Purpose : This study was conducted to establish a core nursing skills and evaluation protocols by modifying and supplementing Programme Outcome of nursing curiculum at a college. Methods : Through quantitative and qualitative surveys, expert consultation, and validity, 18 core nursing skills and evaluation protocols were finally derived. Results : The 18 core nursing skills include vital signs measurement, oral medication, intramuscular injection, subcutaneous injection, intradermal injection, intravenous fluid infusion, transfusion, intermittent gavage nutrition, simple catheterization, indwelling catheterization, enema, peripheral oxygen saturation measurement and electrocardiogram monitor, oxygen therapy using a nasal cannula, suction, basic CPR and defibrillator application, pain control, bedsore management and fall prevention nursing, and drainage management. Conclusion : It is expected that the final completed core nursing skills and evaluation protocols will contribute to improving nursing students’ core nursing skills competency and clinical adaptation ability.
