Optimization of Support and Relief Parameters for Deep-Buried Metal Mine Roadways

The management of rock mass deformation in high-stress roadways is a pivotal aspect of deep geotechnical engineering. Given the fruitful outcomes of research in rock mechanics regarding traditional confining pressure control methods, scholars have increasingly turned their attention to exploring pressure-relieving techniques, including borehole pressure relief and blasting pressure relief. However, there is limited research on pressure relief methods for deep-buried hard rock tunnels. This article commences with an overview of pressure relief in the roadway and conducts a detailed study on the parameters and methods of pressure relief in the roadway. To address safety and mining efficiency challenges, such as severe deformation leading to support failures, this study conducted a parameter analysis using the Sanshandao Gold Mine as a case study. Based on existing support methods, a strategy for arranging pressure relief roadways at varying distances from the main roadway is proposed, significantly enhancing the stress environment there. Numerical simulation software was employed to model two scenarios: (1) excavating the pressure relief roadway, main roadway, and maintenance roadway simultaneously and (2) first excavating the pressure relief roadway, followed by the main roadway and the maintenance roadway simultaneously. Simulation results indicated that the first pressure relief approach outperforms the second. The optimal position for both pressure relief roadways is 15 m from the main roadway, resulting in maximum deformation of the main roadway within 100 mm. These findings align with on-site stress monitoring data and satisfy safety production criteria. The research offers a theoretical foundation for similar pressure relief techniques in deeply buried, high-stress roadways.

Optimization of Elbow Draft Tubes for Variable Speed Propeller Turbine

The design of the elbow draft tubes is challenging due to the complexity of the flow. The whole turbine unit’s power output strongly depends on the draft tube function, especially for the low-head turbines. The article presents a novel approach to optimizing elbow draft tubes for a variable-speed propeller turbine designed for low-head applications. First, the study addresses the specifics of the propeller variable speed turbine by comparing the classical Kaplan turbine. Then, the grid scaling test is conducted to evaluate the uncertainty of the pressure regeneration. Further, a new approach to parameterising the elbow draft tube geometry is introduced. The study employs ANSYS CFX 2021 R1 software for numerical simulation to optimise the elbow draft tube geometry in the CAESES environment. After the sensitivity test and deselecting the non-sensitive parameters, we perform multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) optimization. The optimization process results in a Pareto front of optimised elbow draft tube shapes with the best pressure regeneration for different draft tube construction heights, enabling the selection of suitable candidates for various locations. Minimal difference in the performance of the selected elbow draft tube shapes with the simple straight draft tube confirms a high-quality draft tube optimization achievement.

Geomechanical Response Characteristics of Different Sedimentary Hydrodynamic Cycles—Exampled by Xujiahe Formation of Upper Triassic, Western Sichuan Basin

This study delves into the geomechanical responses of different sedimentary hydrodynamic cycles in deep tight sandstone formations. Employing core observation and thin section analysis, we quantitatively identified and characterized bedding planes, sedimentary microfacies, and tectonic fractures. Then, the intricate relationships between various architectural interfaces and geomechanical parameters were elucidated. Subsequently, utilizing finite element numerical simulation software, in situ stress and fracture parameters were derived. By identifying a fracture facies zone correlated with the sedimentary hydrodynamic cycle and production data, our findings unveil several key insights: (1) Geomechanical parameters (Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio, brittleness index) exhibited noteworthy variations within the T3x2−5 sand group, indicative of weak elasticity and robust plasticity. (2) The effective distance, influenced by diverse reservoir architecture interfaces, displayed variability, with each transition between peak-valley-peak or valley-peak-valley pinpointed as a distinct sedimentary hydrodynamic cycle. (3) In environments characterized by strong sedimentary hydrodynamics (between two level 3 architecture interfaces), fractures with larger strike angles and lower dip angles were observed to be more prevalent. (4) Three significant fracture faces—level I, level II, and level III—were discerned within the study area. Notably, reservoirs associated with level III exhibited characteristics suggestive of medium porosity and permeability, indicative of a gas layer. By thoroughly understanding the geomechanical response characteristics of formations such as the Xujiahe Formation, it is possible to guide the exploration and development of energy resources such as oil and natural gas. This helps to improve the efficiency and safety of resource extraction, promoting the sustainable utilization of energy.

Numerical and theoretical analysis of multi-pillar instability under elastic beams

With the increase of mining scale and depth, the cascading pillar failure (CPF) disaster has gradually become one of the core technical challenges for safe mining. This paper studies the CPF disaster of multi-pillar (P1-2, P2-3, P3-4 and P4-5) at 848 m level of Alhada Lead-Zinc Mine based on the RFPA2D numerical simulation software and stiffness theory. The numerical simulation results indicate that the load transfer effect induces the domino instabilities of double pillar (P2-3 and P3-4) and double pillar (P1-2 and P4-5), which is characterized by the ‘2 + 2’ compound failure mode. The physical essence of load transfer effect is revealed through numerical simulation, which is the elastic rebound of surrounding rockmass (such as roof-floor). In addition, the theoretical model of rebound overload mechanism of roof-multi-pillar-floor system is established based on the catastrophe theory, and the instability criterion, sudden jump and energy release of roof-multi-pillar-floor system are derived. Finally, the main influencing factors of load transfer effect such as pillar spacing and damage fracture zone are quantitatively analyzed, and the load transfer law shows that the load transfer effect decreases with the increasing pillar spacing and is hindered by the structural plane in the surrounding rockmass.

Simulation and Experimental Verification of Dispersion and Explosion of Hydrogen–Methane Mixture in a Domestic Kitchen

Hydrogen is a carbon-free energy source that can be obtained from various sources. The blending of hydrogen represents a transitional phase in the shift from natural gas systems to hydrogen-based systems. However, concerns about the safety implications of introducing hydrogen have led to extensive discussions. This paper utilizes Fluent 17.0 numerical simulation software to simulate the leakage of hydrogen-blended natural gas in a closed domestic kitchen and analyze the concentration distribution and its variation pattern after a leakage. An experimental platform is set up, and a mixture of nitrogen and helium gas is used as a substitute for hydrogen-blended natural gas for the simulations and experiments. The simulation results demonstrate that the leaked gas spreads and accumulates towards the top of the space, gradually filling the entire area as the leak persists. As the hydrogen content in the leaked gas increases, the dispersion capacity of the gas in the confined space also increases. Furthermore, as the flow rate of the leaked gas increases, the average concentration of the leaked gas rises, and the gas stratification in the confined kitchen diminishes. The concentration distribution observed in the experiments aligns with the simulation results. After establishing the feasibility conditions of the model, the dispersion of the hydrogen-blended natural gas in the kitchen is further simulated. The results suggest that blending hydrogen into the gas enhances the dispersion of the gas after a leak, leading to a wider distribution within the kitchen and an increased risk in the event of a leak. Additionally, this paper employs the CASD module of FLACS 11.0 software to construct a three-dimensional geometric model of the domestic kitchen for simulation studies on the explosion of hydrogen-blended natural gas in a confined space. By adjusting the hydrogen ratio in the combustible gases present in the space and examining the variations in hydrogen concentration and external conditions, such as opening or closing the door, the influence on parameters including the peak explosion pressure, explosion overpressure, explosion flame temperature, and explosion response time are examined. Furthermore, the extent of the explosion area is determined, and the effect of hydrogen on the blast is clarified.

Progressive Failure Mechanism of Shield Tunnel Face in Complex Urban Geological Environment

The construction of multiple tunnels across inland rivers has had a significant influence on the improvement of the transportation infrastructure. The technology for constructing tunnels is progressing towards the development of larger cross-sections, longer distances, and the ability to withstand high hydraulic pressure in complex hydrogeological conditions, including high-permeability strata. In order to ensure the face stability of shield tunnels under high hydraulic pressure that crosses a fault fracture zone, it is necessary to study the progressive failure mechanism of shield tunnel faces induced by high hydraulic pressure seepage. This paper employs finite element numerical simulation software to methodically examine the variation in the characteristics of the water seepage field, limiting support force, and face stability failure mode of shield tunnels passing through fault fracture zones with high hydraulic pressure under varying fault fracture width zones. The results show that the formation hydraulic gradient will progressively widen when the tunnel face is located within the undisturbed rock mass and is advanced towards the area of fault fracture. This will raise the likelihood of instability in the shield tunnel and progressively raise the limiting support force on the tunnel face. Moreover, as the tunnel face nears the region of fault fracture within the undisturbed rock mass, the damage range increases gradually. In addition, due to the increase in seepage force, the angle between the failure area and the horizontal plane becomes more and more gentle. On the contrary, as the tunnel’s face moves closer to the undisturbed rock mass from the region of the fault fracture, the damage range gradually decreases, and the dip angle between the damage area and the horizontal plane becomes steeper and steeper due to the decreasing seepage force in the process. The study findings presented in this work are highly significant, both theoretically and practically, for the design and management of safety.

Simulation of non-Newtonian fluid flow in a horizontal pipe

Microchannel reactors exhibit distinct gas-liquid two-phase flow behaviors compared to macro-scale channels, offering advantages like efficient heat and mass transfer, compact size, and low energy consumption. Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) emerges as a potent stabilizer, enhancing mixing, homogenization and pipeline transport. Its judicious application reduces equipment strain, amplifies homogenization efficiency and finds diverse utility in food processing and beyond. However, incorrect employment bears the risk of compromised outcomes, potentially leading to product wastage. Consequently, investigating N2-CMC solution flow in microchannels holds paramount significance for elevating efficacy, minimizing usage, refining product quality and bolstering yield. In this study, we simulated the N2-CMC solution flow dynamics within an interleaved T-shaped microchannel using FLUENT which is a numerical simulation software. The simulation delved into alterations in gas-liquid two-phase flow patterns and pressure drops. We examined the impacts of liquid concentration and gas-liquid flow rate ratio on flow patterns, pressure drops and bubble lengths. The simulation results exhibited congruence with experimental data. Notably, elevated liquid concentrations correlated with higher pressure drops and elongated bubble lengths. Conversely, augmenting the gas-liquid flow rate ratio led to diminished pressure drops while elongating bubble lengths. These findings furnish insights into flow patterns and pressure drop behaviors for gas-non-Newtonian fluids within microchannels, forming a pivotal reference for microfluidic system design.

Numerical Simulation Study on Blasting-induced Damage Characteristics of Frozen Rock

Rock masses in cold regions are exposed to a negative temperature environment for extended periods, causing significant changes in their mechanical properties. This inevitably results in substantial differences in the blasting characteristics compared to rocks at normal temperatures. To reveal the influence of different temperatures on the blasting characteristics of frozen rocks, this paper utilized a finite element method-based LS-DYNA software for numerical simulation of single borehole blasting at freezing temperatures of -5°C, -10°C, -20°C, and -30°C. The results showed that under negative temperature conditions, the degree of rock blasting-induced damage gradually decreased as the rock temperature decreased. As the temperature decreased from -5°C to -30°C, the volume of rock blasting-induced damage decreased by approximately 14%. Additionally, this paper has further investigated the effects of ignition locations, free surface, and borehole burdens on the blasting-induced damage characteristics of frozen rock. It was found that the volume of the blast cavity is the largest in reverse detonation. While forward detonation is more favorable for damaging the top rock and helps to improve the rock fragmentation at the orifice. Increasing the free surface can significantly improve the effect of blasting-induced damage. There is an optimal borehole burden distance, which can fully utilize the explosive energy and break the rock efficiently. Finally, based on multivariate nonlinear regression analysis, an empirical formula of the reduction coefficient of the specific charge for frozen rock mass is developed, which can provide a theoretical basis for designing and optimizing rock engineering blasting in alpine and cold regions.

Analysis of deformation mechanism of rainfall-induced landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area: Piansongshu landslide

The Three Gorges Reservoir Area (TGRA) is characterized by unique geological features that increase its susceptibility to landslides. These slopes are especially prone to destabilization when influenced by external triggers like rainfall. This research focuses on the Piansongshu landslide within the TGRA, aiming at unraveling the complex internal deformation mechanisms of landslides triggered by rainfall and providing critical insights for their prevention and mitigation. The study begins with on-site geological surveys to meticulously examine the macroscopic signs and mechanisms of deformation. It then utilizes the GeoStudio numerical simulation software to assess the landslide's stability, focusing on the changes in internal seepage fields and stability under various rainfall scenarios. Results indicate that continuous rainfall leads to the formation of a temporary saturation zone on the slope, which gradually deepens. In regions with more pronounced deformation, the infiltration line at the leading edge of accumulation notably protrudes towards the surface. Notably, the stability coefficient of the secondary shear surface of the landslide fluctuates more significantly than that of the primary sliding surface. Higher rainfall intensity and longer duration are positively correlated with a more pronounced decrease in stability coefficients. The impact on stability also varies across different rainfall patterns. As rainfall infiltrates over time, the slope's safety factor gradually decreases. This reduction continues even post-rainfall, indicating a delayed restoration period before stability returns to a safe level. These results yield valuable data for forecasting and mitigating landslides.

Research on Mechanical Properties of Steel-Polypropylene Fiber-Reinforced Concrete after High-Temperature Treatments

A mechanical property experiment was carried out on steel-polypropylene fiber-reinforced concrete after elevated temperatures by using a 50 mm diameter SHPB apparatus. The regulations of compressive strength, elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and other mechanical properties under six heating temperature levels (normal temperature, 100 °C, 200 °C, 400 °C, 600 °C, and 800 °C) and three impact pressures (0.3 MPa, 0.4 MPa, 0.5 MPa) were studied. Using ANSYS/LS-DYNA 19.0 numerical simulation software and LS-PrePost post-processing software, numerical simulation analysis was conducted on the dynamic Hopkinson uniaxial impact compression and uniaxial dynamic impact splitting mechanical experiments of C40 plain concrete and steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber concrete. The results show that the dynamic compressive strength of hybrid fiber concrete with the optimal dosage reaches its maximum at a temperature group of 200 °C, and the dynamic compressive strength of hybrid fiber concrete with the optimal dosage increases by 97.1% compared to C40 plain concrete at a temperature group of 800 °C. The impact waveform and stress-strain curve results of the numerical simulation are very similar to the experimental results. The errors in calculating the peak stress and peak strain are within 6%, which can truly and accurately simulate the static mechanical properties and failure process of hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete.

Gas explosion characteristics and spray control mechanism in underground square.

The spray system mechanism during a gas explosion in an underground square pipeline is complex. In this paper, the underground square of Fuxin City is selected as the research object. FLACS numerical simulation software is used to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of a gas explosion in an underground square pipeline with an unopened spray system using combustion and combustion rate models. Different spray pressures were compared and analyzed to determine the optimal spray control pressure, and the spray system mechanism was clarified. The results revealed that the gas explosion overpressure is divided into the overpressure gentle, overpressure rising, and overpressure decay stages, corresponding to a trend of rapid growth and slow decline. The influence of spray pressure on the gas explosion exhibits a promotion-inhibition-promotion trend, corresponding to 0-0.2 MPa, 0.2-0.6 MPa, and 0.6-1.6 Mpa, respectively. The peak overpressure and overpressure propagation rates are the lowest at 0.6 MPa, and the explosion suppression effect is the most pronounced. The spray system mechanism varies with the explosion overpressure stages. Generally, the time to peak value, that is, the peak time, the overall duration of the explosion, and the duration of the explosion stage decrease, whereas the peak explosion overpressure decreases.

Conjugate Heat Transfer Advancements and Applications in Aerospace Engine Technology

Over the past few decades, conjugate heat transfer (CHT) technology has been instrumental in predicting temperature fields within aerospace engines, guiding engine design with its predictive capabilities. This paper comprehensively surveys the foundational technologies of CHT and their applications in engine design, backed by an extensive literature review. A novel coupling iteration methodology, su-F-TFTB, was proposed. Following this, it introduced grid splicing technology tailored for heat flux conservation, which significantly enhances the adaptability of CHT grids. Ultimately, this study employed the self-developed Aerospace Engine Numerical Simulation (AENS v4.0.1) software to perform CHT analyses on NASA-C3X turbine blades equipped with ten radial cooling systems. A comparative analysis of pressure distributions across various density meshes was undertaken to affirm mesh independence. Furthermore, the impacts of the Spalart–Allmaras (SA) one-equation model and k–ω Shear Stress Transport (SST) two-equation model on the temperature distribution in conjugate heat transfer were investigated. The results indicated that the k–ω SST model exhibited superior performance, aligning closely with NASA experimental data. This validation confirmed the effectiveness of the software.

Research on Ventilation Simulation Technology for Large Section Gas Tunnel Construction

In order to solve the problem of gas overrun during the construction of large section gas tunnel, this paper takes the Baima Tunnel as the engineering background and uses fluent numerical simulation software to study the gas transport law of the tunnel under different ventilation methods. The results indicate that when the tunnel is excavated for 1200m, the forced ventilation method cannot effectively solve the problem of gas overrun on the heading face. After adopting the gallery ventilation method, the gas concentration on the heading face decreases to less than 1%, which effectively solved the problem of gas overrun on the heading face and provided assistance for the safe construction of the project..

Research on the effect of water-cooling steel pipe on preventing spontaneous combustion of coal pile and its thermal migration behavior

During the storage and transportation process after mining, coal piles are placed in open environments, making them prone to self-heating and spontaneous combustion due to the nature of coal and factors like natural wind flow. In recent years, there have been frequent spontaneous combustion incidents involving coal piles, posing significant safety risks. To effectively prevent and control spontaneous combustion disasters in open-air coal storage piles, we propose a method involving the arrangement of water-cooling steel pipes within the coal piles. This method applies theories of coal spontaneous combustion mechanisms, porous media heat transfer, and non-isothermal pipeline heat transfer. The multi-physics coupling model of COMSOL numerical simulation software is used to analyze the spontaneous ignition process and prevention effect of open pit coal pile. In the model, the thin material transfer of porous media is taken as the oxygen concentration field, the heat transfer of porous media is taken as the temperature field, and the free and porous media flow is taken as the air seepage velocity field. The simulation results of the spontaneous combustion process in the coal pile indicate that the high-temperature zone of spontaneous combustion is situated within the range of 0.5 ~ 1.5 m inside the wind-facing surface and extends 0.5 m above the ground level. These findings serve as a basis for determining the optimal placement of water-cooling steel pipes within the coal pile. The simulation results of a single water-cooling steel pipe demonstrate a positive correlation between the cooling effect on the coal pile and the water cool flow, and a negative correlation with the water cool temperature. Additionally, the cooling radius of the water-cooling steel pipe is determined by the circumference of the pipe and remains unaffected by the water cool flow. Finally, simulations were conducted to evaluate the cooling effect of multiple rows of steel pipes, and optimal arrangement parameters were determined: a center distance between steel pipes of 1 m and a water cool flow rate of 1500 L/min. As a result, the onset of the self-heating period in the coal pile was delayed by 11 days, and the spontaneous combustion period was extended by 56 days. The arrangement of water-cooling steel pipes in the coal pile has demonstrated significant efficacy in preventing and controlling spontaneous combustion.

Three-dimensional Modeling of Core-structured Field Effect Transistor

Objective: In our previous publication, a core-structured field effect transistor (CoreFET) device shows field effect transistor (FET) behavior. In this work, we investigated factors such as the thickness of the film and the channel on the conductivity of the device in order to optimize the geometry to provide guidance on the fabrication of the device with the best performance. Methods: This study uses Silvaco ATLAS numerical simulation software to investigate the performance of CoreFET. The effects of the thickness of the dielectric layer, SiO2, and the distance between the drain and source (channel length) on the conductivity of the semi-conductor indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) have been studied. The flat FET models with the same parameters were used for comparison. Results: Our simulation results demonstrate a directed correlation between the optimized conductivity of the device and the thickness of the dielectric material, as well as the length of the channel. Enhanced sensitivity is achievable by employing a thinner dielectric layer and a narrower channel. Conclusion: According to the results, the device can achieve better performance by optimizing the thickness of the insulator and the gap distance between drain and source electrodes. The remarkable similarity between them indicates that the FET effect remained largely unaffected by variations in FET shape. This observation suggests a consistent outcome across FETs, reinforcing the notion that CoreFET exhibits comparable results as those of film FETs. This finding significantly broadens the scope of CoreFET applications.

Study on soil pressure of loose soil in cohesive soil tunnel considering soil arch effect

Soil pressure in clay formation tunnels is closely related to soil arch effect and the development of slip surfaces. Firstly, numerical simulation software is used to simulate the actual situation of tunnel excavation, and the change rule of the slip-cracking surface of cohesive soil is analyzed. Secondly, based on the numerical simulation results and the ellipsoid theory, the pressure formula of Terzaghi loose Earth is modified considering that the principal stress trace is catenary. Finally, the calculation results are compared with the finite element calculation results to verify the rationality of the formula in this paper. The relationship between the internal friction angle, cohesion force c, eccentricity ε, looseness coefficient β, and the pressure of loose Earth is further studied. The results show that there is a gap between the sliding crack angles with or without dilatancy angle and it will affect the development form of soil arch. The slip angle decreases gradually with the increase of the buried depth ratio H/D and becomes stable when the buried depth ratio H/D≥3. Compared with deep-buried tunnels, the increase of internal friction angle in the shallow-buried tunnel is more conducive to reducing the overlying soil pressure. The loose soil pressure decreases with the increase of eccentricity ε and loose coefficient β, and the influence of eccentricity ε on loose soil pressure is significantly greater than that of loose coefficient β. Therefore, the change of eccentricity ε should be paid close attention in the project.

Compression behavior and microscopic damage mechanism of waste rock-tailings matrix composites: Experiments and models

Waste rock-tailings matrix composites used for goaf filling are a significant approach to promote solid waste recycling in mines and achieve safe and environmentally friendly production. In this study, the effects of waste rock content (WRC) and size (WRS) on the compressive mechanical properties of cemented rock-tailings backfill (CRTB) were investigated by experiment. Additionally, PFC3D numerical simulation software is utilized to visualize the micro-crack extension mechanism and microscopic damage characteristics of CRTB. The results indicate that irregularly shaped waste rock exhibits bridging and interlocking effects within CRTB, effectively increasing the uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus. However, excessive WRC and WRS lead to a looser skeleton structure in CRTB, thus compromising its load-bearing capacity. The optimum WRC and WRS are 30% and 4–6 mm, respectively. The incorporation of irregularly shaped waste rock effectively suppresses the Poisson effect, and as the WRC increases, CRTB failure gradually transitions from tensile failure to complete shear failure. Numerical simulation results demonstrate that irregularly shaped waste rock redirects and seals crack expansion, resulting in a distinct X-shaped distribution of the main crack after CRTB damage. The findings of this research provide valuable guidance for the efficient application of waste rock-tailings matrix composites in mines.

The effect of the inlet steam superheat degree on the non-equilibrium condensation in steam turbine cascade

Due to the high steam velocity and low thermal parameters at the turbine's final stage, steam generates non-equilibrium condensation and forms a large number of small droplets during the process of pressure expansion. The wet steam mixed with droplets impinges on the turbine blades, endangering turbine operation safety and reducing turbine work efficiency. This article modifies the non-equilibrium condensation control equation and embeds it into the numerical simulation software to make the numerical calculation results more accurate. By modifying the inlet steam superheat in the classical experiments, the condensation characteristics of wet steam in Moses–Stein nozzles and Dykas cascades are studied. The results show that increasing inlet superheat can effectively suppress the generation of non-equilibrium condensation and reduce outlet liquid mass fraction. The minimum supercooling temperature of non-equilibrium condensation is only related to the working fluid characteristics (the steam model used in this article is around 20 K). When the inlet superheat of the cascade is large, the rapid condensation region is mainly near the suction surface. In contrast, when the superheat is low, the rapid condensation zone is mainly near the pressure surface. The condensation location is mainly affected by the intensity of internal condensation shock waves in the cascade. Increasing inlet superheat not only increases the shock wave intensity but also decreases the shock wave angle in the passage. When the inlet temperature increases by 20 K, the heat efficiency of the cascade increases by about 1%.

The Distribution Law of Ground Stress Field in Yingcheng Coal Mine Based on Rhino Surface Modeling

The distribution law of the ground stress field is of great significance in guiding the design of coal mine roadway alignment, determining the parameters of roadway support, and preventing and controlling the impact of ground pressure in coal mines. A geostress inversion method combining Rhino surface modeling and FLAC3D 6.0 numerical simulation software is proposed. Based on the geological data of the coal mine and the results of on-site measurements, a three-dimensional geological model of Yingcheng Coal Mine is established for the geostress inversion, and the distribution law of the geostress field in Yingcheng Coal Mine is obtained. Research shows the following: (1) The horizontal maximum principal stress values of the Yingcheng Mine are between 33.9 and 35.3 MPa, the horizontal minimum principal stress values are between 23.6 and 25.4 MPa, and the direction of the horizontal maximum principal stress is roughly in the southwest to west direction; (2) the three-way principal stress magnitude relationship is σH > σv > σh, indicating that the horizontal stress dominates in the study area, which belongs to the slip-type stress state; (3) The maximum principal stress of No. 3 coal seam is 33.1–34.8 MPa, the middle principal stress is 27.5–29.2 MPa, and the minimum principal stress is 17.3–22.9 MPa. Due to the influence of topography and burial depth, there is a phenomenon of stress concentration in some areas. By comparing the inversion values with the measured values, the accuracy of the geostress inversion is high, and the initial geostress inversion method based on Rhino surface modeling accurately inverts the geostress distribution pattern of the Yingcheng coal mine.

Optimization of inclined coal seam tunnel section angle and anchor angle based on response surface method

The mining of inclined coal seams is often accompanied by problems such as difficult to control deformation of the tunnel roof and failure of anchor bolts. Taking the transportation channel of Jinping Coal Industry 1071-1 in Shanxi Xiangkuang Mine as the background, FLAC3D numerical simulation software was used, and the method of response surface experimental design and data analysis was used to systematically study the effects of the anchor installation angle and the roof inclination angle of the tunnel section on different inclination angles.
