Non-functional requirements (NFRs) are related to customers’, users’ and developers’ expectations of information systems (IS) quality level. Generally, the identification of these non-functional properties is performed ad-hoc, notwithstanding the organisational business needs of where the system will operate, and performed further in the development process. This work presents the definition of a systematic path to NFRs identification, based on organisational business models. At the end of this research evaluation is expected of the business model potential as an instrument to identify NFRs from the beginning of a development process, and to improve the customers’, users’ and developers’ participation and commitment to this task.
