On apples, or the martyr and the bulky

In this essay, we will reflect upon comparative aesthetics with regard to the thesis about so-called different art kinds, i.e. their comparison. The analysis shows that the thesis is based upon considering the art starting from the artwork?s appearance, as well as the artistic medium and the technology of making the artwork supported by the medium. The analysis also proves that the application of the same artistic method can result in artworks in different media; since their origin is one and the same, such artworks are akin despite the differences in the appearance. Finally, our results confirm that the thinking about the art has to start with the artworks, and that the art is one of the kind. On the other hand, the kinship, as well as the particularities of individual artworks can and should be explained by referring to the artistic method. The analysis is done on the example of making the artworks in real and crypto space, by applying the artistic method of exception.

The Evolution of Film Genres: A Historical Analysis

Since its beginnings more than a century ago, cinema has undergone tremendous change as both an artistic medium and a cultural phenomenon. Changes and improvements to film genres are illustrative of this progression. looking back at the development of film genres from their inception all the way up to the current day. historical events, trends, and critical variables that have moulded cinematic genres. early film genres including silent comedies and melodramas emerged at this time, marking the beginning of cinema. Next, it explores how innovations in technology, such sound and colour, influenced the evolution of genres. Adaptation of the technology for culturing bovine embryos on commercial media for human embryos

We have studied the efficiency of using commercial media developed for human-assisted reproductive technologies (ART) for bovine embryos. The dynamics of bovine cells and embryos at the stages of maturation, fertilization, and preimplantation development were analyzed on three different media types, including ones particularly designed for bovine ART. Cumulus-oocyte complexes were divided into three groups: group 1 – maturation, fertilization, and culture were performed on media IVF-Bioscience (BO-IVM, BO-IVF, BO-IVC) developed for bovine animals; group 2 – maturation, fertilization, and culture were done on Vitrolife human ART media (G-IVF, G-TL); group 3 – maturation, fertilization, and culture were done on Irvine Scientific (Continuous Single Culture Complete) ART media. Significant distinctions in maturation, cleavage and blastulation indicators were found between embryos cultured on Vitrolife G-series human ART media and embryos processed on IVF-Bioscience bovine cattle media and Irvine Scientific Continuous Single Culture Complete human ART media. The difference in performance between the last two media was less pronounced. The obtained results make it possible to simplify the maturation of oocytes and the cultivation of bovine embryos to achieve reproducible outcomes without variability from batch to batch.

Exploring the Application of Computer Visual Arts in the Context of Digital Media

Abstract This paper provides an in-depth discussion on the critical technologies of computer visual arts in digital media, mainly focusing on virtual character modeling and human body tracking technologies. The study merges the models into the same coordinate system by combining point cloud data from different angles and calculating the transformation matrix. Accurate 3D human body models were reconstructed using point cloud alignment and fusion techniques. A particle filtering method combined color, motion and shape information for effective tracking. The experimental results show that the success rate of hand tracking reaches 95.35% in the case of no background interference, while the success rate is 90.97% in the environment with background interference. In addition, the study shows that low resolution images (584×388) outperform high resolution (968×676) in terms of tracking accuracy and speed. The study confirms that the combination of advanced computer vision techniques can effectively construct and follow virtual character models and realize high-precision human motion capture under different environmental conditions.

New Teaching Approaches to Art and Design Education in the Digital Age

In the era of the digital economy, the continuous development of digital technology has had profound effects across various industries. The 20th National Congress report of the Party also emphasizes the need to “promote digitalization in education.” This paper aims to explore new approaches to teaching design in the context of digitization, addressing the needs and challenges of modern society. Starting from the issues encountered in the professional teaching process, it analyzes students’ psychology, the trends in different specialized directions, and industry demands such as visual communication design, product design, environmental design, and digital media art. Leveraging digital empowerment, the paper proposes several innovative teaching approaches, including interdisciplinary teaching, project-driven teaching, integrated teaching, and collaborative teaching. The exploration of these teaching design strategies aims to break down disciplinary barriers, providing a broader space for the art and design discipline. The goal is to cultivate professionals better suited to the demands of social development, contributing to the field of education.

The Use of Digital Media Arts in Animation Filmmaking in the Age of Digital Intelligence

Abstract The development of digital media art has brought a broader application prospect for the production of digital animation movies. The incorporation of Digital Media Arts into Animation Filmmaking during the Age of Digital Intelligence The DTW algorithm is selected to temporally regularize and align the motion data of the animated character, and the motion model is downsized and optimized by combining with the PCA method, to obtain the motion sequence with the characteristics of the animated character itself. The multi-scale method is utilized to decompose the original motion data when combined with motion capture technology to establish a 3D motion database. Analyze the motion connection curves between different video clips and the generated animation data after and before motion modeling using the 3D motion database of broadcast gymnastics. Analyzing the drawing efficiency of virtual character models is done using an ordinary human character model with different voxel accuracy. Before the motion library modeling, the average joint error measured in degrees was 10.012°, as indicated by the data. The modeling procedure results in a reduction of the average joint error to 4.281°. The accuracy of animated character generation motion can be improved by using motion modeling. Character motion generation suggestions for animated movie production are provided in this study.

CiteSpace-based visualization and analysis of digital media arts research

Abstract As an emerging art form, the development trend and impact of digital media art have attracted much attention, and the introduction of CiteSpace tools provides a new perspective for digital media art research, making it possible to analyze the scientometrics of this field. Relevant documents in Web of Science database were selected and analyzed by CiteSpace version 5.6.R4 for research collaboration and thematic co-occurrence networks. The results show that between 2004 and 2022, the total number of digital media arts research literature is 359, of which the literature volume from 2014 to 2022 accounts for 66.85%, and the average annual number of publications is about 27, reflecting the rapid growth of research in this field. Keyword analysis shows that “digital media art”, “digital technology”, “cultural industry”, “education “ and so on have become research hotspots. Digital media art research is gradually shifting from technology and nature exploration to university discipline construction and application practice, showing the trend of cross-border cooperation of disciplines.

Through case study analysis, we demonstrate the efficiency gains and aesthetic enhancements afforded by digital media, including a 70% reduction in rendering time and a 40% increase in character animation realism. Incorporating Virtual Reality (V.R.) and Augmented Reality (A.R.) technologies also opens up novel avenues for immersive viewer experiences. Despite facing obstacles in technology adaptation and financial investment, the application of digital media art in animation represents a crucial driver of industry evolution.

SOVIET “CONSTRUCTIVE” MONTAGE AND MOVING IMAGE VIEWED AS A SYMBOLIC FORM

The development of media art has such an impact on the field of modern and contemporary culture that each new round of its expansion urges for rethinking and a more in-depth study of those forms of art the moving image that arose at the beginning of the 20th century and became its foundation. Considering modernist photography and cinema from the point of view of the impulse that they gave both to mass culture and to complex forms of artistic practices (experimental film, video art), we strive to identify the key features of one of the most expressive, system-­forming types of languages of moving image, which has acquired independent cultural significance: Soviet montage. In the current issue Soviet montage has been interpreted from a meta-position that combines the methods of art criticism, semiotic analysis, and classical structuralism, we argue that such an approach makes it possible to understand the significance of this artistic form most fully and deeply. The research is focused on the corpus of avant-­garde films by S. Eisenstein, V. Pudovkin, Dziga Vertov and other filmmakers who systematically developed the principles of highly expressive editing, and the object of study is the aesthetic potential of this cinematic construction, which goes far beyond the boundaries of its immediate functions (storytelling) and gains a special place in the area of symbolic form of screen culture. This study clarifies not only the genealogy of Soviet montage and analyzes its evolution using the example of outstanding films of the 1920–1930s, but also draws out the connection of this cinematic construction with the conceptual searches of artists of the 21st century.

A Study of Digitization Strategies and Audience Interaction in New Media Art Exhibitions in Museums

Abstract With the rapid development of digital technology, the digital system based on the fuzzy kano model provides a digital strategy for new media art exhibition museum information dissemination, digital display, and other fields. In this paper, the fuzzy Kano model is used to design the digital museum, and the system design starts from the five elements of user experience. The digital system is designed from the levels of the strategy layer, scope layer, structural layer, framework layer, and performance layer, respectively. Clustering the sensors first is used to obtain the functional area in the classification of audience behavior. The optimal clustering results can be achieved through spectral clustering of sensor graphs. Clustering is proposed using the typical movement pattern extraction algorithm. Optimization indexes are set to achieve optimal typical movement patterns. The auxiliary sensors capture the interactive movements of the audience with the artwork and collect logical information. Behavioral pattern templates for various types of viewers are constructed using viewer attribute labels. In the user classification method based on behavioral patterns, edges in the graph are used as features, and an optimization problem is constructed to solve the importance of each feature for audience classification. The implementation of interactive features greatly enhances the interactive experience of the audience. It makes the audience’s novelty evaluation score of the system reach 8.671. The classification algorithm based on the behavioral model performs well in all evaluation indexes, which indicates that the system proposed in this paper meets the audience’s digital and interactive needs for new media art exhibitions.

Synergistic Coupling Mechanism of Digital Media Art and Vocal Talent Cultivation

Abstract In the field of higher education in today’s era, cultivating vocal talents is crucial. This paper focuses on an innovative mechanism in vocal talent cultivation, i.e., enhancing vocal education by constructing a music recognition model based on Fourier algorithm. The Model is further applied to design a teaching aid system incorporating reinforcement learning to realize the synergistic development of digital media art and vocal talent cultivation. After rigorous testing, we found that the music recognition model has an accuracy rate of over 90% and is highly resistant to noise. In addition, by analyzing the practices of several colleges and universities’ music schools, it is observed that there are significant differences among different institutions in the four comparative items, with standard deviations exceeding 0.6. In particular, the average scores using this study’s teaching system for vocal talent cultivation are 4.312, 4.335, 4.267, and 4.354, respectively, generally higher than those of the other colleges. The mean values of these four different vocal music majors were all above 4 points. Therefore, the teaching system for vocal talent training proposed in this paper effectively improves the quality of vocal talent training and provides a new path for the practical reform and optimization of said education.

Breakthroughs and Applications of Augmented Reality (AR) Technology in the Digital Media Field

Abstract This study pioneers the application of augmented reality (AR) in the realm of digital media, integrating AR technology with cultural education and artistic media concepts to forge a novel trajectory for digital media art creation. It delves into AR 3D scene construction technologies, employing calibration through the reconstruction of 2D image sequences, feature point extraction for spatial coordinate transformation, and 3D model development. Furthermore, it utilizes Level of Detail (LOD) models and texture mapping technologies to enhance visualization and interaction. The research culminates in a comparative analysis of traditional and AR-based media, evaluating differences in appeal and assessing functional capabilities. The findings indicate that AR-based media outperforms traditional media across several functions: media search (0.385), virtual design (0.424), immersive experience (0.466), real-time interaction (0.525), and user communication (0.396), with users expressing high satisfaction with these enhanced capabilities. This study not only diminishes the complexities associated with integrating digital media and AR technologies but also optimizes and innovates traditional methodologies.

Modern Translation of Rural Traditional Culture Led by Digital Art

Abstract As digital technology continues to evolve, the fusion of traditional cultural heritage with digital media art design has emerged as a crucial demand and innovative mode of expression. Within the context of digital art leadership, this study delves into the contemporary reinterpretation of traditional rural culture. By examining how rural traditional culture is portrayed under the guidance of digital art, we use the digital culture museum—which embodies both digital and rural traditional cultures—as a case study. A specifically designed questionnaire was employed to assess the effectiveness of this modern reinterpretation. Subsequently, key indicators influencing the efficacy of the contemporary translation of rural traditional culture were identified. The fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis was utilized to conduct group analyses, aiming to delineate the pathways that could enhance the contemporary reinterpretation of rural traditional culture. The findings reveal that rural traditional culture, under the stewardship of digital art, achieves a more effective modern reinterpretation. Notably, over 85% of respondents exhibited a positive response to the amalgamation of digital art with traditional culture in museums, expressing a preference to engage with traditional cultural content through this medium. The analysis of pathways to enhance the modern translation of rural traditional culture showed overall consistency and coverage rates of 0.921 and 0.695, respectively. The integration of tradition with modernity, alongside enhanced interactivity and participation, are identified as pivotal elements in augmenting the modern reinterpretation of rural traditional culture.

The article analyzes the film “Variations on a Pomegranate” (1975) by Spanish film director and a pioneer of media art J. Val del Omar. It is shown how film images are created using augmented reality technology based on projections (with help of analog-mechanical tools without computer technologies). The film director projected anthropomorphic images onto pomegranate fruits and increased the dramatic impact of the film with lighting effects. Thereby he created a critical mass of historical and mythological associations connected with the city of Granada, and also visualized the folklore character “duende”. It is substantiated that the specific mystical materialism of images in the film by J. Val del Omar is due to the film director’s use of visual and conceptual dominants of the artistic tradition in the still life genre of the Spanish Golden Age.

Exploring the Change of Literary Narrative and Reader Interaction Mode in the New Media Environment

Abstract Literature in the new media environment breaks the boundaries of the industry and reflects the Internet thinking of openness, sharing, and interaction. Starting from the study of interactive narrative phenomena in digital media art, this paper systematically explores the narrative style and characteristics of digital media art. X literary reading platform is selected as a representative, and through correlation analysis and regression analysis, the relationship between the reader interaction of the platform users, the readers’ perceived platform availability, and the readers’ perceived social interaction is explored. The study found that 0.2215 of the reader interactions in the reader interaction patterns of Platform X were social interactions, which are a type of social interaction mediated by the network, and that reader interaction had a significant positive effect on readers’ perceived platform availability and social interactions. The contribution of the study lies in the measurement of readers’ perceived social interaction through the definition of social interaction, while the mediating mechanism of platform availability reveals how readers perceive social interaction in their interactions with online literature. To enhance user services and narrative art changes in the online publishing of literary works, it is crucial to enhance the social interactions that readers of online literature perceive during the reading process.

The Communion of Digital Media Art and the Aesthetics of Smart City Public Art in an Interdisciplinary Context

Abstract The integration of digital media art into the public art design of the smart city can enhance people’s participation and sense of identity in the art design of public space and maximize the attractiveness and cultural connotation of the city itself. Based on this, this paper builds a fusion technology framework mainly based on digital projection technology and digital interaction technology, proposes an interactive projection technology integrating digital projection and Kinect, and combines the dynamic scene image splicing and alignment fusion technology to realize the interaction between the user and the digital scene. In the case analysis of Qianjiang New City, the number of visitors reached 31.55 million in 2022. The evaluation score of landscape facilities in the public evaluation of architectural landscape is under 3.5. The overall evaluation grade is only “general,” and the evaluation mean value of the degree of intelligence of landscape facilities is only 3.089. The comprehensive evaluation satisfaction of the digital landscape includes multimedia landscape, architectural landscape, and landscape facilities, and the average value of the evaluation of the degree of intelligence of the landscape facilities is only 3.089. The satisfaction value of the multimedia landscape, landscape of buildings and structures, and water landscape in the evaluation of satisfaction is 4.36, 4.159, and 4.027, respectively, which reaches the level of “good” satisfaction, while the satisfaction value of landscape facilities is 3.479, which is less than 3.5. The satisfaction level only reaches the level of “general.” The satisfaction value of landscape facilities is 3.479, which is less than 3.5, and the satisfaction level is only “fair.”

A Study of the Intersection of Traditional Calligraphy and Digital Media Art

Abstract As a classic representative of traditional culture, Chinese calligraphy art has more and more obvious advantages in today’s digital media art creation. In this paper, the calligraphic text image is binarized by the OTSU method, the image enhancement is realized by linear gray value stretching, and the optimal tilt correction method is used to preprocess the traditional calligraphic text image and make a font library. Based on the data from the calligraphy font library, an immersive digital interactive context of traditional calligraphy is designed using digital media art. Pix2Pix network is introduced to combine with the PatchGAN network to establish a style migration network for traditional calligraphy text images, and three different types of loss functions are designed to ensure the accurate generation of traditional calligraphy text. The L1 loss of this paper’s model in generating traditional calligraphy characters is only 0.0359 at the lowest, the similarity values of the generated samples of calligraphy characters are mainly between 90% and 96%, and the maximum error of the relative position and relative size of the radicals is only 1.18%. The average value of the G2R indicator for the users’ images of calligraphic characters was 75.23%, and 89.86% of the users indicated that they were basically satisfied with the immersive interactive context of traditional calligraphy. Traditional calligraphy can achieve digital transformation and provide audiences with more diverse cultural experiences by relying on digital media art.
