Design And Design Of A Temperature And Humidity Monitoring System For Broiler Chicken Cages Based Internet Of Things (IOT)

In this research, we designed a tool that is used to help chicken farmers to continue their daily activities in raising livestock. Problems often experienced by chicken farmers are frequent theft, and having to check the temperature manually in the coop. So a Security and Temperature Monitoring and Light Control System for Broiler Chicken Cages Based on Internet of Things (IoT) was created using NodeMcu Esp32 as the controller of the entire system. The tools used in this system are, Buzzer, DHT22, LCD 16x2, ESP32, Breadboard, Relay, and Incandescent Lamp. The tool making method uses engineering design methods in making the automation system. The test results show that the system that has been made is able to maintain the temperature in the chicken coop in accordance with the ideal conditions for Broiler chickens.

Design and Implementation of a Temperature Monitoring System in Industrial Environments

Abstract The proposed paper presents the development of a temperature monitoring system designed for industrial environments, based on a Raspberry Pi 3 microcomputer equipped with a touchscreen and a K-type thermocouple connected via the MAX6675 module. The system enables temperature monitoring and recording through an intuitive interface, providing users with real-time visualization and data logging functionalities. The touchscreen interface allows for easy and efficient interaction, enabling operators to quickly access essential information. The system was implemented and tested on an industrial oven capable of reaching temperatures up to 800°C, demonstrating stability and reliability in extreme environmental conditions. Experimental results show that the system provides precise monitoring and enhanced control over high-temperature industrial processes.

Correlation of Vehicle Traffic to Air Quality, Temperature, and Noise in Malang City Through an Internet of Things (IoT) Approach

In response to the issues of air pollution, temperature, and noise, this project attempts to create an air quality, temperature, and noise monitoring system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This system will comprise physical components and a web platform that delivers real-time environmental reports. Users can readily obtain information regarding air quality, temperature, and noise levels via this platform, which takes advantage of the internet's accessibility. This Internet of Things-based device monitors environmental quality in six high-traffic areas in Malang, Indonesia. The system uses various sensors to monitor air quality, temperature, humidity, dust levels, carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), and noise pollution in real-time. Data was collected during peak traffic hours, demonstrating the direct influence of car emissions on air quality. The findings show that some regions' CO and particulate matter levels surpass safe criteria, notably during peak traffic periods, but CO2, humidity, and noise levels are below acceptable norms. These findings highlight the necessity for urban air pollution reduction initiatives. Additional sensor calibration and communication modifications are recommended to increase system accuracy and dependability. This study gives significant insights for local authorities to manage urban environmental quality and safeguard human health.

Study on the Effect of Temperature on the Alignment of a Long-Span Steel–Concrete Composite Beam Track Cable-Stayed Bridge

In order to study the effect of temperature on the alignment of a long-span special track bridge, this paper provides a theoretical basis and technical support for bridge design, construction and later operation. This research established the section model of the steel-hybrid beam by COMSOL, and the internal temperature field, transverse temperature, and vertical temperature gradient were analyzed. The Midas Civil bridge model analysis system was established to investigate the influence of temperature difference and temperature gradient on the vertical deformation of the whole bridge. Based on the temperature and displacement monitoring system of the Chongqing Nanjimen track bridge, the temperature and displacement data in 2023 were obtained for comparative analysis. The results show that the temperature field inside the composite beam presents a nonlinear distribution, the daily temperature difference can reach 26.0 °C, and there is a significant temperature gradient between the steel beam and the concrete. The highest temperature is 60.3 °C at 15:00 when the temperature difference between the upper and lower edges of the concrete slab is 11.1 °C, and the daily transverse temperature gradient is 3.2 °C, 5.3 °C and 7.4 °C, respectively. Under the temperature difference in the system, the maximum displacement of the main beam is 92.3 mm, and the mid-span displacement is 132.1 mm under the positive temperature difference. Based on the measured data for the whole year, it is found that the displacement of the main beam under the combined action of ambient temperature and solar radiation significantly exceeds the influence of a single temperature. The research shows that temperature change has an important impact on the stability and durability of the bridge, and temperature monitoring and management should be strengthened in the design and operation stage to ensure the bridge’s safety and smooth operation of the train.

Ardulake temperature profiler: An open-source, low-cost, automated monitoring system to unravel the mixing behavior of lakes

Understanding the thermal classification of lakes based on mixing regimes is fundamental in limnology. Although this classification has traditionally been considered well-established, recent studies highlight variations in the mixing behaviors of ponds and shallow lakes. This paper introduces the Ardulake temperature profiler, an innovative, simple, and autonomous high-frequency temperature monitoring system designed for shallow to moderately deep lakes (3.5 to 10 m). Utilizing Arduino technology and GPRS telemetry, the system is cost-effective, with electronic components and sensors costing approximately USD 250 and buoy construction and deployment around USD 1000. The Ardulake enables real-time environmental temperature monitoring and data storage on an online platform for subsequent analysis and visualization. The collected data supports ecosystem research and the numerical modeling of thermal behavior in lakes. Key strengths of the system include low production and maintenance costs, replicability, and customization capabilities. Challenges, such as interference from animal activity, are addressed with recommended preventive measures tailored to specific fauna. Overall, the Ardulake temperature profiler offers a practical tool for advancing limnological research, with potential for modification to various environmental monitoring objectives.

Smart Sensor Placement For Thermal Monitoring Of Concrete

Structural health monitoring (SHM) has become an inevitable part in a life span of a structure due to its potential to ensure the public safety and to increase the life span of the structure. Monitoring any kind of structures for various parameters, using wireless smart sensors has gained popularity in recent past. This paper discusses the development of low cost real time wireless smart sensor monitoring system to monitor early age concrete temperature in real time. Temperature of two early age concrete mixes (Mix1, Mix2) were measured in real time for 24 hours by using DS18B20 sensors connected with the Node Mc u, which is an open source IOT platform. Temperature measurements were saved and visualized in real time using Thing Speak TM which is an open IoT online platform with MATLAB analytics. The temperature sensor DS18B20 was selected such that it is suitable to measure temperature readings of the concrete without any interference of the chemical reactions in concrete. Calibration methods and temperature variation with different concrete mixes are also discussed. It could be seen that the wireless temperature monitoring system performed adequately and it can be considered as a better low cost alternative for traditional wired temperature monitoring system.

Development and validation of a controlled heating apparatus for long-term MRI of 3D microfluidic tumor models.

Conventional testing of novel contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) involves cell and animal studies. However, 2D cultures lack dynamic flow and in vivo MRI is limited by regulatory approval of long-term anesthesia use. Microfluidic tumor models (MTMs) offer a cost-effective, reproducible, and high throughput platform for bridging cell and animal models. Yet, MRI of microfluidic devices is challenging, due to small fluid volumes generating low sensitivity. For the first time, an MRI of MTMs was performed at low field strength (1 T) using conventional imaging equipment without microcoils. To enable longitudinal MRI, we developed (1) CHAMP-3 (controlled heating apparatus for microfluidics and portability) which heats MTMs during MRI scans and (2) an MRI-compatible temperature monitoring system. CHAMP-3 maintained chip surface temperature at ~37°C and the media inside at ~35.5°C. Enhanced T1-weighted MRI contrast was achieved in 3D MTMs with free manganese (Mn2+) solutions and Mn2+ labeled tumor cells.

Design of IoT-based monitoring system for temperature and dissolved oxygen levels in catfish aquaculture pond water

<span>One of the fish in Indonesian waters that has been successfully bred and cultivated is the catfish (Pangasius sp.). In catfish farming, there are several water quality factors that need to be considered, such as temperature and dissolved oxygen levels. Based on the existing description, it is very important to pay attention to the water quality of aquaculture ponds, especially temperature and dissolved oxygen levels for fish survival. This study aims to create an internet of things (IoT) based monitoring system for temperature and dissolved oxygen levels in catfish aquaculture pond water based on NodeMCU ESP8266. Monitoring system is using SEN0237 gravity analog dissolved oxygen sensor, DS18B20 sensor module, NodeMCU ESP8266, 20×4-character liquid-crystal display (LCD), micro secure digital (SD) card module, internet modem. Data from measurements of temperature and dissolved oxygen levels are stored online in the Adafruit.io database in the .csv format and on a micro secure digital (SD) card in the device in the .txt format. The lowest value of dissolved oxygen levels and temperature are 3.4 mg/L or 3.4 ppm and a temperature of 27.9 °C, respectively. Meanwhile, the highest value of dissolved oxygen levels and temperature are 4.6 mg/L or 4.6 ppm and temperature of 30.9 °C, respectively.</span>

Heat transfer study on a stator-permanent magnet electric motor: A hybrid estimation model for real-time temperature monitoring and predictive maintenance

When electrical machines operate without a specific cooling system, the surrounding environment plays a crucial role in the rise of temperature and the duty cycle of operation. More clearly, a natural convection cooling system with a low value of heat transfer coefficient carries the risk of thermal breakdown, insufficient safety, and reliability. This paper studies the heat transfer aspects of a low-power flux switching permanent magnet (FSPM) motor under natural convection cooling to implement a novel real-time sensor-less temperature monitoring system. Thermal and electromagnetic experiments are carried out to create foundations for transient and steady-state numerical models. A data-driven, deep learning algorithm estimates the core and permanent magnet (PM) eddy current losses in real-time, besides the already available copper and friction losses. Subsequently, a two-node thermal equivalent circuit in a hybrid model with a feed-forward neural network estimates the dynamic temperature profile of windings and PMs. It is indicated that the worst-case estimation error is below 7.5%, and the configuration is applicable under a wide range of operation states and environmental conditions. Lastly, the system, including the power source, FSPM motor, and hybrid temperature estimation unit, will be implemented in MATLAB/Simulink to investigate the fault prediction and operation management capabilities.

Temperature‐Tunable Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Optical Combiners for Extended Reality Applications

Recent advancements in extended reality (XR) showcase their potential ability to enhance the user experience of traditional displays such as liquid crystal displays and organic light‐emitting diode screens. To achieve this goal, the upcoming generation of head‐mounted displays (HMDs) necessitates a seamless transition between different XR modes, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) modes. Herein, an innovative cholesteric liquid crystal‐ (CLC‐) based optical combiner for HMDs is introduced. This approach enables the display device to switch between AR, VR, and transparent modes via temperature modulation. Since CLC materials demonstrate varying optical properties at different temperatures, a real‐time temperature monitoring system that is paired with an external controller is integrated. This allows for dynamic temperature adjustments of the optical combiner and enables smooth transitions between display modes. Furthermore, the Berreman 4 × 4 matrix method is used to simulate the optical properties of the optical combiner, finding strong agreement with the experimental results. The performance of the tunable optical combiners using 450, 532, and 635 nm laser sources is explored. The findings demonstrate that CLC‐based optical combiners can effectively switch between the three distinct modes at corresponding temperatures, paving the way for versatile applications in future HMDs.

A wearable, self-sustainable, and wireless plantar pressure and temperature monitoring system for foot ulceration prognosis and rehabilitation

Continuous foot temperature and pressure monitoring are desirable for prevention and care of foot health conditions such as Diabetic foot ulceration (DFU). However, monitoring these parameters simultaneously is complex, and mostly rely on sensors with undisrupted power supply integration. Herein, we propose high-performance self-sustainable smart footwear capable of monitoring foot pressure and temperature at various locations for real-time applications. The footwear consists of three modules of an integrated electromagnetic generator (EMG) and triboelectric (TENG) self-powered pressure sensors operated by very elastic 3D printed thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) springs formed by stacking circular plates that allow TENG pressure sensors to be embedded within. Additionally, Laser-induced graphene (LIG) temperature sensors are used for monitoring foot temperature. The embedded EMG can deliver high output power during various activities: walking (38 mW), running (154 mW), and jumping (75 mW), sufficient to power signal processing and transmission circuitries for wireless monitoring of foot temperature and pressure. TENG-based pressure sensors and LIG temperature sensors (LTS) embedded in this design allow mapping of foot pressure (0.2 V/kPa at 1 Hz) and foot temperature (0.55 Ω °C−1) continuously. Finally, footwear was assembled successfully to demonstrate wireless self-sustainable multisensory smart footwear for monitoring foot pressure and temperature to prevent and rehabilitate diabetic foot ulcers.

THE TRAINING OF TEMPERATURE MONITORING SYSTEM WITH LM35 SENSOR BASED ON RESBEERY PI

Abstract. This community service activity aims to train the community on developing and implementing a temperature monitoring system using the LM35 sensor integrated with Raspberry Pi. This training was carried out to improve people's understanding and skills, especially in utilizing microcontroller-based technology and IoT (Internet of Things) in daily life, especially in the field of room temperature or environmental monitoring. This activity involves targets, for example, teachers, students, and technicians, at SMA AL-IRSYAD TEGAL, with training methods that include basic theories about temperature sensors, introduction to Raspberry Pi, and hands-on practice in assembling and programming temperature monitoring systems. The results of this training showed that participants could understand the basic concepts of temperature monitoring systems and could apply the knowledge gained in making simple devices that can measure and display temperature in real time. The activity evaluation showed that most of the participants felt helped by this training and showed high interest in further developing the system that had been studied. In the future, it is hoped that similar activities can continue to be carried out to empower the community to utilize technology for daily needs. Mtoto Wetu Growth and Temperature Monitoring System for Tanzania Child Healthcare Clinics

In most government maternal and child health (MCH) clinics in sub-Saharan countries caregivers rely on manual methods for data acquisition, storage, and analysis, leading to challenges such as errors, inefficiencies, and limited accessibility. Recognising the transformative potential of digital technology, this design aims to innovate the child growth monitoring paradigm by introducing a comprehensive Digitized Child Growth Monitoring System. The "Mtoto Wetu Growth and Temperature Monitoring System" is a comprehensive framework designed to monitor and assess the growth and temperature patterns of infants and young children on a monthly basis. This system integrates various components, including anthropometric measurements, temperature monitoring, immunisation schedule, automated growth chart generation, and parental, caregiver, and health care professionals’ involvement, to provide a holistic approach to child health monitoring. Implemented with standardised protocols, training sessions, and robust data management systems, the monitoring system aims to facilitate early detection of growth abnormalities, and health concerns. By promoting early intervention, preventive care measures, parental empowerment, and continuity of care, the Mtoto Wetu system strives to optimise health outcomes, foster parental engagement, and promote health equity among children. The system was able to provide results with a small amount of error compared to the standard weighing machines, tap measure and digital thermometer

Smart Temperature Monitoring System for Machining Process Using Internet of Things

Outer surface integrity must be maintained throughout the machining process during the production of metal parts, which need the ability to monitor temperatures in real time. Changes in temperature during the machining process lead to changes in the behavior of the product after work is completed.To achieve quality and productivity criteria, the metal parts manufacturing process requires a continuous and precise temperature measuring and monitoring system by using IOT. An intelligent temperature measurement can be used during machining processes on conventional, non-conventional, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines. This paper presents a performance analysis of a temperature measuring system for machining process applications via Arduino IDE. In this proposal, a temperature monitoring system based on Arduino is used. The system would utilize an: MLX90614 infrared thermometer sensor” to measure the temperature of the workpiece during machining processes. The methodology's aim is to use the smart manufacturing model to measure and monitor the arising temperatures throughout the machining process in order to build a new tool path rapidly and efficiently. The placement of a non-contact infrared “MLX90614” temperature sensor allowed measuring of the average cutting temperature as well as the maximum cutting temperature. The data acquisition process was carried out using the “Xampp” Control Panel software, which communicated with the ESP32 “microcontroller” board using the Arduino IDE program. Experiments were carried out, so that the temperature of the cutting, which was measured, was recorded, and the results of the experiments were analyzed. Rancang Bangun Sistem Monitoring Kinerja Main Engine Kapal Berbasis IOT

Main engine is the main driving engine. This research develops a ship's main engine temperature monitoring system using the Blynk application. Thermocouple sensors measure engine temperature and IR Sensor measure RPM, the data is processed by ESP32, and sent to the Blynk cloud server, this research aims to determine the design of a prototype intelligent monitoring system to detect the temperature of a ship's main engine using a Thermocouple sensor, NodeMCU ESP32 which operates at 3.3V power is used as the processing core data. The system design in this research integrates Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Test factors for thermocouple temperature measuring devices and RPM sensors (IR Sensors). The test procedure uses a dynamo as a simulation of the main engine, tested for 5-10 minutes under normal conditions and 5 minutes when the dynamo feels warm to hot.

Proximity-induced FRET and charge-transfer between quantum dots and curcumin enable reversible thermochromic hybrid polymeric films.

This study introduces a novel strategy for developing reversible thermochromic fluorescent films by precisely controlling the nanoscale proximity of boron nitride quantum dots and curcumin molecules within a poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) matrix. The synergistic interaction and Förster resonance energy transfer between these fluorophores result in an energy transfer efficiency of ∼94%. This approach enables tunable color changes in response to temperature variations, governed by the segmental mobility of polymer chains. Practical applications of these films as temperature sensors for water bottles and electronic devices are demonstrated, highlighting their potential in temperature monitoring, smart packaging, and thermal management systems.

Implementation of Solar Panels as an Alternative to Electric Power Used in WiFi-based Freezer Box Temperature Monitoring System (Case Study of NN Frozen Food Wajak)

A freezer box temperature monitoring system using solar panels as alternative power is an important technology to ensure the quality of stored products. This research develops a WiFi-based temperature monitoring system that uses a DS18B20 temperature sensor, a PZEM-004T digital sensor, and an ESP8266 module to read and send real-time data to a website platform. Data is collected through a temperature sensor connected to the ESP8266 microcontroller, then displayed on the LCD screen and uploaded to the server for further monitoring via WiFi connection. The results show that this system successfully maintains the freezer box temperature at optimal conditions with an average temperature value of -24.82°C and a temperature range ranging from -28.81°C to -19.63°C. The voltage values are in the range of 197.10 V - 218.70 V, current between 0.02 A - 1.03 A, and power between 158 W - 186.80 W.
