Numerical Solution of Partial Integro-Differential Equations by using Projection Method

In this paper we study the numerical solution of initial-boundary problem for parabolic Volterra integro-differential equations in one dimensional. These equations include the partial differentiation of an unknown function and the integral term containing the unknown function which is the memory of problem. We have made an attempt to develop a method for Wavelet Galerkin which provides the approximate solution. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.

Quasi wavelet based numerical method for a class of partial integro-differential equation

In this paper we study the numerical solution of initial-boundary problem for a class of partial integro-differential equations. The quasi wavelet method is proposed to handle the spatial derivatives while the forward Euler method is used to discretize the temporal derivatives. Detailed discrete schemes are given and some numerical experiments are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the discrete technique. The comparisons of the present numerical results with the exact analytical solutions show that the quasi wavelet based numerical method has distinctive local property and can achieve accurate results.

Discrete maximum principle for finite element parabolic models in higher dimensions

When we construct continuous and/or discrete mathematical models in order to describe a real-life problem, these models should have various qualitative properties, which typically arise from some basic principles of the modelled phenomena. In this paper we investigate this question for the numerical solution of initial-boundary problems for the parabolic problems in higher dimensions, with the first boundary condition, using the linear finite elements. We give the conditions for the geometry of the mesh and for the choice of the discretization parameters, i.e., for the step sizes under which the discrete qualitative properties hold. For the special regular uniform simplicial mesh we define the conditions for the discretization step-sizes.
