The purpose of this article was to study the enlightenment of parents of schoolchildren in the issues of deviations in the behavior of minors. The problems related to parental education in the field of deviant behavior of children and adolescents are considered. The basis of the relevance of the issue of child and adolescent deviations is analyzed. An author's questionnaire was developed and an experiment was conducted to identify parental enlightenment in the recognition of markers of deviations of children and adolescents, the choice of strategies for managing their behavior and the principles of educational techniques for building constructive communication with them for the favorable continuation and development of child-parent relations. The subjective and objective factors of the lack of education of parents in the field of work with deviations of school-age children are determined. A statistical analysis of indicators of parental knowledge and ideas about deviations is given, in which conclusions are drawn that only 45,8 % of respondents had a correct idea about deviations as a phenomenon; about the origin of deviations — 14,6 %; about markers of the development of deviations — 20,8 %; about recognition of crisis characteristics of behavior — 39,6 %; about strategies for conflict-free management of deviant child behavior — 47,9 %; parental and school influence on the formation of child behavior — 73,9 %. It is concluded that the analysis of the results of most indicators shows a low level of education of parents in the deviant behavior of children and adolescents. The measures for educational work with parents in order to prevent the development of deviations in child-parent relations and deviant behavior of children and adolescents in educational organizations and in broad communications are proposed.
