The scientific novelty consists in expanding the understanding of the need to modernize the document flow in state institutions of Ukraine, in particular in the city council, by analyzing the prospects of such innovations, detailing the internal processes of the electronic archive, and choosing a technological solution to the set goals. Conclusions. The transfer of state institutions to electronic archives will make it possible to speed up the processes of document circulation and save on the provision of physical archives. The implementation of online solutions for document management is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon because Ukraine is digitizing at a rapid pace, but problematic sectors remain, such as institutions in small towns and villages. The process of implementing electronic archives based on professional systems costs a lot of money, however, if the community does not have the necessary funds, it can be implemented completely free of charge with the help of Google Sheets. The system of electronic archives will allow institutions to work not only more efficiently, but also more safely because in times of war, there are always risks for employees, so if necessary, access to the system will be from any place where there is access to the Internet.
