Newborn with osteogenesis imperfecta: construction of a nursing care plan

The classic definition of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a disease characterized by bone fragility caused by a qualitative or quantitative defect in type 1 collagen, synthesized by osteoblasts. To develop a nursing care plan aimed at a patient who presents osteogenesis imperfecta. This is an experience report based on bibliographical research and elaboration of the Nursing Care Systematization (SAE) in accordance with the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) and consequent care plan that involves nursing care provided to a patient admitted to the neonatal ICU of a university hospital. This study highlighted the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in osteogenesis imperfecta, integrating nursing care and emotional support to offer a comprehensive, patient-centered approach. Ethics played a fundamental role in ensuring informed and respectful decisions, promoting the well-being and quality of life of patients and their families. The analysis of the entire context makes us reflect, through bibliographic sources, that there is a need for new publications, since society knows little information about the subject. It is evident that this child faces greater challenges in acquiring his skills (whether motor, social and even cognitive) due to the limitations characteristic of the pathology, which interfere in the entire context of his global development.

SISTEMATIZAÇÃO DA ASSISTÊNCIA DE ENFERMAGEM AO INDIVIDUO COM IMAM NO SERVIÇO DE EMERGÊNCIA

Objectives: To develop a proposal for the Systematization of Nursing Assistance (SAE) for patients with AMI in the emergency services. Methods: This is an integrative literature review, which aims to gather and synthesize the results of research on the theme. And it is necessary for the process of elaborating the integrative review six steps. Results: According to the search strategies, fifteen articles of Brazilian origin were identified with proposals for systematizing nursing care for patients with AMI. Conclusion: The Nursing Care Systematization (SAE) allows to map the process, as well as to verify effectiveness, strengths and weaknesses, and risks.

Scientific production about the Systematization of Nursing Care in the Family Health Strategy

Objective: To analyze the scientific production on the Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE) in the Family Health Strategy (ESF). Method: This is an integrative literature review. The databases chosen for the selection of studies were LILACS, MEDLINE, BDENF and ColecionaSUS accessed via VHL/BIREME, and PUBMED. Scientific articles published on the topic were included, from 2016 to 2021, and made available in full. Results: The results indicate that the predominant methods of systematizing care in the ESF include nursing consultation, the use of the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) taxonomy and the application of the Nursing Process (NP). Conclusion: Specific obstacles include lack of training, high demand overloading professionals, limitations of physical structure and deficiency of materials, lack of sensitivity about the importance of SAE, lack of definition of the nurse's role in primary care and inadequate nursing staffing.

Clinical validation of the nursing diagnostic proposition perioperative thirst.

to verify the clinical validity of the proposition of a new nursing diagnosis called perioperative thirst, based on the diagnostic accuracy of its clinical indicators, including the magnitude of effect of its etiological factors. clinical diagnostic validation study with a total of 150 surgical patients at a university hospital. Sociodemographic variables and clinical indicators related to thirst were collected. The latent class analysis technique was used. two models of latent classes were proposed for the defining characteristics. The model adjusted preoperatively included: dry lips, thick saliva, thick tongue, desire to drink water, caregiver report, dry throat and constant swallowing of saliva. In the postoperative period: dry throat, thick saliva, thick tongue, constant swallowing of saliva, desire to drink water, bad taste in the mouth. The factors related to "high ambient temperature" and "dry mouth" are associated with the presence of thirst, as well as the associated conditions "use of anticholinergics" and "intubation". The prevalence of thirst was 62.6% in the pre and 50.2% in the immediate postoperative period. the diagnostic proposition of perioperative thirst showed good accuracy parameters for its clinical indicators and etiological effects. This proposition in a nursing taxonomy will allow greater visibility, appreciation and treatment of this symptom.(1) Evaluates the accuracy of the proposition of the nursing diagnosis perioperative thirst; (2) Allows refined diagnosis for use in clinical practice, teaching and research; (3) Strengthens the systematization of perioperative nursing care; (4) Highlights thirst management as part of care, considering its high prevalence and discomfort; (5) Presents a structure with good accuracy parameters which are representative of thirst.

Sistematização da assistência de enfermagem perioperatória na cirurgia robótica: validação de instrumento

ABSTRACT Objective: To develop and validate an instrument to assist in the systematization of perioperative nursing care in robotic surgery. Methods: Methodological study developed in four phases: content survey; textual elaboration; content validation by the group of expert judges and target audience; and elaboration of the electronic instrument layout. Results: Eleven expert judges and seven evaluators of the target audience participated. For validation, the Content Validity Index (CVI) was used with a 0.78 cutoff point. The instrument total CVI after evaluation was 0.90 by the expert judges and 0.88 by the target audience. Conclusion: The tool built was proved satisfactory for the systematization of perioperative nursing care. The instrument construction was based on the updated scientific literature and validated by the expert judges and target audience.

Overview of nursing ethics teaching in Brazilian public higher education institutions.

to outline the teaching of ethics in undergraduate Nursing programs in Brazilian public higher education institutions. descriptive and exploratory study, carried out through the documentary analysis of pedagogical projects of undergraduate Nursing programs in Brazil. 153 active undergraduate Nursing programs were found, of which 106 provide the pedagogical project. In addition to deontological teaching, the teaching of ethics was identified in a transversal way associated with themes such as Social Context, Hospital and Community Care, Pharmacology, Systematization of Nursing Care, Surgical Nursing, Epidemiology, Palliative Care, Management in Nursing, Diversity, Women's, Children's, Adolescent's, Adult's and Older People's Health, and Mental Health. the challenge in teaching nursing ethics is its integration with each action of caring, teaching and managing.

Systematization of perioperative nursing care in robotic surgery: instrument validation

RESUMO Objetivo: Desenvolver e validar um instrumento para auxiliar na sistematização da assistência de enfermagem perioperatória em cirurgia robótica. Métodos: Estudo metodológico desenvolvido em quatro fases: levantamento do conteúdo; elaboração textual; validação do conteúdo pelo grupo de juízes especialistas e público-alvo; e elaboração do layout do instrumento eletrônico. Resultados: Participaram 11 juízes especialistas e 7 avaliadores do público-alvo. Para validação, utilizou-se o Índice de Validade de Conteúdo (IVC) com ponto de corte em 0,78. O IVC total do instrumento após avaliação foi de 0,90 pelos juízes especialistas e 0,88 pelo público-alvo. Conclusão: A ferramenta construída se mostrou satisfatória para realização da sistematização da assistência de enfermagem perioperatória. A construção do instrumento foi embasada na literatura científica atualizada e validada pelos juízes especialistas e público-alvo.

Critical role of information and communication technology in nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic: A qualitative study.

To examine the need for information and communication technology (ICT)-based nursing care in improving patient management during the pandemic. Maintaining traditional approaches to nursing in the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic predisposes health care systems to a risk of diminished quality of care. Using ICT (real-time videoconferencing, mobile robots and artificial intelligence) could reduce burnout and infection risks by minimizing face-to-face contact. Qualitative descriptive design with content analysis. Overall, 24 participants (14 nurses, six medical/nursing informatics experts and four technology experts) were interviewed. Three main themes were extracted: emerging challenges for nurses due to COVID-19, impact of new technology on patient and nurse experiences and concerns with implementation of technology. A significant portion of nurses' work was unrelated to professional nursing, causing burnout. ICT could help reduce nurses' burden by facilitating environmental management and non-contact communication and providing emotional support for patients. Establishing an ICT-based nursing care system that considers the physical environment and communication infrastructure of health care institutions, user's digital health literacy and user safety to effectively manage non-nursing care-related activities and undertake tasks that can be delegated may improve the quality of care for quarantined patients and reduce risk of cross-infection.

Care for people with cardiological diseases

Objective: The objective of this work is to describe the care for people with cardiological disorders. Methodology: This is an experience report through the application of the Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE), aimed at people with cardiological disorders in the hospital context. Results and discussion: Adaptation theory was applied in the six phases of Calista Roy's Theory and nursing diagnoses were prepared for the four adaptation modes: physiological, interdependence, self-concept and role function. Final considerations: When applying SAE to individuals with cardiological disorders, the multidisciplinary team must perform it in all its stages, and use the protocols to offer holistic and comprehensive care, aiming at health promotion, potential risk prevention and adaptation to of health needs.

Quantitative Evaluation of Policies for combining Medical and Nursing Care based on the LDA–PMC Model: A Comparative Analysis of Typical Chinese Provinces

Improving and optimizing the policy system of combined medical and nursing care (CMNC) is an important driving force in the development of China’s pension industry. Using a latent Dirichlet allocation–policy modeling consistency model, this study analyzes 25 key policies related to CMNC to develop a policy evaluation index system and evaluates the CMNC policies of four provinces in China: Shandong, Sichuan, Jiangsu, and Hubei. It highlights issues facing China’s CMNC policy, including the poor use of policy tools, insufficient publicity, lack of insurance protection for employees, and lack of local policies’ pertinence. Finally, a policy optimization path is proposed.

Day service use and improved Serial 7 and Verbal fluency scores in patients with Alzheimer's disease.

Day services (DS) are provided as part of the Japanese public nursing care system. Recent studies have suggested a possible relationship between DS use and limited progression of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study examined in detail the relationship between improvements in cognitive function and DS use in people with AD. We retrospectively analysed Revised Hasegawa Dementia Scale (HDS-R) scores of 208 patients with AD at five memory clinics over a 6-month period. The patients were divided into a group that started using DS (n=132) and a group that did not (n=76) during the study period. We then compared each participant's total and item scores on the HDS-R between the first clinic visit and 6 months later also compared scores between DS users and non-users. DS non-users were younger, predominantly male, had longer school education, and better total HDS-R score at the first visit. After 6 months, DS users showed significantly improved total HDS-R score and individual Serial 7 and Verbal fluency scores. Immediate memory scores were comparable between the first visit and after 6 months. Among the DS users, more frequent participation in DS was significantly associated with improved total HDS-R score. DS use was significantly associated with improved HDS-R scores, especially for the Serial 7 and Verbal fluency tasks, and there was no deterioration in Immediate memory score. These results suggest the usefulness of DS participation as a non-pharmacological therapy.

Nursing Care Systematization with Case-Based Reasoning and Artificial Intelligence.

Of the most popular applications of artificial intelligence (AI), those used in the health sector are the ones that represent the largest proportion, in terms of use and expectation. An investigative systematization model is proposed in the scientific training of nursing professionals, by articulating epistemological positions from previous studies on the subject. In order to validate the model proposed, a prototype was created to present an application that could help nurses in their clinical processes, storing their experiences in a case base for future research. The prototype consisted of digitizing paediatric nursing diagnoses and inserting them into a case base in order to assess the effectiveness of the prototype in handling these cases in a structure conducive to retrieval, adaptation, indexing, and case comparison. This work presents as a result a computational tool for the health area, employing one of the artificial intelligence techniques, case-based reasoning (CBR). The small governmental nursing education institution in Bangladesh used in this study did not yet have the systemization of nursing care (NCS) and computerized support scales.

A podiatria clínica no planejamento de assistência de enfermagem direcionada ao paciente portador de diabetes mellitus

The aim was to emphasize the importance of clinical podiatry in planning nursing care for patients with diabetes mellitus. This is a bibliographic review, with a narrative character and a descriptive approach, with emphasis on the Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE), using articles published in indexed journals about patients with diabetes and clinical podiatry. The research was relevant to contribute to specific care for patients with diabetes mellitus at risk and patients with injuries resulting from foot complications. It is concluded that the SAE focused on the feet of patients with diabetes mellitus becomes significant to avoid injuries and, consequently, irreversible complications such as amputations. Clinical podiatry is a modality of treatment and specific care for the nursing staff that aims to develop care planning aimed at patients with diabetes mellitus.

Therefore, training based on philosophical principles that encourage the increase of logical and critical thinking is considered unquestionable, ensuring professionals the systematization of assistance with the application of the nursing process based on scientific understanding and strong arguments supported by the path of truthfulness, morality, ethics and critical self-reflection in order to value clinical practices. Thus, nurses can use clinical reasoning skills to deliver a humane, ethical, and effective professional performance.

There are 155 journals according to keywords which are screened into 10 journals according to the theme and analyzed which examines the application of the Professional Nursing Practice Method (MPKP). The results showed that the implementation of MPKP was in the good category and was more dominant, namely 40% in the nursing care system. In the application of the maximum Professional Nursing Practice Method (MPKP) and good categories, nurses must make professional values, professional relationships, management approaches, nursing care systems, and reward compensation systems according to nursing standards by looking at performance and determining the appropriate MPKP model.
