The focus of multiapplication of the nanomaterial is the recent research. Based on that the current work describes synthesis of nano Lanthanum ferrites doped with Europium (1 mol, 3 mol, 5 mol and 7 mol%) by cost effective biofuel combustion method, using Ocimum tenuiflorum extract as fuel. The doping possibly changed the size and morphology of the host as evident from results of XRD, SEM and TEM analysis. As there is increase in band gap from 2.2 to 2.5 eV for undoped to 5 mol% doped Europium which strongly supports the photocatalytic degradation of Congo Red dye in the UV and visible light. The 5 mol% doped Eu shows 65 % and 81 % in UV-light and Visible light respectively. The electrochemical studies indicates the accepted capacitance and semiconductor nature of synthesised nano ferrites. The antibacterial activity was tested against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus showed 5 mol% Eu doped LFO was more effective than other synthesized LFO.
