The Modular Design and Analysis of Open CNC System Machine

According to the demanding of design and development about small 3 axes numerical control machine, three machine structure schemes were designed, the finite element method was used to analyze and optimize the machine structure, the movable gantry machine structure was decided as the ultimate scheme, the open numerical control system which includes NC program editing, tool path simulation, machine condition data displaying and computer aided process planning functions was developed in DELPHI language based on “PC+ motion controller” mode, the system modules can be customized by users, based on above all, the machine was assembled successfully.

A Method of Pitch Error Compensation for the Open Numerical Control System

The traditional fixed pitch error compensation method exists some defects, such as sampling points are not comprehensive and the necessary compensation points are easy to miss. Faced with these problems, this paper presented a new pitch error compensation method based on the open numerical control system. With this method, the traditional measurement points were serried, and more pitch error data were measured. Then calculated the error data with the cubic spline interpolation computation method, and the compensation location and value were obtained according to the accuracy requirement. The pitch error compensation was completed when the data inputted into the open numerical control system with a defined format.

Open CNC Machine Tool's State Data Acquisition and Application Based on OPC Specification

For open CNC machine tool, user can develop third-party software based on OPC specification. Besides, CNC machine tool produce massive state data in machining process, which real time reflect the states of the machine. In this paper, the structure of open numerical control system is introduced, then data acquisition and compression based on OPC specification is implemented, finally data mining of the status data and its application in the intelligent fault warning and diagnostic is proposed. This research is critical to realize the digit and smart factory.

Research of an Open CNC System of Machine Tool for Finding and Repairing Surface Damage on KDP Crystal

In order to find and repair surface damage on KDP crystal, an open computer numerical control(CNC) system has been developed. This paper introduces the hardware structure of the control system, explains the development of an open CNC system software, which has friendly human-machine interface (HMI) and can make the finding and repairing process efficiently and conveniently and also expounds the algorithm and related parameters for servo tuning. With the open CNC system, the process of finding surface damage is accomplished in 3 hours and clear images of crystal surface damage is taken by CCD. And also, with the help of the open CNC system, a 600µm-diameter, 25µm-depth Gaussian repair contour with low roughness is obtained. Experimental results prove that the open CNC system for finding and repairing surface damage on KDP crystal meets the requirement of efficient detection and ultra-precision machining.

Development and Research of Open CNC System Based on Motion Controller

A lab platform of Open Numerical Control System was designed to develop NC system based on PC and Motion Controller, a Master-Slave control system. The user interface application software was developed by C++ Builder and WINDOWS. It realized explanation and testing for bug function, data pretreatment function, NC code translation, NC simulation and execution, as well as motion controller function.

Research of an Open CNC System for MRF Machine Tool Based on UMAC

In order to use magnetorheological finishing (MRF) to accomplish ultra-precision machining of complex curve surfaces, an open computer numerical control (CNC) system based on universal motion and automation controller (UMAC) has been developed. The paper introduces the hardware structure of the system, elucidates the control algorithm and parameters tuning of PID + velocity/acceleration feed-forward + notch filter, and explains the design of a friendly human-machine interface (HMI) to satisfy the need of actual manufacturing and complicated numerical control. With the open CNC system, a 4mm-diameter circle is polished on the MRF experimental prototype with the contour error of 1.67% and the surface roughness Ra of 1.4nm. Experimental results prove that the open CNC system for the MRF machine tool meets the requirements of ultra-precision machining.

The Remote Monitoring Management and Fault Diagnosis System of the Distributed Open Numerical Control System

This paper presents the design scheme of monitoring management and fault diagnosis of open CNC system based on Internet, the system hardware structure introduces network technology three-tier monitoring mode based on field control layer and process monitoring control layer and remote fault diagnosis layer, the system software design includes CNC system management and monitoring and fault diagnosis. The paper integrates condition monitoring and fault diagnosis and expert system technology into CNC system monitoring and management, and analyzes the requirements of distributed numerical control system, and details description system model of remote monitoring and fault diagnosis system. The practice has proved that the system design of open remote monitoring and fault diagnosis is practicality and feasibility.

Developing and Research on Open Motion Controller Based on PC

With the development of modern manufacturing, it is obvious that traditional numerical control system is bad in compatibility and is expanded uneasily in function and is not flexible in human-machine interface. The open numerical control system has become the research mainstream of numerical control technology. Therefore, the open motion controller based on PC is developed in the paper. In addition, the components and design method of system are introduced in detail.

The Develop of Automatic Jet Electroplating Machining Gear Tool

In order to solve the problem of automation electric plating gear surface, the numerical control electric plating machining tool was developed based on open numerical control system. The relative movement and velocity of anode nozzle was controlled by the motion control model. The selection of working solution and the continuous feeding liquid were achieved by use of the digital I/O module. The technological parameters, such as working current, the temperature of plating solution, PH value, and so on, were collected by the module of analog quantity acquisition and stored in the computer. Based on the preliminary experiments, the machine tool was reliable higher and the distribution of plating thickness on the tooth profile surface was uniform. The automatic electric plating technology was realized on the tooth profile surface.

An interpolation method for the open CNC system based on EPM

A typical open computer numerical control (CNC) system should own the capability of being redeveloped easily and effectively, and any improvements of interpolation algorithm or machining technique could be put into practice by users conveniently. However, this is not always available in the current open CNC systems. To solve this problem, an interpolation method based on external profile mode (EPM) is introduced to improve the universal- ity and the performance of an open CNC system in this paper. The method is realized with a rough interpolation in the PC host and a fine interpolation in the slave motion controller. With this method, various interpolation algo- rithms can be easily realized in the rough interpolation when machining complex contours. Meanwhile, the machining parameters during each interpolation cycle can be wholly determined by the host, so a real-time adjustment of ma- chining parameters can be accomplished during the interpo- lation. The working principal of EPM is presented in this paper, and the realization of interpolation algorithms with the proposed method is described. A look-ahead algorithm for determining the machining parameters of each segment is implemented based on the length of segments in the rough interpolation. An acceleration/deceleration strategy with confined jounce is proposed in the look-ahead algorithm. The experimental results of specific profile interpolation show that the interpolation method based on EPM can make the open CNC system more universality and high performance.

Research on Open Numerical Control System Based on Collaborative Design and Development

The characteristics of open CNC system and the current several open CNC system models are introduced in this paper. In order to overcome the contradiction between the frequent changes demand and the closure of the traditional system, the open CNC system software and hardware architectures were investigated based on web-collaborative design and development, which improve the system development efficiency. Using the Windows XP operating system as a software platform, the Visual C++ 6.0 object-oriented programming language is adopted to design the CNC drilling control software based on the "PC + NC" the model and modular co-design methods, which improve the openness of the CNC system.

The Research of Real-Time Trajectory Interpolation Based on Open Numerical Control System

This paper researches on Open Numerical Control System based on the PC platform, in which the motion controller works as the control core, can realize the multiaxis motion control in real time and the sequential logic control. This paper sets out from the hardware structure, use the Real-time trajectory interpolation algorithm, and choose the proper motion-control function. it can realize fast, stable and continuous movement with multistage path, and ensure that the system is open, real-time and reconfigurable.

Study on Open CNC Control System Based on GUC Motion Controller

This paper mainly focuses on designing an open CNC system. At first, the advantages and disadvantages of the three popular open numerical control technologies were discussed, and on the basis of demands analysis, this paper chose motion controller plus PC as the whole system model. Then, according to the system model, this article designed the hardware system for the control system, including choosing multi-axis motion control card, servo motors and their drivers. Thirdly, based on the features of this open numerical control system, the paper designed and put the software into three levels, namely low level of control software, mid-level of communication software, and high-level of management software respectively. Finally, in order to test the control performance of this open numerical control system, some experiments were carried out on a two-dimension motion platform, the results are satisfactory and error analysis on these experiments is also given out.

Study of Open Numerical Control System Based on DMC Motion Controller

An open numerical control system was built based on DMC movement controller. The system was simple and practical for most common CNC machine tools transform. The open numerical control system was introduced, the hardware connection and user interface program were designed combined with CA6140 lathe. The constructed CNC system has general functions of CNC system, the jog and interpolated motion can be realized, and this open control system can reach the requirements of customer. The experiments indicate that the open numerical control system can be applied to other machine tools, it has certain efficiency and usability.

Design Teaching Machine Tool of Open CNC System on PC

In this paper, we design the open numerical control system of PC based on embedded motion control card. This open NC teaching machine tool is not only for the removal to meet the teaching requirements of the mechanical design, but also allows users to define instructions, to convert CNC instructions to the control card built-in function on the PC; to export the control information to control machine tool axis movement. This greatly enhances the students’ interest, and helps them to faster formation of the core competencies of the CNC technology.

The Adaptive Compensation Method and Modeling of Gear Hobbing Machine Based on Numerical Control System

Thermal error is the main factor which affects the precision of gear hobbing. The paper discusses the individual feature of gear hobbing machine of thermal error, and uses the weighted grey correlativity to determine the key thermal error source of gear hobbing machine. Based on Least-square method, a fundamental model of thermal error compensation was constructed. An adaptive correction algorithm of thermal error compensation model on gear hobbing machine was proposed. An adaptive compensation method of thermal error on gear hobbing machine was given based on open numerical control system.

Research and Development on Miniature Teaching Computer Numerical Control Lathe Machine

An open double coordinates computer numerical control (CNC) system was developed, which was based on PC and PMAC motion controller card. A miniature and teaching CNC lathe machine was developed with a simple structure, low cost, small volume and suitability for teaching. The CNC system had the advantages of 2-axis linkage, program editing, manual operation, inching operation, simulation processing operation, automatic operation and dynamic display of the tracing. The system was based on the Windows XP platform. Its interface was friendly and it was convenient to manipulate.

Research and Development of Open Numerical Control System

Design and Experiment Research on Abrasive Water-jet Cutting Machine Based on Phased Intensifier

To solve the problem of water pressure fluctuation caused by the traditional double-acting intensifier, the paper has designed abrasive water-jet cutting machine based on phased intensifier as well as open numerical control system. The structure of cutting machine as well as the hardware structure and working principle of phased intensifier are introduced. The phased intensifier employs a constant pressure variable capacity pump to provide power, compressed air to push piston back, PLC to control working sequence of two pistons, making the structure of mechanism and control system to be simplified. Experimental research on several typical materials cut by water-jet cutting machine equipped with phased intensifier is conducted, which is valuable for design, manufacture and technological application of high pressure water equipment. It is practically proved that this system can work stably, with fluctuation rate of water pressure no more than 2.0%, as well as good cutting quality and high production efficiency.
