ABSTRACT Under the current economic conditions where a more and more dynamic market prevails, and the customers´ demands increase exponentially, it is utterly important to assure the Supply Chain links effectiveness, therefore in present times, selecting and evaluating the correct suppliers has become significantly important. The addressed dilemma has been located at Cajaplax, a 100% Mexican company specialized in plastics, the aforementioned enterprise did not have an efficient and effective process for the proper suppliers ‘selection, evaluation and development, its methodology was quite austere and limited. The reasons and motivations that lead to make this case study are three, the first is to establish a management strategy that enables Cajaplax to be more efficient in their purchasing processes, second is to apply the theoretical foundations and the third is to provide new policies, better process for the correct suppliers ‘selection, evaluation and business development. There will be a possible solution based on an efficient management process fulfilling the company´s needs, and there will be a flow diagram with the main areas involved in this process. The impact will be reflected on supplier’s quality as well as costs, times, and company´s profits. The conclusion shows that performing a correct purchasing process is vital within the Supply Chain.
