Topological Exciton Polaritons in Compact Perovskite Junction Metasurfaces

AbstractExciton polaritons are hybrid light‐matter quasi‐particles that hold exceptional opportunities for future optoelectronic devices. Taking the synergic advantages of room‐temperature perovskite excitons and topological photonic structures, topological exciton‐polaritons are experimentally demonstrated in organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite thin films. Topological junction structures based on perovskite gratings are realized using a momentum‐space analog of the 1D Dirac system. Desired enhancement phenomena are observed including narrow‐beam polariton emission from a tightly localized junction region, polaritonic nonlinearity boost, and enhanced luminescence. These remarkable features are obtained from highly compact devices with footprint widths on the order of a few micrometers and are efficiently tailorable with simple unit‐cell geometry control. Therefore, the proposed approach can be a powerful platform for room‐temperature topological exciton‐polaritons and concomitant device applications.

Organic Ligand Engineering for Tailoring Electron-Phonon Coupling in 2D Hybrid Perovskites.

In the emerging two-dimensional organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites, the electronic structures and carrier behaviors are strongly impacted by intrinsic electron-phonon interactions, which have received inadequate attention. In this study, we report an intriguing phenomenon of negative carrier diffusion induced by electron-phonon coupling in (2T)2PbI4. Theoretical calculations reveal that the electron-phonon coupling drives the band alignment in (2T)2PbI4 to alternate between type I and type II heterostructures. As a consequence, photoexcited holes undergo transitions between the organic ligands and inorganic layers, resulting in abnormal carrier transport behavior compared to other two-dimensional hybrid perovskites. These findings provide valuable insights into the role of electron-phonon coupling in shaping the band alignments and carrier behaviors in two-dimensional hybrid perovskites. They also open up exciting avenues for designing and fabricating functional semiconductor heterostructures with tailored properties.

Performance and stability of hybrid organic-inorganic Perovskite Photovoltaics in Outdoor Illuminations Conditions

Abstract In this work, we conducted real-world outdoor performance and stability test of two different perovskite solar cell configurations in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia climate conditions. The first device has a mesoporous n-i-p configurations. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of this device measured under outdoor illumination, at an incident power of 69 mW/cm2, is observed to be 15% for active area of 0.1 cm2. The maximum power generated measured (at a solar irradiance of 72 mW/cm2) was 1.23 mW. The second perovskite device has planar p-i-n configuration. This device has a PCE of 18% without masking, but drops to 11% when the device is covered with circular aperture mask. Maximum power tracking and stability measurements of the device have been carried out. Maximum power can be generated at operating voltage in the range of 0.8 V-1.2 V for a device with an active area of 0.095 - 0.1cm2. The device maintains more than 90% of its PCE after 30 days of environmental exposure.

Anion Binding Interaction Enhances the Robustness of Iodide for High-Performance Perovskite Solar Cells.

Owing to the ionic bond nature of the Pb-I bond, the iodide at the interface of perovskite polycrystalline films was easily lost during the preparation process, resulting in the formation of a large number of iodine vacancy defects. The presence of iodine vacancy defects can cause nonradiative recombination, provide a pathway for iodide migration, and be harmful to the power conversion efficiency (PCE) and stability of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (HPSCs). Here, in order to increase the robustness of iodides at the interface, a strategy to introduce anion binding effects was developed to stabilize the perovskite films. It was demonstrated that the N,N'-diphenylurea (DPU), characterized by high anionic binding constants and a Y-shaped structure, provides a relatively strong hydrogen bond donor site to effectively reduce the iodine loss during film preparation and inhibits iodide migration in the device working condition. As expected, the reduced iodine loss considerably improves the quality of the perovskite films and suppresses nonradiative recombination. The performance of the device after DPU modification was significantly increased, with the PCE rising from 23.65 to 25.01% with huge stability enhancement as well.

Template-Confined Oriented Perovskite Nanowire Arrays Enable Polarization Detection and Imaging.

Polarized light detection can effectively identify the difference between the polarization information on the target and the background, which is of great significance for detection in complex natural environments and/or extreme weather. Generally, polarized light detection inevitably relies on anisotropic structures of photodetector devices, while organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites are ideal for anisotropic patterning due to their simple and efficient preparation by solution method. Compared to patterned thin films, patterned arrays of aligned one-dimensional (1D) perovskite nanowires (PNWAs) have fewer grain boundaries and lower defect densities, making them well suited for high-performance polarization-sensitive photodetectors. Here, we fabricated PNWAs crystallographically aligned with variable line widths and alignment densities employing CD-ROM and DVD-ROM grating pattern template-confined growth (TCG) methods. The photodetectors constructed from MAPbI3 PNWAs achieved responsivity of 35.01 A/W, detectivity of 6.85 × 1013 Jones, and fast response with a rise time of 172 μs and fall time of 114 μs. They were successfully applied to high-performance polarization detection with a polarization ratio of 1.81, potentially applicable in polarized light detection systems.

Effect of Dual-Organic Cations on the Structure and Properties of 2D Hybrid Perovskites as Scintillators.

Two-dimensional (2D) hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite (HOIP) crystals show promise as scintillating materials for wide-energy radiation detection, outperforming their three-dimensional counterparts. In this study, we synthesized single crystals of (PEA2-xBZAx)PbBr4 (x ranging from 0.1 to 2), utilizing phenethylammonium (C6H5CH2CH2NH3+) and benzylammonium (C6H5CH2NH3+) cations. These materials exhibit favorable optical and scintillation properties, rendering them suitable for high light yield (LY) and fast-response scintillators. Our investigation, employing various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL), time-resolved (TR) PL, Raman spectroscopy, radioluminescence (RL), thermoluminescence (TL), and scintillation measurements, unveiled lattice strain induced by dual-organic cations in powder X-ray diffraction. Density functional theory analysis demonstrated a maximal 0.13 eV increase in the band gap with the addition of BZA cation addition. Notably, the largest Stokes shift of 0.06 eV was observed in (BZA)2PbBr4. The dual-organic cation crystals displayed >80% fast component scintillation decay time, which is advantageous for the scintillating process. Furthermore, we observed a dual-organic cations-induced enhancement of electron-hole transfer efficiency by up to 60%, with a contribution of >70% to the fast component of scintillation decay. The crystal with the lowest BZA concentration, (PEA1.9BZA0.1)PbBr4, demonstrated the highest LYs of 14.9 ± 1.5 ph/keV at room temperature. Despite a 55-70% decrease in LY for BZA concentrations >5%, simultaneous reductions in scintillation decay time (12-32%) may work for time-of-flight positron emission tomography and photon-counting computed tomography. Our work underscores the crucial role of dual-organic cations in advancing our understanding of 2D-HOIP crystals for materials science and radiation detection applications.

High-Quality Data Enabling Universality of Band Gap Descriptor and Discovery of Photovoltaic Perovskites.

Extensive machine-learning-assisted research has been dedicated to predicting band gaps for perovskites, driven by their immense potential in photovoltaics. Yet, the effectiveness is often hampered by the lack of high-quality band gap data sets, particularly for perovskites involving d orbitals. In this work, we consistently calculate a large data set of band gaps with a high level of accuracy, which is rigorously validated by experimental and state-of-the-art GW band gaps. Leveraging this achievement, our machine-learning-derived descriptor exhibits exceptional universality and robustness, proving effectiveness not only for single and double, halide and oxide perovskites regardless of the underlying atomic structures but also for hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites. With this approach, we comprehensively explore up to 15,659 materials, unveiling 14 unreported lead-free perovskites with suitable band gaps for photovoltaics. Notably, MASnBr3, FA2SnGeBr6, MA2AuAuBr6, FA2AuAuBr6, FA2InBiCl6, FA2InBiBr6, and Ba2InBiO6 stand out with direct band gaps, small effective masses, low exciton binding energies, and high stabilities.

Coupling of the Structure and Magnetism to Spin Splitting in Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Perovskites.

Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites are famous for the diversity of their chemical compositions, phases, phase transitions, and associated physical properties. We use a combination of experimental and computational techniques to reveal a strong coupling between structure, magnetism, and spin splitting in a representative of the largest family of hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites: the formates. With the help of first-principles simulations, we find spin splitting in both conduction and valence bands of [NH2NH3]Co(HCOO)3 induced by spin-orbit interactions, which can reach up to 14 meV. Our magnetic measurements reveal that this material exhibits canted antiferromagnetism below 15.5 K. The direction of the associated antiferromagnetic order parameter is strongly coupled with spin splitting in the centrosymmetric phase, allowing for the creation and annihilation of spin splitting through the application of a magnetic field. Furthermore, the structural phase transition to the experimentally observed polar Pna21 phase completely changes the aforementioned spin splitting and its coupling to magnetic degrees of freedom. This reveals that in [NH2NH3]Co(HCOO)3, the structure and magnetism are strongly coupled to spin splitting and can be manipulated through electric and magnetic fields. We believe that our findings offer an important step toward a fundamental understanding and practical applications of materials with coupled properties.

Dipoles with donor-π-acceptor structure inhibit ion migration to improve the efficiency and stability of inverted perovskite solar cells

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites (PVK) have aroused big enthusiasm of many researchers due to their excellent photoelectric properties. However, PVK films always inevitability demonstrate large number of defects, thus greatly affect the performance and stability of the device. Many parts of the defects are aroused from ion migrations because of the weak antibonding between Pb and I. Here, we use 4-Amino-3,5-difluorobenzonitrile (AFBN) to regulate the light-absorbing layer of perovskite films. The AFBN molecules with donor-π-acceptor (D-π-A) structure can simultaneously interact with MA+/Pb2+ cations and I- anions in PVK, which can validly inhibit ion migration and effectively restrain non-radiative recombination, thus improves the photoelectric performance of inverted perovskite solar cells (i-PSCs). The AFBN-based device achieved a champion efficiency of 18.55 %, which is a high PCE for inverted PSCs with simple structure of FTO/NiOx/perovskite/PCBM/BCP/Ag and for devices with relatively high band gap of 1.62 eV, while the control one only shows an efficiency of 16.37 %. Meanwhile, the modified devices demonstrate excellent humidity stability. This work provides a new path for dipoles with donor-π-acceptor structure to inhibit ion migrations for improved efficiency and stability of reverse PSCs.

Maximizing photovoltaic performance of all-inorganic perovskite CsSnI3-xBrx solar cells through bandgap grading and material design

In the modern era of technology, worldwide paradigms have been shifted toward the utilization of green energy. Sun energy is the most astonishing eco-friendly resource of energy and can be harnessed with the help of photovoltaic cells. Hybrid (Organic-Inorganic) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are emerged with incredible photovoltaic (PV) performance. Nevertheless, a significant challenge lies in their lower stability under diverse environmental conditions. To deal with this challenge, all inorganic cesium-based PSC has been studied and analyzed, results improved stability in comparison to hybrid PSC. However, the noxious nature of lead is deleterious to the environment. So, this work primarily aimed, to study lead-free all inorganic tin-based perovskite compound CsSnI3-xBrx, as the main light absorber layer. Further, to elevate the PV performance of PSC, bandgap grading is performed on CsSnI3-xBrx by varying bromide concentration x from 0 to 3. Bandgap grading encourages the absorption of a wide range of the light spectrum, by modulating bandgap (Eg) / affinity(χ) through the distance of the CsSnI3-xBrx layer. Additionally, it enhances light-generated charge carrier separation and collection by end electrodes. In this work, two different strategies have been adopted, linear and parabolic. During linear grading, the impact of variation in x (0 to 3) has been analyzed over the thickness 50–––500 nm in 10 linear steps for CsSnI3-xBrx. The highest PCE fetched from linearly graded layered FTO / CeO2 / CsSnI3-xBrx / CFTS / Gold PSC is 21.68 %. Similarly, in the parabolic graded absorber layer, the influence of change in the bowing factor (0 to 1), has been analyzed relative to different values of x (0 to 3). With improvement in PV performance, the maximum PCE delivered by parabolic-graded PSC is 23.61 %. Additionally, this work extends to check the compatibility of distinct electron transport layers (ETLs) and hole transport layers (HTLs). Upon analysis, it has been found that the best PV performance was obtained while selecting SnO2 / PEDOT as ETL / HTL respectively.

Fluorinated hole transport material resistant to high annealing temperature applied in inverted perovskites solar cells

A dopant-free and low-cost hole transport material (HTM) with dibenzo[b,d]thiophene as the center unit, bis(4-methoxyphenyl)amine as the terminal unit, and fluorine substitution adjacent to the methoxyl (named DBT-4F-MOP) is designed and applied in inverted organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (OIH-PSCs). The synthetic cost of DBT-4F-MOP in the lab is just as low as 115 CNY/g, which is much lower than the benchmark HTM poly[bis(4-phenyl)(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)amine] (PTAA, 2500 CNY/g). Due to the introduction of the fluorine atoms, the annealing temperature of the HTM can be increased by over 150 ℃. The highest efficiency of the inverted device based on it can reach 16.8%, with an open circuit voltage of 1.04V, a short circuit current of 21.57mAcm-2, and a fill factor of 74.69%, while the reference device based on PTAA can reach a PCE of 17.54%. This work provides an avenue for the design of low-cost, dopant-free, and high-annealing temperature HTMs for inverted OIH-PSCs.

The self-healing and robust photostability of (PEA)2PbI4 perovskite via pressure-induced amorphization and recrystallization

The photostability of hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites (HOIPs) is an important criterion due to unavoidability of light in photoelectric elements of solar cells, light emitting diodes (LEDs) or photo detectors. This research aims to explore the photostability of a compressed two-dimensional (2D) (PEA)2PbI4 crystal. The structural and compositional responses of the sample to laser illumination under pressure were recorded via in-situ photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and morphological analysis methods. The enhancement in laser endurance limit from 3 to 11 mW and long-duration photostablity were achieved along with structural self-healing in the recrystallized (PEA)2PbI4 sample. The robust stability of the material was ascribed to pressure-induced suppression of the nonradiative decay and grain boundary minimization in the rebirthed crystal. A similar result was also obtained in compressed (BA)2PbI4 and MAPbI3 crystals. Therefore, high pressure offers an effective and green method to improve the photostability of HOIP crystals and has a profound significance in the widespread application of HOIP-based photoelectric devices.

A Lead-Free Ferroelectric 2D Dion-Jacobson Tin Iodide Perovskite.

Two-dimensional (2D) hybrid organic-inorganic halide perovskites have emerged as a new class of 2D semiconductors with the potential to combine excellent optoelectronic properties with symmetry-enabled properties such as ferroelectricity. Although many lead-based ferroelectric 2D halide perovskites have been reported, there is yet to be a conclusive report of ferroelectricity in tin-based 2D perovskites. Here, we report the structures and properties of a new series of 2D Dion-Jacobson (DJ) Sn perovskites: (4AMP)SnI4, (4AMP)(MA)Sn2I7, and (4AMP)(FA)Sn2I7 (4AMP = 4-(aminomethyl)piperidinium, MA = methylammonium, and FA = formamidinium). Structural characterization reveals that (4AMP)SnI4 is polar with in-plane spontaneous polarization whereas (4AMP)(MA)Sn2I7 and (4AMP)(FA)Sn2I7 are centrosymmetric. Furthermore, (4AMP)SnI4 displays second harmonic generation (SHG) and polarization-electric field hysteresis measurements confirm it is ferroelectric with a spontaneous polarization of 10.0 µC cm-2 at room temperature. (4AMP)SnI4 transitions into a centrosymmetric structure above 367 K. As the first direct experimnetal observation of the spontaneous ferroelectric polarization of a Sn-based 2D hybrid perovskite, this work opens up environmentally friendly 2D tin halide perovskites for ferroelectricity and other physical property studies. Effects of valence changes of iodine on perovskite (CH3NH3PbI3) Raman

In recent years, organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite materials have garnered extensive attention from scholars. Given its high absorption coefficient, carrier mobility, and diffusion length, it is widely studied for applications in various optoelectronic devices, such as solar cells, photodetectors, field-effect transistors, and light emitting diodes. Among them, the interfacial charge transfer process is a key factor influencing the performance of devices using perovskite materials. The charge transfer (CT) at the interface is typically detected via Raman spectroscopy. There are three types of related CT processes, namely, the interfacial ground state charge transfer, the photoinduced charge transfer resonance, and the electronic excitation resonance within the molecule itself. Among these factors, electronic excitation resonance manifests as an exciton resonance within the perovskite structure, providing energy for nearby charge transfer, thereby promoting charge transfer and enhancing Raman signals. Therefore, enhancing exciton resonance within the perovskite structure plays a crucial role in optoelectronic devices. This paper aimed to study the mechanism of oxygen plasma passivation of interstitial iodine defects and its enhancement effect on the Raman of perovskite substrates. Typically, interstitial iodine defects induce electron–hole recombination. In the process of oxygen plasma treatment, interstitial iodine is converted into pentavalent iodine, which can effectively fill related defects, inhibit electron–hole recombination, and prolong exciton lifetime, thereby promoting charge transfer and enhancing Raman intensity.

Elucidating Interfacial Hole Extraction and Recombination Kinetics in Perovskite Thin Films

Hybrid organic–inorganic perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are receiving huge attention owing to their marvelous advantages, such as low cost, high efficiency, and superior optoelectronics characteristics. Despite their promising potential, charge-carrier dynamics at the interfaces are still ambiguous, causing carrier recombination and hindering carrier transport, thus lowering the open-circuit voltages (Voc) of PSCs. To unveil this ambiguous phenomenon, we intensively performed various optoelectronic measurements to investigate the impact of interfacial charge-carrier dynamics of PSCs under various light intensities. This is because the charge density can exhibit different mobility and charge transport properties depending on the characteristics of the charge transport layers. We explored the influence of the hole transport layer (HTL) by investigating charge transport properties using photoluminescence (PL) and time-resolved (TRPL) to unveil interfacial recombination phenomena and optoelectronic characteristics. We specifically investigated the impact of various thicknesses of HTLs, such as 2,2′,7,7′-tetrakis[N,N-di(4-methoxyphenyl)amino]-9,9′-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD), and poly(triaryl)amine (PTAA), on FA0.83MA0.17Pb(Br0.05I0.95)3 perovskite films. The HTLs are coated on perovskite film by altering the HTL’s concentration and using F4-TCNQ and 4-tert-butylpyridine (tBP) and lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSi) as dopants both for spiro-OMeTAD and PTAA. These HTLs diversified the charge concentration gradients in the absorption layer, thus leading to different recombination rates based on the employed laser intensities. At the same time, the generated charge carriers are rapidly transferred to the interface of the HTL/absorption layer and accumulate holes at the interface because of inefficient capacitance and mobility differences caused by differently doped HTL thicknesses. Notably, the charge concentration gradient is low at lower light intensities and did not accumulate holes at the HTL/absorption layer interface, even though they have high charge mobility. Therefore, this study highlights the importance of interfacial charge recombination and charge transport phenomena to achieve highly efficient and stable PSCs.

Monolithic integration of perovskite heterojunction on TFT backplanes through vapor deposition for sensitive and stable x-ray imaging.

Metal halide perovskites exhibit substantial potential for advancing next-generation x-ray detection. However, fabricating high-performance pixelated imaging arrays remains challenging due to the substantial dark current density and stability issues associated with common organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites. Here, we develop a vapor deposition method to create the first all-inorganic perovskite heterojunction film. The heterojunction introduction effectively reduces the dark current density of detectors to about 0.8 nA·cm-2, satisfying thin-film transistor (TFT) integration standards, while also increases sensitivity to above 2.6 × 104 μC·Gyair-1·cm-2, thus giving rise to a record low detection limit of <1 nGyair·s-1 among all polycrystalline perovskite-based x-ray detectors. The devices also demonstrate remarkable stability across multifarious demanding working conditions. Last, through monolithic integration of the heterojunction film with a 64 × 64 pixelated TFT array, we have achieved high-resolution real-time x-ray imaging, which paves the way for the application of all-inorganic perovskite in low-dose flat-panel x-ray detection.

Optimization of the ETL titanium dioxide layer for inorganic perovskite solar cells

Titanium dioxide layers are the most popular electron transport layer (ETL) in perovskite solar cells. However most studies focuses on mesoporous structure and application with organic–inorganic hybrid perovskite. In this study, the topic of ETL in planar structure of inorganic CsPbBr3 perovskite solar cells was tackled, the presented approach will reduce production costs and improve cell stability, which is the greatest drawback of perovskite cells especially organic–inorganic perovskite. The potential application of these technology are greenhouses and building integrated PV sector. Here, the two TiO2 precursors titanium(IV) ethoxide in ethanol and titanium(IV) bis(acetylacetonate) diisopropoxide (Tiacac) were investigated, optimized and compared. TiO2 layers were deposited on high roughness FTO, without the use of a mesoporous layer, by spin coating method. The correlation between stock solution concentration and thickness of manufactured layers was tracked for both precursors as well as their difference in morphology of the final films and other properties. In particular, conformality and optical properties are better for Tiacac. Slightly lower refractive index of Tiacac-based titania reduced the reflective losses from 7.3 to 6.9% effectively. The obtained layers were used for inorganic solar cells of CsPbBr3 perovskite to finally settle the issue of optimal thickness and precursor. It is interesting that despite the supremacy in investigated properties of commonly used of the precursor Tiacac, the results of the cells pointed to the Tieth. The efficiency of the champion cell is 6.08% for Tieth, while 5.62% is noted for Tiacac. Trying to figure out this riddle, we shed a new light on the phenomena going on the ETL/inorganic perovskite interface investigating nanoroughness.

The physical attributes of rubidium-based Rb2TlRhF6 double perovskite halide: A first-principles investigation

Rubidium cations (Rb+) significantly improve the overall performance of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite based devices and have gained exceptional attention due to their good thermal and structural stability. In this paper, we have evaluated the physical attributes of rubidium based Rb2TlRhF6 via DFT code using TB-mBJ potential. Structural stability has been confirmed through negative formation energy and calculated tolerance factor. Band structure and TDOS profile confirm semiconductor nature with 3.2 eV direct bandgap at (L-L) symmetry points. A ductile nature with metallic bonding is observed through the investigation of elastic attributes. Optical analysis of Rb2TlRhF6 indicates great absorption in the UV region. Low thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity, along with a high value for power factor, resulted in high ZT value of 0.8 and 800 K. The combined qualities provide a stunning and exciting picture of this compound for use in thermoelectric advanced technologies.

Research Progress on Rashba Effect in Two-Dimensional Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Lead Halide Perovskites.

The Rashba effect appears in the semiconductors with an inversion-asymmetric structure and strong spin-orbit coupling, which splits the spin-degenerated band into two sub-bands with opposite spin states. The Rashba effect can not only be used to regulate carrier relaxations, thereby improving the performance of photoelectric devices, but also used to expand the applications of semiconductors in spintronics. In this mini-review, recent research progress on the Rashba effect of two-dimensional (2D) organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites is summarized. The origin and magnitude of Rashba spin splitting, layer-dependent Rashba band splitting of 2D perovskites, the Rashba effect in 2D perovskite quantum dots, a 2D/3D perovskite composite, and 2D-perovskites-based van der Waals heterostructures are discussed. Moreover, applications of the 2D Rashba effect in circularly polarized light detection are reviewed. Finally, future research to modulate the Rashba strength in 2D perovskites is prospected, which is conceived to promote the optoelectronic and spintronic applications of 2D perovskites.

BDAPbI4 Dion Jacobson hybrid perovskite-based artificial nociceptors on biodegradable substrate

With the current evolution in artificial intelligence technology, biodegradable biomimetic devices are essential to execute increasingly complicated tasks and respond to challenging work environments. Consequently, the integration of artificial nociceptors holds considerable importance in enhancing the capabilities of humanoid robots. Low-dimensional Hybrid organic–inorganic Perovskites (HOIPs) show promise in emulating biological neurons owing to their inherent ion migration properties. In this work, we present Dion-Jacobson hybrid perovskite (BDAPbI4 (BDA=NH3C4H8NH3)) diffusive memristor on a paper substrate to serve as an artificial nociceptor. The symmetric electrode configuration as Paper/Ag/PCBM/BDAPbI4/PMMA/Ag demonstrates low operating voltage diffusive memristor with an ON/OFF ratio of ∼103. The surface investigation of device before top electrode deposition via X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy XPS and electrical characteristics of the complete device reveal the interplay between Schottky barrier at BDAPbI4/Ag interface and conductive filament formation/rupture within active layer as the origin of the abrupt resistive switching. The characteristics of the diffusive memristor resemble those of biological nociceptors, displaying sensitivity to external stimuli and key attributes such as threshold response, lack of adaptation, and relaxation. These findings underscore the potential application of Dion-Jacobson hybrid perovskites (BDAPbI4) as diffusive memristors in future neuromorphic intelligence systems.
