ASK HEART GAME CARD DEVELOPMENT TO PROVIDE AN UNDERSTANDING OF MARRIAGE READINESS IN EARLY ADULTHOOD

This research aims to provide an understanding of marriage readiness in early adulthood through the media of the Tanya Hati card game as an effort to fulfill one of the developmental tasks in early adulthood. Apart from that, this research was carried out as a form of optimizing the Guidance and Counseling program through the development of Guidance and Counseling media in the form of game cards. The research method used is “Research and Development” using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Data collection through observation, interviews and questionnaires. The research results show that the Tanya Hati card game media developed is very suitable for use with an average result of 85% from expert assessments. Based on limited trials on 8 students, the heart question card game media obtained a score of 84%. The research results show that the development of the Tanya Hati card game media is valid and effective as a medium that provides an understanding of marriage readiness in early adulthood.

TRUTH OR DARE GAME MEDIA DEVELOPMENT TO PROVIDE AN UNDERSTANDING OF FAMILY FUNCTION

This research aims to develop the truth or dare game media to provide an understanding of family functions. The method used is Research and Development (R&D), using the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) development model. Data collection techniques by conducting expert feasibility tests on products that have been developed. The data processing technique uses a Likert scale in the form of quantitative and qualitative data. Feasibility test results with experts in the field, media experts 82.5%, material experts 93.3%, language experts 88.6%. The research subjects were 10 students from the Class of 2021 Department of which means it is very suitable for application and the truth or dare game media can increase students' understanding of family functions.

The Effectiveness of the Games Based Learning Model Using LUAK Game Media (Physics Kid’s Ludo) on Understanding Concepts in the Material on Climate Change and Global Warming

This study aims to improve students' conceptual understanding by implementing a game based learning model using the LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) game media on climate change and global warming material. Concept understanding data were collected through a test using a pre-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design involving one class in class X with a total of 36 students, but the researcher only used 32 students because 4 students had other roles to help researchers in conducting treatment in class. Then the data analysis techniques used were N-Gain analysis and effect size analysis. Hypothesis testing used normality test, homogeneity test, and Wilcoxon test (non-parametric test). The results showed that the class that applied the game based learning model using the LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) game media had an N-Gain value of understanding ability of <g> = 0.54 which was included in the moderate category. Meanwhile, the calculation result of Effect Size of understanding ability with a value of 2.22 which is included in the very high category. Thus, the application of game based learning model is considered effective for understanding ability in climate change and global warming material. Additionally, students provided positive feedback after using this game-based learning model.

URIP IKU URUP: PROGRAM KONSELING TEMAN SEBAYA SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS PADA SISWA DI SMK BERBUDI YOGYAKARTA

Mental health is an important aspect in the well-being of individuals, especially students in a school setting. However, awareness of the importance of mental health is often low among students which negatively impacts their development. This study aims to increase mental health awareness at SMK Berbudi Yogyakarta through a peer counseling program, utilizing the Javanese philosophy of “Urip Iku Urup.” The research method used was One Group Pre-Test Post-Test Design, in which the experimental group was given a Pre-Test scale before the intervention and a Post-Test scale after the intervention. The intervention included training and role play, as well as counseling practices using MHA Board Games and Mindful Mixer Games media. The results showed a significant increase in students' mental health awareness, with a pre-test mean score of 40.04 and a post-test mean score of 47.96. Thus, it can be concluded that the peer counseling program is effective in increasing students' mental health awareness at SMK Berbudi Yogyakarta.

Analysis of the Use of Educational Game Media for Science Subjects on Digestive System Material

Educational games are games that are used in the learning process, as a form of technology adaptation in the world of education to help teachers improve the learning process in the classroom. Researchers conducted research with the aim of analyzing the use of educational game media during learning; analyze the impact of using educational game media; how important educational game media is in class V science and science learning at Japeledok State Elementary School. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. This research was carried out at SDN Japeledok, Pancur District, Rembang Regency. SDN Japeledok has a total of 11 class V students consisting of 7 boys and 4 girls. The data taken from this research are observations, questionnaires, interviews and documentation using triangulation techniques. The results obtained from this research are the use of educational game media in Japeledok Elementary School that have been implemented by class teachers are Wordwall and Quizizz; The impact given after implementing educational game media is an interactive and fun learning experience, training students' thinking skills, increasing interest and motivation to learn, and making students more active in the learning process in class. Overall, educational games have had a lot of positive impacts on students and teachers. Judging from the impact this educational game has, it has an important role in implementing learning. Educational game media not only provides an interesting alternative in education, but also opens up new opportunities to improve the quality of learning and learning experiences for various types of learners.

The difference between digital educational game and powerpoint-based video on oral hygiene knowledge in children aged 7-8 years : a quasi-experimental

ABSTRACTIntroduction: Oral and dental health problems can be prevented through dental health education in which methods and media play an important role in increasing knowledge. Media that is often used in schools is still conventional, therefore research on modern media use is needed. This study intended to analyze the difference between digital educational games and PowerPoint-based videos in improving oral hygiene knowledge. Methods: This study method was a quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group and pretest-posttest design. The study population were 36 second-grade students at Elementary School 20 Kalumbuk, in Padang, Indonesia, selected using total sampling, with inclusion criteria being 7-8 year olds who brought informed consent forms which were already signed by parents and were in good overall health. The sample that met the inclusion criteria was 32 students and were divided into two groups. A total of 16 students in the experimental group (Group A) received oral health education through digital educational game media, while the remaining 16 students in the control group (Group B) were provided with PowerPoint-based video media. Data were collected by giving questionnaires both before and after education. The data analysis was using a paired t-test and an independent t-test. Results: The oral hygiene knowledge average increased 2.94 in Group A and 1.68 in Group B. The paired t-test showed significant improvement in both groups (p = 0.000). The independent t-test revealed a significant difference between digital educational games and PowerPoint-based videos (p = 0.037). Conclusion: There is a significant difference between digital educational games and PowerPoint-based videos in improving dental and oral hygiene knowledge among children aged 7-8 years. The digital educational games demonstrated a higher increase in knowledge compared to the PowerPoint-based videos.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Pendidikan Agama Katolik Melalui Model Problem Based Learning Berbantukan Media Wordwall Game Kelas 5 SD Santo Yoseph 1 Medan

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education for 5th-grade students at SD Santo Yoseph 1 Medan through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model supported by the interactive media Wordwall Game. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, with each cycle comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out through learning outcome tests, observation, and documentation. The results indicate an improvement in student learning outcomes from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2. In Cycle 1, the average student score was 81.5, while in Cycle 2, it increased to 91. The application of the PBL model with the Wordwall Game media proved to be effective in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. This improvement was driven by a more engaging and interactive learning process, as well as the students' ability to think critically and solve problems. Therefore, the PBL model with the support of Wordwall Game can be widely implemented to improve learning quality.

GAME MEDIA BASED ON LOCAL WISDOM TO IMPROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS' CRITICAL THINKING ABILITIES

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness test of interactive game media using Educandy based on local wisdom to improve the critical thinking skills of class V students which include C4 (analyzing), C5 (concluding) and C6 (creating). The research method is Research and Development (RnD) with the ADDIE Model which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Data collection instruments are interviews, expert validation questionnaires, practitioner questionnaires, pre-test and post-test questions, teacher and student response questionnaires. Data analysis used Paired sample T-Test and N-Gain tests with the help of SPSS 26.00 software. The research data shows that the recapitulation of expert scores was 90.14% in the media, including the valid category, the expert practitioner results were 86.67%, including the very practical category, and the average teacher response score was 90%, while the students' results were 87.1. % which means very valid and interesting. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test and N-Gain different tests show a significance value of 0.00 or ≤ 0.05, which means there is a difference before and after the use of game media. So, it can be concluded that interactive game media uses Educandy based on local wisdom fulfills the categories of valid, practical and interesting to use in learning and is effective for improving the critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students.

Development of monopoly learning media in lactation education classes

<p><strong><em>Background</em></strong><em>: Exclusive breastfeeding is one of the rights that children should have, as breastfeeding for the first six months is the best way to fulfill a child's nutritional needs to continue the growth of their brain, liver, and immune system. Exclusive breastfeeding can also reduce infectious mortality by 88 percent in infants less than 3 months old. Currently, the achievement of exclusive breastfeeding is 69.7% and has met the 2021 target of 45%. One of the causes is influenced by the learning process. Interesting and fun learning media can affect learning outcomes. Therefore, it is important for midwives to grow the interest and attractiveness of pregnant women in the learning process with the help of appropriate learning media and involve pregnant women in lactation education classes through Monopoly games. </em></p><p><strong><em>Objectives</em></strong><em>: This study aims to develop Monopoly game media in lactation education classes and describe the feasibility of Monopoly game media as learning media in lactation education classes for pregnant women. </em></p><p><strong><em>Methods</em></strong><em>: This study uses research and development methods, namely expert sampling. The data collection instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire and descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The design of research activities only reached the feasibility test of monopoly learning media. </em></p><p><strong><em>Results</em></strong><em>: The learning media developed regarding the feasibility of learning aspects by material experts and users obtained an average score of 4.32, entered the good category. Meanwhile, according to media experts, an average score of 4.9 was obtained based on media engineering aspects, and based on visual communication aspects, an average score of 4.62 was obtained. </em></p><p><strong><em>Conclusions</em></strong><em>: This study shows that the development media for lactation education classes in the form of monopoly is in a good category</em> <em>and suitable for use</em></p>

PERBANDINGAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN TGT DAN TGT MENGGUNAKAN PERMAINAN BINGO TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA PESERTA DIDIK

The aim of this research is to compare the learning outcomes of students' mathematics learning models taught using the TGT learning model and the TGT learning model using the bingo game as media. This research conducted by quantitative experimental research. The subjects in this research were all class IV students at SD GMIT 01 Kalabahi, totaling 50 students, who were obtained using a saturated sampling technique. The students were divided into two population groups, namely the control and experimental class populations, each consisting of 25 students. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. Data analysis used in this research is normality, homogeneity test and t test on two unpaired samples. The research results showed that the average value for the control class was 64.27, while for the experimental class it was 80.40. the results of hypothesis testing using the t test on two unpaired samples, obtained a value of t = 17.52 with t table = 1.64. Thus, it can be concluded that the TGT learning model using bingo game media is better than without using it.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA ROLLING BALL GAME UNTUK MEMAHAMI MATERI PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPAS KELAS IV SEKOLAH DASAR

This study aims to produce a valid and practical rolling ball game media on the subject of Science for Grade IV Elementary School. The type of research used is Research & Development which apllied the ADDIE stage model with five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. The subjects of this study were grade IV students of Elementary School 21 Palembang. The validity test was obtained through a validation sheet by two (2) lecturers and one (1) teacher getting an average score of 81.4% with the category "very valid". The practicality test was obtained through a student response questionnaire conducted in small groups with an average score of 93.75% with the category "very practical" and a field trial conducted by 20 grade IV students getting an average score of 94.2% with the category "very practical". It can be concluded that the rolling ball game media on plant material, the source of life on earth is valid and practical to be used for the teaching and learning process in class for grade IV students of SD Negeri 21 Palembang.

Militarizing and Colonizing Outer Space as a Video Game. Ender’s Game and Astroculture

The author of the article analyzes Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game, focusing her attention on the relationship between the key motif of the novel – gaming – and the tendency to militarize and colonize outer space highlighted by astrocultural scholars. Card’s novel follows the astrocultural pattern of setting future wars in space, but introduces an important novelty: games of various kinds, including video games, become a mediating element between the characters and the real experience of space war. The theoretical framework for the analysis is provided by the insights of astrocultural scholars such as Alexander Geppert, Tilmann Siebeneichner and Alice Gorman. In analyzing Ender’s Game and, to some extent, its 2013 film adaptation, the author examines the protagonists’ relationship to space, which is shaped by the game’s setting. It is here that military and colonial themes are most prevalent. The first part of the paper presents the main contexts of the motif of the militarization of outer space and its close relationship with video games. These contexts provide an important background for the analysis of the motifs of games and outer space in Ender’s Game. Selected reflections from the field of ludology are helpful in interpreting Card’s use of video games not only as a theme, but also as a structural principle of his novel’s settings. In the last part of the paper, the author considers the transformation of the militant motif taking place in the novel’s finale into a narrative focused on the colonization of outer space, as well as the transformation of this narrative that occurred in Gavin Hood’s film adaptation. The goal of such an interpretation is to show the story created by Orson Scott Card as entangled in a dynamic relationship with the video game medium that was developing at the time of its creation and with the changing trends of astroculture.

Bingo Game in Improving Dental Health Knowledge in Elementary School

Background: Effective education outreach is influenced by the media and methods used. Educating elementary school students requires methods that can capture their attention, such as using gaming media. With the advancement of technology, there are many interactive games that can be developed for use as educational tools. One interactive gaming medium that can be used for education outreach in this context is bingo. Modifying bingo into an educational medium can cultivate teamwork among students, enhance student engagement in learning, and create a more vibrant learning atmosphere. Objective: To analyze the level of dental health knowledge of 5th grade students at SDN Beji 2 Depok before and after education using the bingo game. Method: This research employs a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. It was conducted at SDN Beji 2 Depok, utilizing total sampling, involving 47 students. The independent variable is the bingo game, and the dependent variable is the level of dental health knowledge among students. The instruments used include a questionnaire and the bingo game media. Data analysis is conducted using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: This study shows the average value of dental health knowledge before playing with bingo games is 65.53 and after playing with bingo games is 93.62, with Wilcoxon test results of p<0.001. Conclusion: Bingo game is effective in improving dental health knowledge among elementary school students.

Linguistic Strategies for Identity and World Building

Over the past decade, the medium of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) like Dungeons & Dragons has risen exponentially in popularity thanks to shows like Stranger Things and The Legend of Vox Machina as well as actual-play shows like The Adventure Zone, Critical Role and Dimension 20. Unlike video games and board games, the primary vehicle through which these games are played is language, making TTRPGs an enormous and as of yet rarely explored area of research for linguists and linguistic anthropologists. Participants must play, tell stories and build secondary worlds and selves all through interaction and conversation. Using tools from ethnographic field work, I investigate the features of the register as well as the conscious and unconscious linguistic strategies that are necessary to the function of TTRPGs. I observe and record three TTRPG sessions from pre-established recreational groups both in person and online and broadly transcribe relevant sections for linguistic anthropological analysis. Examination of these real-time improvised conversations reveals their performative nature as well as the conditions required for all players to agree that something takes place in the story that they are building. This paper outlines how players navigate the inevitable messiness and ambiguity that comes with multiple people trying to play a game and tell a story together and how they negotiate agency and control over that reality. Essentially, it considers how adults enact pretend play through language. It also describes the unique participation framework of TTRPG players as writers, characters and audience simultaneously. All of these elements serve to provide insight into this increasingly popular way of using language for entertainment and reveal some of why people find TTRPGs entertaining in the first place.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BERBABIS PERMAINAN DIGITAL ”BARET” BERDASARKAN KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS BERBANTUAN UNITY

Effective education that supports future development is the type of education that focuses on developing students' abilities. Developing digital game-based learning media can be an innovative choice to expand digital media and add variety to the learning process, especially in mathematics education. This digital media development uses the Unity platform and follows the Research and Development (RD) method with the 4D model. The research results show that the development of the "baret" digital game media is very practical, as evidenced by the assessments from media and content experts, and the majority of students also find this media very practical to use in the teaching and learning process.

Influence of Gaming Media Truth or Dare Regarding Pancasila Education Learning Outcomes for Class IV Students at SDN 09 Banyu Abang

Formulation of the problem in this research is how the truth or dare card media influences the Pancasila education learning outcomes of Class IV students at SDN 09 Banyu Abang. This research uses experimental research with the Quasy Experiment Design method, while the research design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all class IV students at SDN 09 Banyu Abang consisting of 14 students in class IV A and 14 students in class IV B. The samples in this study were class IV A students (Experimental Class) and class IV B students (Class Control) SDN 09 Banyu Abang. The technique used to determine the sample is a saturated sample. Data collection uses test questions. Hypothesis testing uses an independent sample t-test which begins with pre-requisite tests, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. The results of this research show that there is an influence of the truth or dare game media on the Pancasila education learning outcomes of class IV students at SDN 09 Banyu Abang. This is proven by the independent sample t-test, namely tcount (3.980) > ttable (2.056), with a significance level of 0.05. The average posttest score obtained in the experimental class was 80.21, which was better than the average posttest score obtained in the control class, namely 64.50 in the specified KKM, namely 70.

EFFECTIVENESS OF USING EDUCATIONAL GAME-BASED SCIENCE MEDIA PRODUCTS IN IMPROVING SCIENCE LITERACY IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This study examines the effect of using educational game-based science media products on improving science literacy , especially in terms of critical thinking or problem-solving skills in elementary school students. Through an experimental research design, the results showed a significant increase in the aspects of science literacy studied in the group of students who used educational game media compared to the control group. The results showed a significant increase in the aspects of science literacy studied in the experimental group. These findings indicate that the use of educational games can be an effective method for improving high-level thinking skills in students, such as critical thinking and problem solving. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating educational games into the elementary education curriculum to support the development of science literacy in more depth. In addition, these results also open up further opportunities for research related to the effectiveness of educational games in various other aspects of education.

Development of a Batting Tool for Learning Physical Education Sports and Health for Students in Elementary School

Research objectives: (1) to generate products for the development of baseball games targeting elementary school students (SD), (2) to assess the viability of developing a baseball game bat for Physical Education learning (PE learning) in elementary students, and (3) to evaluate the effectiveness of a baseball game bat for Physical Education learning (PE) in enhancing the hitting skills of elementary school students. This study was categorized as Research and Development (R&D) or development research, consisted of the following stages: 1) identification of potential and problems; 2) collection of information; 3) design of the product; 4) validation of the product; 5) revision of the product; 6) conducting product trials; 7) further revision of the product; 8) conducting broader trials; and 9) finalizing the model through revision. The trial participants consisted of third grade students from SD Negeri Dalangan 1 (Dalangan 1 Elementary School) in Minggir District. The trials were conducted on a weekly basis. For small-scale trials, there were 6 students involved, and for large-scale trials, there were 12 students. The sample was determined by using purposive sampling. The selected instruments included a questionnaire for material experts and media experts to assess the eligibility of a batting tool as a medium for learning baseball games, as well as questionnaires to gather student assessment responses. The acquired data would thereafter be quantitatively examined by using descriptive statistics, through the calculation of percentages. The acquired results indicate the following: (1) the development of baseball game batting products goes through nine stages of development, and (2) The assessment of the development tool's viability is based on a) the trial validity conducted by material experts shows that the mean value at 4.89 levels of achievement 97.78% are in the "very feasible" category. b) Media specialists undergo validity testing, resulting in an average value of 4.83. The achievement rates for this testing are at 96.67%, placing it in the "very feasible" category. c) A smallscale feasibility trial is conducted. Students receive an average score of 4.62, which corresponds to 87.23% in the "very feasible" category. The large-scale feasibility trials, conducted through a questionnaire, show an average score of 4.95, which corresponds to 99.10% in the "very feasible" category. Additionally, the t-test results indicate that the mean post-test score of 85.42 is significantly higher than the mean pre-test score of 41.67. The rise can be deemed significant based on the statistical significance (2-tailed) with a p-value of 0.000 (less than 0.05). Therefore, the creation of a castle game bat product is highly viable and efficient for teaching Physical Education for elementary school students.

The Effectiveness of Matific Interactive Game Media to Improve Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Grade VII Students on the Matter of Integers

Math learning is often considered difficult by students, this requires the creativity of math teachers to innovate, one of which is by using interactive learning media such as Matific. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the use of Matific interactive game media was effective in improving the learning outcomes of seventh grade mathematics students at SMP Negeri 7 Padang on integer material. This study uses a qualitative method by giving a questionnaire. The results of the research on the use of interactive game media Matific has been running effectively in learning mathematics, especially integers and is able to improve student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the percentage of student questionnaire assessment results of 88.45% which means that Matific games are very effective as interactive learning media. This research contributes to the field of education in developing mathematics skills, increasing student engagement, and reducing student anxiety through educational games that utilize technology in the teaching and learning process. Student involvement in the mathematics learning process is related to increased student learning outcomes. For this reason, it is hoped that mathematics will no longer be considered a difficult lesson by students

“You Can’t Work for Somebody Who Doesn’t Exist”: The Decline of Games Journalism and the Rise of Independent Gaming News

Despite the continued growth of the gaming sector, media conglomerates have recently begun a disturbing trend of downsizing their gaming-oriented publications, leading many journalists to pivot towards independence. This paper analyses the current moment in games journalism, highlighting how search engine optimization (SEO), artificial intelligence (AI), and guide-based content have motivated this pivot. Following this we show that some creators have used gaming podcasts as an opportunity to provide independent games coverage. To examine these issues, we draw on interviews with eleven gaming podcast creators which highlight their perspectives on the medium and why gaming podcasts have become a viable alternative. We conclude by contrasting the differences between influencer-focused games coverage and games journalism. This paper therefore emphasizes the importance of continued analysis of gaming journalism to studies of games media—illustrating how the issues that these journalists face are relevant to the broader online media sphere.
