Determining the most useful renewable energy alternative for Turkey by combining MAUT and TAOV methods

This study focuses on various Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods developed in the academic literature to facilitate the decision-making process. These methods are primarily aimed at establishing a ranking of alternatives based on specific criteria, with the ultimate goal of determining the most optimal alternative. In this work, we propose a novel integrated MCDM approach that combines the Total Area Based on Orthogonal Vectors (TAOV) method with the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) method. Within this framework, criteria weights are determined using the MAUT method, while the TAOV method is employed to ascertain the ranking of alternatives. The primary objective of this approach is to identify the most suitable renewable energy resource for the context of Turkey. Based on a comprehensive review of relevant literature regarding the evaluation of renewable energy sources in Turkey, a set of critical criteria influencing the decision-making process is delineated. These criteria encompass a range of factors including efficiency, construction duration, cost, government incentives, economic lifespan, external dependence, employment opportunities, social acceptance, spatial requirements, and environmental considerations such as greenhouse gas emissions. The outcomes of this study reveal that, according to the proposed approach, the most beneficial renewable energy resources for Turkey are ranked as follows: hydroelectric, wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal energy sources, respectively.

Industry 4.0 and Lean Manufacturing, using the MAUT Method

Industry 4.0 covers a wide range of areas, such as production processes, efficiency, data management, consumer relationships, and competitiveness. It is also becoming a topic of academic study, with researchers and scholars exploring various questions related to this revolution. Furthermore, the text mentions the Toyota Production System, which promotes efficiency and effective communication in production operations and introduces the concept of Lean Manufacturing, which aims to reduce costs and increase efficiency. The integration of Industry 4.0 with Lean Manufacturing is referred to as “Lean 4.0”. The method used in this article was a questionnaire sent to manufacturing companies in southern Brazil and analyzed the data obtained through the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT), which is presented as a decision-making tool that allows comparing alternatives taking into account multiple criteria. The conclusions of this study show that both the views of senior management and those surveyed consider that the companies involved in this research will be in 5 years, with their Industry 4.0 well developed. On the Lean Manufacturing side, considering only the view of those surveyed, they consider that the companies involved in this study will be in 5 years, with Lean Manufacturing quite developed. The practical contribution of this study shows that the companies participating in the study are committed to adopting advanced manufacturing technologies and practices. This conclusion is important because it indicates that companies are aware of the opportunities and challenges of Industry 4.0 and Lean Manufacturing.

The selection of the best employee is the company's appreciation for the performance of its employees. This can motivate employees to be more motivated at work. To get the names of the best employees, a system is needed that performs the expected selection process and can produce objective and transparent information. In finding the best employees, the company does this by appointing without a reliable enough assessment. Therefore, a decision support system is needed in evaluating employee performance. This research uses the multi-attribute utility theory method. The data processed for this evaluation are 10 samples from CV Aurelia Weida Prima Medan. The evaluation is based on several criteria and weights given. There are 6 data criteria to assess employee performance, namely service (30% weight), integrity (20% weight), commitment (15% weight), discipline (20% weight), cooperation (13% weight), and employee performance (12% weight). From the calculation results, the employee who has the highest score is obtained. Therefore, the maximum value is obtained at A9 = 15.746, and the minimum value is obtained at A1 = 1.410. Analysis Of The Effectiveness Of Using Learning Media During The Covid-19 Period With The Multi-Attribute Utility Theory

Learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic were carried out online with the aim of taking advantage of technological advances using online learning media. All high schools have implemented online learning, one of which is SMAN 1 Bukit Batu. This aims to ensure that the learning process is carried out remotely without having to meet in person. Online learning has advantages and disadvantages that can affect the achievement of learning objectives, especially in theoretical and practical PKOK subjects. So it is necessary to assess learning theory and practice of PJOK to determine the effectiveness of both. Research the use of 6 criteria and compare theoretical and practical PJOK learning models to determine the best model. The method used is Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) with a quantitative approach where data collection is carried out through surveys. There were 193 respondents, namely all 12th grade students of SMAN 1 Bukit Batu as the population in this study. The results of calculations using the MAUT method on the effectiveness of using online learning media during the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in the choice of the Theory subject assessment (0) as the lowest assessment, while the Practice subject (0.32) was the highest assessment. This assessment states that online learning can be said to be effective for practical subjects, while theoretical subjects are more effective if done offline

Implementation of Multi-Attribute Utility Theory Method for Selecting Social Assistance Recipients

Amil Zakat Infaq and Shadaqah Muhammadiyah Institution (LazisMu) Ayah is one of the national amil zakat institutions located in Ayah District, Kebumen Regency. Every month, LazisMu Ayah Service Office provides assistance to people in need in the form of house renovation programs, scholarships for high school or college level education, and business capital. The problem that is often encountered in determining potential aid recipients is that the large number of requests for aid is disproportionate to the number of officers processing the screening data. Apart from that, the selection process for aid recipients still uses manual methods, so it often causes problems such as the selection process for selecting aid candidates taking up to a week and miscalculations occurring, resulting in inaccurate results in the selection of potential aid recipients. Therefore, the method used as a solution model in providing decisions on the system for selecting potential aid recipients at LazisMu Ayah is a decision support system using the multi-attribute utility theory (MAUT) method. This method was chosen because it is able to select the best alternative from a number of alternatives, in this case, the intended alternative is people who are entitled to receive assistance based on 10 criteria. The results of the black box testing show that the system created is in accordance with the design and can be used as a tool. making decisions on determining aid recipients, so that LazisMu Ayah services can be improved because the selection process becomes faster, more accurate, and on target.

Analisis Kelaikan Fungsi Jalan Menggunakan Metode AHP dan Maut pada Ruas Jalan A.H. Nasution (Medan) dan Jalan Ngumban Surbakti (Medan)

Road infrastructure is an important aspect in supporting economic growth and human mobility. Good and safe road conditions will increase the effectiveness and efficiency of transportation. However, in reality, some road sections still do not meet fairly strict standards, both in terms of feasibility and safety. The roads of A.H. Nasution (Medan) and Ngumban Surbakti (Medan) have never undergone a feasibility test before. Therefore, in this study a ranking will be formed to determine the level of feasibility of the function of both. This study was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of A.H. Nasution (Medan) and Ngumban Surbakti (Medan) roads using the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method and the MAUT (Multi-Attribute Utility Theory) method. The data that has been collected will be processed and analyzed using the AHP and MAUT methods. The AHP method and the MAUT method are used to determine the relative weight of each of the factors affecting roadworthiness. Assessment of respondent data using the AHP method obtained the largest weight on road technical by 3.36 on the A.H. Nasution road section and 3.04 on the Ngumban Surbakti road section. While the smallest weight on technical road equipment is 0.592 on the A.H. Nasution road section and the utilization of the road section is 0.3 on the Ngumban Surbakti road section. The assessment of respondents' data using the MAUT method obtained the largest weight on road complementary building structures of 1,265 on the A.H. Nasution road section and 1,140 on the Ngumban Surbakti road section. While the smallest weight on the utilization of road sections is 0.04 on the A.H. Nasution road section and 0.413 on the Ngumban Surbakti road section.

This research assesses the suitability of A.H. Nasution (Medan) and Ngumban Surbakti (Medan) roads using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Multi-Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) methods. The collected data is processed and analyzed using both AHP and MAUT methods to determine the relative weights of factors influencing road suitability. The AHP method, when applied to respondent data, revealed the highest weights for road geometric technical aspects, scoring 3,36 for A.H. Nasution and 3.04 for Ngumban Surbakti. Conversely, the lowest weights were assigned to road equipment technical aspects, with 0,592 for A.H. Nasution, and road section utilization, with 0,3 for Ngumban Surbakti. When employing the MAUT method, the highest weights were attributed to complementary road structure, scoring 1,265 for A.H. Meat Village is a center for making hotang yeast ulos which is carried out by women. The Meat Village Office selects the best yeast hotang ulos craftsmen every year to improve the community's economy and provide enthusiasm for hotang yeast ulos craftsmen who aim to improve the quality of hotang yeast ulos which has criteria for neatness, motifs, and color combinations. The problem faced by the Meat Village office is still using the manual method, especially in determining the best hotang yeast ulos craftsmen in Meat Village. On this occasion the author proposes the selection of hotang yeast ulos craftsmen using a decision support system using the MAUT Method, programming in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 with Visual Basic language and MySQL as a database. From the results of my research I want to help the Meat Village office in determining the best hotang yeast ulos craftsmen in Meat Village by using a Decision Support System using the multi attribute utility theory (MAUT) method. Those who got the best score in selecting hotang yeast ulos craftsmen were A8 on behalf of Ester Simanjuntak with a score of 0.427 as the first rank, A9 with the name Oni Siahaan the value of 0.363 in the second rank and A4 with the name Herbeslina Maharaja the value of 0.344 in the third rank.

Komparasi Metode Maut dan Moora dalam Pemilihan Sunscreen untuk Kulit Menggunakan Pembobotan ROC

The skin is the outer layer of the human body that has various important functions. However, high sun exposure in Indonesia can cause damage to the skin due to ultraviolet rays. The use of sunscreen becomes important in preventing sunburn and skin cancer. Women with combination skin types often have difficulty choosing the right sunscreen. This study applies the Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) and Multi-Objective Optimization on The Basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) methods with the weighting of the Centroid Rank Order (ROC) method and the level of accuracy of MSE aims to produce decisions in choosing the right sunscreen for combination skin. At the methodology stage, data on criteria, sub-criteria, and alternatives are collected through observation and interviews. The criteria consist of 6 namely Benefit, Composition, Price, Vitamins, Side Effects, and Size. The ROC is used for weighting, while the MAUT and MOORA methods are used in the assessment and comparison of alternatives and MSE is used for the level of accuracy. The discoveries from this study hold the possibility to offer recommendations for choosing the best sunscreen for combination skin, namely A7 with the brand sunscreen Somethinc Comfort Correct for the MAUT method is 0.7134 and the MOORA method is 0.102. The results of the MSE calculation obtained a deviation value, namely the MOORA method with a value of 215.0091 better than the MAUT method of 207.4922. So that the MOORA method is the best method in choosing sunscreen for combination skin and aims to help people who are still having difficulty choosing the right sunscreen, so as to avoid mistakes in choosing inappropriate sunscreens that can have a negative impact on the skin

Employees are very important for an agency. It can be said that employees are the driving force of the institution. However, the process of evaluating employee performance which is carried out manually is deemed ineffective, causing decisions that require employee performance appraisal as a reference to be less precise. Therefore, this study aims to create a decision support system for evaluating employee performance that can be taken into consideration for decision making related to employees. This web-based system will use the multi attribute utility theory method in calculating employee performance. This system will calculate employee performance based on several criteria, namely attendance, quality, quantity, discipline and attitude. These criteria will have a weight according to the importance of the criteria. Ranking Universities in Medan Using WoE and IV in Weighting of MAUT

Throughout Indonesia, including Medan, the popularity of a university can be specified by the ranking of a university. There are five assessment components which important for ranking universities under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, Technology and Higher Education, such as the Quality of Human Resources, Institutional Quality, Quality of Student Activities, Quality of Research and Community Service, and Quality of Innovation. Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) is one of the decision support system (DSS) methods that can be used to calculate campus rankings. However, the researcher were determining the weight of MAUT method based on their preferences and it was subjective. Weight of Evidence (WoE) can be used to assign a numerical score to each category of independent variables that describes the strength of its relationship to the target variable. In selecting the independent variable that is most informative and relevant in predicting the target variable, Information Value (IV) can be used. Based on the results, college B is the most popular university out of ten universities in Medan, with the highest evaluation value 0.796296296 using MAUT method and 0.923794719 using MAUT method with WoE & IV. The last position is J college with the lowest evaluation value 0.1666666667 for MAUT method and 0.02540176 for MAUT method with WoE & IV. The weighting of MAUT method with WoE and IV produces more optimal evaluation value than the the original MAUT method.

Boarding House Provider Information with Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) Method

The increasing rate of population growth in urban areas to find work or study and the high Basic Credit Interest Rates for Home Ownership Loans, the choice of renting a boarding house can be an alternative for those who do not want to stay in the long term. Implementation of Decision Support System provide choices for information system in order to assist the community in choosing a place to live such as a boarding house. One method of Decision Support System is Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT). MAUT can be interpreted as method of systematic comparison by finding the total weight of a set of values in the criteria to obtain results. MAUT method on a web-based information system, it can help people determine the choice of the desired boarding house. The results from the MAUT method will be used an objective consideration for users. The results of this study were tested by Technology Acceptance Model to measure the acceptance of systems. The calculation of TAM uses questionnaire distributed to 88 respondents and based on t-statistics on the TAM test, Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU) against Attitude Toward Using (ATU) is 2.660, Perceived Usefulness (PU) against ATU is 4.218. Then Behavior Intention to Use (BITU) for Actual System Use (ASU) is 16,122 and PU for BITU is 4,218. Where the indicator to have a positive influence when the value is above 1.9894. Meanwhile, ATU against BITU is only 1.179 which means that it does not have a positive influence.

 Research aim : The purpose of this study is to present a solution in the form of a web-based system with the Multi Attribute Utility Theory (MAUT) method approach to provide convenience in the employee selection process at CV. Bee Digital Prestasi Nusantara.
 Design/Methode/Approach : The Multi Attribute Utility Theory method approach provides a solution in the form of recommendations for the final results of the selection process which is carried out by conducting an assessment through several alternatives and sub-alternatives multiplied by the weight that has been determined by the company. The method approach was divided into several stages: (1) Submissions and Tests (2) Calculation of Values, Criteria and Weights (3) Ranking.
 Research Finding: The application of the MAUT method can provide effective decisions on the recruitment of prospective employees accepted by the company. The experimental results from the research showed that using MAUT method is able to speed up the recruitment process and can quickly determine prospective employees who match the company's criteria compared to conventional methods.
 Theoretical contribution/Originality : This research result showed that theoretically, MAUT method supports the employee selection process
 Practitionel/Policy implication : The practical implication is that the attributes used in the selection process support the company in getting employees that match their needs
 Research limitation : This method has limitations, namely the range of values is still static. So, it needs improvement in the next research.

Sustainable and Environmental Dyeing with MAUT Method Comparative Selection of the Dyeing Recipe

The textile industry is one of the most complex sectors, in terms of the materials and chemical processes used from petroleum and the environmental degradation during its production and disposal. It is therefore a sector looking for new possibilities and for more sustainable materials and applications. One option is to use natural dyes, as they are considered biodegradable, do not pollute the environment, and have potential use for many sectors, including the fashion industry. In this study, Alanya silk was dyed by a natural dyeing method with crocus sativus, Helichrysum arenarium, and Glycyrrhiza glabra L., plants that grow in and around the Alanya region. Quercus aegilops L. grown in the region was preferred as mordant, a natural binder, and is one of the plants with the highest tannin content, and it was used with a more environmentally friendly and sustainable approach to increase the binding in natural dyeing instead of chemical mordants. The aim is to provide an environmental and scientific contribution to the dyeing producers in this region. According to the MAUT (Multi-Attribute Utility Theory) method, the best dyes in terms of fastness and color efficiency were determined as the dyes made with the Glycyrrhiza glabra L. plant.
