Research on Communication Simulation of PROFIBUS Multi-master System

As the application background of fieldbus becomes more and more extensive, PROF I BUS contains multiple master stations, and a multi-master system with multiple slave stations emerges at the historic moment. This paper establishes a multi-master communication system model and uses simulation technology to study the relationship between the target token cycle time, token waiting time, and master site address value.

Improving the Efficiency of HEV Electronic Applications Using CAN-BUS Communication

A new energy management technique with aid of Controller Area Network (CAN) bus for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is proposed in this research. HEV is a type of hybrid vehicle that combines with an electric propulsion system a conventional internal combustion engine system. The electric powertrain operation is intended to achieve greater fuel economy than a conventional vehicle. To accurately distribute power from one of the battery sources, the Energy Management System determines the reference speed for the electric motor drive and the internal combustion engine. The Proportional and Integral (PI) controller is used to maximize the gain of the primary and secondary controllers for maximum overshoot and resolution time. By optimizing the value, using the Naked Mole Rat optimization technique, the efficiency is improved. The CAN bus is a multi-master communication protocol characterized by the deterministic resolution, high efficiency and simple implementation. We introduce a secure technology that helps to automotive CAN protocol which is often used in HEV networks. The simulation results show that the proposed approach achieves an increased efficiency of 97%.

Research on Multi-master Communication System Based on RS485 Bus

This paper introduces an RS485 bus communication system that can support multi-host online. The communication system is based on the basic communication principle of the single chip microcomputer, combined with the function of the RS485 chip, utilizes the characteristics of the triode, and realizes the communication mode of the multi-host node on the conventional half-duplex master-slave working mode RS485 bus. This key point realization marks the fact that the RS485 bus supporting multi-host node two-way all-digital communication becomes a reality. At the same time, the communication system combines the lightning protection and surge protection requirements, and provides a solid foundation for the RS485 bus fieldbus control system FCS (Fieldbus Control System) based on RS485 bus.

Development of a Multi-Master Communication Platform for Mobile Distributed Systems

This paper proposes a design of a multi-master communication platform for mobile distributed systems, which can be applied to distributed systems without concern on the formation. Experiments were conducted with the testing modules, and the result shows that synchronization of test modules can be effectively achieved with the aid of the platform.

The Challenge of Standards for Plant Communication

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the challenge of standards for plant communication. A distributed computer control system offers two important features for a user organization. The features include small, modular control units, which allow partitioning of a process into separate local areas, each with a dedicated local unit control system, and the multimaster communication systems used within local areas can also provide connection to other plant areas. The result is a complete plant wide integrated control structure. Some benefits from the small modular approach includes low initial cost to try out the control structure, faster payback when plants are commissioned in stages, paying for each stage when it is built, gives better cash flow. The benefits from multimaster communication across the complete plant includes a common message structure throughout the plant simplifies fault monitoring and reduces maintenance costs. All stations can readily obtain data from other stations. The system supports great control flexibility.
