AbstractThis thesis aims to: 1) determine the application of the PAI teacher assessment at SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo; 2)knowing the development of religious moral character of class VIII A students at SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo; 3) determine the effect of the PAI teacher assessment method on the development of religious moral character of class VIII A students at SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo.This thesis uses a qualitative research approach where the type of research is descriptive. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. Then, the data sources were obtained from primary data sources and secondary data (direct interviews with research subjects, as well as documentation in the form of photos, data, notes, and so on). The analysis technique used is qualitative analysis which consists of three components of analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, and final conclusions.The results of the study show that: 1) The application of the PAI teacher assessment method at SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo is carried out in accordance with formative principles that are integrated with ongoing learning activities and involve students in each activity. 2) The development of religious moral character at SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo was adopted from the surrounding community and developed by the school. 3) The influence of the PAI teacher assessment method on the development of religious moral character, namely, students become more active in carrying out worship obligations.The implications of the assessment method applied at SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo in the field of Islamic religious education can be used as an alternative in shaping the morals of students through good habits that are carried out repeatedly. Such as the habit of praying, zakat, qurban, and the habit of telling the truth, being polite, and so on. Through the assessment method, students gradually understand the knowledge conveyed by the teacher.Keywords: PAI Teacher, Assessment Method, Religious Morals, Character.AbstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui penerapan assessment Guru PAI SMPN 2 MojotengahWonosobo; 2) mengetahui pengembangan karakter moral keagamaan siswa di SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo; 3) mengetahui pengaruh metode assessment Guru PAI terhadap pengembangan karakter moral keagamaan siswa kelas VIII A di SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dimana jenis penelitiannya bersifat deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Kemudian, sumber data diperoleh dari sumber data primer dan data seknder (wawancara langsung dengan subjek penelitian, serta dokumentasi berupa foto, data-data, catatan, dan lain sebagainya). Adapun teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif yang terdiri dari tiga komponen analisis, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan akhir.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Penerapan metode assessment Guru PAI SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo dilaksanakan sesuai dengan prinsip formatif yang terintegrasi dengan kegiatan pembelajaran yang berlangsung dan melibatkan peserta didik di setiap kegiatannya. 2) Pengembangan karakter moral keagamaan di SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo diadopsi dari lingkungan masyarakat sekitar dan dikembangkan oleh pihak sekolah. 3) Pengaruh metode assesment Guru PAI terhadap pengembangan karaktermoral keagamaan yaitu, peserta didik menjadi lebih giat melaksanakan kewajiban beribadah.Implikasi metode assesment yang diterapkan di SMPN 2 Mojotengah Wonosobo dalam bidang pendidikan agama Islam ini bisa digunakan sebagai alternatif dalam membentuk akhlak peserta didik melalui kebiasaan-kebiasaan baik yang dilaksanakan secara berulang. Seperti pembiasaan sholat, zakat, qurban, serta pembiasaan berkata jujur, sopan, dan lain sebagainya.
