Effects of the ratio of Pd and Ni on the La0.8Sr0.2CrO3 (LSCr) and Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9 (SDC) composite anode were clarified on the oxidation of dry methane during SOFC reactions using La0.83Sr0.17Ga0.8Mg0.2O3 (LSGM) electrolyte. The highest current density, faster oxidation of methane, was obtained at the Pd and Ni ratio of 75:25(mol). Amounts of carbon deposition were quite small for all Pd-Ni/oxides- composite anodes under the open and closed circuit conditions. Effects of steam were studied on the oxidation of methane over various Pd- Ni/composite-anodes. Higher current densities were obtained above the Pd and Ni ratio of 75:25 at P(H2O) from 3 to 10 kPa. These data proposed the Pd(75)-Ni(25) supported the LSCr-SDC-composite anode is suitable for the oxidation.
