In Seismically active areas, Moment resistant frames are widely used since the beams and columns are connected in a rigid manner. Over the years, numerous techniques have emerged to strengthen the moment connections. Despite the fact that modern methods have increased bolt and weld strength, the weld is still regarded acceptable for moment connections. From the in-depth analysis conducted after the Northridge earthquake, the researchers found that the failure of the structure was mainly due to connections. The performance assessment of moment connections is discussed in this study mainly for the Indian profiles under cyclic activity. The moment capacity of the connection is strengthened by the inclusion of RBS region in the beam. The Specimen without RBS and Specimens with RBS have been designed and evaluated using the Finite element ABAQUS program. The specimen with RBS consists of the reduction of flange by means of introducing cuts and holes. From this study, it is observed that the section with RBS performed well than the section without RBS.
