The aim of the current research is to prioritize Soteriology as a spiritual provision for teenagers to face changes in their attitudes and face the wider social circle of all teenagers who are entering the transition period from childhood to adulthood, which includes all growth and development in relationships because of this the church and family are present. to teach the truth about the realities of life. Qualitative literature study methods are used to obtain accurate data related to this scientific work, the sources are the Bible, books and other articles related to the title discussed. The research results show the doctrine of soteriology and the role of the church as a teaching "agent" in teaching the Word of God because Soterology is the certainty of salvation in the Lord Jesus and is the basis for Christian teenagers to face changes in growth and development including dating up to marriage and refusing to date up to interfaith marriages . The conclusion of this research states that the church and family play a full role in being responsible for the future of teenagers so that they do not choose the wrong boyfriend or girlfriend as their lifelong companion and the church and family advise against choosing a boyfriend who has a different belief, let alone until marriage.

ANALISIS PUISI UHIBBUKI JIDDAN KARYA NIZAR QABBANI: KAJIAN PSIKOANALISA SIGMUND FREUD

In this era, psychoanalysis is widely used as a research method because it examines aspects of psychological principles that exist in literary works, especially the characters of the main characters. Uhibbuki Jiddan poetry seeks to express a deep sincerity of love to the lover. The purpose of this study is to describe the id, ego, and superego of the character Ana in the poem Uhibbuki Jiddan by Nizar Qobbani with a literary psychology approach. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The data obtained from this study lead to a psychological analysis of the literature contained in the poem Uhibbuki Jiddan. There are three psychological structures of a person contained in the psychology of literature proposed by Sigmund Freud, namely the id, ego, and superego. In the Uhibbuki Jiddan poem, the id attached to the character ‘ana’ appears naturally, the ego exists only to obtain pleasure, satisfaction, or momentary pleasure by prioritizing needs and the superego is shown with the sincerity of love.

This study focused on individuals' lives in terms of happiness and aimed to explore the role of cultural and arts education in enhancing personal happiness. To do so, the study utilized Seligman's theory of PERMA, which suggests five elements necessary for sustained happiness enhancement. The research findings revealed the following: firstly, in terms of “Positive Emotion”, arts education was found to foster positive emotions such as joy, excitement, warmth, confidence, trust, optimism, and hope. It was observed that individuals grew through encouragement from peers who learn together with a strong will. Secondly, in terms of “Engagement”, arts education was interpreted as creating significant satisfaction or immersion to the extent that individuals lose track of time. Thirdly, in terms of “Relationships”, arts education played a role in increasing trust not only in oneself but also in learning companions through the process of socializing with others. Fourthly, in terms of “Meaning”, it was confirmed that music and arts education, rather than providing momentary pleasure, led to emotional responses and a sense of values in life, fostering self-esteem. Lastly, in terms of “Accomplishment”, arts education was found to contribute to actively seeking and achieving personal happiness, acquiring a sense of accomplishment.

This study aims to determine the form of popular culture of hedonism and materialism contained in the novel Kami (Not) Sarjana Kertas by J.S Khairen in terms of the sociology of literature. Qualitative research with the object of study is a novel with the title "We (Not) Paper Graduates" by J.S Khairen. The data collection method was obtained from the document technique with the text in the novel Kami (Not) Sarjana Kertas. The results of the study are as follows: First, popular culture in the form of hedonism consists of three forms, namely 1) prioritizing momentary pleasures; 2) contemporary lifestyle; and 3) the use of modern technology. Second, the popular culture of materialism consists of three, namely 1) the material possession of wealth; 2) activities that generate money; and 3) the assumption that money is everything.

This research is based on the clues in the verses of the Koran related to tourism activities. Tourism in Islam is related to trip or travel undertaken by a person, both individually and as a group to go to some area. However, the paradigm of tourism so far is aimed at momentary pleasure, with hedonistic values ​​so that tourism turns into halal tourism. This study aims to describe the verses of the Koran which have messages for the people regarding halal tourism activities. This research approach is qualitative with the data sources are from various literatures. Based on this research, it is found that the verses of the Koran have provided a basis for halal tourism such as traveling together, enjoying God's creation, consuming halal food, and conducting sharia transactions, as well as sharia-compliant tourism activities.

Value system and the deviant behavior of youth

The article is an overview of relationship, which is very important from the point of view of upbringing, between the hierarchy of values preached by youth and the scale of deviant behaviors, including criminal one, that they manifest. The subject dependence, derived from various theoretical concepts, not necessarily based on the sociology of deviation or criminology (e.g. The learning theory), clearly indicates that the system of values of the youth exhibiting deviant behavior is different from the value system of adolescents whose socialization and upbringing is proceeding properly. The first mentioned group is mainly focused on the fruition of individual needs - often taking "shortcuts", they assess professional work and participation in social life differently. They highly value the so-called turbulent life (frequent changes, risks, fun, humor and momentary pleasures). They tend to accept the internal norms of their own (anti-social) group that perceives the environment in a similar way, but do not include the so-called social standards in their behaviors.

Disentangling Reward Processing in Trichotillomania: 'Wanting' and 'Liking' Hair Pulling Have Distinct Clinical Correlates.

Trichotillomania (TTM; hair-pulling disorder) is characterized by an irresistible urge or desire to pull out one's own hair, and a sense of pleasure when hair is pulled out. Evidence from translational neuroscience has shown that 'wanting' (motivation to seek a reward) and 'liking' (enjoyment when reward is received) are each mediated by overlapping but distinct neural circuitry, and that 'wanting' contributes to addictive/compulsive behaviors more so than 'liking'. In the present study, we developed the Hair Pulling Reward Scale (HPRS), a self-report measure that consists of two subscales designed to assess (a) cue-triggered urges and appetitive motivation to pull hair (i.e., putative correlates of 'wanting'), and (b) momentary pleasure and gratification during pulling episodes (i.e., putative correlates of 'liking'). We administered the HPRS to 259 individuals with TTM and examined its psychometric properties. Confirmatory factor analysis supported a two-factor model reflecting correlated Wanting and Liking scales. Consistent with predictions, Wanting, much more than Liking, had robust correlations with TTM severity, impulsiveness, difficulties in emotion regulation, psychiatric symptoms, and sleep dysfunction. The results suggest that the HPRS is a psychometrically sound instrument that can be used as a symptom-level measure of reward processing in TTM.

Preparative HPLC for large scale isolation, and salting-out assisted liquid\u2013liquid extraction based method for HPLC\u2013DAD determination of khat (Catha edulis Forsk) alkaloids

BackgroundKhat (Catha edulis Forsk) is an evergreen shrub of the Celastraceae family. It is widely cultivated in Yemen and East Africa, where its fresh leaves are habitually chewed for their momentary pleasures and stimulation as amphetamine-like effects. The main psychostimulant constituents of khat are the phenylpropylamino alkaloids: cathinone, cathine and norephedrine.ResultsIn this study, simple procedures based on preparative HPLC and salting-out assisted liquid–liquid extraction (SALLE) based methods were developed respectively for large scale isolation and the extraction of psychoactive phenylpropylamino alkaloids; cathinone, cathine and norephedrine, from khat (Catha edulis Forsk) chewing leaves, a stimulant and drug of abuse plant. The three khat alkaloids were directly isolated from the crude oxalate salt by preparative HPLC–DAD method with purity > 98%. In addition, a modified (SALLE) method has been developed and evaluated for the extraction efficiency of psychoactive phenylpropylamino alkaloids from khat (Catha edulis Forsk) chewing leaves. An in situ two steps extraction protocol was followed without dispersive SPE clean up. The method involves extraction of the samples with 1% HAc and QuEChERS salt (1.0 g of CH3COONa and 6.0 g of MgSO4) followed by subsequent in situ liquid–liquid partitioning by adding ethyl acetate and NaOH solution. The optimized method allowed recoveries of 80–86% for the three alkaloids from khat sample with relative standard deviation (RSD) values less than 15% and limits of detection (0.85–1.9 μg/mL).ConclusionThe method was found to be simple, cost-effective and provides cleaner chromatogram with good selectivity and reproducibility. The SALLE based protocol provided as good results as the conventional extraction method (ultrasonic assisted extraction followed by solid phase extraction, UAE–SPE) and hence the method can be applicable in forensic and biomedical sectors.

Lytton Strachey's first major work, Eminent Victorians, made a revolutionary gesture by giving the lives of its famous subjects ironic treatment, atypical of the serious genre of biography. His highly stylized lives were readable, but his campiness brought critical backlash from the institutional gatekeepers. This dismissal took the same form of homophobic panic that attended writers of aestheticism. Engaging recent constellations of queer style and queer temporality, I argue that Strachey's prose style is a kind of planned obsolescence, in the model of manufacturing schemes to promote demand for yearly updates. Planned obsolescence gives us a new way to look at innovation in styles and canon formation. The continual drive for innovation we think of as modernism is the same demand for novelty in any other commodity. Strachey's work disrupts the conservative modernist reaction to the perceived threat of commodity culture and calls into question its preservation of hierarchies of distinction. Strachey emphasizes momentary pleasure, not the future, and this opens an aesthetic resistance to the collusion of literature and the marketplace, both in its impact on aesthetic form and in its institutionalization in literary studies.

"I felt sad and did not enjoy life": Cultural context and the associations between anhedonia, depressed mood, and momentary emotions.

The meanings of "anhedonia" and "depressed mood," the cardinal emotional symptoms of major depression, may be shaped by cultural norms regarding pleasure and sadness. Thirty-two European Americans, 26 Hispanic Americans, 33 Asian Americans, and 20 Russian Americans provided reports of (a) depressive symptoms, (b) momentary emotions and pleasure, and (c) global subjective well-being. Momentary reports were collected over 10 days using handheld personal digital assistants. Reports of anhedonia were associated with heightened levels of momentary low arousal negative emotions (e.g., sadness), whereas reports of depressed mood were associated with dampened levels of momentary positive emotions (e.g., happiness). Symptoms of anhedonia and depressed mood interacted in their associations with momentary pleasure. In addition, the associations of anhedonia and depressed mood with positive emotions and life satisfaction differed across cultural groups. Specifically, these symptoms were associated with dampened positive emotions in the Asian American group only. Additionally, anhedonia was associated with dampened global life satisfaction in the European American group only. These results suggest that reports of anhedonia and depressed mood cannot be interpreted at face value as specific and culture-free indicators of emotional deficits. Instead, they appear to signal changes in the balance of positive and negative emotions, with the exact nature of these signals shaped at least in part by cultural context. This conclusion has important consequences for the clinical interpretation of depressive symptoms in multicultural societies.

Orientations to happiness and the experience of everyday activities

The orientation to happiness framework proposes that individuals seek well-being through three behavioral orientations: Pleasure, meaning, and engagement. We investigated how orientations to happiness (OTH) influenced the pursuit and experience of daily activities using experience sampling methods. One hundred and seventy three people responded to three text messages per day for seven days asking how they felt about their current activity. Most participants did not report a dominant orientation to happiness, and the highest rated orientation receiving did not predict which daily activities participants engaged in most. However, trait orientation to happiness related to how activities were experienced. Individuals scoring highly on all three orientations rated their activities highly on momentary pleasure, meaning, engagement, and happiness. Overall, it appears more important for daily well-being to have a balanced and strong portfolio of the three OTH than to have any one particularly dominant orientation.

After his enlightenment, he encouraged others to do the same: renounce the world of the senses to seek liberation from suffering. The monks and nuns that followed the Buddha's teachings formed a kind of sexless society, a society that did not reproduce itself biologically.' By abstaining from sexual relations, Buddhist monastics intended to reduce attachment and model an alternative to lay life. Buddhist society would continue via transmission of the teachings, a spiritual form of continuity not dependent on sex. But of course, the Buddha was teaching ordinary people with ordinary appetites for sexual contact. And these appetites could really get in the way of spiritual progress; thus we find no shortage of Buddhist commentary on sexuality and its ramifications. And despite 2,500 years of wisdom on this subject, Buddhist teachers and students are still blundering into sexual contacts that undermine their own progress and often the progress of others. Clearly this is not a human fallibility that can be corrected by setting up some simple rules. In fact, sexuality is one of the most deeply hard-wired neurological drives of the human organism, not easily uprooted even for lofty spiritual ideals. From a Buddhist perspective, working with sexuality is working with attachment. How can we understand that attachment in its biological origins?
