The Paper describes possible dangers, which could damage or even destroy a building, such blast or vehicle impact. These factors should be considered whilst designing a building. The sufficient survival time of the structure after it has been damaged should be always considered by engineers and architects. The author provides a possible method to solve such a problem, specifically with the help of external systems, which could protect a building from negative impacts. The calculation of the bollard for explosion and impact was performed using the program ANSYS LS-DYNA. The schematic diagram of the bollard is created, the dimensions, physical and mechanical characteristics are given. The relevance of using external protective systems in ensuring the safety of the building in the event of an explosion and vehicle impact is analyzed. The main task of the research is to create a constructive protective system and calculate its efficiency. In conclusion, it is important to mention, that the use of external protective system could potentially reduce the overall cost of construction and provide a sufficient level of protection from possible dangers. Such systems could be used for every building type and in the military zones.
