<p><em>The role of teachers in the world of education is crucial in developing student's collaborative intelligence. The ability to write scientific articles can help teachers contribute more to disseminating their knowledge and experience. This program is designed to improve teacher's skills in writing scientific articles through the introduction of basic concepts and effective writing practices. The participants in this program are 14 teachers from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Darul Dakwah wal-Irsyad Lapeo (MIS DDI Lapeo). The method of this program consists of the theory session and the practice session. The theory session discusses the basic elements of scientific writing, including article structure, use of references, writing ethics, and good writing techniques. Furthermore, practical sessions provide opportunities for teachers from MIS DDI Lapeo to apply the knowledge they have gained with direct guidance. Program evaluation is carried out through pre-tests and post-tests to measure the increase in participant's understanding and skills. Through this activity, teachers from MIS DDI Lapeo experienced an improvement in understanding scientific writing, as well as an enhancement in practical skills in structuring and writing high-quality scientific articles</em><em>.</em></p>

The Descriptions of Parents with Children Suffering from Cancer during Encountering Emergency Situation: A Qualitative Descriptive Study

Introduction: Cancer is a chronic disease caused by abnormal cell growth in the body and can affect all ages, including children. Children with cancer are very vulnerable because they experience growth and development, so they need special attention, especially in emergencies, to avoid death and complications. This study aimed to describe parents' perceptions of having children with cancer when the child is in a crisis. Methods: This research design used a qualitative descriptive approach. This study's population was parents with cancer children with sampling using purposive sampling. Data collection through in-depth interview techniques (in-depth interview) using a recorder, field notes, and interview guidelines. Research data in conversation transcripts were analyzed using Colaizzi's method.Result: Five themes developed, including 1) the participant's understanding of the emergency in pediatric cancer, 2) efforts made by participants in caring for children with cancer, 3) participants' experience in managing and treating children with cancer, 4) challenges in treatment, and 5) participants' expectations in the treatment carried out by their children. The experience obtained by participants is a feeling of fear of worsening the situation and negative thoughts that arise & impact the participants' psychology. In addition, the challenges experienced by participants are the cost of traveling the distance between health facilities and residence. Behind it all, participants hope their children will recover from cancer.Conclusion: There is a lack of understanding of parents regarding emergencies in cancer; behind that, there are efforts made, such as efforts to treat children with cancer, struggles to care for children with cancer, and spiritual aspects.

Pelatihan Teknologi Sterilisasi dalam Kemasan Plastik Tahan Panas untuk Memperpanjang Umur Simpan Sate Ayam Khas Ponorogo

Chicken satay is one of the signature dishes from Ponorogo Regency, often used as souvenirs by travelers. However, its short shelf life has limited the marketing and distribution area of the product. The activity aimed to train small enterprise partners in Ponorogo Regency to preserve their chicken satay using a simple commercial sterilization method and to measure the thermal process adequacy. The thermal process adequacy measurement was carried out at the SEAFAST Center, while the training was conducted in person at the partner's locations in Ponorogo. A questionnaire was distributed during the training to assess the participant's understanding of preserving food products using the thermal process. The sterilization process was performed by heating chicken satay in a pressure cooker for 1 hour (calculated since the maximum pressure cooker's temperature was reached), resulting in F0 values ranging from 4.2 to 5.2 minutes. The training was delivered by providing theoretical and practical experience. Data from questionnaires showed that the training improved the participants' understanding, with the average score per participant increased from 6.13 to 10.92 (32% increase).

Socialization of Cyber Crime Threats Ahead of the 2024 Election for the Online Ojek Community

Ahead of the 2024 General Election, cyber threats are expected to increase along with the increasingly massive use of cyberspace for political purposes. Members of the Online Ojek Community are a group of people who are vulnerable to being targeted and "perpetrators" of cybercrimes. This is because the online driver community always interacts with digital devices and the general public. The dedication team has carried out the activity stages, starting with a questionnaire of 16 questions, lectures, and outreach to 15 participants, as well as discussions and questions and answers. Related material on how to filter and test the correctness of data and information; how to act and behave in the use of social media and digital devices; how to know the rule of law in the use of digital technology. After the implementation of the activity, there was an improvement in the participants' understanding. Initially, the average participant had an adequate understanding of the number 72, after the implementation of the activity, the average participant's understanding was very good with a score of 92.86. This increased knowledge will reduce the risk of Cyber Security Threats for online motorcycle taxi drivers.

Educational Benefit of the Three-Dimensional Exoscope Versus Operating Microscope in Otologic Surgery.

To compare observation of otologic surgery using a traditional operating microscope (OM) and a three-dimensional exoscope. Prospective, nonrandomized, noncontrolled study. Tertiary care center. Senior medical students and otolaryngology trainees observing otologic surgery performed with OM and exoscope were asked to complete a questionnaire comparing the two experiences. The key variables were image clarity, depth perception, observer's level of motion sickness during the surgery, the participant's understanding of middle ear anatomy, and their overall preference between OM and exoscope. Twenty-two observers participated in the study. Subjective clarity of the image was significantly better with the exoscope compared with the OM (9.7 ± 0.6 versus 6.9 ± 1.7, p = 0.0004) as well as the depth perception (9.25 ± 0.87 versus 5 ± 2.69, p = 0.0007). Observers subjectively had an improved understanding of middle ear anatomy after observing an exoscopic surgery, but not a microscopic surgery. All but one observer preferred the exoscope. The three-dimensional exoscope may be a valuable educational tool for teaching trainees otologic surgery. More objective studies are needed in the future to assess the degree of improvement.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Kompos Berbasis Limbah Penyulingan Terna Nilam di Kecamatan Teunom Aceh Jaya

This service aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the patchouli farming community in Teunom District in making compost based on patchouli distillation waste. The method of implementing this service used training, which included the stages of counseling, demonstrations, mentoring, and evaluation. Participants participating in this activity were patchouli farmers, totaling 15 people. The evaluation instrument for this activity used a questionnaire and was analyzed descriptively. This dedication showed (1) an increased participant's understanding of compost, and (2) an increased participant's skills in making patchouli waste-based compost.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Air Ragi Salak (Salacca Zalacca) Dan Roti Di Desa Wisata Ledoknongko

Salak (Salacca zalacca) is a fruit that is widely developed in Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, and as an icon of the Ledoknongko Tourism Village. The Covid-19 pandemic has reduced the number of tourists visiting the Ledoknongko Tourism Village. Covid-19 is very influential on residents' income and, of course, the use of salak fruit. One alternative to using salak fruit is to process it into natural yeast made from salak fruit (Salak Yeast Water). Natural yeast or wild yeast is the yeast that is usually always present in some foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and cereals. Furthermore, the yeast can be used for making bread. The training was conducted for a group of women from the Ledoknongko Tourism Village, which included a pre-test, giving materials, the practice of making salak yeast and fried bread, and a post-test. The pre-test and post-test results showed the participant's understanding of salak yeast; in the pre-test, the correct answers were 30%, and in the post-test, 93%. In addition, according to a survey conducted, particpants have a high desire to continue to train skills and develop products from salak yeast water so that salak yeast water has the potential to continue to be developed and commercialized in Ledokonongko Tourism Village

Peningkatan Penggunaan Social Learning Network Bagi Siswa-Siswi SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron Kab. Aceh Utara

Today the development of the internet is increasing rapidly and has penetrated into several fields, including the field of education. Learning media also develops and creates a Social Learning Network. Edmodo is an online learning medium that combines several Learning Management Systems and Social Network features into a Social Learning Network specifically made for educational purposes. To obtain an effective learning process, teachers and students must have innovative and interesting learning media, this is what is experienced by SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency. Teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency have carried out training on increasing the use of Edmodo learning media, but students still have not used social network-based learning media. This is the background for the service team to provide training on "Increasing the Use of Social Learning Network for Students of SMP Negeri 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency ". This activity was held at the Syamtalira Aron 2 Public Middle School Computer Lab using lecture methods and hands-on practice. The participants of this training were 30 people, all of whom were students of SMP 2 Syamtalira Aron North Aceh Regency. The activity lasts for one day with a duration of four hours. Through this activity, it is hoped that the participant's skills and understanding will increase regarding the use of the Edmodo learning social network

Pilot Study Using Decision Trees to Diagnose the Efficacy of Virtual Offshore Egress Training

For the offshore energy industry, virtual environment technology can enhance conventional training by teaching basic offshore safety protocols such as onboard familiarization and emergency evacuation. Virtual environments have the added benefit of being used to investigate the impact of different training approaches on competence. This pilot study uses decision tree modeling to examine the efficacy of two pedagogical approaches, simulation-based mastery learning (SBML) and lecture-based training (LBT), in a virtual environment. Decision trees are an inductive reasoning approach that can be used to identify learners’ egress strategies in offshore emergencies after training. The efficacy of the virtual training is evaluated in three ways: 1) analyzing participants’ performance scores in test scenarios; 2) comparing the decision tree depiction of participant's understanding of emergency egress to the intended learning objectives; and 3) comparing the decision strategies developed under a different pedagogical approach. A comparison of the resulting decision trees from the SBML training with trees generated from the LBT showed that the different training methods influenced the participants’ egress strategies. The SBML approach resulted in concise decision trees and better route selection strategies when compared to the LBT training. This pilot study demonstrates the diagnostic capabilities of decision trees as training assessment tools and recommends integrating decision trees into virtual training to better support the learning needs of individuals and deliver adaptive training scenarios.

PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN PERAN KOPERASI BAGI PENGUSAHA PEMULA UMKM SETU BABAKAN DI KECAMATAN JAGAKARSA

This service program aims to assist the government's efforts in increasing public knowledge of the importance of cooperatives in developing business for novice business actors in Jagakarsa sub-district. The target audience was seventeen novice business actors in the Betawi cultural heritage Setu Babakan Srengseng Sawah Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta. The activity model was counseling combined with discussion method between the target audience and the team. The service material was directed at the use of own capital from cooperatives and using a revolving capital model. The activities carried out were able to increase the knowledge of the target community. Before the activity, the participants's understanding of the role of cooperatives as a source of shared capital was 49 percent. Based on post-activity analysis related to the level of understanding of the target community on average increased by 19 percent to 68 percent. The suggestion for this service activity is that the activity must be carried out continuously.

Penerapan Teknologi Budidaya Sayuran Ramah Lingkungan dengan Wadah Limbah Plastik di Kelurahan Tanjung Johor Kota Jambi

Application of Environmentally Friendly Vegetable Cultivation Technology with Plastic Waste Containers in Tanjung Johor Village, Jambi City . The Sekintang Dayo Farmer Group is is part of the community who live in Tanjung Johor Village, Pelayangan District, Jambi City, with their main livelihood being fish farming. This Village is a densely populated residential area and prone to flooding, with the main income of the community is still relatively low ( around Rp. 1.500.00,-/month ) . Based on this condition, the implementation team invited the women to practice vegetables farming in the area around houses to meet the daily needs and even increase family income. The technology applied was vegetable cultivation by modifying hydroponic and verticulture techniques, by utilizing water from fish ponds as a vegetable growing medium. Planting media containers use various plastic wastes which are often the main cause of river silting around settlements. This activity aims to improve farmers' knowledge and skills on environmentally friendly vegetable cultivation technology with hydroponic-verticulture techniques and inivited partners/farmers to have alternative farming businesses that can be an additional source of family income. The approach method used is participatory rural appraisal, which prioritizes the active participation of partners. The evaluation of activities showed an increase in participant's understanding and skills about the technology applied by more than 94%. The partnes looked very enthusiastic and ready to develop and design their own simple technology for vegetable farming around the house yard, to help the fulfillment of nutritional needs and increase family income.

Lack of awareness of nursing as a career choice for men: Aqualitative descriptive study.

This research aimed to identify the factors that impact why men do not view nursing as a career choice. Qualitative description was utilized to capture the rich narratives and insight of participants. Through convenience sampling, nine New Zealand qualified male nurses within their first three years of practice were recruited. Semi-structured interviews were conducted between November 2019 and January 2020 via zoom from sites across New Zealand. All interviews were recorded and transcribed, with the data analysed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis. The findings reflected the experiences of the research participants as they made sense of a predominantly female-dominated work environment both during their undergraduate training and prior to recruitment. The research identified two key themes: The first found that men in nursing experienced isolation due to the societal gendering of nursing influencing the participant's knowledge and understanding of what nursing was, as a career. The second theme found that for participants, nursing was not prominent in their awareness when leaving school and making career choices. This research indicates that nursing as a career choice for men is still underpinned by a lack of understanding of the actual role of the nurse and what nurses do, and is more supported by a societal perception that nursing is still a feminized profession. Findings can be used to make recommendations for change in the profession to strengthen diversity in the workforce and redefine the recruitment of men into nursing. This research reviewed the career choices of men in nursing and why they chose nursing as a profession. Understanding the barriers of why men do not consider nursing as a career choice assists with finding strategies in both the clinical and academic environments that can enable greater gender diversity within the nursing profession. This applies to this research as the focus was on male registered nurses only.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REGARDING MENSTRUAL HYGIENE MANAGEMENT (MHM) AS AN EFFORT TO CARE REPRODUCTIVE ORGANS IN ADOLESCENT

Introduction: According to the Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) in 2017, young women (63.9%) in maintaining cleanliness during menstruation are still lacking due to low knowledge and information about personal hygiene during menstruation. SMP Negeri 1 Sampit is located in Central Kalimantan where most of the students do not have knowledge about menstrual hygiene management. Methods: The activities used in this community service program were in the form of health education to 120 students of 7th and 8th grades. The community service events carried out through this webinar include opening, pretest, giving material, and closing with a post test. The pretest was carried out before giving the material to determine the participant's initial understanding of menstrual hygine management. Results: Knowledge related to adolescent growth and development scored well as many as 19 people (15.83%) then during the good posttest it became 63 people (52.50%). Knowledge related to menstrual hygiene management during the pretest who got a good score was only 20 people (16.67%) and 72 people (60%) good in posttest. While the knowledge related to mood disorders in adolescents who got a good score at the pretest was 21 (17.5%) and 70 people (58.3%) had a good score in posttest. Conclusion: Community service activities conducted in the form of online webinars to provide health education and modules to teachers can improve knowledge and practice of menstrual hygiene management as an early effort in maintaining and caring for the health of the female reproductive organs.

 Knowledge is a participant's understanding of a given topic to receive, retain, and use information, which is influenced by experience and skills, most of the knowledge a person has comes from both formal and informal education, personal experience and other people, the environment, and the mass media. . Food serves as a vehicle for many pathogenic agents that cause what is known as food-borne illness or food poisoning. Lack of knowledge, attitudes and practices to prevent food poisoning can lead to food poisoning. Mishandled food and poor personal hygiene can cause pathogens to grow and multiply in sufficient numbers and cause disease in humans. Food poisoning is caused by a bacterial, viral, or fungal infection. The main sources of food poisoning include natural sources such as poisonous plants, chemical or metal contamination, such as pesticides and herbicides and from micro-organisms such as bacteria and viruses. The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge of D3 Nursing students about food poisoning. The method in this research is descriptive method. The sampling technique used is a total sampling of 88 respondents. The results of the research conducted at STIKes Santa Elisabeth Medan as follows, the knowledge of D3 Nursing students at STIKes Santa Elisabeth was mostly very good, obtained as many as 62 respondents (70.5%). Knowledge of D3 Nursing students about food poisoning is in the very good category because the higher a person's education and life experience, the faster they can understand a condition.
 
 
 

Quarantine during COVID-19 pandemic: A cross-sectional study to investigate its compliance and psychological impact among health care professionals in Southern Haryana

BACKGROUND: COVID-19 has caused a pandemic during 2019–2020 that has resulted in illnesses ranging from the usual flu to serious respiratory problems, even leading to mortality. Recent literature has suggested that the health (psychological) impact of quarantine is wide-ranging, substantial, and can be long-lasting.OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to assess the mental health status (psychological distress) of those who experienced quarantine and their compliance with quarantine during the outbreak of COVID-19 among health care professionals.MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study included 217 health care staff (doctors and nurses) working in COVID-19 outpatient and wards, sent on quarantine at home or state-run facilities. The psychological impact was assessed using the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10). Categorical data were presented as percentages (%), and the Chi-square test was used to determine the association, with a P < 0.05 considered statistically significant.RESULTS: Out of 217 participants, only 206 gave their consent to be part of the study, and only 10.2% (21/206) of quarantined subjects were compliant with all protective measures. It has a significant association with the participant's understanding of all the rationale for quarantine and with the Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (P < 0.05). The mean score obtained on Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) subjects was 18.91 ± 5.16, whereas 63 subjects out of 206 (30.6%) had a score of 20 or more.CONCLUSION: Given the developing situation with the coronavirus, policymakers urgently need evidence synthesis to produce guidance for the public. Thus, the outcomes of this study will definitely help authorities, administrators, and policymakers to put quarantine measures in a better way.

Transdisciplinary disposal governance – Learning and reflexion in and between organisations and through participation of the public

Abstract. The site selection procedure is participatory and citizens are to be involved as “co-designers of the procedure” (§ 5 (1) 2 StandAG). This is an understanding of participation that goes beyond information and consultation. Although participation is differently defined in participation research, there is agreement that participation – especially in this context – goes beyond formal public participation, as is customary in approval procedures in the context of commenting procedures, and includes forms of informal public participation (cf. Mbah, 2017). Further innovative forms of public participation are needed in which concepts – for participation, for learning, for reversibility, etc. – can be (further) developed. Paragraph 5 (3) stipulates a further development of the participation procedure with the public. On the one hand, this provides framework conditions and, on the other hand, opens up a scope for design, which must be designed together with different groups of actors. This requirement was formulated both before and within the framework of the sub-areas conference (cf. Brohmann et al., 2021; Ewer and Thienel, 2019; Kuhbier, 2020; NBG, 2019, 2021). Therefore, we would like to address the following research questions: What does “learning” mean in the German Site Selection Act (StandAG 2017, § 1 (2)) and how can it be governed and implemented? Who learns and under which conditions? What are the requirements and possibilities of participation and what limitations can be derived in this context? Knowledge and information are the basis of all decision-making processes. Learning is part of a reflexive information exchange and essential for creating, transferring, and readjusting knowledge. In this respect, learning and reflexion means at least a two-way process, often multiple ways and loops. Therefore, we would like to focus on reflexive learning processes, so called double-loop learning processes (Argyris, 1977; Argyris and Schön, 1978) that consider that there should be responsive paths of knowledge transfer to generate learning through reflexion. Such reflexive learning processes may take part at different levels; individual, collective (groups, e.g. departments in an organisation), organisational, and between organisations and indirectly involved or responsible (individual and collective) actors must learn. The reflexive learning processes go beyond strategies and techniques to reach a certain goal but scrutinise certain attitudes and may lead to changes in normative values and belief systems. This is not or if at all, only to a certain extent an automatic process. Rather for systematic learning and reflexion spaces and formats are needed as well as different methods of knowledge and information transfer – mainly if it comes to the requirements of participative formats. These methods and formats as well as spaces need to be adjusted to context and time, which means that e.g. different actors need to be differently addressed and the back-bonding into the organisation and institutional routines must be considered. For this, contextual knowledge and collaboration is crucial. Participatory and transdisciplinary approaches are important key concepts which need to be filled in with actions to initiate and further develop learning processes – as understood and demanded by the StandAG and the selected literature. We give insights into findings based on literature reviews, jurisdictional analysis of the StandAG, several interviews with different actors of the procedure and with experts of different topics (regional planning, place attachment, psychology). In summary, we identified challenges for learning and give insights how to overcome or at least process them.

Impact of Engaging Students in Health Survey Data Analysis and as Full Partners in School Change: Results From a Mixed Methods Study.

Young people demand and deserve participation in shaping the health and well-being of their community. Getting to Y: Youth Bring Meaning to the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (GTY) is a positive youth development initiative, whereby students analyze local youth health data and create change. This article adds definitive evidence to support the theoretical foundations of GTY expounded by Garnett et al. (2019). A mixed methods convergent study design, collecting quantitative data from pre- and postintervention surveys and qualitative data from focus groups, was enacted during the 2018-2019 school year. Survey participants were 256 students attending 20 Vermont middle/high schools. Surveys measured self-efficacy, health literacy, civic engagement, resiliency, and knowledge. Focus groups with 50 students solicited open-ended feedback. Wilcoxon signed-rank tests determined student-level change over time. Focus group transcripts were coded using grounded theory and a priori codes from the survey. Statistically significant improvements were seen in average scores from pre- to postintervention surveys in all five domains and differences in effect by gender. Results from the focus group complement the quantitative findings. Participation in GTY positively affected youth participant's understanding of their own health and well-being and increased agency to take action on behalf of themselves and their community. As the Youth Risk Behavior Survey is available nationwide, GTY is poised for replication to critically engage youth with relevant data to inform social change.

It was just mind blowing to be honest: a qualitative phenomenological study exploring cancer survivor’s experiences of indocyanine green lymphography used to inform lymphedema therapy management

A diagnosis of secondary lymphedema following cancer treatment can necessitate lifelong therapy. Indocyanine green (ICG) lymphography is a technique for visualising lymphatics to enable individualised lymphedema diagnosis, staging and therapy prescription. The participant experience of undergoing the procedure and the impact of imaging findings on lymphedema management is unknown. This study aimed to explore participant's experiences of ICG lymphography to inform cancer-related lymphedema therapy. A qualitative phenomenological study was conducted using semi-structured interviews with 17 adult participants who had undergone ICG lymphography for stage 0 to 2 upper or lower limb secondary cancer-related lymphedema (International Society of Lymphology, Lymphology 53(1):3-10, 2020). Seventeen participants were included in the study ranging in age from 36 to 78years (M = 53.8years), the majority hada primary diagnosis of breast cancer (N = 7) or melanoma (N = 7). Three overarching themes emerged. Firstly, describing the experience of the ICG lymphography procedure. Secondly, the new knowledge explained symptoms and tailored treatment. Participants reflected on how seeing their lymphatic system helped in understanding about their lymphedema symptoms and guided changes towards more individualised lymphedema management. The final themedescribed the internal impact of self-knowledge, which included impacts of the new information on empowerment and motivation to self-manage participant'scondition as well as their feelings. ICG lymphography had beneficial impacts on participant's understanding of their lymphedema symptoms and often led to changes in management, positive outcomes in response to management changes and peace of mind about management plans, leading to feeling more empowered to self-manage their condition.

E-learning Implementation Assistance is Fun for Paud Teachers in Argasunya Village, Cirebon City

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is felt by all levels of society and all aspects of life, including early childhood education. Educational units must have the readiness of human resources in the form of educators and education staff as well as the readiness of technology facilities so that the learning process can be carried out effectively and efficiently. However, not all PAUD units are able to carry out internet-based learning which is called e-learning. This study aims to provide assistance in implementing a fun E-Learning for PAUD teachers in Argasunya Village, Cirebon City. This study uses a qualitative method. The community service steps taken are through webinars, question and answer and discussion. The results of this study can be concluded that the understanding of participants in implementing e-learning increases through examples of fun activities that parents can do at home so that they can stimulate all aspects of child development

Emerging living styles post-COVID-19: housing flexibility as a fundamental requirement for apartments in Jeddah

PurposeThe COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the compulsory quarantine of many of the world's inhabitants, and by staying at home, several functional developments emerged in residential spaces in Jeddah that affected the role of the house as a contributor to individuals' quality of life under the pressures of quarantine. Given the necessity of the apartments to adapt to these emerging developments, this study explores the determinants associated with the flexibility of residential apartments by looking at the extent to which they meet the new psychological, social and cultural roles required by their users post-COVID-19.Design/methodology/approachThe qualitative approach (1) extracted concepts related to the flexibility of housing from the available literature and (2) extrapolated the flexibility of the residential apartments from the participants' study (12 families) in different areas of Jeddah by analyzing the results of targeted interviews.FindingsThere is a gap in the participant's understanding of the quality of housing and the level of satisfaction with a housing design that differs before and after their quarantine experience. The participant's adaptation to self-quarantine was mainly through furniture distribution, and housing flexibility was less reliant on the physical transformation of the place than on the change in the inhabitants' perceptions. There was an indication that the deficiencies of flexibility in design relates to the functional, cultural and structural aspects of residential buildings.Originality/valueThis study generated suggestions to develop the foundations for flexible housing design and activate its role under the post-quarantine context according to social and cultural variables. Some proposals should become future requirements for residential apartments to benefit officials and stakeholders to develop housing flexibility.
