whether people are familiar with the UNESCO Global Geopark (UGGp) label in a place in which many tourism brands and abundant resources exist. This article relies on data collected and interviews conducted in the Dunhuang UGGp to focus on tourists’ cognition, perception and satisfaction and to analyse their understanding of geotourism and participation in tourism activities. We suggest that the administration of Dunhuang UGGp change the schedule of tour routes, highlight geotourism, and foster the popularization of science and technology (PST) through activities within the geopark that support inquiry-based learning and facilitate geointerpretation and lively learning.

Correlation of community-based tourism with sustainable development to improve community welfare: a review

Using a literature review methodology, this research investigates the correlation of community-based tourism (CBT) with sustainable development to improve community welfare with a literature review approach. The results in this study are based on previous studies that discuss related topics to the topic being studied. The study showed a correlation between community-based tourism and sustainable development to improve community welfare. The CBT model has a positive effect on managing and empowering local communities while still paying attention to the potential of natural resources, the skills of local communities, the socioeconomic and cultural communities of local communities, and the preservation of the environment to stay sustainable. Applying the CBT model to manage tourism areas is very effective because all activities involve the community in planning, management, and development while still paying attention to local cultural aspects. Tourism policy-makers and those in control of tourist sites should be able to develop and implement a community-based tourism model in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Thus, directly and indirectly, community-based tourism changes people's perceptions by increasing community participation in tourism activities and increasing the value of people who carry out tourism activities, with implications for improving welfare.

WOMEN’S PARTICIPATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF KEMBANGARUM TOURISM VILLAGE, SLEMAN, YOGYAKARTA

This research is motivated by the presence of women who as an actors in the development of tourist villages. This study aims to increase the level of women's participation in developing the tourism village of Kembangarum. This study used a qualitative method aimed at determining the level of women's participation in the development of a tourism village in the Tourism Village of Kembangarum with a total of 12 participants consisting of 10 women, 1 manager and 1 as a headman. The results of the study found that women's participation in tourism activities was still not optimal as seen from the participation process consisting of decision making, activity implementation, evaluation and utilization of the results which were not comprehensive. Even though, the activities held in the Kembangarum Tourism Village can improve the quality of life of the women who live around the Kembangarum Tourism Village, especially in economic and social aspects. The ‘why’ and ‘what for’ of participation in tourism activities: travel motivations of people with disabilities

ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to identify the motivations that lead people with disabilities (PwD) to make the decision to participate in tourism and to ascertain whether there are differences in these motivations between PwD with and without tourism experiences. To achieve this goal, a guiding research model was created based on the mechanism of self-determination theory (SDT). A mixed methodology approach was used. First, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a sample of PwD living in Portugal (N = 28). Second, a questionnaire was administered to a sample of Portuguese with disabilities (N = 348). The results obtained highlight that PwD are motivated to participate in tourism activities, mainly because of the benefits they expect to gain from these experiences. However, a great number have never had the possibility of participating in tourism activities. Intrinsic or self-determined motivations such as pleasure, increased knowledge, well-being and personal development, stand out. Moreover, PwD who have never had the opportunity to participate in tourism activities perceive more benefits than those who have already participated. The paper ends with the theoretical and practical implications, the limitations and future research to increase knowledge in an area that has been little explored in the literature.

Is There a Gender Gap in the Propensity to Travel of People With Disabilities?

People with disabilities (PwDs) face various constraints connected to their participation in tourism activities. This topic has become of greater academic interest in recent years, however, the study of gender issues in this context is still marginal. The present paper seeks to analyze gender differences in PwDs’ propensity to travel, explicitly examining constraints that may limit social inclusion in tourism activities. The empirical analysis is focused on sample data of the Italian population of PwDs gathered through an online questionnaire administered between April and July 2020. The findings reveal gender differences in PwDs travel participation, underlining matters related to constraints “impose,” by society as a whole. The paper discusses the implications of breaking down barriers and provides insights into the tourism industry so as to ensure accessibility, accurate information, and inclusivity.

Women empowerment in a traditional masculine industry: Tourism in context

Tourism is considered as an essential source of generating employment, reducing poverty, and empowering women. Most of the tourism initiatives targeting poverty reduction primarily focus on providing income opportunities for women that only enhance their economic empowerment. Nevertheless, this does not usually lead to make overall development. This is attributed to the normative gender roles, cultural complexities, and power inequities that exist in societies. Additionally, most of the earlier research studies on tourism, poverty reduction, and women empowerment are also based on economic factors. Contrarily, limited studies are focused on non-economic factors. These non-economic factors are social, political, and psychological components that are essentially important for women's overall empowerment. Thus, these factors need to be studied comprehensively as they may hinder women’s participation in tourism activities. Having taken this background as the underlying problem of study, this paper is an attempt to highlight the social and political barriers impeding women empowerment and investigate about tourism development in the socio-political contexts affecting women, especially in rural areas, using case studies pertaining to different tourism destinations.

Strategi Pengembangan Ekowisata Danau Kaenka Berdasarkan Komponen 4A Di Desa Fatukoto, NTT

Development of attractions in destinations is important for the existence of tourism. The purpose of this study is to analyse the potential for ecotourism-based tourist attractions and strategies for developing ecotourism-based tourist attractions based on the 4A component in Fatukoto Village, Kupang. Respondents in this study were the Head of the South-Central Timor Regency Tourism Office, the Head of Fatukoto Village, the Hamlet Head, Community leaders, Pokdarwis, visitors and visitors visiting Fatukoto Village. Techniques using data through observation, interviews, study documentation of Fatukoto Village, literature study from Fatukoto village reports. The analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the potential in Fatukoto Village is Lake Kaenka, Mount Fatunausus, Beautiful Hills View of Fatukoto Village and Plantation. The development strategy based on the 4A component is directed at increasing community participation in tourism activities and implementing events to increase tourist visits because the 4A component in Fatukoto Village is very supportive. The State of Web Accessibility for tourists with disabilities: a comparative study between different tourism supply agents

Purpose This study intends to examine the web accessibility of three tourism supply agents (hotels, travel agents and museums). The results obtained contribute to observing whether there are differences in levels of web accessibility among these tourism supply agents and, based on the problems identified, suggest strategies to overcome these problems. Methods To evaluate the level of web accessibility of tourism supply agents, two automatic online tools (AccessMonitor and TAW), which consider Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.0, were used. To identify differences among the supply tourism agents in terms of the level of web accessibility, statistical tests (ANOVA and Kruskal–Wallis) were used. Results All the tourism supply agents analysed reveal considerable problems related to web accessibility. The perceivable and robust principles are the two principles of WGAG 2.0 with the greatest number of failures. However, differences among the supply agents analysed are observed. Museums present the highest level of web accessibility, while travel agents have the lowest. Therefore, it is necessary to implement improvements in tourism websites to overcome informational constraints that many people with disabilities (PwD) face in tourism activities. Conclusions Due to the central role of the Internet for people with and without disabilities, this study highlights barriers that should be eliminated to facilitate the travel decision-making process, especially for PwD. Consequently, it can contribute to a greater number of people being able to participate in tourism activities, improving their well-being and rehabilitation. Implications for rehabilitation The participation in tourism activities contributes to improve health, quality-of-life and well-being of all people. For people with disabilities (PwD) to be able to travel, without constraints, access to online information needs to be provided. The identification of the level of web accessibility of tourism supply agents provides important guidelines to improve the websites, facilitating the travel tourism planning of PwD. If informational barriers to access tourism activities are eliminated, the participation of PwD in tourism activities will tend to increase, and consequently improvements in their well-being, health and rehabilitation will happen.

Determinant Factors for Community Participation in Dutungan Island of Barru Regency

Understanding determinant factors in community participation is essential in encouraging community participation in tourism activities. However, community participation studies mainly focused on identifying community participation issues and reasons to advocate community participation. This research aims at 1) exploring factors that affect community participation in tourism, and 2) proposing strategies to encourage active participation by the local community. This paper employs a qualitative methodology conducted in 2019. The research reveals that community participation around Dutungan Island has three categories: supportive participation, micro business-based creation participation and passive participation. The determinant factors for community participation include; 1) private management of tourism attraction; 2) lack of collective awareness by the local community, and 3) lack of skills and knowledge in tourism. This paper proposes the importance of implementing communitybased tourism village; strengthening cooperation between the owner or manager of Dutungan Island and the local community; and optimising Dutungan Island management’s role to help the local people who reside the village. Dutungan Island’s manager should be able to share profit to help the local people through social programs that may include training for the local people and providing investment for micro business. This paper provides insight into how to encourage community participation through the role of different stakeholders, including the island and the local community.

LOCAL COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION AND ECONOMIC IMPACT OF PENTINGSARI VILLAGE TOURISM YOGYAKARTA

The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the level of community participation in Pentingsari Village Tourism management Yogyakarta. There aremany activities involve the local communities, such as cooking class, traditional dancing, painting, out bond and local activities likes planting rice and fishing. The level of local people participation is based on the theory of public participation Level (Tosun, 1999), that is categorized into spontaneous, induced and coercive.This study measured the level of participation by Tosun Theory (1999), the same as previous research of Agustini and Suarthana (2016), then analyzed its impact on the economy to local communities. Methodology used in this research are qualitative and qualitative analysis using Partial Least Square (PLS). In depth interview conducted to 8 key informants in managing Pentingsari Village Tourism and 40 respondens whom involved in tourism village activities. The finding of this research is that community participation in tourism activities impact 29,2% to economy. It was generate income, providing employment, increase the amount of production, marketing network and promote the Pentingsari Village Tourism to the world. The implications of this study are to raise the level of community participation in various tourism activities. Thus the local community's economy will improve, the standard of living and welfare of the people is also increasing. Limitations of this study only focus on the economic, social and environment aspects; in fact, many other aspects that rose up as the impact of community participation in tourism activities need to be further analyzed.

STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN PARIWISATA BERBASIS MASYARAKAT PADA DESA WISATA NYAMBU

The purpose of holding this research is to find out the tourism potential of Nyambu tourism village, and how this community-based tourism development is carried out in Nyambu tourism village, to obtain suitable strategies to be applied in the future. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that Nyambu tourism village has a variety of tourism potentials both natural, cultural and artificial which are also supported by large potential human resources in terms of quantity and quality but have not been optimally involved in tourism development. From the results of the SWOT analysis, it can be determined that the main strategy (Grand Strategy) in community-based tourism development in the tourist village of Nyambu is increasing awareness and community participation in tourism activities. This community participation is in the form of participating in promoting the existence of the tourist village of Nyambu through information technology. Supporting alternative strategies consist of: cooperation with travel agents, promotion, utilization of village funds, product diversification, environmental preservation, mentoring, foreign language training and community innovation.

Partisipasi Perempuan dalam Aktivitas Pariwisata: Studi Kasus Suku Baduy

This research aims to analyze women’s participation in tourism activities in the Outer Baduy tribe, according to the tourism components consisting of attraction, amenity, accessibility, and ancillary (supporting factors). This research uses a qualitative research method, in which data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. This research involved 18 informants from several stakeholders, such as the tourism awareness group, handicraft producers, homestay and restaurant owners, government officers, and tourists who have visited the destination. Informants’ selection uses a purposive sampling technique. According to the tourism components, the research results show women’s participation in tourism activities in the Outer Baduy tribe, only two of four tourism components: attraction and amenity. In the attraction component, women possess more or less the same level of participation as men. However, in the amenity component, women may have a higher level of participation than men may. In the accessibility and ancillary (supporting factors) components, only men participation existed. The limited level of women’s participation is rooted deep and taken for granted in their culture. The women themselves do not dispute inequality and disparity because they consider their role as women in the domestic sector and not in the public sector.
