Innovation in Planning and Development of Religious Education Based on Local Wisdom: Mambangkik Batang Tarandam Efforts

Since the founding of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minang people have played a significant role and contributed to building and fulfilling the independence of the Unitary State. However, in the last few decades, the position of the Minang people has faded in the national arena, both in the fields of education, religion, politics, economics, and other fields. Therefore, these roles and contributions need to be realized again, but producing figures with strengths in specific fields is challenging. Based on several existing theories, education is a strategic step in building competent individuals. In line with that, this article will analyze how innovative planning and development of religious education is based on local wisdom as an effort to mambangkik Batang Tarandam. The research was carried out using library research. Namely, data was collected from various books and articles published by multiple publishers. The data was analyzed using comparative techniques. For example, the researcher conducted a study by comparing several opinions to find the researcher's statement. The results of the analysis conclude that religious education based on local wisdom can potentially help develop Batang Tarandam. This finding is based on the history of Minangkabau figures who have made history in developing the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia based on surau-based education.

Islam and Christianity at Rumah Gadang: The Household Characteristics of Minangnese Interfaith Marriage

This study discusses the Islam and Christianity at Rumah Gadang: Characteristics of Minangnese interfaith marriage in Padang, Yogyakarta, and Salatiga. Minangnese households in these three cities are unique because they have two different beliefs. Despite this, their domestic life continues to be harmonious, and no conflicts based on religious beliefs exist. The research setting was carried out in three cities in Indonesia: Padang, Yogyakarta, and Salatiga. This research explains the process of interfaith marriage for Minangnese who live outside the Minangkabau administrative area. It also describes factors that make their household life harmonious even though they have two different beliefs. Then, it explains the implications of the household life of Minangnese interfaith marriages outside the Minangkabau region, namely in Padang, Yogyakarta, and Salatiga. The research method used is qualitative, using a sociology of religion approach. The informants interviewed were Minang people who were married to Christian partners and Minang figures who lived in the research area. Meanwhile, respondents were taken randomly from residents living around the research object. This research found that the household characteristics of Minangnese interfaith marriage tend to be adaptive, tolerant, and Sufistic. This study claims that religion, which has been accused of being the source of conflict and divorce in the household, is not valid. This can be seen from the social interactions of couples of interfaith marriage who live in harmony, peace, and harmony

ETHNOGRAPHY STUDY: SHARED VALUE BETWEEN MINANG MIDWIFE CLASS OF 1968, SEKOLAH PERAWAT BIDAN PADANG

Indonesia as a nation consists of several islands with different tribes, cultures, and multiple ethnicities. One of them is the Minang tribe. Located on Sumatra Island, Minang people famous for its hard-working, food, culture and mostly the Minang people are working as a traders (pedagang) or as businessmen. Also due to their personal needs a lot of Minang people becoming a wanderer, they are looking for a better opportunity and experience by wandering to other island and due to that currently Minang people are becoming more varied in terms of occupation. Not only in men also in women, one of the occupations for Minang women is becoming a midwife. This study aims to understand the value shared by Minang women who occupied as a midwife, in terms of behaviour, belief, and culture. By using qualitative research with the Ethnographic method. Data collection was carried out by doing in-depth interviews, life history, and documentary data.

Kearifan Lokal: Respon Masyarakat Minang terhadap Penjualan Rendang Non-Halal

Padang restaurants are synonymous with providing halal food. Padang Restaurant's rejection of selling pork rendang is a strong background for this research. Padang customs are based on ABS-SBK (Basandi Syara-Syara Basandi Kitabullah Adat). This study aims to describe and analyze the response of the Minang community to a Padang restaurant that sells pork rendang. This research uses mixed methods. Quantitative techniques to collect primary data through questionnaires, and qualitative-descriptive techniques to collect secondary data and its analysis. Secondary data comes from news stories, journals, and scientific research results. Respondents' answers about the identity and opinions of Padang Restaurants that sell non-halal products are arranged in the form of a Likert scale. Respondents were Minang people totaling 75 people. Respondents strongly disagreed that a Padang Restaurant sells pork rendang, even though the Padang Restaurant includes information on the non-halal product. The reason for refusing the sale of rendang using pork, aside from being identical to Minang, which has the ABS-SBK principle, is also due to the use of Minang attributes. The Minang people still hold tightly to their customs which make Islamic teachings part of their values, including in terms of food. The researcher suggests conducting research related to the need for regulation on the inclusion of the Padang Restaurant label which is synonymous with halal food products.

Indigenous Value Entrepreneurship Minang Communities as A Supplement to the Development of A Culturally Responsive Pedagogy

There have been many studies on entrepreneurship, but relatively few studies have revealed the entrepreneurial motivation of the Minang people. Even though the Minang people's creative process towards entrepreneurial success can be adopted as a source of value in developing entrepreneurial learning. This study aims to determine the values of the overseas Minangkabau community in entrepreneurship. To answer this question, qualitative research methods are used. Participants were 3 Minangkabau people who represented nomads who had successful entrepreneurship in Lampung province, information from research subjects was extracted through in-depth interviews. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the data analysis were then examined using a motivational theory analysis knife. Obtained the value of self-esteem, the value of hard work and the value of contributing to the family as the motivation of overseas Minang people in entrepreneurship. In addition, the universal values extracted from the entrepreneurial culture can be used as a source of entrepreneurial value. It is suggested that further research can develop a Culturally Responsive Pedagogy Entrepreneurship.

SUSTAINABILITY OF CULTURAL VALUES, INHERITANCE, AND LITERACY IN STRENGTHENING HUMAN RESOURCES IN MINANGKABAU

Objective: To obtain an overview of the reality of the concept and construction of original cultural values in the lives of the Minangkabau indigenous people in Tiga Luhak, and their integration into sustainable development and strengthening of human resources. Methods: This research uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method based on the Post-Positivism paradigm of Interpretive Phenomenology, a holistic study, searching for the essence, and implicating moral values in observation, analysis and making conclusions regarding the disclosure of social facts of the Minangkabau indigenous people. Results: In line with the global issue of sustainability in the Sustainable Development Goals program where the mandate is to preserve the Culture of Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Peoples of an area, this research becomes important when changes have impacted shifting indigenous cultural values in indigenous peoples. The construction of indigenous knowledge and Minangkabau cultural values has been used and developed for a long time in the social structure of their society. Minangkabau custom contains values and knowledge, something that is original and inherent as a worldview and outlook on life. Minangkabau's original cultural values and knowledge are inherited and become clothing in the daily order of indigenous peoples. The concept of Surau and Silek became the starting point for the development of science. It became the center for studying an in-depth understanding of the natural surroundings which has inherited the wisdom, reason and local wisdom of the Minangkabau people. Minangkabau indigenous cultural values and knowledge have become social and intellectual capital in developing and strengthening human resources. Conclusions: Minangkabau customs and culture are a construction of a series of values, beliefs, knowledge, local wisdom and collective agreements based on the concept of Minangkabau scientific studies, namely epistemology which departs from an understanding of the philosophy of Alam Takambang Jadi Guru. Traditional and cultural values are the foundation in the construction of knowledge in Minangkabau, and these values are the guidelines and way of life for the community. Minangkabau cultural values and indigenous knowledge which have been the basis for the Minang people's life goal.

Persepsi Masyarakat Minang terhadap Tradisi Badoncek dalam Pernikahan Orang Minangkabau di Kota Medan

This research is entitled “Minang People’s Perception of the Badoncek Tradition in Minangkabau Weddings in Medan City”. The focus of this research is how the history, benefits and perception of the Minang people toward the Badoncek Tradition in Binjai Village, Medan Denai District, Medan City. The purpose of this study is as additional reference material for future research. This research uses qualitative methods and conducts research directly using reference sources from indigenous figures there. From the results of research that has been conducted in the field that the perception of the Minang people towards the Badoncek tradition is very accepted by the surrounding community, especially the Minang Pariaman community who brought the tradition to overseas and continues to be preserved and developed in Binjai Village, Medan Denai District, Medan City.

Evaluation of the Phytochemical, Total Phenolic Content, and Antioxidant Activity of Banto Grass (Leersia hexandra) Using an Ecological and Ethnobotanical Approach

Banto (Leersia hexandra) is an essential plant for the Minangkabau people. Banto grass is a weed plant that easily grows anywhere. This plant can live in dry, watery, or damp areas. This study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical and total phenolic content of banto grass using an ecological and ethnobotanical approach. Banto grass samples originate from Lintau Buo and Pariaman. The phytochemical content of banto grass was determined using a qualitative screening method, and the total phenolic content was determined using gallic acid (GAE) standards. The ecological and ethnobotanical aspects of banto are studied through literature studies including information on botany, ecology, distribution, local names and traditional medicine. The results showed that both banto grass from the high and lowlands extracted with methanol had positive results for flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins and steroids. However, quantitatively, the total phenolic content of highland banto extract has a higher value than lowland, namely 842.593 mg/L and 649.471 mg/L respectively. Based on ethnobotanical aspects, the leaves of Banto have long been used to make a drink which functions to eliminate toxins in the body, asthma, and shortness of breath. Apart from that, our ancestors also used banto leaves as a toothbrush. Banto grows scattered around areas with lots of water, therefore, the Minang people also use banto as an indicator for digging wells.

Understanding the Concept of Merantau, Tau Jo Nan Ampek and Ninik Mamak in Minangkabau Culture in West Sumatra, Indonesia

This article examines Minangkabau culture in West Sumatra, Indonesia. In this province, the people still maintain a culture, namely the cultural heritage of their ancestors, even though they no longer live in their hometown. Scholars say that the Minang people have carried out the concept of rantau to make a living outside their hometown and have implemented a family system managed by the parents of the wife's family. In this case, this article will look at the foundations of the Minang people's cultural knowledge and the strategies that Minang families carry out to maintain their customs in the contemporary era. By conducting an ethnographic study, we found a portrait of Adat of Minangkabau embedded with religious and ethnic foundations, which can be seen from the many concepts and their applications in society, not only in the private sphere but also in the public sphere. It is hoped that this study will fill the gap in understanding one of the ethnic groups in the archipelago in anthropological studies in Southeast Asia, which is still vital in maintaining its culture, even though they have difficulties protecting it.

This study examines the Tambo Alam Minangkabau: The Customary Order of the Ancestors of the Minangkabau Ancestors by Ibrahim Dt Sanggoene Diradjo regarding the Batu Batikam Event. The purpose of this study is to examine a work in the tambo based on traditional historiography. This research is included in the type of historical qualitative research. Therefore the research, Tambo Alam Minangkabau: Traditional Historiographical Studies in the book Customary Orders Inherited by the Minang People's Ancestors by Ibrahim Dt Sanggoene Diradjo. in the form of articles, books or journals. The first step in this research is to collect books or writings that are relevant to the study. The second step is analysis and interpretation. Then the third step is presenting the findings or research results in the form of a report or historiography

Manjujai: Social Functions, Local Cultural Values, and Universal Lullabies from West Sumatra, Indonesia

Lullabies for children are a local and universal phenomenon in the world. Despite having local values, the lullaby phenomenon exists in almost all world cultures. The Minangkabau people in West Sumatra have a tradition of singing lullabies for children called manjujai. Manjujai slowly eroded and began to disappear due to the touch of technology and modernization. Manjujai, besides functioning as a children's lullaby, is also a medium for conveying messages, especially cultural and religious values, which are expected to be embedded in children's minds. The purpose of this study is to describe, reveal, and analyze the meaning of the function of Manjujai as a cultural expression of the Minang people, while at the same time connecting universal values that exist in children's lullabies in several other cultures. This paper is a qualitative descriptive research. The data is obtained by tracing the manjujai text. This research shows that manjujai text has three social functions: (1) conveying feelings, thoughts, and attitudes to life; (2) teaching cultural values through advice, messages, and hopes; and (3) presenting the beauty of language, feeling comfortable, calm, and prosperous, as well as generating a sense of comfort for children who listen. What all the lullabies in the world have in common is rooted in love, tenderness and care. Many lullabies have a peaceful, hypnotic quality. Weary bodies, rising black nights, difficulty closing eyes, and sleep are the three elements that form the universal backdrop for melodic and lyrical strands of lullabies around the world.

Hambatan Komunikasi Antar Budaya Pendatang Jawa Terhadap Masyarakat Suku Minang di Nagari Sungai Pua Kabupaten Agam

This study focuses on intercultural communication barriers of Javanese immigrants to the Minang Tribe Community in Nagari Sungai Pua, Agam Regency. This research is motivatetd by the problem of the obstacles felt by Javanese migrants while living in Nagari Sungai Pua. Intercultural communication barriers for Javanese immigrants in Nagari Sungai Pua, where language and culture are the most important obstacles felt by Javanese migrants. Communications barrieris often arise when there are differencess in background. culturalt background. When communicating, Javanese immigrants find it difficult to understand the language used, so that Javanese immigrants are less intense in socializing with the local community, as well as misunderstandings between Minang people and Javanese immigrants. Misunderstanding of cultural understanding can certainly hinder effective communications. The purpose of this studys was to findd out how the barriers to intercultural communicatiotn of Javaenese immigrants towards the Minang Tribe Society in Nagari Sungai Pua, Agam Regenchy. The tyipe of research used is field researjch swith a descriptive qualitativie approach. The research location isn in Nagari Sungai Pua, Agam Regency. This study used a purposive sampling technique. Sources of data in this study were obtained from observations, interviews and documentation. Meanwhile, to analyze the data the authors use data regduction, data presentations, and conclusiconts. STRATEGI DAN TANTANGAN PENGEMBANGAN HOTEL SYARIAH DI KOTA PAYAKUMBUH

One of the potential tourist destinations in West Sumatra Province is Payakumbuh, Payakumbuh has a good positioning in preparing for the arrival of tourists from Muslim countries and regions because Islamic culture has been well ingrained and integrated with the philosophy of life of the traditional minang people, adat basandi sarak, sarak basandi kitabullah. In order for halal tourism in Payakumbuh to grow, supporting components such as sharia hotels need to be developed. This study aims to explore and describe the potential of sharia hotels in Payakumbuh, and propose development strategy by exploring this potential. This study uses qualitative method to define problems and present sharia hotel development strategies. With the repeal of Permenparekraf number 2 of 2014, there is lack of legislation, especially related to sharia hotel regulations, so an active role of the government is needed in socializing the concept of sharia hotels by providing training, education and technical guidance to local government officials, hoteliers, communities and related parties through workshops, professional education/training, focus group discussions and mock studies as well as required commitment from business actors in implementing the principles of sharia hotel management in accordance with the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulama Council (DSN-MUI) Number 108/DSN-MU/X/2016, so that Muslim tourists receive protection from the halal aspects of products, services and hotel business management. With good quality and standardized sharia-based hotel services, a good hotel brand image will be created for Muslim tourists and will create a revisit intention.

Environmental Study for the Conservation of the Simawang Megalitic Site, Lake Singkarak, West Sumatera

The Menhir Simawang site is located in the northeastern part of Lake Singkarak on a hillside with residential areas in the valley. The uniqueness of the Menhir Simawang site is located on a hill facing northeast, where Mount Sago is located. This mountain is one of the mountains that was considered sacred in the minds of the Minang people in the past. The aim is to find out in advance the local wisdom of the Simawang people in the past in adapting to their environment. The second utilizes environmental studies for site conservation. This study uses qualitative methods, using inductive reasoning. To sharpen environmental analysis in conservation, primary data (field) and secondary data analysis is carried out through maps. The excavation results show that the menhirs are related to the burial pits which are oriented northeast-southwest. The selection of a burial site on the top of a hill and the division of its terraced space is one of the implementations of the concept and social structure, as well as the beliefs of the Simawang people. The belief that when someone dies, the spirit will return to the top, so to bring it closer to the upper world, it must be placed in a higher place than their settlement. Local wisdom in choosing land as a grave or settlement is a form of human adaptation to the environment. This local wisdom can be a lesson for us today.

Implementasi E-Commerce Untuk Meningkatkan Penjualan Industri Rumahan Randang Padang Berbasis Web

Randang Padang is a typical food of the Minang people which is very well known, even abroad. Currently Randang Padang Elok does not yet have an online system, because there is no effective marketing media to explain in detail the products available at Randang Padang Elok, and sales transactions are still carried out manually where sales data and product data are recorded manually, into a ledger , so that to make a report the company officer has to manually recapitulate data files. The purpose of this research is to build an e-commerce-based website to make it easier for this home industry to carry out a sales system and product monitoring. This system was created using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall method. Making this system using the PHP programming language and MySQL database. The results of this study can make it easier for Randang Padang Elok to carry out an online sales system, find out order conditions, and expand the marketing area and increase the number of consumers so that product sales information media will be more effective and efficient.

Mutual Cooperation in the Batagak Pangulu Tradition (Information of Penhulu) in Minangkabau

The Batagak Pangulu ritual (the prince's inauguration) is one type of Minangkabau traditional ceremonial tradition. This traditional celebration comprises customary rituals that are quite expensive. The costs could reach 100 million rupiahs or even more, depending on the size of the event that the clan members put on. utilizing a qualitative approach to data collection for this study. Sources of information include traditional leaders and Minang people who have undergone modification by researchers. The study's findings indicate that the Pangulu Batagak ceremony may be held and that the headman and clan members will cooperate to reduce the high costs. It is difficult to perform the Batagak Pangulu rite without cooperation (gotong royong). The killing and preparation of buffalo to be fed at the prince's inauguration is another example of this kind of reciprocal collaboration. Similar to how preparation takes place, mutual cooperationis evident when clan members work together to clean up the area and prepare the adat hall. The study concludes that the Batagak Panglu tradition must be preserved as an ancestral culture because doing so can help the Minang people maintain their ability to collaborate or work together in all of their endeavors.

Pros-Cons of Nasi Padang Containing Pork on Social Media

This study aims to find out and describe the pro and con discourses on social media about nasi Padang containing pork which is currently viral. The discourse is seen from the text dimension, discourse practice, and sociocultural practice based on the model put forward by Fairclough. This is a qualitative descriptive study that used the theory of Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis to analyze the data. From the result of the analysis, nasi Padang containing pork has raised various pro and con discourses. The contra party considered nasi Padang containing pork to have insulted the Minang people, so they asked the authorities to take action. Meanwhile, the pro party defended the business owner and considered the contra party to have played on the SARA issue to break tolerance. Besides, it turns out that historical factors have also sparked the viral issue of nasi Padang containing pork.

Identifikasi Fenotip Generasi Induk (G0) dan Generasi Pertama (G1) Pola Perkawinan Assortative terhadap Hasil Produksi Pada Ayam Kokok Balenggek

AKB is a native chicken from West Sumatra. The Minang people reportedly call it Balenggek chicken which has a cascading rhythmic crowing sound. AKB comes from crosses of the Red Junglefowl (Gallus gallus) with local chickens. AKB is a source of wealth for local livestock in Indonesia that needs to be protected and preserved . This research consisted of two stages. The first stage of the research aimed to identify the qualitative and quantitative characteristics and the second stage of the research aimed to determine the first generation phenotype (G1) resulting from the Assortative mating pattern on production in IMR. This second stage of research used 8 male AKBs. and 48 females that are sexually mature. Based on the results of the identification of qualitative and quantitative characteristics research, it shows that the qualitative characteristics of male AKB based on feather pattern are dominated by columbian type, striated feather pattern, silver and gold flickering feathers, yellow/white shank color, single type comb shape, yellow/white beak color . Based on the pattern of feathers, the female AKB is dominated by the columbian type, striated feather pattern, golden feather flickering, yellow/white shank color, single comb type and yellow/white beak color. The coefficient of diversity of high quantitative traits in male AKB is neck diameter (22.22%), comb height (18.45%) and for females is comb height (29.60%) and body weight (18.77%) . Based on the results of the second phase of the study, the average weight of DOC IMR was 24.31 grams. Mating based on the similarity of fur color, produces offspring with the same fur color as their parents. P1, P2, P3, P4 relatively the same growth pattern.

Penggunaan Strategi Tindak Tutur Direktif Menyuruh dalam Bahasa Minangkabau di Nagari Bukik Batabuah Kabupaten Agam

Language in the point of view of communication is seen as a tool for transmitting data from the brain of the speaker to the brain of the speech partner. However, the speech strategies used by speakers when transmitting such data are often not quite right, so the data is not accurate. This study aims to describe what speech strategies are used by the Nagari Bukik Batabuah people in the directive speech acts in Minangkabau language, as well as describe the nonlinguistic context contained in the speech. This research was conducted qualitatively using descriptive methods. The research data is in the form of speech that contains directive speech acts commanding in minangkabau language which are spoken directly. The data were collected by using uninvolved conversation observation method with recording and note-taking techniques. The results of the data analysis showed that the people of Nagari Bukik Batabuah often used a bald-on-record strategy as many as 107 data from 152 data. The cultural context contained in the utterance is influenced by (1) habits that have been passed down for generations by the people, (2) accustomed to something that has happened in ancient times, (3) accustomed to the dominant behavior of the people, and (4) because the culture is formed by itself. Meanwhile, the direct context of the speech is expressed in informal language, but still uses the ethics of speaking Kato Nan Ampek which is the procedure for speaking of Minang people. The topic of speech is not far from the daily life of the people. Also, the function or purpose of the speech act also tends to be clear, namely to tell the speech partner to do something. Through this research, readers can see what factors can help them in conveying their intentions accurately.

Cultural Study and Cultural Paradok on Entrepreneurship Behavior of The Minang Community

History records and the current reality has explained that the Minang people are an ethnic group known as the merchant tribe (entrepreneurs). His actions in trade from time to time have been recognized and his spread not only reaches his tribal areas but also extends to all parts of Indonesia and abroad. There are many amazing inspirational stories starting from the development of bilateral cooperation capabilities and the distribution of national ideologies through entrepreneurial activities. However, with all the potential and achievements achieved through entrepreneurship activities, it turns out that this profession is allegedly something that is not very coveted today by the Minang community. Entrepreneurship seems to be identified only for certain groups or qualifications of society and not for other communities. The entrepreneurial profession, which was originally something that was respected not only because of its ability to accumulate wealth but also its social effects, has become less "authoritative and elegant" in this day and age. It is necessary to study what phenomenon actually pervades the Minang community, where cultural wisdom upholds the entrepreneurship profession but the behavior of the people is indicated to be in the opposite direction.
