Does Organizational Culture Influence IT-Business Alignment and Business Performance in Large Manufacturing Companies?

This study examines and analyzes the influence of Organizational Culture on business alignment and business performance in large manufacturing companies. This study used a quantitative research method; data were collected using a questionnaire using SmartPLS 4. This study involved 47 large manufacturing companies as unit analysis with multistage sampling in sample selection, first by purposive sampling and second by the Slovin formula. The results of this study stated that organizational culture affects IT-business alignment significantly but has no effect on the business performance. The collaboration and formalization indicators effect on strengthening organizational culture on IT-business alignment. On the other side, the lack of creative and innovative culture in the organizational culture of manufacturing companies has an impact on failure in supporting business performance. The results of this study provide valuable insight for IT and business executives in developing the organizational culture of large manufacturing companies that is suitable to cope with IT implementation strategically namely IT-business alignment in supporting business performance successfully.

Factors influencing organizational culture on business performance among employers in technological micro-enterprises

Microenterprises are crucial in sustaining the economy, especially in developing economies like Nigeria. Many of these microenterprises do not take cognizance of necessary determinants like organizational culture and its factors to ensure proper running of their day-to-day activities. The study aims to identify some demographic statistics of employers in technological microenterprises, investigate the factors influencing organizational culture and assess organizational culture's influence on business success among employers in selected technological microenterprises in southwest Nigeria. The study was carried out in three southwestern states in Nigeria with 213 business owners (employers) as respondents. Seventeen factors were explored, but eight were extracted to be considered in measuring the employers' organizational culture: climate, customer demand, technological changes, observed behaviour, norms, consistency, adaptability, and sense of mission. Linear regression analysis was also used to measure organizational culture's impact on technological microenterprises' business performance with SPSS as a statistical tool. The study confirms a positive and significant relationship between organizational culture and business performance at 5% significance. This study concludes that the eight variables extracted are important factors to consider when measuring the organizational culture of employers in technological microenterprises in southwest Nigeria for better business production.

THE STUDY OF THE IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND INNOVATION STRATEGY ON BUSINESS PERFORMANCE OF ENTERPRISES

This study constructed a core conceptual framework by introducing the following demographic variables: gender and age, organizational culture, innovation strategy, and business performance. Attempting to analyze the differences in the mean values of the respondents' perceptions of the demographic variable groupings in each variable of organizational culture, innovation strategy, and business performance and the influence of the independent variables on the dependent variables, this study proposes research hypotheses and takes the case of the working employees of Company A. In the overall study of the working employees, a survey and research are carried out using the snowball sampling method. A total of 450 questionnaires are distributed in the study. Questionnaires were distributed, and 400 questionnaires were returned, of which 389 were valid.
 This study finds the specific embodiment of the company's organizational culture, innovation strategy, etc. in the subsequent development and change of the actual business performance. This study provides a reference basis for subsequent research by scholars, discusses the improvement and enhancement of future corporate management methods, and provides an outlook and suggestions for future related research.

An Analytical Study on Managerial Competencies and Business Performance of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs): A Value Chain Perspective from India

Farmer producer organizations (FPOs) act as an effective institutional mechanism in addressing the constraints of small holders in India. But only a very few FPOs are prospering in their life stages, demanding a need for competent managerial team to understand the business dynamics and improve the organization performance. Hence, the present study attempted to understand the relation between business competencies and financial performance of FPOs operating in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India mediated through business approach. A proportionate representative sample of 4 FPOs and 11 FPOs registered under cooperatives act and companies act, respectively, were selected randomly. Primary data from 50 % of managerial team of FPOs ( n = 94) and secondary data from audited financial reports from 2019–2020 to 2021–2022 were obtained. The major findings of the study showed that business competencies and financial performance of market-centric approached FPOs are significantly higher over production-centric FPOs. A strong and significant correlation existed between competencies and performances. Variables namely education, business exposure, leadership role in community-based organizations and digital media exposure showed moderate correlation with various competency spheres. Due to relatively higher level of these factors in the respondents of market-centric approached FPOs over their counterparts, they possessed comparatively higher business competencies and as such identified business opportunities on the upstream value chain (market-centric) and accordingly showed better financial performance over the FPOs that identified opportunities on the downstream value chain (production-centric). Thus, a strong relationship existed between business approach, business competencies and financial performance.

Adhocracy and Business Performance in Nigeria

This paper explored the relationship between adhocracy culture and business performance in Nigeria. Related literature was reviewed in which key elements, including autonomy, experimentation, decentralization, employee empowerment, and collaboration, were examined. These studies emphasized how these elements contribute to organizational performance. The study further highlighted the importance of various dimensions of business performance in Nigeria, such as financial performance, market share, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, innovation, and employee engagement, for assessing the country's economic growth. It was discovered from the reviews that adhocracy culture positively influences innovation, employee engagement, organizational agility, collaboration, and talent attraction and retention. Empirical evidence from various studies in Nigeria is cited to support these claims, showcasing the beneficial outcomes of adhocracy culture on performance indicators across different industries. The findings of this research affirm that adhocracy culture plays a pivotal role in shaping the business performance of Nigerian organizations. The implications extend to business practices, urging organizations to foster an adhocracy culture that embraces flexibility, experimentation, and continuous learning. This culturaltransformation will position Nigerian businesses for success in the ever-evolving and competitive landscape of the country's economy. Understanding the drivers of organizational business performance from the human capital perspective

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to understand the drivers of organizational business performance from the perspective of human capital. Data were collected from 691 employees working in 15 North American credit unions. The model was developed and tested by means of the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling technique. This study illuminates an underexplored mechanism driving the association between transformational leadership and business performance based on several theoretical frameworks such as leader–member exchange theory, the conservation of resources theory, the heuristic model of employee turnover, equity theory, and capital‐based view. The findings indicate that transformational leaders provide their subordinates with constructive feedback and offer training and development (T&D) opportunities, which are the key factors driving employee job satisfaction. Employee job satisfaction curtails turnover intention, which, in turn, reduces human capital outflow and, consequently, increases business performance. Managers should always act as true transformational leaders and provide their subordinates with relevant performance feedback and ample T&D opportunities. Workers who undergo T&D at the expense of their organization become more loyal and are less likely to leave even though they become more marketable. Organizations are recommended to administer periodic employee satisfaction surveys and prevent the exodus of human capital, which may be difficult to replenish.

Investigation of the role of individual creativity of employees in the relationship of learning organization and business performance

This study aims to examine the role of individual creativity of employees in the relationship between the learning organization and business performance. Quantitative patterned research methods were used in the study. A survey method was used to collect first-hand data. The research sample consists of a group of 301 employees operating in various sectors and working in different positions in the province of Istanbul, Turkey. The questionnaire consists of appropriate scales to measure learning organization characteristics, individual creativity and business performance. Data analysis was carried out using statistical methods and regression analysis via SPSS 2.0 statistical program. Findings show that learning organization characteristics positively affect the individual creativity role of employees. In addition, it has been revealed that the individual creativity level of the employees has a positive relationship with the business performance. The mediating effect of the individual creativity variable in the relationship between the learning organization and the job performance has also been found. These findings highlight that the learning organization is an effective strategy in increasing business performance and that the individual creativity of employees is a critical factor in this process.

NETWORK PROGRAMMABILITY FOR NETWORK ISSUE USING PARAMIKO LIBRARY

In a company, information technology is needed, especially computer networks, to facilitate data communication. The management of a computer network, of course, requires good administration. The criteria for whether or not a network is good can be seen from the performance, reliability, and security indicators so that it will not cause network issues. Events such as server downs, data loss, lost connections, and undetected computers cause the organization's business performance to be disrupted. This study's purpose is to detect network issues with network programmability technology automatically. Paramiko library supports network automation systems and implements OSPF routing protocol in finding the shortest path to send network packets. This study uses the PPDIOO flow, namely prepare, plan, design, implement, operate, and optimize, because it is considered by the flow of making network detection tools. The results showed that the design and implementation of a small-scale network were successfully built by utilizing network programmability technology and the paramiko library, which helps detect network conditions at any time. This design has a dashboard, provisioning, assurance, and policy features that allow administrators to manage and monitor information on each network device. The network design is fitted with REST-API technology and security through a secure shell (ssh) from the Network Controller that can detect the device's connection conditions and the device's health and update the DNS configuration used. Network Issues that have been seen are devices being down, and the connection being lost. Future research can improve features for network troubleshooting when the connection is lost.

Organisational Culture and Business Performance in Harmony Ventures and Supplies Limited, Ilorin, Nigeria

Organisational culture is the common assumption, belief and natural norm in the workplace. Therefore, understanding this concept is so fundamental to the knowledge of what is going on in the workplace as culture has a powerful impact on any establishment’s innovativeness and long-term effectiveness. This study therefore examined the relationship between organisational culture and business performance in Harmony Ventures and Supplies Limited, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The research instrument adopted for the study was structured questionnaire, while Pearson Product Moment correlation inferential statistical method was applied for the data analysis of 252 respondents who completed the questionnaire. Findings of the study showed a significant relationship between clan culture and workplace’s effectiveness (r = .754, p < 0.05). It was also indicated that there was positive and significant relationship between the adhocracy culture and workplace’s effectiveness (r = .754, p < 0.05) in the study area. The study therefore recommended re-shaping of the organisation’s corporate culture in coherence with its strategy and structure. This is by ensuring a pleasant organisational image and concentration more on the adherence of the adhocracy culture.

Pengaruh Kapabilitas Organisasi Terhadap Kinerja Bisnis (Studi Pada PT. Sanjaya Rezeki Mas Karawang)

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of organizational capabilities on the business performance of PT Senjaya Rejeki Mas Karawang. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification analysis with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used in this research is simple random sampling. The number of samples used were 114 respondents. The data analysis technique used is a simple regression analysis technique with the help of the SPSS version 18 application. The results of this study indicate that the organizational capabilities and business performance of PT Senjaya Rejeki Mas Karawang are currently good. And verifiably the results of this study show that organizational capability has a positive and significant effect on the business performance of PT Senjaya Rejeki Mas Karawang by 73.5%. While the remaining 26.5% comes from other factors not examined.

THE INFLUENCE OF KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND NON-PHYSICAL WORK-ENVIRONMENT ON BUSINESS PERFORMANCE OF TOFU PRODUCING MSMEs IN SUMEDANG

The development of times and technology has driven the business ecosystem to become more dynamic. The ease of carrying out operations and business activities is a great opportunity for companies and entrepreneurs. A sustainable strategy is needed to ensure the long-term sustainability of business activities. The findings from this study are expected to determine whether there is influence of knowledge management, non-physical work environment, and organizational culture on business performance in the MSME industrial sector. From the results of this study, as for what the authors can conclude from several discussions, partially there is a significant influence and a very low relationship between Knowledge Management (X1) on Business Performance (Y), which is equal to 0.0650 or 6.5%, between Work Environment (X2) and Business Performance (Y), which is 0.0936 or 9.36%, between Organizational Culture (X3) and Business Performance (Y), which is 0.1705 or 17.05%. Simultaneously there is a significant influence and a strong relationship between Knowledge Management (X1), Non-Physical Work Environment (X2) and Organizational Culture (X3) on Business Performance (Y) with a contribution of 0.701 or 70.1%, and the rest has an influence other factors that can affect business performance is equal to 29.9%.

A study on Gender Differences in the Performance of Leadership Traits in Chinese Internet Promotion Service Industry

Today, with the rapid development of China's economy, leadership is an important factor in promoting the progress of enterprises. And leadership traits accompanied by the complexity of gender differences further affect organizational climate and business performance. In the traditional concept, men are more inclined to be leaders because they have some stereotyped leadership traits that people think leaders should have, but with the advance of modernization in open innovation, this stereotyped impression has gradually changed. Many modern scholars with open and innovative thinking believe that the characteristics of masculinity are no longer applicable to the contemporary market and working environment, but feminization and neutralization are more welcomed by most employees. The purpose of this survey is to clarify the performance of leadership traits reflected in gender differences among personnel in the Internet promotion service industry in Guangdong Province, China. This includes comparing the leadership traits of the physiological and psychological gender self-assessment of all participants (leaders and non-leaders) and all leaders. Here, Independent-Samples T-Test and One-Way ANOVA in SPSS are implemented in data analysis. The results show that about 1/3 of the 34 leadership traits were significantly different in physiological gender, but few traits were significantly different in psychological gender.

Analysis of Maturity Level Concerning Alignment of Information Technology Strategy and Business Strategy Using Luftman Model

Alignment of business strategy and IT organization is the key to realizing IT benefits for businesses. The gap between the IT strategy and the business strategy will have an impact on the organization's business performance, especially if the organization relies on IT in its business operations or makes IT one of its selling points. Raden Fatah Palembang State Islamic University as one of the institutions of college sees IT as a mandatory requirement to build competence and capability in the framework of competition in its area. Based on these requirements, the alignment of business and IT strategy is aligned with Raden Fatah Palembang State Islamic University using the Luftman SAMM (Strategic Alignment Maturity Model) model. Currently Raden Fatah Palembang State Islamic University has a value of alignment strategy that is in level 4 (Initial), where at that level, the alignment strategy is still missing or not implemented.

Market-based organizational learning, pricing capability and business performance: the moderating effects of coordination mechanism and environmental dynamism

Purpose This study aims to present a conceptual framework for understanding the dual orientations of market-based organizational learning (MBOL), namely, market orientation (MO) and learning orientation (LO), in the development of pricing capability (PC) with the goal of improving business performance (BP). This framework further explores the moderating effects of coordination mechanism (CM) and environmental dynamism (ED) on the PC–BP link and the mediating role of PC on the relationship between MBOL and BP. Design/methodology/approach This study applied the partial least squares structural equation modeling on survey data from 298 Indian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in manufacturing and service sectors. Findings The findings indicate that MBOL significantly contributes to PC development, which in turn improves BP. Interestingly, PC acts as a partial mediator in the MO–BP link, as well as LO–BP link. Moreover, CM and ED strengthen the effect of PC on BP. Finally, MO and LO have substantial and distinct effects on PC and BP. Research limitations/implications This study examines only one market-related capability, i.e. PC, considers multi-industry SMEs rather than specific large industries and uses cross-sectional instead of longitudinal data. Practical implications These findings are crucial from managerial standpoints because SMEs need to understand the MBOL dimensions, including MO and LO, and their significance in improving PC and BP. Originality/value Understanding how MBOL adoption contributes to superior performance is critical, but research in the SMEs context is still lacking. This study addresses a research gap by examining the impact of MBOL on BP, both directly and indirectly, through PC in the context of SMEs.

Analysis of Management Competencies in the Textile Sector and the Relation with Organizational Performance in the State of Tlaxcala, México

The textile sector in Mexico is crucial for the economy at the national level, it is in the tenth position among the most important manufacturing economic activities in our country, generating industrial growth because it has a link with other productive industries such as the automotive, aeronautical, furniture, among others in accordance with INEGI 2020. This branch is essential due to being a source of employment and economic growth, for this reason it is necessary to examine the aptitude with which managers refer to face the complex conditions in the environment, it is necessary to take into account research on SMEs that allow knowing the characteristics and development of these, through the measurement of management skills in order to have indicators that make it possible to make decisions to support the entrepreneurial culture of the country. Therefore, this research aims to characterize the relationship between managerial competencies as a strategic factor in organizational performance in small and medium-sized companies in the textile sector in the manufacture of wide fabrics and weft fabrics in the state of Tlaxcala to design improvement strategies. The indicators that were taken were leadership, communication, strategic action, development of people, administrative processes, and results orientation for management competencies and in the case of organizational performance, financial performance, business performance and organizational effectiveness were taken as indicators. This study is oriented to a sample of 12 SMEs located in the municipalities of; Santa, Apetatitlán, Contla, Tetla, Ixtacuixtla, San Marcos, Panotla, Zacatelco, Hueyotlipan y Panzacola. A questionnaire on managerial competencies was applied to human resources managers who had a similar rank, to find out how they perceive the managerial competencies of senior managers within the organization and the second questionnaire on organizational performance was applied to the managers of the sector under study. Where it is required that the subjects have information on the subject under study, being only owners, directors, or managers of the companies. The questionnaires have been validated by Psico Consult A.C., SERVIR in the case of management competencies, in the case of organizational performance by Vasconcelos (2017) and a pilot test. The results were able to determine that there is a moderate positive correlation, but the most critical variables must be considered: effective communication and people development, which shows that companies in the textile sector prevail orientation towards results and administrative processes.

USE OF INTEGRATED MCDM APPROACH FOR THE SELECTION OF LEAN TOOLS TO IMPROVE THE ORGANIZATIONAL-BUSINESS PERFORMANCE

There are numerous strategies and concepts that management can use in order to improve the organizational business performance of companies in modern business conditions. Research shows that one of the most prevalent principles in the past few years is the use of Lean tools, which enable managers to continuously improve their business. Since in most cases the problem of choosing Lean tools is solved through experience, the paper proposes the application of an integrated multi-criteria approach for decision-making. The evaluation of the relative importance of the criteria was performed using the AHP method, while the selection of the most suitable Lean tool was carried out using the ELECTRE method, the PROMETHEE method and the Compromise Programming method, using specially developed software for that purpose. The aim of this paper is to point out the importance and quality of the application of the proposed model in real and modern conditions of business and organization.

Knowledge Sharing, Organizational Learning Capability, Open Innovation, and Business Performance: Evidence from Food and Beverage SMEs in Indonesia

The Covid 19 pandemic has made the business performance of the food and beverage industry decline. Therefore, innovation becomes very important to improve business performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of knowledge sharing and organizational learning capability on open innovation and its impact on SMEs’ business performance in the Context of the Food and Beverage SMEs. The objects in this study were employees in the food and beverage industry in Bogor. The number of questionnaires collected were 237 questionnaires. Therefore, the samples in the study were 237 Employees. The data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Modeling with the help of Amos software Version 23. The results show that knowledge sharing has a positive and significant effect on organizational learning capability, and knowledge sharing has a positive and significant effect on open innovation. Knowledge sharing and organizational learning capability have a positive and significant effect on open innovation. Knowledge sharing, organizational learning capability, and open innovation have a positive and significant impact on business performance. These findings of the results have important implications in the literature about the antecedent of SMEs’ performance that has not been previously tested. We suggest to the business owner in the Food and Beverage SMEs in Bogor to enhance the knowledge sharing practice, organizational learning capability, and open innovation to achieve good business performance.

How Does Ecological Organizational Innovation Affect Performance? Konya Automotive Sub-Industry Business Cluster Survey

Ekolojik örgütsel yenilik işletmelerde yeni ve güncel bir yenilik türü olarak dinamik işletme yapılarının gelecek kaygıları bağlamında ele alınan bir konu olmaktadır. İşletme performansı ise işletmelerin başarı ölçütlerini belirleyen bütünsel sistemdir. Kavramsal incelemelerin ardından “Ekolojik örgütsel yenilik performansı nasıl etkiliyor?” temel araştırma sorusuna yanıt aranmaktadır. Çalışmada, işletmelerde ekolojik örgütsel yenilik ile işletme performansı arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma görgül araştırma niteliğindedir. Bu araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak anket tekniği kullanılmıştır. Basit tesadüfi yöntemle belirlenen Konya Otomotiv Yan Sanayi İş Kümesi çalışanlarından 148 geri dönüş elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen geri dönüşlere bağlı olarak analizler yapılmıştır. Yapılan regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre ekolojik örgütsel yeniliğin işletme performansı üzerine etki ettiği görülmüştür.

ERP Quality and the Organizational Performance: Technical Characteristics vs. Information and Service

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems have become the most important tool for integrating businesses and achieving the “once only” principle in data entry, which contributes to resource efficiency, the enhancement of numerous organizational processes and capabilities, and, ultimately, improved business performance. In this study, we examine the ERP system’s quality as the company’s dynamic capability, contributing to business performance according to the dynamic capability perspective. Thus, we incorporate theoretical mechanisms into the model of the ERP system’s dimensions as a function of financial and non-financial organizational performance. We hypothesized that companies with a better ERP system, with all three dimensions, information, system, and services, will achieve better non-financial and financial performance. The model was tested using primary data collected using a survey method in the environment of a developing country, where the digital transformation of companies is still at a lower level. Structural equation modeling was employed for data analysis, and the results suggest a positive relationship between ERP system quality and both types of organizational business performance. The results indicate that not all dimensions have the same effect. The quality of information and service is particularly important for business performance until the system’s technical characteristics have no significant effect.
