Baitul Mal Aceh and Productive Zakat Education for Mustahiq

There are eight groups of zakat recipients mentioned in the Koran. Without Baitul Mal Aceh's maximum role, especially in distributing productive Zakat, what the mustahiq receive may not be used productively. Zakat education is one of the things that can be done so that zakat recipients can really understand and make good use of the assistance. Therefore, Baitul Mal Aceh in particular has a very strategic role so that the zakat funds distributed to mustahiq, especially productive zakat, can really be utilized optimally and it is even hoped that the recipients will become muzakki in the future. Zakat education for mustahiq needs to continue to receive attention, including in terms of evaluating the provision of zakat. Religious education has an important role in providing understanding and awareness so that Muslims, especially mustahiq, become people who do not waste the wealth they have. The forms of education that can be given to them include: teaching knowledge about zakat, awakening their hearts with the light of faith, providing an understanding of zakat, and instilling in their hearts that using wealth well is part of worship.

Hybridisation as a Normal Process of Life: A Contribution to the “Ukuthwasa” Conversation within the Methodist Church of Southern Africa

The Methodist Church of Southern Africa (MCSA) is currently engaged in a conversation on ukuthwasa (initiation into an ancestral calling). The conversation has sparked different reactions within the Church. Some are uncomfortable engaging in this conversation as it is seen as an unnecessary and unChristian conversation to have within the Church. There are also some who have gone through the ukuthwasa and feel that the conversation is long overdue within the MCSA. Furthermore, some believe in sangomas and are happy about this conversation. While this conversation is taking place within the MCSA, it is shrouded in suspicion and fear. There is fear that it might lead to the conversion of the Church to African traditional religion, which many feel is the opposite of Christianity. This paper is intended as a contribution to this conversation by using secondary or desk research as a methodology. Firstly, the paper defines the African worldview in which ukuthwasa is embedded. Secondly, it explores the meaning of hybridisation. Thirdly, it indicates areas within the Christian faith where hybridisation has become part of worship and belief. Finally, the paper concludes by recommending openness in this conversation as a likely solution that could lead to the Methodist vision of a “Christ healed Africa for the healing of nations.”

Distributing Zakatu Kasbil 'Amal as an Alternative to Student Funding, Evidence in Indonesia’s Universities

Background The purpose of this paper is to clarify the use of zakat as an alternative funding for students to pay their tuition fees. Apart from that, this paper also explains how zakat collected from muzakki fixed income known as zakatu kasbil 'amal, which is known as income zakat and is still controversial in Indonesia. Method The study uses a systematic literature review with an inductive approach to find out the theoretical basis of the research questions. The analysis uses a qualitative method that explores significant findings from various literature sources. The findings will combine with the exploration results of several universities in Indonesia that use social funds as a tool for helping students. Result The income zakat controversy mediates using the precautionary principle, which ensures that the projected income indeed exceeds the nisab (1 year) of the income. Some Islamic universities in Indonesia carry out this zakat withdrawal and even use an auto debit system. On the other hand, the distribution of zakat to students is also controversial because zakat is part of worship whose distribution is regulated into nine asnaf. Nevertheless, students may be equated with one of the asnaf so that it becomes permissible to be the subject of zakat distribution. Observation findings at Indonesian Islamic universities even show that the results of zakat distribution strongly influence the success of students’ studies, even if only in aid of tuition fees.

Variasi Makna Puasa Dalam Al-Quran (Studi Semantik al-Quran)

AbstractThis article discusses the various meanings of fasting or shaum in the Koran. This research departs from the difference in the meaning of shaum between QS. Maryam verse 26 and QS. Al-Baqarah verse 183. Through the analytical descriptive data analysis method with the semantic approach of the Koran, the author tries to analyze in an inclusive and comprehensive manner related to the variations in the meaning of fasting in the Koran. Linguistically, fasting means refraining from something or leaving it, be it refraining from eating, talking or walking. This meaning contained in QS. Maryam verse 26. However, functionally in the Koran, fasting does not only mean withholding, but also the part of worship that must be carried out with the provisions of the applicable Shari'a (QS. Al-Baqarah verses 183-185, 187), and also has an alternative meaning expiation or ransom for prohibited acts (QS. Q.S Al-Baqarah verse 196, Q.S An-Nisa verse 92, Q.S Al-Maidah verse 89).

ISLAMIC AND MEDICAL PARENTING EDUCATION AS AN EFFORT TO PREVENT STUNTING: A STUDY ON BREASTFEEDING MOTHERS IN YOGYAKARTA

As a country with a majority Muslim population, it is alleged that the level of understanding of the Indonesian Muslim community towards the verses of the Qur'an is low. The religiosity potential of people who have strong religious beliefs has not been utilized as a means of socializing the urgency of exclusive breastfeeding. One of the districts in Yogyakarta (Kulonprogo), has a high stunting rate in children, as a result of a lack of intake of breast milk in infants. This article aims to show the form of understanding of Yogyakarta Muslim mothers towards the verses of breastfeeding in the Qur'an and the factors of understanding these verses. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Participants in the study consisted of 90 people, namely breastfeeding mothers in the districts of Sleman, Bantul, Kulonprogo, Gunung Kidul), and the city of Yogyakarta. The case study approach used data analysis. The low understanding of mothers about the commands and benefits of breastfeeding in the Qur'an has been caused by the low role of religious scholars/resources in bringing up the topic of breastfeeding commands, breastfeeding is part of worship in the Qur'an. This research has provided a new perspective in breastfeeding research that has so far been seen from a health perspective. This research seeks to combine health and religious approaches in understanding the benefits of breastfeeding. This paper recommends that it is necessary to optimize the role of Islamic scholars in studying the command to breastfeed in the Qur'an.

The Importance of Seeking Knowledge in Islam: A Literature Review

This study discusses the importance of seeking knowledge in Islam by conducting a literature review. The background of this research is the obligation in Islam to seek knowledge as part of worship. This study aims to explore an understanding of this obligation and the method of seeking knowledge in Islam. The method is to review the literature on the obligation to seek knowledge in Islam. The results of this study show that the search for knowledge in Islam is limited to not only religious science but also science and technology. The search for knowledge can also be done through various methods, such as formal study in educational institutions, discussions, readings, and observations. The contribution of this study is to provide a deeper understanding of the obligation to seek knowledge in Islam and the importance of developing oneself through lifelong learning.

Humans are basically spiritual beings. Because, a person can mentally react to something. Humans have always tried to relate to the divine. So the relationship with the god is in the form of worship. The concept of worship in both the Old and New Testaments is the same concept. The Hebrew word for century and the Greek for the beginning of latreia denote the occupation of slaves. And to perform "worship". Before Allah, then His servants must bow down in fear of adoration full of awe, awe and respect. This is the concept behind one's operation in every sacrificial activity in every ministry. Likewise with the implementation of public worship believing in the Lord Jesus. Human sacrifices given as thanksgiving offerings to God are part of worship. No after service offers. This is because the offer is not simply a symbol of giving with what one has, whether in money, or in kind, or in some other way. But the best thing about an offer is that to whom the offer is made the Lord Jesus must be based on faith or the right foundation of a gift from someone else or for some other purpose. Almost all forms of worship are carried out by Sunday schools for children, youth, youth, mothers, fathers, parents, Sunday services and other services bringing offerings of thanks for being part of the service. But the gift must be well understood and taken seriously.

The Customs and Confrontations of Devadasis in Our Society

Devadasi system has been a topic of several studies in the early Middle Ages these were the women who were recognized with a lot of wealth and fame and were dedicated to temples. - Devadasi functions have been part of worship throughout the long history of the temple system. In India, the practice began and developed in the early Middle Ages. Recently the system is associated with humiliation and prostitution. This article examines the inclusivity of Devadasi in society and the challenges faced by the community.

TPQ Teacher's Motivation in Teaching the Qur'an Viewed from the Perspective of Maslow's Theory of Needs

This study aims to explore and describe in depth the motivation of TPQ teachers in teaching the Qur'an which is associated with the theory of needs developed by Maslow at TPQ Miftahul Jannah Kalangan Ngunut Tulungagung. This study uses a qualitative approach and this type of research is a case study. This study’s data sources were the head of the TPQ, students, and teachers. This study uses several methods in collecting data, namely: the participatory observation method, in-depth interview method, and documentation method. The results of the study stated that TPQ teachers thought that teaching the Qur'an was part of worship, teaching the Qur'an was following the orders of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, teaching the Qur'an was a practice that would never lose its reward, and teaching the Qur'an to children is part of the fun (entertainment). TPQ teachers in teaching the Qur'an are not based on the fulfillment of physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, esteem needs, and actualization needs but are based on the main intention, namely to worship Allah SWT.

THE MİʿRĀJ EVENT CONSIDERED AS THE SOURCE OF CEM AND SEMAH IN ALEVISM AND THE FORTIES (KIRKLAR) CEM

This article aims to deal with the cem which is the main form of worship in Alevism, the Semah as an inseparable part of the cem, and in this context, the cem of the Kırklar or the Kırklar Council considered to be the source of cem and semah. The study focuses on some important issues in the Miʿrāj event and in the Kırklar Council. In Alevism, how the Prophet Muhammad’s ascension took place, who invited the Prophet and what happened during this journey, how he stopped by the Forties Council after the journey, what was discussed there, how the semah was performed, and what happened during the semah, are explained in the article. Cem is very important for Alevis who are loyal to Hz. Ali, and a vital element for their worships. While going to cem, Alevis perform ablution and wear clean clothes. While entering the cem square, a prayer is made at the door and entered without stepping on the doorsills. Cem takes place under the leadership of the worship leader called Dede. Cem worship cannot be started until the resentment is resolved. If there are any resentful and offended people in cem session, they come to Dede and they are reconciled. It is because in cem, no one can be resentful and offended or in a fight with anyone. With the instrument played by zākir and his sayings, miʿrājlama and elegies, people in cem completely distance themselves from the outside world and their desires, and become closer to Allah. In the miʿrājlama, the Prophet Muhammad’s ascension to the sky, his entrance to the Kırklar Council, his participation in the semah with the Kırklar are described and some parts are partially animated by people in the cem. Semah is one of the twelve services. Semahs, which are usually performed towards the end of cem rituals, are performed for Allah. Both during the semah and at the end of the semah, the Dede emphasizes that the semah is actually a sacred return, not a game, but a part of worship, by saying, “For Allah, not for watching”. During the cem worship, the Dede’s words such as “Let our semah be the Kırklar Semah”, “Let our cem be written to the cem of the Kırklar” show the importance and sanctity of the Kırklar Council for Alevis.

Reflections on ethos and tenets of music in the Assemblies of God Uyo district, Akwa Ibom State

Music has always been an indispensable tool in any church setting. In Nigeria, the early missionaries appropriated music in liturgical services in form of hymn singing, chant and anthem as part of worship in the church. With continual apt growth of Christianity in Nigeria, Assemblies of God church evolved from the Pentecostal movement, with emphasis on the activity of the Holy Spirit and on holy living. Hence, contents and styles of music were made to suit the pattern and beliefs of Assemblies of God such as spirit motivated songs, evangelistic songs, mission songs and salvation songs other than the conventional hymns singing and anthems. This paper therefore attempts to highlight the distinctive traits of Assemblies of God, Uyo District, and its reflection on the music ministration. Also, it showcases the basics for music ministers (choristers and music directors) to include: musical background, spiritual life, social and leadership skills as fundamental principles, beliefs and moral conduct patterned by the beliefs of the church for quality service to God and humanity. Qualitative design and typical forms of data drawn from interviews, participant observations and relevant documents were applied in the study for data collection. The significance of this paper is to provide justifiable guidelines to every music minister to attain the required moral and music standard widely accepted and appreciated by God and man. With the findings, it recommends periodical re-orientation towards musical knowledge and spiritual relevance as regard to what Assemblies of God believe for effective music ministration

ANALISIS PENYELESAIAN SENGKETA AQAD MURABAHAH DALAM PUTUSAN PENGADILAN NEGERI BUKITTINGGI NOMOR 08/PDT.BTH/2004/PN.BT DAN PUTUSAN PENGADILAN AGAMA BUKITTINGGI NOMOR 284/PDT.G/2006/PA.BKT

The problem in this research is how the aqad murabahah dispute resolution process and the juridical analysis of the verdict in the Judgment of the Bukittinggi District Court No.08 / PDT.BTH / 2004 / PN.BT. The second problem is How is the aqad murabahah dispute resolution process and judicial analysis Bukittinggi Religious Court No.284 / Pdt.G / 2006 / PA.Bkt. The research findings are the dispute over the al-murabaha sale and purchase agreement of Bank Bukopin Syariah Bukittinggi which was decided by the Bukittinggi Religious Court is a dispute that has permanent legal force or inkrak van gewijsde before Act No. 3 of 2006 is effective about seizing the execution of collateral, then it is not the principle of nebis in idem. The Bukitinggi Religious Court has the authority to examine and decide the case of al-murabaha sale and purchase agreement Bank Bukopin Syariah Bukittinggi. The Bukitinggi Religious Court bases its decision on: KUH Perdata, Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council and the Al-Hadith. Settlement of dispute defaults best with Court decisions. The need for a law on sharia economics in addition to the Al-Quran and Al-Hadith as a guideline for sharia economic actors. Islamic banks must implement Islamic law in a fixed manner as part of worship.

ASA DALAM ALUNAN GULA GENDING : STUDI TENTANG PANDANGAN MASYARAKAT DESA KEMBANG KERANG DAYA TENTANG PENDIDIKAN

Poverty, for some people, is not always followed by low education. This is evidenced by the experience of the gula gending sellers who can send their children to higher education. This research was completed using a qualitative descriptive method with the help of the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Luckman. Sources of data used are primary and secondary data. Bringing up the title "Asa in the strains of Gula Gending: A Study of the Views of the People of Kembang Kerang Daya Village on the Ability of Gula Gending Sellers to Send Children to Higher Education", describing the limitations of parents in terms of education, skills, and access to employment, has actually become a motivator for parents to change the future for the better. Children are believed to be an investment in the future, both in the hereafter and in the world, for gula gending sellers, so educating them to have a strong motivation in education is part of worship and struggle. In the results and conclusions, we describe the discussion: (1) gula gending in Kembang Kerang Daya Village, (2) the seller of gula gending and children's education, (3) the views of the people from Kembang Kerang Daya Village on the ability of the gula gending seller to send their children to higher education. The Foundation of Islam, the Spirit of Pancasila to Shape the Character of the 2045 Golden Generation: A Literature Review

To find out the foundation of Islam, the soul of Pancasila to shape the character of the 2045 Golden Generation. The review process starts with a search engine (google scholar) to search for articles. Searches range from 2013-2020. Most of the research results show that Pancasila is the implementation of Islamic teachings so that practicing the values of Pancasila is part of worship in accordance with Islamic teachings and practicing Islam as a form of devotion and loyalty to the Indonesian nation Pancasila (Five Pillars) with values that able to build the character of youth in facing the challenges of the 2045 Golden Generation. The great hope is that in 2045 Indonesia will be filled with a generation that has noble character and has the spirit of Pancasila so that good character is formed, with the character instilled in the golden generation must be based on three aspects, namely the value of honesty, the value of truth and the value of justice. The character of the 2045 Golden Generation is the main force in building the nation’s future. So it is very important that the application of Pancasila values in the midst of society is synergized again with religious teachings in schools and further education institutions to students and the nation’s generation, in order to support the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), independence, sovereignty, and shape the character of the Generation. Puas Sesuai Syari’at: Kepuasan Pernikahan pada Pasangan yang Menikah dengan Cara Ta’aruf

This study aims to explore marital satisfaction in couples who are married through ta'aruf. The method used is qualitative approach with phenomenological analysis. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews on 5 participants. This study describes that couples who marry through ta'aruf, have relatively the same object of satisfaction, namely religiosity with the aim of getting the rida and blessing of Allah Swt. This finding shows that research related to marital satisfaction, especially in couples who are married in a ta'aruf way, is no longer a subjective study, but has an alternative to begin to be objectively explained, predicted, and even controlled through religiosity factors. Also, marriage through ta'aruf is not only explained in the relational area between husband and wife, but also becomes part of the spiritual area and even religion, getting married as part of worship.

The Tradition of Reading Asma'ul Husna in al-Muhsin Mosque, Krapyak, Yogyakarta

In its development a lot of religious traditions that emerged in the community, especially religious traditions carried out in a mosque, a place where the center of worship of Muslims in congregation. Masjid Jami 'Al-Muhsin Krapyak Wetan is one of them, there is a tradition that is constantly being carried out and has become a part of worship at the mosque. The tradition of recitation of Asma'ul Husna at the Jami Mosque 'Al-Muhsin Krapyak Wetan is a unique phenomenon, in which there are interesting things in terms of normative and historical. With qualitative-field research methods and using a phenomenological approach, the tradition will be presented so that it becomes a comprehensive study and provides interesting information. This study gets a conclusion that from the tradition there are several things that make the tradition to be lasting. Namely the existence of a person who becomes a role model, then there is awareness of knowledge about the things that support the implementation of the tradition continuously. All of these things support one another for the continuation of the tradition of reading Asma'ul Husna at the Mosque.

Intellectual Property Rights and Monopoly in the Perspective of Islamic Jurisprudence

This paper aims to reveal fiqh's review of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their relationship with monopolies that can harm humankind. There are two opinions in contemporary fiqh regarding IPR; first, Ahmad al-Ḥujjī al-Kurdī, which states that IPR as part of worship, should not be hidden and should not be monopolized and exploited by anyone. Second, Muṣṭafā Zarqā, Muḥammad Fatḥī al-Duraynī, Muḥammad Sa'īd Ramaḍān al-Būṭī who agree with the protection of IPR. Through literature study and descriptive analysis approach, this paper concludes that if intellectual property rights cause harm to society and the state, especially in the exploitation of material rights, then it has created a monopoly that is detrimental and prohibited. Every country has different policies to protect IPR when it does not harm the community and the state.

Dancing in praise of God: Reinterpretation of theology in worship

In many religions, worshipping God whilst moving the body is part of worship. This article aims to explain and defend the position that worshipping God by moving the body in liturgy is biblical and has a theological foundation. The discussion is divided into three. Firstly, the writer traces the origins of objections to bodily movements in liturgy and analyses them. Secondly, it is explained that body movement is a language to God. A biblical argument about body movements, which should not be trapped in appearance and drama, is the third part. The article concludes that worship by gestures is biblically substantiated. The research contribution suggests that the church should be accommodating in its orthodoxy to accept this as truth. The church should deem it important to teach the congregation the concept of true worship and not worship that is trapped in appearances. The key finding is that the meaning of worship lies not in the direction but in the worshippers’ hearts. Each church should have a unique way in their respective cultures. This article performs a theological reconstruction of worship theology and analyses it briefly through a literature review of several literature works such as books, articles and research findings.

KRITERIA DEWASA (MUKALLAF) DALAM BIDANG JINAYAH

AbstractMukallaf concept in the part of jinayah is understood by multiple meaning in society, some judge mukallaf in the part of jinayah is the same as the part of worship, and some other argue differently. Nash itsself do not give a definite firmness to the criteria of mukallaf, but rather give signs that in the relationship of fellow human beings mukallaf concept has its own character. This paper aims to try to explain about the concept of mukallaf and its criteria in the part of jinayah. The data sources studied refer to nash evidence and various theories that are developing today from various disciplines. The results found can be mentioned that mukallaf in the part of jinayah is considered in the nature of puberty, perfect of both al-'aql and rusyd . These three traits will only be found perfectly in a person when they are at least 18 years old. Based on this understanding, the perpetrator of the crime can be held accountable for his actions and sanctioned to him after aged 18 years. A child who is not yet 18 years old commits a criminal offence then must be given educational teaching to him. Sacred Space - Healing Islands of Urban Conglomeration

India and its architecture has always been guided and shaped by its culture and traditions. Spaces reflect the traditions through the user and their activities. The word ‘Sacred’ has been linked in tremendously strong manner with widening its horizons from traditions to modernity. Sacred Groves as a concept is an ancient way to protect, preserve and value the mythology to give a sustainable future. People have strong attachments to sacred trees, gathering in their shade, socializing and developing economic spaces under them. Sacred is linked to any one single entity or one category of architecture. Sacred space is a healing sphere that is pure, holy and safe. The sacred space allows us to enter our quiet inner world, where healing takes place. Sacred space has shaped and provided deep meaning to cities and urban communities. Due to tremendous growth in urban cities, culture, traditions and values of city gets diverse. Sacred space could even be an area where a person often finds peace and the religion in work. The daily routine and regime become a part of worship. Across the culture and throughout time, people have designated sacred trees and groves as special places to meditate. Sacredness is conveyed through location, symbolism, and through the social process of creating such sites e.g. - Vrindavan, Nathdwara. Sensitivity to issues for Architecture and Urban Planners require more research and education to understand and evolve. This could be layered with social, cultural, common linkages to add more meaning and depth. The sacred can be personal, valuable in the perception of an individual or a group following tradition. The sacred space needs to achieve harmony in the multiplicity of voices found in the public. As policy makers and decision makers increasingly think of parks as green infrastructure, we much appreciate that these spaces have layered social and historic meanings.
