Analysis of Factor Causing Nomophobia in Adolescents: A Meta- Analysis Study

This study aims to provide more in-depth knowledge of the underlying reasons, possible risk factors, and protective variables associated with nomophobia in this demographic group by combining data from various studies. The word “nomophobia” describes a group of actions or symptoms associated with smartphone use. It is considered a contemporary phobia caused by society's interaction with mobile information and communication technology, especially cell phones. Nomophobia, the fear or worry that arises when someone is separated from their smartphone, has become a problem in today's digitally connected culture. This research uses meta-analysis research methods. Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA 2020) were used in this study. Studies published between 2013 and 2023 were the focus of the search. Factors that influence nomophobia include Duration of Smartphone Use, Dependence on Social Media and the Internet, Compulsive and Obsessive Behavior, Social Relationships and Mental Health, Mindfulness, and Demographic Factors such as gender, employment status, parental education, and level of education. The results of this search provide in-depth information about the characteristics and causes of nomophobia, highlighting the need for focused treatment and support networks to address this increasing problem among adolescents. This meta-analysis seeks to close this gap by methodically investigating the elements that lead to adolescent nomophobia.

Resilience Assessment and Improvement Strategies for Urban Haze Disasters Based on Resident Activity Characteristics: A Case Study of Gaoyou, China

The popularisation of mobile information technology has provided access to the living habits and activity trajectories of residents and enabled the accurate measurement of the impact of urban haze disasters on residents’ lives, supporting urban haze risk response. Using the main urban area of Gaoyou City as a case study, this study identifies the spatial range and trajectory characteristics of the daily activities of residents in a haze disaster environment, based on air pollution monitoring and resident travel positioning data. We constructed an evaluation index system to measure the corresponding relationship between residential activities and haze disasters. The results indicate that the interference with residential activities and the adaptability of built environments are key indicators for evaluating urban resilience in haze environments, with weights of 0.57 and 0.43, and correlation indices of 0.67 and 0.81, respectively. The interference with residential activities and the adaptability of built environments exhibit spatial characteristics of cold and hot ‘multi-core’ agglomeration and ‘strip’ agglomeration, respectively. Specific indicators show that the residential activity exposure index is significantly influenced by the built environment factor index, with the vegetation coverage index showing a significant positive correlation (0.837) and the public transportation facility accessibility index showing a significant negative correlation (−1.242). Planning should focus on improving the adaptability of the built environment or reducing the interference with residential activities and enhancing the matching degree of the two at the spatial facility level.

Agro-Based Mobile Apps Adoption among Bangladeshi Farmers at the ‘Hamlet’ of Bangladesh – A Case Study of Chandpura Village of Barisal

Farmers in Bangladesh are gradually adopting and using ICT-based agricultural applications. This study attempted to identify the factors influencing the use of agro-based mobile applications by farmers in Chandpura village of Barisal district. The study examined farmers' access to ICT in terms of smartphone ownership, internet access, their ICT use behaviour for agriculture, and their knowledge and use of agro-based mobile applications. The research was conducted following the principles of qualitative methods in case studies. For data collection and analysis, in-depth interviews, semi-structured questionnaires, and narrative data analysis were utilised. The results showed that farmers were primarily influenced by personal factors such as need, age, education, and satisfaction. The youth were more receptive to innovations because they were more educated and adaptable. In addition, technological factors, such as access to a device and the internet, digital knowledge, ease of use, and a support network, played a significant role in this regard. While the study helped us understand the significance of ICT technology for the continued development of the agricultural sector, market and weather information were neglected in agro apps for small villages where disease, market, and weather information took precedence. Before implementing any technology, it is crucial to conduct research on the population and their specific needs. The implication is that the study helped us comprehend the significance of ICT technology for the advancement of the agriculture sector, even in small villages, and how implementing an ICT-based "agricultural advisory service" supported and benefited farmers. Merging transport network companies and taxis in Curitiba’s BRT system

AbstractThe Brazilian city of Curitiba became known around the world for pioneering bus rapid transit (BRT) in the 1970s. Five decades later, public transport ridership is declining on the city’s bus-based system. One-person car trips and car ownership are soaring, and services provided by transport network companies rapidly proliferate and then disappear as congestion worsens and expands across the road network. This was the macro-scale scenario for mobility and modal trends in Curitiba until COVID-19 brought things to a screeching halt in 2020. The widespread use of information and communication technologies has allowed taxi and car ride-hailing transport network schemes to emerge while blurring the lines between public and private and individual and collective transport, locally as well as globally. In 2016, transport network company systems, apps, private cars, services, drivers and passengers disrupted Curitiba’s longstanding and well-regulated taxi system and market for licenses. In 2023, hailing a cab or a shared ride feels and costs the same for passengers (now customers). This study investigates whether these actors and technologies compete with or complement each other in this city, locating and quantifying the benefits for passengers of merging taxi and car ridesharing with the BRT system as first- and last-mile transport to and from BRT corridors. We developed mobile information and communication technologies and acquired, processed, and analyzed millions of data points for passenger location on BRT, ordinary bus, and taxi trips at the city scale. The shareability index for Curitiba’s taxi or car rides was calculated, demonstrating that 60% of all taxi trips have the potential to serve as first- and last-mile transport solution to and from the BRT terminals, stations, and corridors and that nearly 40% of taxi trips both originate and end near (< 500 m) this BRT system infrastructure. By envisioning how transport network companies could merge into the built environment thanks to urban transport digitization, we have developed a model for integrating public transport with the analytic framework of transport network companies that could be deployed in other cities with similar challenges related to public transport, sociotechnical arrangements, system complexity, policymaking, and planning.

An English course practice evaluation system based on multi-source mobile information and IoT technology

With the increased use of online English courses, the quality of the course directly determines its efficacy. Recently, various industries have continuously employed Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which has considerable scene adaptability. To better supervise the specific content of English courses, we discuss how to apply multi-source mobile Internet of Things information technology to the practical evaluation system of English courses to boost the performance of English learning evaluation. Therefore, by analyzing the problems of existing English course evaluation and the characteristics of multi-source mobile Internet of Things information technology, this article designs an English course practical evaluation system based on multi-source data collection, processing, and analysis. The system can collect real-time student voices, behavior, and other data through mobile devices. Then, analyze the data using cloud computing and data mining technology and provide real-time learning progress and feedback. We can demonstrate that the accuracy of the evaluation system can reach 80.23%, which can effectively improve the efficiency of English learning evaluation, provide a new method for English teaching evaluation, and further improve and optimize the English education teaching content to meet the needs of the actual teaching environment.

Decomposing mode-specific values of travel time savings with respect to different levels of travel-based multitasking: A revealed preference study

There is ample evidence that the VTTS of public transport (PT) users is lower than that of car drivers and dropped further in recent years. One reason could be the better conditions for multitasking in PT, which improve continuously with the availability of mobile information and communication technologies. While this was addressed in several stated preference studies, revealed preference studies are scarce. None of them estimated the effect of multitasking on the VTTS and how this effect depends on activity types and travel modes. We estimate the effect of multitasking on the VTTS of PT users and car drivers using revealed preference data from a weeklong mobility and activity survey in Austria. Multitasking activities were allocated to two levels depending on whether they can be performed while driving (level 1) or not (level 2). In our two-stage modelling approach, stage 1 predicts the multitasking behaviour in non-chosen modes, while stage 2 uses these predictions to estimate the effect of multitasking on the VTTS using a mode choice model as utility framework. We find that the VTTS of PT users is lower than that of car drivers even without multitasking (5.50 vs. 14.32 €/h) and further drops with different levels of multitasking (3.95 and 3.35 €/h for levels 1 and 2), whereas the VTTS of car drivers drops only insignificantly to 14.05 €/h with level 1multitasking. The results emphasise the importance of good multitasking conditions alongside fast connections for the choice of PT.

Residents’ online shopping behavior characteristics in China during COVID-19 pandemic: The case of Guangzhou

With the burgeoning development of mobile information and communication technologies (MICTs) as well as the popularization of smartphones, online shopping behaviors have progressively penetrated people’s everyday lives. The outbreak of COVID-19 and its consequent implementation of prevention and control policies have expanded the target audience of online shopping, which has also complicated the mechanism of online shopping behaviors. This study used structural equation modeling to explore how and why the pandemic factors have influenced the characteristics of residents’ online shopping behaviors in urban China experiencing rapidly advancing MICTs to extend the discourse on online shopping behaviors. This study found that the gap in individuals’ online shopping expenses between the central urban and suburban areas was slightly narrower than in normal times. This is primarily because the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing policies, technological innovation, and the type of purchase item intertwined as a geographical balancer in lessening the extant smart divide. Moreover, residents’ consumption preference during COVID-19 had a positive effect on their online shopping behaviors, mainly because online shopping offered a relatively safe way to minimize the risk of infection during the pandemic. Individuals with advantaged income and educational levels tended to shop online more frequently than the disadvantaged, suggesting that online shopping became a new component of the smart divide during the pandemic. The findings of this study can contribute to the further understanding of the impact of COVID-19 on individuals’ shopping behaviors, and provide references for the transformation of urban retail space.

Designing personalised mHealth solutions: An overview

IntroductionMobile health, or mHealth, is based on mobile information and communication technologies and provides solutions for empowering individuals to participate in healthcare. Personalisation techniques have been used to increase user engagement and adherence to interventions delivered as mHealth solutions. This study aims to explore the current state of personalisation in mHealth, including its current trends and implementation. Materials and MethodsWe conducted a review following PRISMA guidelines. Four databases (PubMed, ACM Digital Library, IEEE Xplore, and APA PsycInfo) were searched for studies on mHealth solutions that integrate personalisation. The retrieved papers were assessed for eligibility and useful information regarding integrated personalisation techniques. ResultsOut of the 1,139 retrieved studies, 62 were included in the narrative synthesis.Research interest in the personalisation of mHealth solutions has increased since 2020. mHealth solutions were mainly applied to endocrine, nutritional, and metabolic diseases; mental, behavioural, or neurodevelopmental diseases; or the promotion of healthy lifestyle behaviours. Its main purposes are to support disease self-management and promote healthy lifestyle behaviours. Mobile applications are the most prevalent technological solution. Although several design models, such as user-centred and patient-centred designs, were used, no specific frameworks or models for personalisation were followed. These solutions rely on behaviour change theories, use gamification or motivational messages, and personalise the content rather than functionality. A broad range of data is used for personalisation purposes. There is a lack of studies assessing the efficacy of these solutions; therefore, further evidence is needed. DiscussionPersonalisation in mHealth has not been well researched. Although several techniques have been integrated, the effects of using a combination of personalisation techniques remain unclear. Although personalisation is considered a persuasive strategy, many mHealth solutions do not employ it. ConclusionsOpen research questions concern guidelines for successful personalisation techniques in mHealth, design frameworks, and comprehensive studies on the effects and interactions among multiple personalisation techniques.

Mobility in the information society: a holistic model

Ukraine’s National Strategy for Education Development aims to align its education system with global standards and sustainable development goals. One of the key objectives is to integrate higher education with European norms, offer diverse educational models, and meet information and communication needs. The European Commission supports this integration process by fostering initiatives such as the Bologna process, mobility, and cooperation with programs like Erasmus+. Mobility, enabled by information and communication technologies, is essential for building the European educational and scientific space. This paper explores the different aspects of mobility, such as geographic, social, professional, academic, learning, software, hardware, and technological mobility. It investigates how they relate to each other within socio-pedagogical and technical systems, highlighting their importance for the information society. Using historical and contemporary perspectives, the paper develops a holistic model of mobility in the information society. Future research directions include the dynamic evolution of mobility within higher education systems, its sociocultural implications, and its intersection with technological innovations and state-political transformations. Furthermore, the phenomenon of mobility in technological and pedagogical systems, driven by the spread of mobile information and communication technologies, deserves more attention.

Мобильные информационные и коммуникационные технологии для повышения эффективности оказания первой помощи: обзор научных публикаций

Summary. The objectives of the study are to analyze international scientific experience in the application of mobile information and communication technologies to improve the effectiveness of first aid provision and first aid training; to identify the main directions of scientific research and gaps in the existing scientific knowledge on these issues. Materials and research methods. In the bibliographic databases PubMed and Scopus the search of English-language scientific articles was performed, in the Google Scholar database — Russian-language scientific articles on the topic of the study, published in the period from 2003 to 2022 inclusive, were searched. Additionally, we searched for works in the article lists of sources of the found publications. The bibliographic information management software Zotero version 6.0.18 (Corporation for Digital Scholarship, USA) was used to collect, save and systematize the search results and remove duplicates. The selected studies were subjected to descriptive thematic analysis. Results of the study and their analysis. The leading directions of scientific research in the area were identified, and it was found that, with a significant thematic and methodological heterogeneity of works and ambiguity of the results obtained, the accumulated scientific data in general indicate a high prospect of using mobile technologies in the field of improving training in the provision and delivery of first aid. It is noted that at present the researches are mainly focused on: creation of systems for remote operational notification and accompaniment to the place of event of volunteers, pre-trained in first aid provision and included in the corresponding programs by means of crowdsourcing; development of mobile tools for assessment and maintenance of quality of first aid rendering and multimedia instructions on provision of first aid in real time, as well as on development of mobile technologies for training in rendering first aid. The performed studies are mainly aimed at improving the effectiveness of first aid delivery in cardiac arrest, and there are few works devoted to the development of mobile tools for improving first aid training or first aid delivery in other conditions.

Some aspects of the use of information and communication and digital technologies /»video conference mode»/, software products during proceedings, relevant technical and procedural mechanisms of application, storage (archiving) of evidentiary information, and their regulation in domestic and other countries' legislation were studied. The use of the latest technologies during judicial proceedings becomes relevant in the case of the impossibility of a person's «physical presence» to participate in certain procedural (investigative) actions, court proceedings: in the event of an artificial or natural situation declared (introduced) in the state, a state of martial law, a state of emergency, implementation measures to ensure national security and defense, repel armed aggression of the Russian Federation. In the development of innovative technologies, individual problems that arise before the participants of criminal proceedings are subject to a fairly quick and, most importantly, operational solution with the help of modern information and communication technologies and products. If at the stages of the pre-trial investigation or trial of the case, the direct participation of a person is impossible due to objective reasons; the competent persons have given the legal permission to decide on the conduct of individual investigative or procedural actions in video conference mode. The most rational, in this context, are software products related to the improvement of telecommunication networks, in particular, the use of online services and platforms. It is only possible to single out the rapid development of mobile information technologies, particularly the mobile Internet. This field of communication all over the world, and in Ukraine as well, is mastering new standards that allow for faster and better exchange of information.

The Motivation and Behavior of Socialized Reading Users from the Perspective of Mimicry Theory: Taking Wechat Reading as an Example

Thanks to the rapid development of mobile Internet and information technology, the way of public reading is undergoing profound changes. Social reading based on interaction and sharing has become a new trend in digital reading. In this paper, taking WeChat reading as an example, starting from the perspective of "mimicry theory," the stage setting, foreground performance, script management, drama class maintenance, and other elements of the "mimicry theory" presented by WeChat reading are analyzed, and then explore the self-presentation of WeChat reading users in social reading. Further, we will investigate the communication mechanism behind the rapid development of the social reading platform and the resulting problems.

Current situation and reflections of IT teaching in junior high school--taking the learning of excel as an example

With the rapid development of the Internet and mobile information technology, the state has made it clear that "Internet¬+" education has become an important development project for national education. Information technology education is also playing an increasingly important role in the development of students, and online and offline hybrid teaching is a teaching mode that is very suitable for information technology. Online and offline blended teaching is a new teaching model that has emerged in the mobile internet era, and is a combination of online learning and the advantages of traditional teaching. However, there are still problems with online and offline blended teaching such as uncertainty in the use of educational resources, so a more appropriate teaching process system needs to be tapped to achieve better teaching results.

Distance and Efficiency Enhancement With Aspherical Retroreflectors for Resonant Beam SWIPT

The resonant beam system (RBS) with double spherical retroreflectors presents a potential mobile simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technology without any tracking control. However, the movement distance and performance are limited due to the effect of spherical aberration. To improve mobility performance in RBS, including movement distance and output power, we adopt an aspherical lens as the focusing mirror in a retroreflector. By shifting the beam phase distribution, the aspherical lens focuses all passing beams, particularly edge beams, on the focal mirror, enhancing energy concentration in the resonant cavity. The beam field propagation through cat’s-eye retroreflectors, gain medium, and air is studied for analyzing the transfer efficiency and output power, and we demonstrate that the axial movement distance in the aspherical resonator is about 7 m, which is more than twice as far away as the spherical resonator. Within a field of view of 3° at a distance of <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$1~\rm {m}$ </tex-math></inline-formula> , the output power of the aspherical resonator is greater than that of the spherical resonator with the same movement angle, up to two times. The maximum output electric power and spectral efficiency are approximately <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$4~\rm {W}$ </tex-math></inline-formula> and <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$12~\rm {bps/Hz}$ </tex-math></inline-formula> , respectively.

Assessing the Effects of Financial Inclusion on Reducing Poverty and Income Inequality in South Asia: Evidence from a CS-ARDL Approach

This study aims to examine the effects of financial inclusion on poverty reduction and income inequality with a focus on South Asian economies from 2004 to 2020 by employing dynamic panel models augmented with a comprehensive composite financial inclusion index and a set of well-known macroeconomic predictors. The primary results confirm the long-run relationships between financial inclusion, poverty headcount ratio and the Gini index, while the results of the cross-sectionally augmented autoregressive distributed lags model indicate that financial inclusion is significantly effective in reducing poverty and income disparities. Moreover, the findings reveal that real per capita income, institutional quality, age dependency ratio, credit to the private sector, inflation rate, school enrolment rate, trade openness, ratio of mobile users, and information and communication technologies are highly significant in intermediating the aggregate effects of financial inclusion on reducing poverty and income inequality. The findings clearly show that the greater impact of financial inclusion on reducing poverty and income inequality is primarily based on the development, enhancement and promotion of financial inclusion in South Asian economies, where the financially excluded segment constitutes a significant proportion of society.

Distance learning during COVID-19 pandemic: mobile information and communications technology overview

The research is aimed at the theoretical justification, development and experimental verification of methods of using mobile technologies for teaching students of higher education institutions in the conditions of quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the study is the adaptation of mobile ICT to distance learning during quarantine. The object of the study is the use of mobile ICT for distance learning. The subject of the study: the use of mobile ICT for distance learning during quarantine. Ukrainian and foreign research on the application of mobile ICT (Audience Response Systems; Mobile Multimedia Authoring Tools development; Mobile Learning Management Systems; Mobile Modeling and Programming Environments; Mobile Database Management Systems) for the training of higher education applicants has been analyzed. The author's method of using the mobile modeling and programming tool in the Pydroid environment is presented. A comparative assessment of the functionality of five mobile ICT distance learning systems in the conditions of COVID-19 was carried out. A survey of the importance of using mobile ICT for distance learning in quarantine conditions was developed and analyzed.

Network Public Opinion Risk Prediction and Judgment Based on Deep Learning: A Model of Text Sentiment Analysis.

Under the background of the gradual development and popularization of mobile Internet information technology, this paper realizes network public opinion monitoring and emotion analysis based on the deep learning method, aiming at the research needs of people's ideological changes and emotional trends. Aiming at the shortcomings of sentiment dictionaries or machine learning methods in sentiment analysis tasks, this paper builds a sentiment classification model based on deep learning methods. First, the current main text preprocessing methods are introduced, and then a sentiment classification model, BCBL, is proposed, combining BERT, CNN, and Bi LSTM. Compared with traditional models, BCBL can better complete text sentiment classification tasks on standard datasets. Next, in view of the problem that BCBL does not consider the distribution of vocabulary weights, an attention mechanism is introduced to improve BCBL, and then the BCBL-Att model is proposed. Set up multiple sets of comparative experiments again and find that the classification effect and overall performance of BCBL-Att on standard datasets are better than BCBL, indicating that BCBL-Att has more advantages in text sentiment classification tasks.

Mobile information technology's impacts on service innovation performance of manufacturing enterprises

PurposeGiven the rapid adoption of intelligent and digital manufacturing among the current business environment, emerging mobile information technology (MIT) becomes an ever more important factor, driving innovations in manufacturing sectors. This paper analyzes the impact of MIT on innovation service performance in manufacturing firms and builds a model structuring the mechanisms of this information technology. Design/methodology/approachThis paper proposes a theoretical model and derives a set of hypotheses based on the dynamic capability theory and innovation diffusion theory. Data used in this paper is collected via surveying 462 manufacturing firms in China using valid questionnaires. Statistical analysis, such as the AMOS method, is then carried out using the data collected to investigate and identify influencing factors upon which to build the model and test the hypotheses. FindingsThis paper presents findings that indicate MIT having a direct impact on a firm's service innovation capabilities (SIC) and service innovation performance (SIP). In particular, SIC continuously drives the growth of SIP in a firm, and hence acts as a mediating factor. Moreover, results indicate that both SIC and SIP varies with the strength of innovation network in each firm, while the moderated mediating effect of SIC remains constant. In other words, the performance of service innovation was not to be impacted by certain basic conditions of firms. Originality/valueThis paper is the first attempt to investigate the relationship between the manufacturing industry and advanced technology adoption of enterprise innovation networks and service innovation capabilities. Results are application for adaptation in firms within the manufacturing industry regarding adoption of such advanced technology, such as MIT, and are supportive of these firms constructing enterprise innovation networks and investing in efforts to shape service innovation capabilities. Findings suggests that initiatives associated with adoption of advanced technology are likely to improve service transformation abilities and service innovation performance.
