Adoption of Mobile Government Cloud from the Perspective of Public Sector

Mobile cloud computing (MCC) has been widely used in every aspect of our society, bringing both advantages and challenges. However, the adoption of MCC technology is still at an early stage of implementation in the governments. To promote the adoption and diffusion of MCC in the government area, exploring the determinants and influence mechanisms of mobile cloud computing-based government (m-Gov cloud) adoption has become the focus in academic and industry. Based on the technology-organization-environment framework and trust theory at the organizational level, an integrated model including the determinants on the adoption of m-Gov cloud is proposed, and 93 survey samples from China are used to analyzed by partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that provider competence, organizational readiness, external pressure, and trust of m-Gov cloud have significant effects on m-Gov cloud adoption. Perceived benefit, perceived risk, and provider competence have significant effects on m-Gov cloud trust. The m-Gov cloud trust plays an indirect-only (full) mediation and a complementary (partial) mediation effect between perceived benefit, provider competence, and m-Gov cloud adoption, respectively, while perceived risk has no significant direct and indirect effect on m-Gov cloud adoption. The findings provide a new research perspective and practice insights to promote the implementation of solutions based on the idea of mobile cloud computing.

Cuckoo-Neural Approach for Secure Execution and Energy Management in Mobile Cloud Computing

Along with an explosive growth in mobile appli-cations and the emergence of the concept of cloud computing, in mobile cloud computing (MCC) has been familiarized as a potential technology for mobile users. Employing MCC to enable mobile users to realize the benefits of cloud computing in an environment friendly way is an effective strategy to meet today’s industrial demands. With the ever-increasing demand for MCC technology, energy efficiency has become extremely relevant in mobile cloud computing infrastructure. The concept of mobile cloud computing offers low cost and high availability to the mobile cloud users on pay-per-use basis. However, the challenges such as resource management and energy consumption are still faced by mobile cloud providers. If the allocation of the resources is not managed in a secure manner, the false allocation will lead to more energy consumption. This article demonstrates the importance of energy-saving mechanisms in cloud data centers and elaborates the importance of the “energy efficiency” relationship to promote the adoption of these mechanisms in practical scenarios. The utilization of resources are being maximized by minimizing the energy consumption. To achieve this, an integrated approach using Cuckoo Search (CS) with Artificial Neural network (ANN) is presented here. Initially, the Virtual Machines (VMs) are sorted as per their CPU utilization using Modified Best Fit Decreasing Approach (MBFD). This suffers from the increase in Service Level Agreement (SLA) violation along with many VM migrations. If the migration is not done at an appropriate host, which can hold the VM for long, Service Level Agreement Violation (SLAV) will be high.

Prediction-based secured handover authentication for mobile cloud computing

Mobile cloud computing (MCC) is a new technology that brings cloud computing and mobile networks together. It enhances the quality of service delivered to mobile clients, network operators, and cloud providers. Security in MCC technology, particularly authentication during the handover process, is a big challenge. Current vertical handover authentication protocols encounter different problems such as undesirable delays in real-time applications, the man in the middle attack, and replay attack. In this paper, a new authentication protocol for heterogeneous IEEE 802.11/LTE-A mobile cloud networks are proposed. The proposed protocol is mainly based on the view of the 3GPP access network discovery and selection function, which uses the capacities given by the IEEE 802.11 and the 3GPP long term evolution-advanced (LTE-A) standards interconnection. A prediction scheme, with no additional load over the network, or the user is utilized to handle cloud computing issues arising during authentication in the handover process. The proposed handover authentication protocol outperformed existing protocols in terms of key confidentiality, powerful security, and efficiency which was used to reduce bandwidth consumption.

Mobile Cloud Computing Model and Big Data Analysis for Healthcare Applications

Mobile devices are increasingly becoming an indispensable part of people’s daily life, facilitating to perform a variety of useful tasks. Mobile cloud computing integrates mobile and cloud computing to expand their capabilities and benefits and overcomes their limitations, such as limited memory, CPU power, and battery life. Big data analytics technologies enable extracting value from data having four Vs: volume, variety, velocity, and veracity. This paper discusses networked healthcare and the role of mobile cloud computing and big data analytics in its enablement. The motivation and development of networked healthcare applications and systems is presented along with the adoption of cloud computing in healthcare. A cloudlet-based mobile cloud-computing infrastructure to be used for healthcare big data applications is described. The techniques, tools, and applications of big data analytics are reviewed. Conclusions are drawn concerning the design of networked healthcare systems using big data and mobile cloud-computing technologies. An outlook on networked healthcare is given.

A Systematic Literature Review of Mobile Cloud Computing

Mobile cloud computing (MCC) is a relatively new concept that leverages the combination of cloud technology, mobile computing, and wireless networking to enrich the usability experiences of mobile users. Many fields of application such as mobile health, mobile learning, mobile commerce and mobile entertainment are now taking advantage of MCC technologies. Since MCC is new, there is need to advance research in MCC in order to deepen practice. Currently, what exist are mostly descriptive literature reviews in the area of MCC. In this paper, a systematic literature review (SLR), which offers a structured, methodical, and rigorous approach to the understanding of the trend of research in MCC, and the least and most researched issue is presented. The objective of the study is to provide a credible intellectual guide for upcoming researchers in MCC to help them identify areas in MCC research where they can make the most impact. The SLR was limited to peer-reviewed conference papers and journal articles published from 2002 to 2014. The study reveals that privacy, security and trust in MCC are the least researched, whereas issues of architecture, context awareness and data management have been averagely researched, while issues on operations, end users, service and applications have received a lot of attention in the literature.

Efficient handover authentication with user anonymity and untraceability for Mobile Cloud Computing

Various wireless communication technologies have been generated and deployed on account of mass requirements. These enable cloud computing with integration with mobility and Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) becomes the trend of future generation computing paradigm. In this paper, we address a challenging issue of MCC technology—security and privacy of the handover process. We propose a new design of handoff authentication for heterogeneous mobile cloud networks, which provides user anonymity and untraceability. Compared with previous protocols, our proposed mechanism achieves comprehensive features of universality, robust security and efficiency.
