Purpose of the study: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of an original surgical technique for correcting apical prolapse in patients of reproductive, pre- and postmenopausal age.Patients and research methods: 29 patients aged from 32 to 76 years with apical prolapse stage II were examined and operated using a developed original technique using narrow ribbon-shaped titanium mesh implants .Results: Follow-up was carried out at 1, 6, 12 and 24 months after surgery. Comparison of patient survey indicators in the pre- and postoperative periods showed an improvement in the patients’ quality of life, an increase in their social and sexual activity.During the first month, 15 (51.7%) patients noted intermittent nagging pain in the perineal area and/or inguinal-femoral folds, 4 (13.8%) reported frequent urination. A dynamic comprehensive clinical examination revealed complete preservation of surgical correction of prolapse in all patients. Gynecological and rectal examinations, transperineal and transvaginal echography revealed no displacement of the pelvic organs and titanium implants. Mesh-associated complications were not recorded during the observation period. Conclusion: The effectiveness and safety of the developed original method of surgical correction of apical prolapse of the second degree using narrow ribbon-shaped mesh titanium implants in patients of various age groups has been demonstrated, as evidenced by the normalization of the position of the uterus in the pelvis and the absence of displacement of the pelvic organs in the immediate and long-term postoperative periods, as well as Mesh-associated complications during observation.
