THE EFFECT OF TRADING PLACE STRATEGY ON READING COMPREHENSION AT EIGHT GRADE STUDENTS AT MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH MADINATUSSALAM SEI ROTAN

<p>This research was aimed to find out whether the students’ ability in reading comprehension who taught by trading place strategy is better than without trading place strategy. The method of this research was quantitative method with the experimental research. The population of this research was the eight grade student which is distributed into two classes totally 60 students. There were 30 students in experimental class and there were 30 students in the control class. The finding of this research shows that teaching reading comprehension by using trading place strategy is effective. The mean of experimental class from pre-test was 34.00 and post-test was 71.67. It was proved by tvalues (17.530) which is higher than ttable (1.671) in degree significance 5%. Furthermore, the hypothesis test that sign 2- tailed (p) was 0.00 while alpha (α) was 0.05 (0.00 < 0.005). It means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. So, the students’ ability in reading comprehension who taught trading place strategy is better than without trading place strategy.</p>

THE USE OF CARTOON VIDEO IN TEACHING STUDENTS VOCABULARY

<p>This paper aims to discuss vocabulary and cartoon video, and how to teach vocabulary by using cartoon video. Cartoons are designed not only to entertain children, but cartoons can be also used to teach and educate children. In order to find the relationship between cartoon and education, the writer writes a paper which the title is “The Use of Cartoon in Teaching Students Vocabulary”. It has a purpose to help children in learning English, more specifically it aims to improve English vocabulary for children whose age are between seven years old to fourteen years old.The method of the research is quantitative research in design experiment class and control class.The Reseacher could take conclusion that there was a significant between experiment class and control class, The mean of experiment class is greater than the mean of control class ( 77,25> 57,75). on the other hand, the test of hypothesis using t-test formula shows the value of t-test is greater than the value of the t-table. The value of t-test is 3,712 while the value of t-table on t-table in degree of freedom of 38 with level of significant of 0.01 is 2,42. The hypothesis is accepted.Based on the result of this study, it is accepted to be a good information for many teachers espesially English teachers. It is one solution to be used as appropiate method in teaching learning proses. It could be an alternative that could be used in teaching.</p>

THE EFFECT OF DICE GAME IN TEACHING ENGLISH GRAMMAR AT MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH NEGERI 2 LABUHANBATU SELATAN

This research was aimed to find out whether the students’ ability in English grammar taught by dice game is better than without dice game. The method of this research was quantitative method with the experimental research. The population of this research was the eight grade student which is distributed into two classes totally 60 students. There were 30 students in experimental class and there were 30 students in the control class. The finding of this research shows that teaching English Grammar by using dice game is effective. The mean of experimental class from pre-test was 50.33 and post-test was 67.17. It was also proved by tobserved (9.431) which is higher than ttable (1.671) in degree significance 5%. Furthermore, the hypothesis test that sign 2-tailed (p) was 0.00 while alpha (α) was 0.05 (0.00 < 0.005. It means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. So, the students’ English grammar taught by dice game is better than without taught by dice game.

The Effectiveness of Using Bot Telegram in Teaching Reading Narrative Text at the Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Grogol Kediri

Bot Telegram as teaching media, is also used as a tool to connect the classroom to the experts and educators around the world who are interested in the use of social media in educational environments. Bot Telegram is effective to be used in teaching reading at the tenth grades of SMAN 1 Grogol Kediri. This experimental research uses post-test only control group design. Two classes are used as research subjects, they are; experimental class (N = 36) and control class (N = 36). Experimental class is taught by using Bot telegram, whereas control class which is not being taught using Bot Telegram. Writing test is used to collect the data. The result shows that the mean of experimental class is higher than the control class (86.89 > 79.89) while the analysis of independent-samples t-test reveals that the experimental group outperforms the control group in reading achievement. The results significance value (sig. 2 tailed) .000 is lower than alpha level of 5% or 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that Bot Telegram is effective to be used in teaching reading especially in narrative text.

The Effect of Application Guessing Game Pic-Pow Strategy Towards Students’ Speaking Mastery at the First Class of SMA Mathla’ul Anwar Menes

This research aims to investigate the effect of application guessing game pic-pow strategy towards students’ speaking mastery at the first class of SMA Mathla’ul Anwar Menes. It employs the quantitative research with the characteristics of the true experimental design. It uses achievement test in collecting data involving orally pre and post tests. The findings reveal that application guessing game pic-pow strategy is able to help students to improve their speaking skill mastery. In the pre-test, the mean of experimental class is 38 and the mean of control class is 39, 13 while in the post-test the mean of experimental class is 92,75 and mean of control class is 79, 29. In the post test of t-test, the researcher can conclude that tcount ≥ ttable or 3, 0858 ≥ 1, 672 therefore Ha is accepted and there is a significant effect of application guessing game pic-pow strategy towards students’ speaking mastery.

Note Taking Strategy: Its effect on Reading Comprehension

The study reports the investigation of the effect of Note Taking strategy on reading comprehension at one of Public Vocational High Schools in Banten. The study employs true experimental design with pretest and post test control group design. The findings of the data analysis show that experimental group performed better on reading comprehension than control class. It is proven by the value of the mean of experimental class is 8.00. Meanwhile; the mean of control class is 6.95. The value of the group sig is 0.00 0.05 means that the null hypothesis is accepted. This means that there is not different of male and female who were taught by using Note Taking Strategy and those who were not taught by using Note Taking Strategy on their reading comprehension achievement.

Efektifitas Penggunaan Kahoot! untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Siswa

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the use of assessment learning media based on online games which is Kahoot to improve student learning outcomes. This study uses a quantitative approach with the quasi experiment method. The number of samples in each group is 30 people. The results shows that Kahoot can be an alternative interactive learning media in higher education because it is proven to significantly improve student learning outcomes with F (1.58) = 0.001, p <0.05 that means there are deferences between control and experiment class which is mean of experiment class (SD = 13.33, SD = 3.30) is higher than control class (M = 10.50, SD = 2.81)

The Influence of Teaching Tenses through Group Discussion Method towards Student's Achievement In Tenses Mastery

This research aims to investigate the influence of teaching English tenses through group discussion method towards student’s achievement in tenses mastery at 1st semester students of English department of Mathla’ul Anwar University, Banten. In this research, writer employs the quantitative approach that based on the result of proposing item tests to respodents of the research. Meanwhile design with the characteristics of experimental method, here the researcher conducted test as an instrument. The research done through three steps: first, the writer selected students of Mathla’aul Anwar University as subjects, second, the writer taught tenses through group discussion method at experimental class, while control class taught by giving homework. The treatment is processed by a pretest, treatment, and ended by posttest. It is done to know which one is more effective towards students’ achievement in tenses matery. After that, the writer calculated and analysed the data. The last step is reporting the result. The result of posttest show us that the mean of experimental class is higher than at control class. The result of calculation of t-test shows that tcount (2,63) is higher than tcritic (1,67) in 5% level significant. These tell us that teaching tenses through group discussion method is effective to improve the students’ achievement in tenses matery. The research hypotheses is “there is significance influence of using group discussion method in teaching tenses towards students’ achievement in tenses matery”. From all the data above, the writer concludes that his hypotheses is justifiable.

PENGARUH MODEL STUDENT FACILITATOR AND EXPLAINING BERBASIS REINFORCEMENT TERHADAP PENGUASAAN KOMPETENSI PENGETAHUAN IPA KELAS IV

The purpose of this research is to determine the significant differences of mastering science knowledge competence between class that are taught by cooperative learning model type student facilitator and explaining based reinforcement and class that are taught by conventional learning in grade IV students in SD Gugus Budi Utomo East Denpasar in academic years 2017/2018. This research is a quasi eksperimental research with non-equivalent control group design. The research subject is the IV grade of SD Gugus Budi Utomo amounting 315 student. This researh consists of 2 classes of 66 students is taken by random sampling technique. The data were collected using the test method in the form of a standard multiple choice objective test. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics that t-test. Based on data analysis result obtained thitung = 5,540 > ttabel = 2,000 at 5% significance level and dk = 64. So Ho rejected which means there is a significant differences of mastering science knowledge competence between class that are taught by cooperative learning model type student facilitator and explaining based reinforcement and class that are taught by conventional learning. The mean of experimental class is 86,90 and the control class is 77,36. Thus it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model type student facilitator and explaining based reinforcement influence on the mastery competence of science’s knowledge of grade IV students in SD Gugus Budi Utomo East Denpasar in academic years 2017/2018.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ACTIVE LEARNING VIDEO ENTITLED “SAYING SORRY“TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY IN LEARNING EXPRESSION OF APOLOGIZE

The main objectives of this research are: (1) To find out the speaking ability of expressing apology of the students taught using active learning video; (2) To find out the speaking ability of expressing apology of the students taught without using active learning video; (3) To know some significant differences between the speaking ability of expressing apology of the students taught using active learning video and without using active learning video. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, relevant theories were referred and discussed. There were audio visual, video, speaking, expressions of apologize, and active learning video to improve speaking ability. This study was an experimental research. The population of the research was seventh year students of SMP N 2 Kedungtuban Blora. The 52 students were taken from two classes as the sample. The sample divided into two classes, they were experimental class and control class. Every class has 26 students. Post test only experimental design was used in this research. The instrument of this research was oral test. Before gave the test, The students in control class taught without using active learning video, and then in experimental class the students were taught using active learning video as a treatment. Based on the result of the post test, the mean score of post test in control class was 65, 69 , then in experimental class was 76. According to the mean of post test each class, the mean of experimental class was higher than control class. T-test formula was used to know the differences of the test have done. The result of t-test is 7,99 and the t table of 52 students was 1, 67 from the table signification 5% (0, 05), so it can be concluded that there is a significant different of students’ speaking ability who taught using active learning video and without using active learning video. It can be conclude that active learning video is effective used in teaching speaking of apologize. On the basis of the conclusions, several suggestions can be offered. The teacher may use active learning video in teaching speaking. The students may use video to improve their speaking ability.

Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Teknik Kancing Gemerincing terhadap Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas XI SMK Telekomunikasi Peterongan Jombang

A learning model that applied last year is not necessarily able to successfully applied in this year or in subsequent years. Similarly, learning models applied this year, may not work in the next year. To that end, the teacher must really know the development of students' thinking ability and readiness of cooperative learning techniques based karakteristiknya.Model studs jingling a learning model that can be used for learning can be managed in accordance with its intended purpose. The purpose of this research is to knowing any or no a dump of cooperative learning using talking chips technique of study result the students of Math. Based on result of research, the mean of experiment class is obtain 86 and the mean of experiment class is obtain 71,07. Based test of hipotesis get sig = 0,000, so sig < that mean Horefused dan H1 recived. Conclusion that any effect of cooperative learning using talking chips technique of study result the students of Math in statistica material

THE EFFECT OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL ON STUDENT’S ACHIEVEMENT AT LIGHT TOPIC IN 8TH GRADE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to know the effect of Problem Based Learning Model on student’s achievement at Light topic in one of 8th grade Junior High School students. This study is a quasi experiment which involved two classes as sample. First the both of classes were given pretest then the experiment class was given PBL Model and control class was given Direct Instruction Model and after the both classes were given a different treatment they were given posttest and the result showed that the mean of experiment class was higher than control class. The Skill-Focused Approach to Interpretation Teaching: An Empirical Exploration

This paper conducts an empirical study to testify the necessity and feasibility of the skill-focused interpretation teaching for undergraduate English majors, aiming at probing into the issue of accurate positioning of interpretation course. The participants in the experiment are 72 fourth-year students with 36 in the experimental class and 36 in the control class. The pedagogical principles and procedures between the experimental class and control class are rather different. The former follows the language-focused approach while the latter implements the skill-focused one. Results indicate that the mean of experimental class (77.69) is higher than that of the control class (72.48) in the post-test, and there is significant difference between them (p = .000). On the whole, experimental class produces better overall interpreting performance than control class, especially in terms of completeness, accuracy, re-expression, and adaptability. There are significant differences between all of them (p < .05). Empirical evidence shows that the skill-focused approach has its advantages over the traditional language-focused approach.

KEEFEKTIFAN PEMBELAJARAN E-LEARNING BERBASIS WEBSITE PADA MATA KULIAH TEORI BILANGAN DI IKIP PGRI SEMARANG

The aim of this study is to know the effectiveness of learning based on Web at Number Theory lesson at IKIP PGRI Semarang. The implementation is focused at FPMIPA IKIP PGRI Semarang in fifth semester of mathematics education students which contain of 9 classes. Sampling technique in this study use convenience sampling procedure, where as the experimental is 5B and 5A as the control class and 5G as a class test. Independent variable of this research is the activity of student and learning result as dependent variable. The Data is obtained through observation and tests then we analyze by t test and regression test.. &#x0D; The results showed that implementation of learning achieve effective with characterized by: a) Mean of student learning result greater than KKM = 75, and in classical is more than 85% of students achieve point at 75. b) Effect of activity on the results of study is means that the active variable (X) gives a positive effect on learning result (Y). The value of the effect of creativity on learning result can be seen by R value in the table of Summary Model 0.867 = 86.7%. The Value indicates that the creativity of students affect learning result at 86.7%. c) The Mean of experimental class is 80.94 and 62.60 for the control class, so the class of experiments significantly better than the the control class. Based on the above explanation we conclude that learning based on web at Number Theory in Semarang PGRI IKIP is effective.
